William John 'Jack' Hastings, 60
MILLSBORO - William John "Jack" Hastings of Millsboro died of cancer Wednesday, March 14, 2001, in his home. He was 60.
Mr. Hastings was born in Philadelphia, the son of the late John William and Rose Hastings.
He worked for Intervet, Millsboro, since its opening. Before that, he was employed at N.C.R., Millsboro, for 15 years. He loved his job.
Mr. Hastings was a member of the Harley Owners Group, Seaford, and a former charter member of BPOE Lodge 2458, Seaford.
He enjoyed traveling, riding his Harley, reading and, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. He was a friend to everyone.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Norma Jean King Hastings; a daughter, Norma J. Hickman and her husband, Gary, of Harbeson; two grandchildren, Lance G. Hickman and Kelsey LuRay Hickman; two sisters, Jean Mitchell and her husband, Bill, of Georgetown and Louise Hall of Seaford; his father-in-law, Virgil King of Laurel; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Billy and Janet Shockley of Seaford; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Long Neck Road, Long Neck, where friends may call after 7 p.m.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Boy Scouts of America, Troop 95, c/o Louise Rathfon, Road 2 Box 328J, Georgetown, DE 19947.

Sharon C. Mills, 70
FELTON - Sharon C. Mills of Felton died Wednesday, March 14, 2001, in her home. She was 70.
Mrs. Mills was born in Harrington, the daughter of the late Loran V. and Mary Hanson Callaway.
She was a baker at Meatland, Harrington, for 10 years before retiring in 1999. Previously, she had worked as a seamstress since she was 16 years old, and worked in several local businesses in the Harrington area.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Mills Jr. in 1985; a son, Roger Jarrell in 1974; three brothers, Allen V. Callaway, Jim Callaway and Gooden Callaway; and a sister, Harriet O'Neil.
She is survived by a son, R. Wayne Mills of Felton; a daughter, Lynn M. Yost of Harrington; two sisters, Janice Dulin of Felton and Adel Weir of Wildwood, Fla.; a brother, C. Pete Callaway of Texas; and three grandsons, Richard Mills Jr., Andrew Mills and Reese Yost.
A service and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, Central Division, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.

Donald Richard Rolph Sr., 63
MILLSBORO - Donald Richard Rolph Sr. of Millsboro, formerly of New Castle, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001, in his home. He was 63.
Mr. Rolph was born in Rockland, the son of the late Elwood and Anna Culley Rolph.
In 1990, he retired as a plant manager from Kaumagraph Corp., Wilmington, after 37 years of service. He then worked for the Charcoal Pit restaurant, Wilmington, until August 2000.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Revis; a brother, Charles Rolph; and a son, David Rolph.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sallie Burris Rolph; a son, Donald R. Rolph Jr. of New Castle; two daughters, Dona Rainier of Cecilton, Md., and Sandra Keele and her husband, Mark, of Newark; two brothers, Elwood Rolph Jr. of Wilmington and Louis Rolph of Newark; a sister, Barbara Taylor of Rowlette, Texas; and six grandchildren.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Long Neck United Methodist Church, Long Neck Road. The Rev. Tom Donnachie will officiate.
Burial will be in the Woodlawn Memorial Park, DuPont Highway, Millsboro.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 600 DuPont Highway, Georgetown, DE 19947; to Tunnell Cancer Center, Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958; or to Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, DE 19958.

Reba A. Smith, 92
CHESWOLD - Reba A. Smith of Cheswold died Wednesday, March 14, 2001, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 92.
Mrs. Smith was born June 27, 1908, in Hartly, the son of the late Herman and Anna Dodd.
She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur E. Smith; and two daughters, Gloria Shapley and Emma Roe.
She is survived by a son, Fred J. Slater of Cheswold; 23 grandchildren; and too many great-grandchildren to count.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover. The Rev. Ronald Wuest will officiate.
Burial will be in the Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.

