LEWES - Genevra I. Donovan Fox of Lewes died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 96.
Mrs. Fox was born Aug. 24, 1906, daughter of the late Enoch W. and Martha K. Donovan, then of Milton.
She worked at home and volunteered her services.
She especially enjoyed flowers and gardening. She will be dearly missed by all, as she was so special to all those who knew her.
Mrs. Fox was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, where she was in the Mary Martha Circle, and also was a member of Unity Chapter 16 of the Order of the Eastern Star and of the Lewes Senior Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Lynn W. Fox, in May 1987.
She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Somers T. and Alma Donovan of Mesa, Ariz.; six other sisters-in-law, Dorthy Donovan of Milton, Phoebe Donovan of Fruitland, Md., Helen Stephens of Norfolk, Va., Clara Fox of Georgetown, Diane Donovan of Norma, N.J., and Gloria Fox of Lewes; a brother-in-law, Melvin Fox of Lewes; and 28 nieces and nephews, Charles Donovan and Gene Donovan, both of Norma, Evelyn Maloney of Pine Beach, N.J., Donald Gibson and Vera Dudenhaver of Conneutville, Pa., Martha McLeod of Madison, Fla., Jack Donovan of Lincoln, Shirley Dishman, Richard Donovan, Ruben Donovan and Joe Dorey, all of Milton, Ruby Bowers of Ambler, Pa., Doris Cecil of Fruitland, Daniel Donovan of Milton, Ohio, David Donovan of Waverly, Ohio, Donnie Donovan of Conneaut, Ohio, Sammy Donovan of Ohio, Robert. J. Lake of Salisbury, Md., Reba Wells and Virginia Littleton, both of Georgetown, Fred Lake of Milford, Enoch Lake of Harrington, Clyde Stephens and Burt Stephens, both of Chesapeake, Va., Richard Stephens of Vrginia Beach, Va., Beverly Thompson of New Bern, N.C., Geneva Perucchi of Harbeson and Ellen Gere of Arizona.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the Parsell Funeral Home & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 1449 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in McColleys Church Cemetery, near Redden.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to McColleys Church Cemetery Fund, 18105 Redden Road, Georgetown, DE 19947.

Fred J. O'Neal Jr., 74
FRANKFORD - Fred J. O'Neal Jr. of Frankford died of complications of cancer Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, in his home. He was 74.
Mr. O'Neal was born Dec. 27, 1927, in Laurel, son of the late Fred J. O'Neal Sr. and Mildred Ellis O'Neal.
He was the owner of Fred J. O'Neal Inc. Trucking Co. for 52 years, retiring in May 2002.
Mr. O'Neal was a member of Carey's United Methodist Church, Millsboro.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Jane Campbell O'Neal; two sons, Fred J. O'Neal III and Richard A. O'Neal Sr., both of Frankford; a brother, Byard O'Neal of Laurel; a sister, Jackie Howard of Salisbury, Md.; four grandchildren, Kevin O'Neal, Jennifer O'Neal, R.J. O'Neal and Dawn O'Neal; and two great-grandchildren, Garrett O'Neal and Jesse O'Neal.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call two hours earlier. The Rev. Ted Elser and the Rev. Arthur Backus will officiate.
Burial will he in Carey's Cemetery, Millsboro.

Eleanor Waller Tharp, 84
SEAFORD - Eleanor Waller Tharp of the Methodist Manor House, Seaford, died of heart failure Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, in the Manor House. She was 84.
Mrs. Tharp was born in Seaford, daughter of the late Valiant and Elizabeth Mae Collins Waller.
She graduated from Goldey-Beacom College, Wilmington, in 1938.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Tharp was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Seaford, and was a founding member of the Seaford Historical Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Benaiah Tharp, in 1988; a son, Brooks Woodman, in 1986; a brother; and a sister.
She is survived by a son, James Woodman of Salida, Calif.; a grandson, Forrest McCracken of Esko, Minn.; and a niece, Willa Jean Klingensmith of Cambridge, Md.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Front & King streets, Seaford, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford.

Franklin Bernard 'Bernie' Grady, 85
REHOBOTH BEACH - Franklin Bernard "Bernie" Grady of Rehoboth Beach, formerly of Savage, Md., died of natural causes Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, in his home. He was 85.
Mr. Grady was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Sue E. Sanders Grady; a brother, Robert E. Grady of Kilmarnock, Va.; and five nephews, Robert E. Grady Jr. of Houston, Texas, Michael F. Grady of Mansfield, Ohio, James D. Grady and Kenneth B. Grady, both of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and John W. Grady of Columbus, Ohio.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, in Savage Cemetery, Savage.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Alzheimer's Disease Research, 15825 Shady Grove Road, Suite 140, Rockville, MD 20850-4022.

