James Alexander Wimberley
Mr. James Alexander Wimberley of Mayo passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 28, 2006. He was 61 years old. He was a lifetime resident of Mayo.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Wimberley; sons, Jimmy Wimberley of Lake City and Larry Wimberley of Mayo; daughters, Ann Blackburn of Live Oak and Wendy Summers of Mayo; brothers, Roy Wimberley of Mayo, Ed Wimberley of Old Town and Clarence Wimberley of Mayo; sisters Sandy Clark of Lee, FL, Doris Haley of Branford and Ruth Green of Mayo; 3 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Wimberley were held Thursday, March 30, 2006 at the Ten Mile Pond Church in Mayo at 11:00 AM with Rev. Cooter McCray officiating. Burial followed at the Ten Mile Pond Cemetery. A visitation was held on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at Ten Mile Pond Church at 4:00 PM.
Arrangements were placed under the care of the Rick Gooding Funeral Home of Cross City, US Hwy 19.

Dorothy Fletcher Skinner
Dorothy Jean Fletcher Skinner, 50, of Cross City, died March 31, 2006 at Haven Hospice in Chiefland. Dorothy was born January 8, 1956 in Fort Lauderdale, and grew up in Brooksville. She graduated from Hernando High School – Class of 1974. Dorothy worked briefly in the Hernando County Court House before moving to Floral City and started working for the Citrus County Court House. After marrying Roy Skinner in 1987, they moved to Cross City where she established a small preserve for abandoned white tail deer.
Our beloved Dorothy is survived by husband, Roy Skinner of Cross City; parents, Richard and Nancy Fletcher of Wareham, Mass; sisters, Sheryl and Russell Coon of Avondale, Penn and Heidi and John Miller of Durham, NC; brother Michael and Kathy Fletcher of Buzzards Bay, Mass. Loving Aunt to Andrew and Jacob Coon, Katie and Alan Miller and Emma Fletcher.
Dorothy will be missed ‘deerly’ by Gem and Nocchio as well as ‘the girls’, Garnet, Ruby, Pouncy Mae, Pearl, Aquamarine, Sapphire, Emerald, Amethyst, Diamond, Turquoise and Jewel. Companions Jack and Jill also survive.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. Lucio Gordan and his staff at the Gainesville Oncology Associates. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dorothy Jeans’ name to Haven Hospice of the Tri Counties, 311 NE 9th Street, Chiefland, FL 32626 (www.havenhospice.org) or to the American Cancer Society of your choice.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 2, 2006 at the Charles E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness, FL at 2:00pm. A visitation was held from 1:00pm until the time of the service.
Arrangements were placed under the care of the Rick Gooding Funeral Home, Cross City, FL, US Hwy 19, and the Charles E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.

Rosie L. Glanton
Rosie L. Glanton of Cross City Florida passed away around sunset on March 31st 2006 at the North Florida Regional Medical Center.
The viewing will be from 2:00 p.m. thru 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2006 and also from 11:00 thru 1:00 on Saturday, April 8th just before the service.
The service will be held on Saturday April 8th at 1:00 p.m.
Both the viewing and the service will be held at the Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ, 166 NE 106 St., Cross City, Fl 32628.

Janet F. Cooper
Janet F. Cooper of Old Town, Florida passed away Sunday, April 2, 2006 at her home. She was 55 years old. Janet was a life long resident of Dixie County Florida worked as a correctional officer, a cook at Roy’s Restaurant in Steinhatchee and was a Christian.
Her mother Wanda Martin Cooper, her brother Robert Cooper and a sister Melissa Cooper preceded Janet in death.
Janet is survived by her mother and father Jeanie Cooper & Robert Leon Cooper Sr. of Old Town, FL Town, FL; son, Thomas Andrew Cannon of Cross City, FL; sisters, Vicki Gainous of Cairo, GA, Trina Lee of Old Town, FL Sharon Durham of Salem, FL and Robin Morgan of Perry, FL; brothers, Kent Cooper of Niceville, FL, Jeff Cooper of Steinhatchee, FL, Bareny Cooper and Ricky Cooper of Salem, FL.
A memorial service was held April 5th at 2:00 p.m. at the Suwannee River Baptist Church in Old Town, Florida, with Reverend Bobby Lindsey conducting the services.
In lieu of flowers, you are asked to please make a contribution to the Dixie County Educational Foundation.
All arrangements were under the care of Watson Funeral Home 426 W. Wade Street, Trenton, FL.

Clarence Edward (Punk) Clark
Mr. Clarence Edward (Punk) Clark of Cross City passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at his home. He was 87 years old. He was a lifetime resident of Dixie County, a member of the Church of God in Cross City, a veteran of US Navy in WWII, and was Chief of Police of Cross City from 1955 to 1972.
He is survived by his son, Gene Clark of Green Cove Springs, FL; daughters, Ann Saye and Beth Dees both of Cross City; 4 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Clark were held Sunday, April 2, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Church of God in Cross City with Rev. Ed Ivey officiating. Burial followed at the Cross City Cemetery. A visitation was held Saturday, April 1, 2006 between the hours of 6-8 PM at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home.
Arrangements were placed under the care of the Rick Gooding Funeral Home, Hwy 19, Cross City, FL.

Buell “Stan” Standridge, Jr.
Mr. Buell “Stan” Standridge, Jr. of Cross City passed away unexpectedly at his home Thursday, April 8, 2004 at the age of 61. Born in Arkansas, Mr. Standridge moved to Cross City in 1967. He was employed at Scogggins Chevrolet in Chiefland. Mr. Standridge was a former City Manger of Cross City, former City Council member and formerly belonged to the Rotary and Lions Clubs. He served his country in the United States Navy and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cross City.
He is survived by his wife Jan Standridge of Cross City; sons, Terry Standridge of Bronson and Marc Standridge of Old Town; daughter Stephanie Standridge of Cross City; brothers, Duwayne Standridge of Dexter, MO and Cecil Standridge of Sacramento, CA; sister Iylene Miller of Fisk, MO and four grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday, April 12, 2004 at 2:00pm at the Cross City Cemetery with Rev. Jake Cravey officiating. Arrangements were under the care of Rick Gooding Funeral Home, Cross City, (352) 498-5400.

Sidney J. Hines
Mr. Sidney J. Hines passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at the Cross City Rehabilitation Center. He was 75 years of age. Mr. Hines was a lifetime resident of Dixie County, where he was a painter.
Mr. Hines is survived by his daughter, Margaret Corbin of Jena, FL; sisters, Dot Gee of Cross City, FL, Blanche Roberts of Gainesville, FL, and Catherine Ramella of Hollywood, FL. He has two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Hines.
A graveside service was held on Friday, April 7, 2004, at 3:00pm at the Cross City Cemetery with Rev. Billy Robson officiating.
Arrangements were under the care of Rick Gooding Funeral Home in Cross City, FL, (352) 498-5400.
