Lillian A. Harrison, 97
ELDORADO, Md. - Lillian A. Harrison of Eldorado died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, in Mallard Bay Nursing Home in Cambridge, Md. She was 97.
Mrs. Harrison was born in Lewis County, Ky., daughter of the late Lewis Oatho and Laura Large Hinton.
She retired from the Harrison Construction Co. in 1973, which she and her husband, Colonel Harrison, operated for many years.
She was preceded in death by husband on Sept. 29, 1963 and two sons Harold James Hilger on Nov. 30, 1976 and Marion Eugene Hilger on March 3, 1989.
She is survived by a grandson, Gene Hilger of Woodbridge, Va.; and a granddaughter, Sherry Lynn Hilger of Washington, D.C.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Eldorado Cemetery, Eldorado. William Hitz will officiate.
Burial will be in Eldorado Cemetery after the services.

Christopher Alan Hayes, infant
MAGNOLIA - Christopher Alan Hayes died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, in Bayhealth Medical Center-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was six hours old.
Christopher was the son of Capt. Christopher G. and Julie Ann Palmer Hayes of Magnolia.
In addition to his parents. he is survived by a brother, Joseph, and a sister, Ellen, both of the family home; paternal grandparents, Terrence P. Hayes of Bay Village, Ohio, and Jo Ann M. Hayes of Cleveland; maternal grandparents, John and Gloria Palmer of Lakewood, N.Y.; maternal great-grandmother, Julia Mack of Erie, Pa.; and several aunts and uncles.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the McGorray Funeral Home, 14133 Detroit Ave., Lakewood, Ohio.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Cleveland.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Susquehanna Rural Free Clinic, PO Box 220, Frenchville, PA 16836.

Grace B. Howard, 96
HARRINGTON - Grace B. Howard of Harrington died of natural causes Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, in Genesis Eldercare Milford Center. She was 96.
Mrs. Howard was born Nov. 4, 1906, in Windsor, N.C., daughter of the late Annie and David Bazemore.
She graduated from East Carolina Teachers College - now East Carolina University - Greenville, N.C., and from the University of Delaware, earning a teaching degree.
She taught first and second grades in the Harrington school system until her retirement in 1974.
Mrs. Howard was a charter member of the Harrington Baptist Church and a member of the Harrington Senior Center, the Harrington Historical Society, the Delaware Retired Teachers Association, the Business and Professional Women's Club, the Order of the Eastern Star chapter in Salisbury, Md., and the Community Democrat Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lynwood F. Howard, in 1947.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Louisa Howard, with whom she lived, and Ann and Don Robertson, all of Harrington; two grandchildren and their respective spouses, Lynn and Tom Houska and William and Cindy Leonard; and three great-grandchildren, Kari Glanden and Ashlyn Houska, both of Dover, and Billy Leonard of Harrington.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Harrington Baptist Church, Liberty Street, Harrington, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be private.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Harrington Baptist Church, Liberty Street, Harrington, DE 19952.

Dennis David Jones, 48
EARLEVILLE, Md. - Dennis David Jones of Earleville died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, in Elkton Hospital, Elkton. He was 48.
Mr. Jones was born in Chester, Pa., son of Mary Edna Shrom Jones of Aston, Pa., and the late Albert E. Jones Jr.
He was a 1972 graduate of Sun Valley High School, Aston.
He worked as an electrical technician for Air Serve Inc. He was the commander of Flotilia No. 1906 U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and recently was accepted as a reserve officer of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. He was also a certified mechanic and served in many fields from automobiles to boats.
Mr. Jones was a black belt in karate and former instructor at Amkor Karate in Parkesburg, Pa., and a member of PADI and a certified scuba diver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and any outdoor activity. He also loved camping.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Darlene Marie Jones; three sons, Don Summers of Downingtown, Pa., Gary Miller of Earleville, and Joe Miller of Smyrna, Del.; a daughter, Kelly Jones of Nottingham, Pa.; a sister, Peggy Keleshian of Swedesboro, N.J.; his maternal grandmother, Alma Shrom of Aston, and three grandchildren, Drake, Kerysten and Kody Miller.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., 226 E. Main St., Cecilton.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home, where friends may also call one hour earlier.
Burial will be private.

