Judith S. Stachecki, 63
DOVER - Judith S. Stachecki of Dover died with her loving family at her side Tuesday, March 18, 2003, in her home. She was 63.
Mrs. Stachecki was born June 11, 1939 in Dover, daughter of late Herbert and Mary Emily (Saxton) Hughes.
She retired from Bayhealth Medical Center after 12 years of service.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley J. Stachecki of Dover; two sons and their respective companions, Michael D. Cox and Anne Pullin, both of Millsboro, and Boatswain's Mate Stanley Stachecki III and Daniell Lashbrook, both of Elizabeth City, N.C.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Terry Schellinger of Smyrna and Kellye and Greg Dempsey of Dover; a brother and sister-in-law, Herbert E. Hughes Jr. and Nancy Hughes of Dover; a sister and brother-in-law, Georga Lee and Louis DeMarie of Ocean View; five grandchildren, Ashley Lynn Cox of Milton, U.S. Marine Pfc. Gregory Dempsey of Marine Base Twenty-Nine Palms, Calif., Amy Dempsey of Dover and Alex Cox and Rachel Cox, both of Smyrna; three step-grandsons, Conor Davis, Brian Davis and Brendan Davis, all of Millsboro; six nieces and nephews, Rebecca DeMarie, Louis DeMarie, Peter DeMarie, Mary Spivak, Patricia Williams and Meredith Greer; and special friends Debbie West and Carol Corbitt.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Dover Elks Lodge, Forrest Avenue, Dover, where a celebration of life serviceswill be at 11:30 a.m.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements by Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Kent County Cancer Society.

Rebecca Ellen Wood, 76
MARYDEL, Md. - Rebecca Ellen Wood of Marydel died of natural causes Tuesday, March 18, 2003, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover, Del. She was 76.
Mrs. Wood was born Aug. 2, 1926, in Bridgetown, daughter of the late John and Mary Blunt Darling.
She was a homemaker. She also owned and operated Hurlock Food Rite in Hurlock for several years with her husband.
Mrs. Wood was a member of the Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7937 of Greensboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Wood III, in 1995.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Cowgill and Dorothy Taylor-Snow, both of Marydel; a sister, Cornelia Mitchell of Dover, Del.; three grandchildren and the respective spouses of two, Karen and John Barr of Fort Riley, Kan., Sherry Taylor of Smyrna, Del., and Clark and Sheryl Cowgill of San Diego; five great-grandchildren, Kelsey Cowgill and Shannon Cowgill, both of San Diego, Kylie Taylor of Smyrna and Jeremy Barr and Brandon Barr, both of Fort Riley.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in Fleegle-Helfenbein Funeral Home P.A., Greensboro.
Services will be noon Sunday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro.

Joan Margaret Bailey, 86
DOVER - Joan Margaret Bailey of Dover, previously of London, Ryde on the Isle of Wight, United Kingdom, and Philadelphia, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, in her home. She was 86.
Mrs. Bailey was born in the United Kingdom, daughter of the late Robert Louis and Caroline Marshall, and was raised at Tooting in London. She survived the bombing of London during World War II. She moved to the United States in 1957, and served for many years as administrative assistant to the physician-in-chief at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia. Following her retirement, she resided both in Philadelphia and Ryde, until she moved to Dover in 1987, where she lived until her death.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Peace of Philadelphia.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Caroline and Steven Schwartz of Dover, with whom she lived; a son, George Robert Bailey of Exmouth in Devon, U.K.; and five grandchildren, Benjamin Schwartz, Joshua Schwartz and Rebecca Schwartz of Dover, and John Bailey and Karen Davies of the United Kingdom.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Blood Bank of Delaware, 100 Hygeia Drive, Newark, DE 19713; or to Delaware Hospice Central Division, 911 S. Du Pont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.

Mary Rose Baldwin, 83
ODESSA - Mary Rose Baldwin of Odessa died Sunday, March 18, 2001, in her home. She was 83.
Mrs. Baldwin was born on July 12, 1917, in Phoenixville, Pa.
She was a graduate of the Phoenixville High School.
Mrs. Baldwin attended The St. Francis School of Nursing in Wilmington, and did private duty nursing during World War II.
She married John Cowl Baldwin of New York in 1943, and they moved to Middletown in 1948. After his retirement, they started The Baldwin House of Flowers out of her joy of arranging flowers. It was a family business for 17 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979.
She is survived by a daughter, Alice Baldwin Biggs and her son-in-law, Franklin Beekman Biggs of Odessa, with whom she lived the last couple of years.
Service and burial will be private.
The family suggests contributions to The St. Anne's Episcopal Town Church's Restoration Fund, 15 E. Green St., Middletown, DE 19709.

