Sue Ann Harrison Mustard
Sue Ann Harrison Mustard, 57, ended her year-long battle with pancreatic cancer on Monday, December 13, 2010. To everyone who knew her, family, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances, she was exceptionally kind, gracious, strong, and fearless. She was born in Waycross, Georgia but lived most of her life at the Beaches where she graduated from Fletcher Junior and Senior High Schools and received her Bachelor’s in English Education from Jacksonville University. After a brief time as a flight attendant for Delta, traveling the world, she began her 20 year career at PGA Tour Travel. During her tenure, she moved from agent to director. All her life, Sue was considered to be a woman with an open heart, firm mind, protecting power, and delicate touch. She will be missed by everyone she ever met and in whose memory she will always remain.
She is predeceased by her parents, Kane Fukuda and James Harrison and her brother Jim. She is survived by her daughters, Erin Jessica and Alden Ann; sister-in-law, Vi Chaires Harrison; and niece Kirby Harrison.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 17th at Beaches Chapel. All are welcome. Please dress in casual attire.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made to Beaches Chapel, 610 Florida Blvd., Neptune Beach, FL 32266 or to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to fund research and awareness of this disease, at www.pancan.org.

Brian Douglas Christy
Brian Douglas Christy, 48, a resident of Jacksonville Beach, FL, passed away Friday, December 31, 2010. He was born on October 7, 1962 in Jacksonville, FL. Brian was a life-long resident of Jacksonville Beach. He was Owner/President of Christy First Coast Plumbing, Inc. Brian was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Brian was an avid sports fan and loved the Florida Gators and the Jacksonville Jaguars. He had the biggest heart anyone has ever known and loved his Jacksonville Beach community and residents. He was a local business owner that never said no to his customers. He loved to laugh and play hard! The Ritz Bar will never be the same. His barstool is legendary!!
He is survived by his wife, Julie, sons Chanc and Lee, daughters Jennifer and Brooke, grandson Anthony, grandmother, Shirley E. Ball, mother and father, Mildred McCormick and Thomas Christy, sister and brother-in-law, Dawn and John Braasch and sister, Melanie Zambrano.
A Memorial Service will be held today, Wednesday, January 5 at 11 am in Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Pastor Dana Brones officiating. A celebration of life will be held Friday, January 7 beginning at 5 pm at The Ritz Bar.

Pierce Breckenridge Huete
May 3, 1989 - February 8, 2014
U.S. Veteran - Pierce Breckenridge Huete, born May 03, 1989, passed away February 08, 2014. He was 24. Pierce was born and raised in Houston, Texas and graduated from Lamar High School in 2007. Pierce joined the Navy in 2010 and was stationed in Mayport, FL. Pierce lived in Jacksonville, FL where he met and lived with his wife, Cassandra R Huete, who he married on November 11, 2011.
MMFN Pierce B. Huete took great pride in serving his country and doing his duties correctly. His achievements were many. He was an outstanding air conditioning, refrigeration technician Enginemen and watch stander on The USS Farragut at Naval Station Mayport in Mayport, FL. Pierce had served a 10 month deployment overseas between June and April 2012.
Pierce loved nature and the great outdoors. He took great pride in living a healthy lifestyle. He loved gardening, permaculture, and sustainable living. Pierce grew up on bicycles and rode them his whole life. He was the first in the nation for BMX as a child. Everyone knew Pierce for his incredible intellect. He loved reading, had a thirst for knowledge and planned to attend college after leaving the Navy. He longed to do something meaningful and great for the world.
Pierce is survived by his loving wife of over 2 years, Cassandra R Huete and his loving family: father, Dr. Kenneth Huete; mother, Ann Bott and her husband, Don Bott; brother, Neal Huete and his sisters, Kristine Huete and Darci Burroughs; four nieces and one nephew. Pierce will also be very missed by his shipmates and his ship will also feel the effect of the loss of this hardworking sailor.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at The Chapel on Mayport Naval Base. Black attire is to be expected, especially by civilians. Military dress uniform is an acceptable option for military attending. Arrangements are made by his wife, The US Navy and Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home.

Mrs. Laura Brandel
September 8, 1939 - July 19, 2012
Jacksonville, Florida - Laura Brandel, 72, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012.