Marjorie S. Keiper, 68
LEWES - Marjorie S. Keiper of Lewes died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2003, in her home. She was 68.
Mrs. Keiper was born in Scranton, Pa.
She was a creator of teddy bears and was known for collecting and restoring antique dolls. She formerly owned the Doll Center on Rehoboth Avenue and Fabrics By The Sea in Rehoboth Beach for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, F. Warren Keiper in 1986 and a brother, Phillip Solsman.
She is survived by two sons, Andrew E. Keiper of Ocean View, Del. and Frederick W. Keiper, Jr. of Napoleon, Ohio; a sister, Carol McCauley of Long Neck, Del.; seven granddaughters; and three great-granddaughters.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Parsell Funeral Home and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 1449 Kings Highway, Lewes. The Rev. Dr. James L. White will officiate.
Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, near Angola, Del.

Thomas R. Koons, 75
MILLSBORO - Thomas R. Koons of Millsboro, formerly of Harrisburg, Pa., died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 75.
Mr. Koons was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
He was a retired manufacturer's representative and a manager of L.P. Gas Co.
Mr. Koons was a member of the American Legion Post 28 of Riverdale and Oak Orchard, and a member of the Mason-Dixon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7234 of Ocean View. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge 629 and the Zembo Temple Shrine, both in Harrisburg.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Beverly Anne Koons; a son, Thomas F. Koons; two daughters, Chenlye Lauer and Linda Gross; and two grandchildren, Christopher Gross and Thomas Koons Jr.
Services will be noon today in the Long Neck chapel of the Melson Funeral Services, Millsboro, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be with honors 2 p.m. Thursday in the Indiantown Gap National Veterans Cemetery, Annville, Pa.

Clifford U. 'Sonny' Messick Jr., 62
MAGNOLIA - Clifford U. "Sonny" Messick Jr. of Magnolia died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, in his home. He was 62.
Mr. Messick was born in Millsboro, son of Dorothy Burton Messick and the late Clifford U. Messick Sr.
Mr. Messick was a self-employed lawn-maintenance business operator.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Shirley M. and Royston Pettit and Patricia Messick; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward B. and Barbara Messick, Richard D. and Carol Messick and A. Theodore and Susan Messick; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Long Neck, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Conley's Cemetery near Angola.

David Anthony Reynolds, 25
REHOBOTH BEACH - David Anthony Reynolds of Rehoboth Beach died, while engaging in his favorite pastime of surfing off the shores of Ocean City, N.J., Sunday, April 20, 2003. He was 25.
Mr. Reynolds graduated from the University of Delaware in 2000, receiving a degree in physical-education studies.
He was employed by Wesley College, Dover, as head men's lacrosse coach and previously taught at St. Mark's High School, Wilmington, where he coached wrestling and was named Delaware State Lacrosse Coach of the Year after taking the Spartans to the Delaware state finals. He began his athletic career at Caesar Rodney High School, Camden, where he was an All-State football, All-State wrestling and All-American lacrosse player. He had been a member of the Rehoboth Beach Patrol since 1996 and was named the 2002 Rehoboth Beach Lifeguard of the Year.
Mr. Reynolds lived life to the fullest, with a passion for his family and friends. He touched many lives and will never be forgotten, as he was a wonderful and loving husband, son, brother, friend and colleague.
He is survived by his wife, Jenny; his parents, Jim and Jo Ann Reynolds of Dover; four brothers Michael, Doug, Matt and Mark; a sister-in-law, Misty; a godson, Zackary; a niece, Baylee; his maternal grand-mother, Anna Maria Rohloff; and his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Marian Reynolds.
Memorial services to celebrate his life will be at 1 p.m. Thursday on the beach at the Rehoboth Beach Pa-trol Headquarters, Baltimore Avenue, where the family will receive friends two hours earlier.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions either to the Rehoboth Beach Patrol Dona-tion Fund in memory of David Reynolds, Attention: Beach Patrol, P.O. Phylis C. Vincent, 63
MILTON - Phylis C. Vincent of Milton died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 63.
Mr. Vincent was born in Millsboro, daughter of the late Lloyd and Etha (Revel) Cash.
She was a graduate of the Milford Memorial School of Nursing.
She worked many years as a registered nurse for Milford Memorial Hospital, Beebe Medical Center and Baptist Hospital, Pensacola, Fla.
After retiring from nursing, she attended and graduated from Liberty Bible College in 1981. She worked as a church secretary for Liberty Church North East, Pensacola, with her husband, the Rev. Carl G. Vin-cent Sr., who served as pastor. Together, they traveled and did missionary work in Russia for seven years. She counseled many young married Russian women during their stay.
She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain. She was an avid correspondent, sending many cards and letters to family and friends.
Mrs. Vincent was a member of Eagles Nest Fellowship Church, Milton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie Cash and Gene Cash.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Carl G. Vincent Sr.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Carl G. Jr. and Rhonda Vincent of Tulsa, Okla., and Paul C. and Stacey Vincent of Valdosta, Ga.; five grandchil-dren, Adam Vincent, Allison Vincent, Carolyn Vincent, Abigail Vincent and Amy Vincent; a sister, Gloria Gonzalez of Guatemala City, Guatemala; two brothers, Lloyd Cash Jr. of Broadway, Va., and Randall Cash of Bridgeville.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the sanctuary of Eagles Nest Fellowship Church, Del. 16, Milton.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Burial will be in Whites Chapel Cemetery, Milton.

