William ''Bill'' Spears, 89, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at Ball Memorial Hospital. Mr. Spears was born in Richmond, Ind., and was a former longtime resident of Eaton, Ind. He had lived the past five years in Inverness. Mr. Spears was a self employed roofing and siding contractor for many years. He was a former member of the Menis Ministries of Inverness. He also was a former member of the Agape Church of Muncie, Ind. Mr. Spears was an avid fisherman. Survivors include three sons, Gary L. (Beth) of Hendersonville, Tenn., Russell R. (Solange) of Chevy Chase, Md., and William ''Jack'' (Cindy) of Yorktown, Ind.; one daughter, Lisa L. Edington of Crystal Lake; one brother, Robert J. of Muncie, Ind.; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Isabelle in 1998; a son, Roger K., in 1991; and a brother, Clint, in 1991. Juanita B. Brown, 86, of Inverness, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at the Citrus Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Kansas City, Mo., on Dec. 27, 1914, to Charles and Laura (Day) Frazier, she came here in 1998 from Independence, Mo. She was a retired department store salesperson. She was Presbyterian. Wilma Jean Green, 74, of Dunnellon, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, in Williston. Born in Mary Helen, Ky., She came here 23 years ago from Hampton, Va. She was a retired cafeteria manager. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Survivors include: her husband, James R. Maynard Slayton, 76, of Dunnellon
Maynard L. ‘‘Red’’ Slayton, 76, of Dunnellon, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001. Born in Rice Lake, Wis., he came here 14 years ago from Oconomowoc, Wis. He had worked as a foreman for Wisconsin Centrifugal Foundry in Waukesha, Wis. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an NRA member and belonged to VFW 4864 in Citrus Springs and the American Legion 0318 in Lake Tomahawk, Wis. Jean Elizabeth Dominiak, 74, of Inverness died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000. She was born Jan. 20, 1925, in Buffalo, N.Y., to William and Annie Broom. Mrs. Dominiak moved to Florida 14 years ago from Alexander, N.Y. She was a retired registered nurse for the Veterans Administration Hospital of Bativia, N.Y. with 18 years of service. She was a member of the Women of the Moose (West Marion Lodge), American Legion 155 Auxiliary, Polish Falcons Nest 493 and Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband of 52 years,, Peter A. Dominiak of Inverness; two sons, Lester A. Dominiak of Orange Park and William P. Lewis E. Edmondson, 89, of Inverness, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000. Born in Louisville, Md., he came to Inverness 24 years ago from Sykesville, Md. Mr. Edmondson was a heavy equipment operator who worked in the construction industry. He was Methodist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Clingman Edmondson, who died Sept. 19, 1976. Survivors include three sons, Donald Edmondson of Miami, Elvin E. Edmondson of Eldersburg, Md., and Leroy H. He was a retired mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II. He was an avid golfer. Dominic A. Panarisi, 66, of Lecanto died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000. Born in Chicago, Ill., he came to Lecanto seven years ago from Tinley Park, Ill. He was a United Parcel Service manager. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in the Korean conflict. He was a member and vice commander of Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla No. 15-4. He was a member of the Inverness Elks Lodge. He was a member of the board of directors and also a volunteer at the Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park. He was Catholic. Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Wendt Panarisi, Lecanto; four sons, Donald A. Panarisi of Memphis, Tenn., Michael T. Panarisi of Montgomery, Ala., Todd R. Misch of Chicago, Ill., and Robert L. A native of Hartford, Conn., she came here two years ago from Lawrenceville, Ga. She retired in 1995 as a senior new business analyst with Aetna Life and Casualty Insurance Company, Middletown, Conn. She was active in community affairs at Arborlakes. She was a real ''people person'' and a friend to all who wanted one. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Goldman, who died in 1999. She is survived by her husband, John E. Marjorie M. Abrams, 49, of Hernando died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. She was born Nov. 4, 1950, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. She moved here from Glen Falls, N.Y., 11 years ago. She was employed as a diving coach for Lecanto High School. She was a member of St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto. She was a member of American Cancer Society-Volunteer and Seminoles Booster Club. She is survived by her husband, Peter Abrams of Hernando; two sons, Seth Abrams of Los Angeles, Calif., and Jason Abrams of Minneapolis, Minn.; one daughter, Kelli Abrams of Tallahassee; two brothers, Gary Hughes of Denver, Colo., and Terry Hughes of Redondo Beach, Calif.; and one sister, Juth DelSignore of Sparta, N.Y. He served in the Navy and the Army during World War II. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 8698 in Inglis and the Auto Workers. He owned a pressure-cleaning business. He was an Army veteran who served during both the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a retired comptroller for the U.S. Navy Aviation Supply Office in Philadelphia. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 84th Division and the 970th Counter Intelligence Corps. detachments. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Abbot Francis Sadler Council 6168, and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Francis Cardinal Spellman Assembly 1547. Born in Bedford, N.H., on Nov. 26, 1928, to the late Louis and Louise (Collette) Levesque, she came here in 1988 from Manchester, N.H. She was a retired shoe worker and a homemaker. She was a devoted Christian, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerard Thibault, who died July 26, 1995.