Hazel Eugene Simpson Bell, 87
HERTFORD, N.C. - Hazel Eugene Simpson Bell of Hertford, formerly of Felton, Del., died Friday, March 14, 2003, in Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation, Hertford. She was 87.
Mrs. Bell was born in Perquimans County, daughter of the late Eugene F. Simpson and Julia Miller Simpson Bundy.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Bell was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Felton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy A. Bell; a daughter, Helen Emily Malko Liddle and two brothers, W.W. Bundy and John C. Bundy.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Clifford J. "Pete" and Beckie Perry; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances B. and Ray Perry, and Annie B. and Aubrey Onley; a brother and sister-in-law, Calvin M. and Lela Bundy of Hertford; a sister-in-law, Mildred A. Bundy of Hertford; nine grandchildren, Scott G. Perry of Hertford, Sheila P. Evans of Edenton, Gwendolyn P. Eaton of Pensacola, Fla., Shirley M. Osman of Utica, N.Y., Vera M. Wetteroff of Barnhart, Mo., Michael Malko of Eunice, Mo., John Alan Malko of Double Oak, Texas, Melodie M. Lockler of Kansas City, Mo. and Teresa M. O'Shea of Hamilton, Ohio, 24 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 5-6 p.m. Sunday in Miller Funeral Home, Edenton.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Cedarwood Cemetery, Hertford. The Rev. Gene Boyce will officiate.

William P. Bowman, 72
MILFORD - William P. Bowman of Milford died Friday, March 14, 2003, in his home. He was 72.
Mr. Bowman was born in Milford, son of the late J. Irvin Bowman and Carrie Hummel Bowman.
He graduated from Milford High School in 1948 and attended the University of Delaware.
Mr. Bowman was a veteran of the Korean War.
He worked for the Milford Post Office as a rural mail carrier for 22 years. He also farmed and raised beef cattle. He worked for many years plowing gardens, mowing and removing snow. He was in the school bus business for 40 years and owned and operated Bowman Charter Bus Service for many years.
Mr. Bowman was a member of the Delmarva Flying Farmers Association and a member of the Milford's first Boy Scout troop, which was started by his father, who was also the scoutmaster. He was also a member of the House of Praise for All People Church, Stationsville. He was very involved with mission work in Aruba. He helped with the construction of Bible Way Baptist Church and providing and delivering a bus for Sunday school ministry. He was also responsible for founding and implementing the Terrific Kid Program for the Milford School District.
He lived for riding his snowmobile, four-wheeling, camping and riding motorcycles with the Christian Motorcyclist Association. Besides his love for his family and his church, his next great love was for his two dogs, Sam and Terry. They were his constant companions and loved to travel everywhere with him.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Kimmel Bowman of Milford; a daughter, Diana Vincent of Houston; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James A. and Wendy Bowman of Milford, and Brian P. Bowman of Florida; and four grandchildren, Joshua Bowman, Cody Bowman, Stacy Vincent, and Tina Vincent.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford.
Services will be noon Tuesday in the chapel.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made to the House of Praise for All People, c/o Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, DE 19963.

Alexander Robert Camac, 74
HARRINGTON - Alexander Robert Camac of Harrington died Friday, March 15, 2003, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. He was 74.
Mr. Camac was born in Harrington, son of the late Alexander Camac and Sadie Sapp Camac.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Camac was an electrician for the Reynolds Metal Company.
He loved to hunt and fish and also liked to go camping. Mr. Camac will be remembered as a loving, caring and devoted husband, father and grandfather and he especially liked to spoil his grandchildren.
Mr. Camac attended the Asbury United Methodist Church in Harrington and was a member of the Harrington Senior Center.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joan A. Camac of Harrington; two sons, Robert Lee Camac of Philadelphia and Daniel M. Camac of Wilmington; two sisters, Sarah Hobbs of Harrington and Sally Peyton of Pittsburgh, Ohio; and six grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Highway, Harrington, where friends may call one hour earlier. The Rev. Kim Gilson will officiate.
Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