Wesley Dean Stringfellow
Wesley Dean Stringfellow, 47, passed away on December 20, 2010. He was born on July 21, 1963 in Brinkhaven, Ohio. He grew up in Jacksonville Beach, was a Lifeguard in the American Red Cross Volunteer Life Saving Corp in Jacksonville Beach and graduated from Fletcher High School in 1982. Upon graduation from high school, he joined the United States Army and served his country for four years. After his discharge from the Army, Wesley returned to Jacksonville Beach where he worked for the city for many years. At the time of his death, Wesley was employed by Sante Fe Construction of Northeast Florida.
He is predeceased by his mother, Betty Chattaway, and his infant son, Brian Daniel Stringfellow.
He leaves behind his wife, Cydnie, sons, Brandon Schmitt, Bradley Stringfellow and Nathan Longshore, daughter, Krissanna Hirsch and her husband Cody, step-children, Adrena and Taylor Forrest, grandson Layden Stringfellow, father, Bill Chattaway, sisters, Patti Butler and Alicia Strayer, brother, Jeff Stringfellow and nieces Jessica and Jennifer Butler.
Wesley was well-known at the beach and was loved dearly by his family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross Volunteer Life Saving Corp in Jacksonville Beach, 2 Oceanfront North, Jax Bch, FL 32250.
Arrangements are under the direction of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach.

David C. Blanton
Funeral services for David C. Blanton, 81, who died November 4, 2011, will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32206 with Rev. Frank J. Pintello Jr., and Rev. Buddy Wimberly officiating. Interment in Evergreen cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Blanton was born in Perry, Florida and was a longtime resident of Jacksonville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, the late Georgia Marie White Blanton; son, Terry Gene Blanton, sister, Charadee Blanton and brother, Rubin Blanton. Survivors include his 2 special friends, Mrs. Martha O’Neal and Mrs. Nancy Manning. 1 daughter, Brenda Gale Blanton Browning; 1 son, C. Gary Blanton (Georgeann); 4 sisters, Della Mae Saddler (Harvey), Emily Townsend (Tommy), Susie McNutt, and Linda Mann (Gene); 6 brothers, R. M. Blanton (Ann), Herbert Blanton, Johnny Blanton (Mary), Bruce Blanton, Bill Blanton (Lynn) and Wendell Blanton (Sharon); 1 granddaughter, Rhonda Gail Blanton; 3 grandsons, David Blanton (Danielle), Jason Browning and Christopher Browning; 1 great-great-grandson, Ian Blanton.

Mrs. Billie S. Seay
November 14, 1925 - January 28, 2013
Jacksonville, Florida - Mrs. Billie S. Seay, 87, entered into rest on January 28, 2012. She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Seay and son, Henry Seay. She is survived by her loving extended family and adoring church family.
Guests will be received on Thursday, January 31, 2013 form 6-8:00pm in the parlor at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 11:00am at Southpoint Baptist Church, 3335 Tiger Hole Road, Jacksonville, FL with a committal in Arlington Park cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida at www.communityhospice.com

John H. P. Helms
Mr. John H. P. Helms, of Merritt Island, Florida passed away on January 6. He was born on September 16, 1931 and was 79 years old. John served the beaches area with his general law practice for over 26 years.
John is survived by his three children, David Helms, Charlotte Kozlin and Carmen Pearson, and his son-in-law Daniel Pearson and his long time partner, Nella Daly. He had six grandchildren and other family members.
John served two tours of duty in the US Army and was a Korean War Veteran serving as a paratrooper and front line medic from the age of 18, and received a purple heart and other medals. John helped many people at the beaches with all aspects of legal care from criminal law to divorce, estate and adoption and was a dedicated defense attorney. He began his training as a state prosecutor. He loved his country and spent his last years enjoying sunrises on the Banana River where he lived, writing, painting, playing guitar, watching politics and visiting children and grandchildren.
John received a military service at the Bay Pines Veterans cemetery in St. Pete Beach, Florida on January 14, 2011.

Beverly Ann Siemek Bomar
Beverly Ann Siemek Bomar, 56, died at her home in Jacksonville, Florida on February 7, 2011. She will be remembered by her friends and family for her infectious laugh, her vivacious spirit and her quiet compassion.
Bev was born in June 1954 in Fullerton, Nebraska. She was raised with her five brothers and her sister in Columbus, Nebraska where she graduated from Columbus High School in 1972. After graduation, Bev attended Platte Community College while working for the Nebraska Public Power District. She moved to Omaha where she continued her education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, worked for Mutual of Omaha and then in the finance department for Richman Gordman Stores. While at Richman Gordman she met and married Nolan Bomar who became and remained her best friend.
Bev and Nolan moved to Richmond, Virginia where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and worked in the tax department for Coopers and Lybrand. Later, Bev and Nolan moved to Overland Park, Kansas, Troy, Michigan and then to Jacksonville, Florida. Most recently, Bev was the Operations Analyst for Hana Financial Group in Ponte Vedra Beach where she worked for over 10 years. She enjoyed playing cards, home remodeling and traveling to spend time with family.
Bev is survived by Nolan, her husband of 24 years, her parents, Alvin (Bud) and Marcie Siemek of Columbus, Nebraska, her sister Pegg Siemek-Asche and husband Jeff of Omaha, Nebraska and brothers Keith Siemek of Omaha, Al and his wife Amy of Omaha, Vern and his wife Willa of Omaha, Ken and his wife Deb of Lincoln, Tim and his wife Connie of Osceola. Bev also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, her mother-in-law, Betty Bomar of Topeka, Kansas and brother-in-law John Bomar and his wife Marilee of Columbia, Missouri and best friends Marsha and Wayne Clifton of Jacksonville.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure or the Jacksonville Humane Society.