Robert C. 'Bob' Wise, 70
KENT, Ohio - Robert C "Bob" Wise of Kent died peacefully in his sleep, Friday, April 18, 2003, in his home. He was 70.
Mr. Wise was born in Akron, son of the late William and Thelma Wise.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict.
He was a graduate of Kent State University.
Following graduation, he built spacesuits at B.F. Goodrich Co. from 1959 to 1965. He then moved to Delaware with ILC Dover, where he worked for 30 years to continue his career in the space industry working with Apollo, Sky Lab, the shuttle and the Mars Lander, to name a few.
Mr. Wise retired in 1996 and returned to Akron to pursue his hobbies of hunting, fishing and golf.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Wise; a son, David Wise; and his stepfather, Arthur Wilson.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hagenbaugh; a son, William Wise of Dover, Del.; five stepchildren and their spouses, Jack and Mary Hagenbaugh of Euclid, Dan Hagenbaugh and David and Cris Hagenbaugh, all of Akron, Linda and Dan Schuler of Avon, and Mark and Debi Hagenbaugh of Akron; 16 grandchildren, Katelynn, Robert, Christina, Laura, Patrick, Andrea, David Jr., Rachel, Kristen, Matthew, Lindsay, Laney, Megan, Meagan, Christopher and Eric; a sister and her husband, Judy and Robert Erdos of Bedford; and many additional loving family members and friends.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Hennessy-Bagnoli Funeral Home, 339 Southwest Ave., Tallmadge.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park.

Betty Lou Austin, 63
TOWNSEND - Betty Lou Austin, of Townsend, died of cancer Sunday, April 22, 2001, in her home. She was 63.
Mrs. Austin was born Jan. 18, 1938, on a farm east of Smyrna, daughter of the late Herbert and Catherine (Hutchins) Hurd.
She was a graduate of Smyrna High School class of 1956.
She retired as a secretary for the Department of Labor after 22 years of service.
Mrs. Austin was a giving person whose greatest enjoyment was her family and friends. She greatly touched all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James S. Austin Jr., in 1988, and four brothers, Earl Hurd, Dale Hurd, Bob Hurd and Bruce Hurd.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, James S. Austin Sr.; four daughters, Diane L. Austin, Kathi M. Zebroski and her husband, John, all of Townsend, Teresa H. Brown and her husband, Rick, of Smyrna, and Lu Lu Agan and her husband, Rob, of Clayton; two brothers, Wayne Hurd and Jack Hurd, both of Smyrna; two sisters, Nancy Pleasanton of Smyrna and Catherine E. "Kay" Webster of Harrington; nine grandchildren, April Argoe, John Zebroski Jr., William Zebroski, Christopher Hutchison, Timmy Hutchison, Lacey Hutchison, Allison Agan, Ryan Agan, and Colton Brown; and two lifetime friends, Francis Knotts Davis of Hartly and Pamela Gibe Foraker of Dover.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Townsend Cemetery.

