Nina E. Littleton, 65
DAGSBORO - Nina E. Littleton of Dagsboro died Sunday, March 16, 2003, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 65.
Mrs. Littleton was born in Selbyville, daughter of the late Ralph and Hannah Hamblin Jones.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Jones and Tommy Jones.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Joe J. Littleton; two sons, Gary Lee Littleton of Orlando, Fla., and Dale J. "Bud" Littleton of Millsboro; two daughters, Bonnie L. Mitchell of Millsboro and Peggy Ann Littleton of Dagsboro; three brothers, Edward Lee Jones of Millsboro, Ralph L. Jones of Selbyville and Ronnie Jones of Salisbury, Md.; a sister, Freda Littleton of Dagsboro; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour earlier. The Rev. Robert Hudson will officiate.
Burial will be in Dale Cemetery, Whaleyville, Md.

Richard Anthony Penfield, 74
MANO, Mo. - Richard Anthony Penfield of Mano died after a brief illness Sunday, March 16, 2003, in his home. He was 74.
Mr. Penfield was born June 23, 1928, in Ogdensburg, N.Y., the third of four children of the late Raymond and Ruth Penfield.
He attended Ogdensburg schools and graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1945 and from St. Mary's Academy in 1946. He also graduated from St. Lawrence State Hospital School of Nursing, Ogdensburg, in 1953, and from Ottawa (Kan.) University in 1977, with a bachelor of arts degree in health-care administration.
Mr. Penfield served in the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1950. He was stationed in Korea as a pharmacist's assistant.
He was employed at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Lyons, N.J., as a staff nurse until February 1956, when he enrolled in Lancaster (Pa.) General Hospital School of Anesthesia, from which he graduated in 1957. He worked as a certified registered nurse anesthetist at Miners Memorial Hospital, McDowell, Ky., in 1957 and 1958, and at Marion (Ind.) General Hospital from 1958 to 1961. At that time, he received a commission as a captain in the U.S. Air Force Nurse Corps. He served at Air Force hospitals in Blytheville, Ark.; Wiesbaden, Germany; Grand Forks, N.D.; Clark Air Base, Philippines; Dover, Del.; and Wichita, Kan. He retired from the Air Force in December 1978 as a lieutenant colonel and worked as a CRNA at Gulfport (Miss.) Memorial Hospital and Gulf Coast Community Hospital, Biloxi, Miss., until retiring in 1989.
He and Nancy L. Rothweiler were united in marriage April 24, 1954, at St. Mark's Church, Rahway, N.J. They moved to Mano in 1990, where he enjoyed the beauty of the Ozarks and boating on Table Rock Lake. His hobbies through his working and retirement years were restoring old vehicles, especially his 1985 Cadillac, his joy to behold. He took greet pride in building, as well, and had added several rooms, a barn and a garage to his retirement home.
Mr. Penfield was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Shell Knob, and St. Edward's Catholic Church, Cassville, where he served as a Eucharistic minister. He was treasurer of the Eagle Rock, Golden and Mano Fire Department from 1995 to 1997, and had volunteered with the Eagle Rock Community Association's bingo project.
In addition to his father, who died in 1956, and his mother, who died in 1990, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Harris, in 1996; and a daughter, Laurie E. Little, in 2001.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Leigh A. and Richard Penfield of Crofton, Md., Ellen M. and John McDowell of Clayton, Del., and Angela R. Penfield of Maryland Heights; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Cmdr. Jeffrey R. and Loretta Penfield of Lemoore, Calif., and David E. and Susan Penfield of Huntsville, Ala.; a sister and brother-in-law, Carol A. Herzog and the Rt. Rev. Dan Herzog of Albany, N.Y., where the Rt. Rev. Herzog is Episcopal bishop of the Diocese of Albany; a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond C. and Theresa Penfield of Rouses Point, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren, Lindsay McDowell, Leslie McDowell, Jennifer Penfield, Jay Penfield, Scott Penfield, Angela Law, Stephanie Little, Christopher Little, David Penfield, Richard Penfield and Matthew Penfield; a step-grandson, Wayne Chomitz; another son-in-law, Steven Little of Collins, Miss.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Shell Knob.
Burial and a military ceremony will be in Arlington (Va.) National Cemetery at a later date.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Holy Family Catholic Church's building fund or to Quality Hospice, Cassville. In either case, send contributions in care of Greenlawn Funeral Home, 709 Highway 248, Branson, MO 65616.

