Carolyn Zuccaro, 58, of Brooksville, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at the Brooksville Regional Hospital. Born in Long Island, N.Y., on Aug. 29, 1942, she moved to Brooksville several years ago from Inverness. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Inverness. She was preceded in death by her father, Santi Zuccaro, on Oct. 6, 1987. Surviving are her mother, Mary (Zuccaro of Crystal River, and sister, Catherine Zuccaro of Dade City. Chas. E. Carol H. Aikens, 63, of Beverly Hills died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness. She was a native of Rutland, Vt., and came here from Sterling, Mass., 10 years ago. She was Episcopal and a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church in Lecanto. She was a member of the New England Social Club of Beverly Hills, the Beverly Hills Fishing Club and the Suncoast Senior Bowling League. She was a retired book store manager for the Groton School in Groton, Mass. Surviving are her husband, Harry J. Aikens, of Beverly Hills; one son, Peter Aikens, of Edmonds, Wash.; two daughters, Suzanne Rand, of Litchfield, N.H., and Deborah Vaughan, of Bristol, Conn.; one aunt, Edith Briggs, of Brandon, Vt.; one uncle, William Givens, of Concord, N.H.; four grandchildren, Christopher Rand, Rebecca Rand, Natalie Vaughan and Preston Aikens.

Dorothy Cardy, 81, of Homosassa
Dorothy May Cardy, 81, of Homosassa died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000. She was born in Philadelphia, Penn., moved to Sebring in 1974. She moved to Homosassa in 1997 from Sebring. She was Baptist. She was the wife of the late Clarence Cardy, who preceded her in death Sept. 2, 1992. Surviving are her daughter, Dorothy May Radcliffe, of Homosassa; two grandchildren, Debbie Radcliffe, of Sycamore, Ill., and Robert R. Radcliffe, of Iowa City, Iowa; and three great-grandchildren. He came here two years ago from Winter Haven. He was a retired event service technician. He was Catholic. He was a member of the Cocoa Beach Chamber of Commerce. Vincent San Gallo, 69, of Homosassa died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, under the loving care of Hospice of Citrus County and his family. He was born in New York City, N.Y., and came to Homosassa six years ago from Spring Hill. He moved to Spring Hill in 1988 from Commack, N.Y. He was a retired salesman for Thrift Pack Foods. He attended the Church of Jesus Christ, Homosassa. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Surviving are his wife, Mary Assenza San Gallo, of Homosassa; three sons, Charles (Elizabeth) Pugliesi, of Crystal River, Raymond Pugliesi, of San Bruno, Calif., John (Christine) San Gallo, of North Babylon, NY; two daughters, Anne Marie (Allan) Zarek and Lisa (Michael) Flanders, both of Homosassa; a sister, Jenny Orlando, of Melbourne; and seven grandchildren. Fred Hurlbut, 94, of Crystal River died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, at River Oaks Assisted Living Facility. He was born in Green Bay, Wisc., June 25, 1906, to Mortimer and Frances Vrabel Hurlbut and came to Florida five years ago from Oakland, Calif. He was a retired chef from Bow & Bell Restaurant, Oakland, Calif. He was the husband of the late Lucille Karch Hurlbut and father of the late Joseph Raymond Hurlbut. He was loved greatly and will be missed. Surviving are his son, James Hurlbut, of Isleton, Calif.; a daughter, Roberta Lucille Elftman, of Hernando; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. George Laage, 78, of Beverly Hills
George A. Laage, 78, of Beverly Hills died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000. He was born in Baltimore, Md., and came here from Palatka nine years ago. He was a retired missile supervisor for the civil service. He was Methodist. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the Navy Tin Can Sailors, V.F.W. Post and Masonic Lodge of Homestead. Surviving are his wife Mildred V. Laage, of Beverly Hills; one son, George M. Laage, of Jacksonville; three daughters, Sheila Thompson, of Naples, Sandra Hewey, of Potsdam, N.Y., and Charlotte Beach, of Jacksonville; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Harold J. Lane, 50, of Crystal River died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at Cypress Cove Care Center in Crystal River. He was born in West Virginia and lived in Crystal River for the last 10 years. Edwin Osoling, 74, of Anthony
