The first war that shook Tina's world was a battle with inflammatory breast cancer, one of the most aggressive cancers to affect women. With much prayer and a LOT of pain, she fought and WON that war.

Her second war to shake her world was the one she was fighting till her last breath: cancer in her lungs, bones, and liver.

We spent a lot of time together as I was her primary caregiver.

My second wife, Maria "Marie" Marcela, fought Type 1 Diabetes, psoriatic arthritis, breast cancer, and DKA, passing away during an unexpected drop in her blood sugar due to her insulin pump failure.