Anna Virginia Bordley, 64
CHURCH HILL, Md. - Anna Virginia Bordley, of Church Hill, died Friday, April 20, 2001, in her home. She was 64.
Mrs. Bordley was born Jan. 31, 1937, in Pondtown, the daughter of the late Rigby and Jannie Douglas, and was married to Charles Bordley for 32 years.
She received her education in Queen Anne's County public schools.
She loved to cook, crochet, travel, and bring humor to others. She was also known as "Hot Dog."
Mrs. Bordley was an active member of Bethel A.M.E Church in Church Hill, where she was vice chairperson of the Usher Board, a member of the Helen Clark Missionary Society, the Secret Pal Club and the Women's Ministry. She sang with the Harmoneers of Church Hill, and in past years was a member of the January, C.H.C.C., Alpha and Kennard Alumni Clubs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Latricia Bordley; and a sister, Mary Ellen Matthews.
She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Fisher of Church Hill; a son and his wife, Dwayne and Terri Black, of Chestertown; four grandchildren, Montrel Fisher, Davera Wright, Erica Fisher and Imani Black; four great-grandchildren, Nyi Wright, Isaiah Fisher, Kyila Wright and Gabriel Fisher; five sisters, Mildred Wright, the Rev. Janet Rochester, Ella Mae Blake, Beatrice Sisco and Gladys Hynson; a brother, Rigby Douglas Jr.; four brothers-in-law, Arlington Wright, Charles Blake, Cornelius Sisco Jr., and George Hynson Jr.; a sister-in-law, Alma Douglas; three aunts, Pearl Miller, Evelyn Harris and Gladys Dean; an uncle, Nelson Johnson; her goddaughter, Beverly Wheeler; and a host of other relatives and special friends.
Service will be 2 p.m. today at Church Hill United Methodist Church in Church Hill.
Burial will be in Bateman Family Cemetery, Church Hill.

Harris O. BuNel, 83
GEORGETOWN - Harris O. BuNel, of Georgetown, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, in Greenvalley Terrace in Millsboro. He was 83.
Mr. BuNel was born is Lewes, son of the late Louis and Mary BuNel.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He had worked for many years for Georgetown Lumber Co.
Mr. BuNel was a member of the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Co. and St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Moyer BuNel.
He is survived by a daughter, Joyce Harvey of Bear; three grandchildren, Tami Green of Newark, JoAnn Gonzalez of Bear and Frank Gott of Newark; and two step-grandsons, Ryan Harvey and Reginald Harvey, both of Wilmington.
Memorial will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Pine and Academy streets, Georgetown.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.

Janice Sharon Faulkner, 49
SMYRNA - Janice Sharon Faulkner, of Smyrna, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital. She was 49.
Miss Faulkner was born Aug. 15, 1951, in Dover, the daughter of Randolph T. and Constance Ives Faulkner of Smyrna.
She was a graduate of the Milford Memorial School of Nursing and Wesley College with a BSN.
She was a registered nurse and, for many years, she worked in CCU/ICU at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington. She also worked in long-term health care and briefly with Delaware Hospice.
Miss Faulkner was an avid pianist and loved animals and flower gardens.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John R. Faulkner, in 1950; and a niece, Erin Yonker, in 1974.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Enid F. and Robert J. Yonker and Kathy Faulkner, all of Smyrna; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Keith and Wendy Faulkner of Smyrna and Colin and Janet Faulkner of Camden; four nephews, John I. Smith and his wife, Jennifer, David Yonker and Randy Faulkner, all of Smyrna, and Chris Faulkner of Camden; three nieces, Alyson Y. Gates and her husband, Jeffrey, and Jennifer Faulkner, all of Smyrna, and Christine Faulkner of Camden; and a great-niece, Elizabeth Smith, of Smyrna.
Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 22 North Union St., Smyrna.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.

LINCOLN - Verda A. Fraim of Lincoln died Saturday, April 26, 2001, in Bayhealth/Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. She was 79.
Mrs. Fraim was born in Petersburg, W.Va., daughter of the late Verely Westfall and Grace Shook Westfall.
She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Fraim, and a daughter, Nancy Cole, in 1994.
She is survived by a son-in-law, Joe E. Cole of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren, JoAnn Sims of Hyattsville, Md., Gregory Cole of College Park, Md., Carman Cole of Mitchellville, Md., and Patricia Cole of Lincoln; two sisters, Betty Wimer, of Milford, and Daisy Aldridge, of Cumberland, Md.; two brothers, Leroy Westfall of Harrisonburg and Lawrence Westfall of Moorefield, W.Va., seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Berry Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., where friends may call two hours prior to the service.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford.