Thomas Ray 'Chico' Hanshaw, 57
NORTH EAST, Md. - Thomas Ray "Chico" Hanshaw of North East died of natural causes Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, in Union Hospital, Elkton. He was 57.
He is survived by two daughters, Shila and Mariah Hanshaw, both of Middletown, Del.; and his former wife, Karen Brummitt of Middletown.
Services and burial will be private.

Bertha E. Holman, 76
DOVER - Bertha E. Holman of Dover died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 76.
Mrs. Holman was born May 24, 1926, in Oakland, Calif., daughter of Josephine E. Gordon Thorpe of Jamestown, Calif., and the late John Leroy Thorpe.
She worked as a seamstress for Leggett's Department Store in the Dover Mall for 12 years before retiring. She also worked for DEMC making timers for 15 years.
Mrs. Holman enjoyed knitting and crocheting and doing crafts.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by five daughters, Rosemary Nordyke of Carrolton, Ohio, Constance Sue of Lawrenceburg, Ky., Brenda Jo Lendon of Uhrichsville, Ohio, Carol Kilpatrick of Dover and Victoria Ramsey of Leesburg, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover.

Laverne Sullivan Hudson, 82
SEAFORD - Laverne Sullivan Hudson of Seaford died of complications of Alzheimer's disease Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, in Genesis Elder Care in Seaford. She was 82.
Mrs. Hudson retired from the DuPont Credit Union in 1985 after more than 25 years.
She was active in the National Republican Women's Association.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Patrick Sullivan, in 1961; and her second husband, James Herbert Hudson, in 1985.
She is survived by a son, Bill Sullivan of Seaford; two daughters, Judy S. Roach of Bridgeville and Janet Marie Willey of Salisbury, Md.; a brother, Chester A. "Sonny" Wilt Jr. of Breezewood, Pa.; three sisters, Donnie Spruill of State College, Pa., Marge Shaffer of Crystal Springs, Pa., and Catherine Lichtenfels of Tampa, Fla.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St., Seaford
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St John's United Methodist Church, Pine and Poplar streets, Seaford. The Rev. David Humphrey will officiate.
Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Seaford.

Belinda W. 'Linda' Burris, 53
CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Belinda W. "Linda" Burris of Chestertown died of lung cancer Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at Kent & Queen Anne's Hospital, Chestertown. She was 53.
Mrs. Burris was born June 7, 1949, in Pulaski, Va., daughter of Myrtle Akers Wilson of Wilmington, Del., and the late Carnie Wilson.
She graduated from McKean High School, Wilmington, and moved to Betterton in 1979.
She owned and operated The Upholstery Shop, High Street, Chestertown. She also worked as an enumerator for the U.S. Census Bureau.
Mrs. Burris also resided in Rock Hall and, most recently, Chestertown.
She enjoyed shooting pool and was active with the APA Pool League. She was a proud grandmother.
She is survived by two daughters, May Burris Hyland of Chestertown and April Burris of Monticello, Ind.; a brother, Ronald Wilson of Newark; a sister, Connie Gonzalez of Lubbock, Texas; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home PA, Chestertown, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Chestertown.

Nettie Dill Butler, 78
CANTERBURY - Nettie Dill Butler of Canterbury died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, in her home. She was 78.
Mrs. Butler was born April 18, 1925, daughter of the late Walter W. and Catherine Moore Dill.
She was homemaker and did sewing and ironing. She also worked for Playtex and the Quick Print Shop, both in Dover.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carter T. Butler, in 1980.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Connie and Ronald Hawkins Sr. of Harrington and Thelma "Tee" Newcomer of Magnolia; two brothers, Martin Dill and Ezekiel Dill, both of Felton; two grandchildren, Ronald Hawkins Jr. of Harrington and Michael Hawkins of Felton; and six great-grandchildren, Ronald Hawkins III, Jacob Hawkins, Cody Wyatt and Ashley Wyatt, all of Harrington, and Michael Hawkins Jr. and Marissa Hawkins, both of Felton.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.

Col. David Douglas III, 61
PENSACOLA, Fla. - Col. David Douglas III of Pensacola died Thursday, March 13, 2003. He was 61.
Col. Douglas was born Nov. 12, 1941, in Wilmington, Del., son of the late David Douglas and Bettie T. Douglas.
He served in the Marine Corps for 27 years and was involved in two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. He retired as a colonel from the Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station in 1991.
He is survived by his wife, the former Sheryl S. Derby of Auburn, N.Y.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Katherine Douglas, Diana and George Nicolay and Leigh and Jason Van Auken; four grandchildren, Brooke of Boca Raton, Ryan and Lane of Rochester, Minn., and Dillion of Vinings, Ga.; and a brother and sister-in-law, William Alexander and Jane Douglas of Shawnee Mission, Kan.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at All Saints Episcopal Cemetery at St. Georges Chapel, Angola, Del.