Rachel Lynn Boothe, 47
QUEEN ANNE, Md. - Rachel Lynn Boothe of Queen Anne died Monday, March 19, 2001, in her home. She was 47.
Ms. Boothe was born in New York City., the daughter of Florence Cherubin Boothe of Rockville, and the late Kenneth Barnes Boothe.
For many years she lived in Annapolis, and in 1997, she moved to Queen Anne.
She owned and operated a dog grooming business in Arnold, Md. She was also a veterinary technician. She bred and showed Samoyed and Rhodesian Ridgebacks.
Ms. Boothe was an avid antique collector.
She was a member of the Marlborough Hunt Club and the American Kennel Club.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Justine Aleksandra Jones of Queen Anne; two brothers, Lawrence Duncan Boothe of Poolesville, Md., and Christopher Baldwin Boothe of Clarkdale, Ariz.; her parents-in-law, Bob and Marge Moriarty of Millersville, and countless friends and loved ones whose lives she touched.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at Pleasant Plains Farm, 1837 Pleasant Plains Road, Annapolis.
Burial will be private.
Instead of flavors, the family suggests memorial contributions may by made to the Trust Account for Justine Jones, C/O Kathleen Browne, Annapolis Banking and Trust Company, P.O. Box 311, Annapolis, MD 21404.

Ronald Lee Christopher Sr., 57
GOLDSBORO, Md. - Ronald Lee Christopher Sr. of Goldsboro died as a result of an automobile accident Monday, March 19, 2001. He was 57.
Mr. Christopher was born May 7, 1943, in Preston, the son of Hazel Hopkins Christopher of Preston and the late William Earl Christopher.
He served in the United States Army.
He was employed as an independent contractor working for the Delaware State News for five years. He had also worked for Hobbs Contractors, Caroline County Public Works and MidShore Region Landfill.
Mr. Christopher was a member and past president of the Goldsboro Vol. Fire Dept., the American Legion Post 29 in Denton, the North American Hunting Club and the National Arbor Day Foundation.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold Christopher, William Christopher, Paul Christopher, and Roger Christopher; and a sister, Goldie Christopher.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 34 years, Barbara Christopher; a daughter, Dawn Parks of Greensboro; three sons, Ronald "Speedy" Christopher Jr., Nelson Christopher and Robert Christopher all of Goldsboro; two brothers, Phillip Christopher of Old Saybrook, Conn., and Donald Christopher of Windy Hill; four sisters, Erma Boyles and Edna Hart both of Preston, Margaret Townsend of North Hampton, Pa., and Rose Wheaton of Seaford, Del.; a sister-in-law, Marian Miller; and three grandchildren, Brandon, Amanda and Kevin Parks.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, P.A., 106 W. Sunset Ave. in Greensboro, where friends may call one hour prior to service.
Burial will be in Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Goldsboro Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 35, Goldsboro, MD 21636.

Gertrude Lowe Hudson, 86
FRANKFORD - Gertrude Lowe Hudson of Frankford died Monday, March 19, 2001, in her home. She was 86.
Mrs. Hudson was the daughter of the late Lena Hitchens Lowe and James William Lowe.
She was a homemaker and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a 1932 graduate of Laurel High School.
Mrs. Hudson was a member of Frankford United Methodist Church for 68 years, where she taught Sunday School and was the church organist for several years. She was a past member of the Frankford New Century Club, past president of the Women's Society of Christian Service and founder and past president of the Carey's Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Lester, in 1999, and a daughter, Lavessa on March 10, 2001.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra H. Bell and her husband, Jim of Knoxville, Tenn.; a son, Bruce L. and his wife, Jodi of Wilmington; a son-in-law, Burton Mitchell of Salisbury, Md.; a sister, Evelyn Metzner of Georgetown; 11 grandchildren, Kimberly (Mitchell) Blake of Dagsboro, Susan (Bell) Riordon of Watkinsville, Ga., Kevin Mitchell of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Keith Mitchell of Crownsville. Md., Kelly (Mitchell) O'Malley of Crownsville, Md., Stacy (Bell) McQuade of Rutledge, Ga., Shannon Bell of New York City, Jennifer Bell of Breckinridge, Colo., Amanda Bell of Atlanta, Ga., Tyler and Spencer Hudson of Wilmington; two step-granddaughters, Alayna and Amanda Avery of Wilmington; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Thatcher Street, in Frankford.
Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Carey's Cemetery, Frankford.