Lula Bell Hall
Lula Bell Hall, 56, passed away on Tuesday June 25, 2013. She was the daughter of Grady Lou Hall and the late Jerome Hall. She was born on October 28, 1956 in Quincy, FL.
Lula was the second of seven children and enjoyed her role as the older sister, although in her mind she was still twenty-five and not a year older. She always enjoyed family gatherings and cooking all types of food. Lula was outspoken and did not mind sharing her thoughts. She could make you laugh when you really did not intend to.
Lula attended the public schools of Dougherty County GA. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Geneva, NY.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jerome Hall and two brothers, Willie Lennear and Jimmie Hall.
Lula is survived by her loving son, Jordan Watts; a special devoted partner, Clarence Miller; her mother, Grady Lou Hall; brothers, John Hall (Vickie) of Middleburg, FL, and Albert Hall of Albany, GA; sisters, Emma Stokes (David) of Albany, and Aretha Hall of Jacksonville, FL; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Lula is gone, but special memories of her will always be with her family and friends.
A service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, (904) 264-1233. A viewing will be held Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service, also at the funeral home.

Tiffany Ann Swanson
December 1, 1969 - February 16, 2014
Tiffany Ann Swanson, 44, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014. A native of Dallas, TX, she had lived in New Jersey and Williamsport, PA and moved to Jacksonville about 1995. Mrs. Swanson was a member of Oceanway Assembly of God and loved ministering to the middle and high school girls. Tiffany was preceded in death by her sister, Michelle Rae McGeeney. Survivors include her husband, Ronald Swanson; Father, Michael “Grumpy” McGeeney (Barbara); mother, Karen McGeeney (Don); three daughters, Chelsea Hamner (Zachary), Shannon “Shananay” Roles and Emma Swanson; two sons, Shane Roles and Ryan Swanson; two brothers, Shawn McGeeney (Angie) and Michael McGeeney; many other loving family and dear friends. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, February 20, in the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue, with Pastor Jimmy Williams and Pastor Billy Bray officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the National Kidney Foundation of Florida at www.kidneyfla.org

Antoinette “Toni” Bithos Brown
Antoinette “Toni” Bithos Brown, passed on to be with the Lord on February 5, 2011. Born June 18, 1921 in Chicago, IL. Toni resided at Pablo Towers on Jacksonville Beach for the past eleven years. During her life there she served as the Vice President and President of the Residents Auxiliary Association and was currently the Membership Chairman.
Survived by her daughters Marian (Dallas) Clapsaddle of Jacksonville, FL and Nora (Stroud) Thomison of Marietta, GA; sons, Aaron (Darlene) Brown of Pace, FL and William Brown of Louisiana; former daughter-in-law, Tammy Walker of Milton, FL; sisters, Adrian Goundas of Chicago, IL, Beatrice Nordmeyer of Bloomington, MN and Mercedes Jarvis of Santa Rosa, CA; brother, George Bithos of Tinley Park, IL; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and many loving friends at Pablo Towers. Toni was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Brown, with whom she spent 46 years of marriage in Pensacola, FL; her mother and father, Harry and Mary Bithos of Pensacola; sisters, Athena Mugno, Shirley Steckhan; and a brother, William Bithos.
A private family service was held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Toni’s name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA, 22312.

Ruth A. Atkinson
Ruth A. Atkinson passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013. Ruth was born on January 28, 1947 in Grafton, WV, daughter of the late Francis A. and Mary H. Smith.
Ruth was a homemaker extraordinaire and a member of Kingsley Avenue Church of Christ. She supported the National Diabetes Foundation. Ruth enjoyed traveling, jewelry designing, crafting and visiting theme parks.
She is survived by her loving husband, Donnie R. Atkinson; son, Rodney A. Kapel; and sister, Wanda J. Ely.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Jacksonville National cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL. 32218.
Services are entrusted to Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, (904) 264-1233.