Raymond James Foreman, 85
DUNDALK, Md. - Raymond James Foreman of Dundalk died Sunday, April 27, 2003. He was 85.
Mr. Foreman was born in Chestertown, son of the late Raymond B. and Reba Downey Foreman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Foreman.
He is survived by two daughters, Rosalie Foreman and Cindy Hanna-Hyland; two stepsons, Jack Garrett and Robert Garrett; a stepdaughter, Selena Zook; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, Md. 20, Rock Hall.

Frances Evelyn Jackson, 95
CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Frances Evelyn Jackson of Chestertown and formerly of Perryville died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Kent & Queen Anne's Hospital, Chestertown. She was 95.
Mrs. Jackson was born Oct. 2, 1907, in Cecil County, daughter of the late Edward Austin Jackson and Hannah E. Founds Jackson.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Jackson was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Port Deposit.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Moore Tyson, on Nov. 9, 1987; a grandson, Robert Mark Tyson; two brothers, Austin Jackson and Robert Jackson; and four sisters, Grace Jackson Taylor, Mildred Jackson Charsha, Caroline Jackson and Myrle Jackson Simmers.
She is survived by a son, George Robert Tyson of Chestertown.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home PA, Perryville, where friends may call one hour earlier. The Rev. Robert Hollett will officiate.

F. Warren Milliken, 75
SEAFORD - F. Warren Milliken of Seaford died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, in his home. He was 75.
Mr. Milliken retired in 1990 from the Penco Corp., Seaford, where he was the safety manager.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Milliken was a member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Reliance, and of the American Legion, Seaford.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rebecca Ann Bradley Milliken; a son and daughter-in-law, David L. and Karen Milliken of Seaford; a grandson, D. Michael Milliken of Seaford; a sister, Anna Mae Collins of Palmerton, Pa.; and a brother, Dr. William James Milliken of Centreville, Md.

Ethel Marian Minner, 87
HARRINGTON - Ethel Marian Minner of Harrington died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, in her home. She was 87.
Mrs. Minner was born May 7, 1915, in Coolspring, daughter of the late Howard and Lillie (Joseph) Carpenter.
She was a resident of Milford for a short while; then, she moved to Harrington in 1936 and remained there until 1980. She lived in New Jersey from 1980 to 2000 and then returned to Harrington.
She was employed by Caulk's Laboratories, Milford, for more than 16 years, retiring in 1980.
Mrs. Minner was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, Harrington.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Minner, in 1952; and three sisters, Elva Holliday, Hilda Coverdale and Agnes Spicer.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Lillie "Patsy" and James Lanzalotti, with whom she lived, and Agnes Fay Shaw of Harrington; a son and daughter-in-law, George Samuel and Gloria Minner of Harrington; a sister, Sara H. Phillips of Pawleys Island, S.C.; four grandchildren, Holly R. Jackson of Milford, Dawn P. Lanzalotti of Baltimore, and Todd W. Collison and Melissa Cannon, both of Harrington; and three great-grandchildren, Megan Jackson, Logan Tisher and Wyatt Cannon.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford.

Vallare Kay Price, 49
DOVER - Vallare Kay Price of Dover died of heart failure Friday, April 25, 2003, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 49.
Mrs. Price was born June 21, 1953, in Harrison, Ga., daughter of Sammie Lee Wilson of California and the late Callie Mae Archer Wilson.
She attended schools in the Dover area.
Mrs. Price worked as a nurse's assistant.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a cousin, Nancy Barlow.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Thomas Price; three sons, Calvin Wilson and Carl Matthews, both of Dover, and Tracy Owes of Salisbury, Md.; a stepdaughter, Shayla Price of Dover; two sisters, Patricia Day and Jeannie Peterson, both of Dover; two daughters-in-law, Lisa Wilson and Denyne Owes; two brothers-in-law, Terry Day and Jerry Peterson; two aunts, Ernestine Archer of Dover and Veanie Culyer of Augusta, Ga.; two uncles, Johnnie Archer of Petersburg, Fla., and David Daniels of Dover; two nieces, Callie Wilson and Kimberly Wilson, whom she raised; a nephew, Bobby Wilson, whom she also raised; 16 grandchildren; and a host of other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be private.