Charles Allen Reed Jr., 91
SEAFORD - Charles Allen Reed Jr. of Seaford died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at the Methodist Manor House. He was 91.
Mr. Reed was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
He moved to Seaford from New Jersey in 1996.
Mr. Reed operated the Selective Placement Co., Newark, N.J., until he retired in 1955.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Reed.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Methodist Manor House Chapel, 1001 Middleford Road, Seaford.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Methodist Manor House library fund, 1001 Middleford Road, Seaford, DE 19973.

Cheyenne Kerry Lorraine Robledo, 5
GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - Cheyenne Kerry Lorraine Robledo of Grand Prairie and Bridgeville, Del., died after a five-month illness Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at Dallas Children's Hospital. She was 5.
Cheyenne was born Feb. 9, 1998, in Chino, Calif., daughter of Denise Robledo of Bridgeville and Richard Robledo of Grand Prairie.
She loved horses, and enjoyed playing with Barbie dolls and watching cartoons.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her half-brother, Tam Lam Jr. of Newark, Del.; her maternal grandmother, Doreen Klingerman of Bridgeville; her maternal grandfather, Joseph E. Freebery Jr. of New Castle, Del.; and two maternal great-grandmothers, Edith Klingerman of Virginia and Theresa Hopkins of New Castle.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna.
Burial will be private.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to help defray medical expenses to Denise Robledo, 5 Gristmill Lane, Bridgeville, DE 19933.

Mary Ellen Seals, 76
CHURCH HILL, Md. - Mary Ellen Seals of Church Hill died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Kent and Queen Anne's Hospital, Chestertown. She was 76.
Mrs. Seals was born in Barclay, daughter of the late Charles E. Rochester Sr. and Pearl Mae Macalister Earle.
She attended school in Queen Anne's County.
Mrs. Seals was an active member of St. Daniels United Methodist Church, Barclay, until her health began to fail. In years past, she was a member of the Mother Club and past president of the Senior Choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Elaine Harriss.
She is survived by two daughters, Lois Seals of Church Hill and Phyliss Wilson of Centreville; four sons, William Cheers of Dominion, Arthur Seals Jr. of New Castle, Del., Robert Seals of Church Hill and Eric Queen of Cambridge; two sisters, Elizabeth Murray of Sudlersville and Pearl Wilkerson of Goldsboro; a brother, James Rochester of Wilmington, Del.; two adopted daughters, Shirley Tate of Chesterville and Daphine Croom of Philadephia eight sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; two daughters-in-law; a son-in-law; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at St. Daniels United Methodist Church, Barclay, where friends may call two hours earlier. The Rev. Joyce Whittington will officiate.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Jo-Anne C. Swift, 72
CHESAPEAKE CITY, Md. - Jo-Anne C. Swift of Chesapeake City, formerly of Earleville, died Friday, March 14, 2003, at Laurelwood Nursing Home, Elkton. She was 72.
Mrs. Swift was born June 12, 1930 in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Edward P. and Jane Whitlock Chance. She was a resident of Cecil County for 15 years, coming from Paoli, Pa.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, where she served on the vestry and on numerous committees, and taught Sunday school. She also was a member of the lower Cecil County Senior Citizens and the M.O.T. Seniors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Royden M. Swift Jr., in 1977.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Royden M. "Doc" and Maureen Swift of Millington; two daughters and a son-in-law, M. Jayne and Conrad Kauffman and Gertrude J. "Trudy" Torres, all of Boston; five grandchildren, Jessica, Caitlin and Samuel Kauffman, and Rachael and Royden M. "Max" Swift IV.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 10 Glebe Road, Earleville. The Rev. Christopher Porteus will officiate.

Lois 'Nancy' Turney, 84
MILTON - Lois "Nancy" Turney of Milton died Sunday, March 16, 2003, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md. She was 84.
Mrs. Turney was born in Bridgeport, Conn., daughter of the late Lois and Stanley Warner. She lived most of her life in Connecticut. She moved to Delaware in 1993.
She worked as a bookkeeper for the Southbury, Conn., school system.
Mrs. Turney was a member of United Church of Christ, Southbury. She was active in the community and served on a number of committees and held various organizational positions. She was a member of Goshen United Methodist Church, Milton, and the Methodist Women's Association, Milton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Warner; and her husband, Clinton Wilson Turney.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carrie T. and John Phillos of Georgetown; a son, Stephen E. Turney of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Warner of Hartford, Conn.; five grandchildren, Morgan Garms, Rachael Phillos, Clinton Phillos, Mark Turney, and his wife Jennifer, and Britta Turney; and a great-grandchild, Brian Turney.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Goshen United Methodist Church, Federal Street, Milton.
Burial will be Saturday in Southbury.
Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to Goshen United Methodist Church, corner of Federal Street and Mulberry Street, Milton, DE 19968.
