Tatum Jean Revis
May 13 – July 20, 2004
Tatum Jean Revis was born at Shands of Jacksonville on May 13,2004. She weighed 1 lb., 12 oz. and was 12.5 inches long. Tatum received her halo from the Lord on July 20, 2004.
Tatum was with us on this earth for sixty-seven short days, and used each hour of every day to teach us about bravery, the true meaning of courage, and the bottomless depth of love. Tatum faced adversity with strength and grace. Regardless of the illness, the pain or suffering, she always opened her eyes to gaze upon the faces of Mom and Dad and communicate to them her love, her trust, her devotion. After sixty-seven days of struggle, our Lord said, “That’s enough, child,” and called her home.
We are unable to express in words our gratitude to the Nurses of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Shands of Jacksonville. You were given a small and vulnerable soul, you lifted her banner high and went to war. You joined hands with God, with us, and with each other to ferociously fight every battle. You fought as hard as you could for her, with her. You fought for her in the beginning, and you were fighting for her in the end. You cried with us, you held us, you loved our baby as though she were your own. We thank you, Seandre. We thank you, Christy. We thank you, Ellen. We thank you, Wendy. God will bless each of you, for you truly are his angels on earth.
Thank you, Tatum, for enriching our lives. We were honored to know and love you, we stood and were humbled by your presences. Thank you, God, for blessing us so greatly with the gift of this child.
Tatum is survived by her parents, Troy and Roxanne Revis; brother Peyton Revis; maternal grandparents Johnny and Glenda Copeland; paternal grandparents Greg and Linda Revis; maternal great-grandparent Caswell Akins; paternal great-grandparent Betty Brock; uncles Robby, Greg, Jr., and Marty; aunts Kristie, Cagney and Cassidy; and numerous great-aunts and uncles.