Edwin Osoling, 74, of Anthony died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, at Mariner Health Care Center of Inverness. He was born in Saugus, Mass., on July 3, 1926, to the late John and Alvina (Seed) Osoling. He relocated to Florida and lived in the Clearwater-Largo area for 30 years, where he was a renowned designer of fine residential homes. Following retirement he moved to Homosassa and worked part-time as a residential designer and consultant until his illness. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0400, Homosassa and was a decorated World War II veteran. He served in the Navy as a radioman/top turret gunner for PB4Y-2 ‘‘Privater’’ in the Pacific and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal (four Gold Stars), Air Crew Insignia (three Gold Stars) and other ribbons and stars. Surviving are two sons, Gary (Cindy) Osoling, of Orlando, Glenn (Karen) Osoling, of Dunedin; one daughter, Nancy (James) Mewis, of Anthony; two sisters, Alvina Batchelder, of Grass Valley, Calif. and Alma Milbery, of Lynn, Mass.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Osoling, Chelsea Osoling and Matthew Mewis; and one great-granddaughter, Casey Osoling. Stanley Douglas Underwood, 68, of Dunnellon died at home Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, under the loving care of his family. A native of Waynesville, N.C., he was born June 27, 1932, to Charles and Stella Underwood. He moved to Dunnellon six years ago from Homestead. He retired from the Bell South Telephone System as a manager with 25 years of service. He was a member of River Gardens Baptist Church. He was a Naval Korean War veteran and member of American Legion Post 155. Born in Providence, R.I., he came here 16 years ago from Wethersfield, Conn. He was a retired engineer for Stanley Works Manufacturing of New Britain, Conn. He was Lutheran. Lawrence Bailey, 79, of Punta Gorda, died on Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, in Punta Gorda. A native of Hartford, Ky., he was a retired production inspector. He served in the U.S. Army. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia Coder, who died March 28, 1998; her sister, Sarah Gil; and her husband, the Rev. William F. Kilpatrick, who died Feb. 9, 1979. Louella Chapman, 84, formerly of Inverness
Louella ‘‘Pearl’’ Chapman, 84, of Lexington, S.C., died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, in the Lexington Extended Care Medical Center. A native of Macon County, Ill., she was born June 29, 1916, to Walter J. and Ora (Christison) Kepner. She came to Inverness in 1980 from Decatur, Ill., where she owned and operated a farm with her late husband, Charles ‘‘Shorty’’ Chapman, who preceded her in death April 25, 1996. She moved to Lexington four years ago to be near her daughter. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Inverness and the Ladies of the Moose Auxiliary. Surviving are her daughter, Donna Kay Little and her husband Tom of Columbia, S.C.; one grandson, Tod Little and his wife Adele of Columbia, S.C.; and two great-grandchildren, Jessica and Kristen Little. Born in Providence, R.I., he came here 16 years ago from Wethersfield, Conn., and was a retired engineer for Stanley Works Manufacturing of New Britain, Conn. He was Lutheran. Surviving are his wife, Charlotte C. Fisher of Sugarmill Woods; one son, Robert M. and wife Barbara Fisher of Amhurst, N.H.; and two grandchildren, Katherine and Christopher Fisher. She was predeceased by her husband, Christian Nosbisch, in 1976. Robert Barr, 90, of Inverness
Robert Link ‘‘Bob’’ Barr, 90, of Inverness died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, in the Spanish Gardens Nursing and Convalescent Center of Dunedin. A native of Paris, Ill., he was born May 28, 1910, to Karl and Bess (Link) Barr. He moved to Florida 28 years ago from Libertyville, Ill. He was the retired owner and operator of Blazon Inc., a plastics manufacturing firm in Mundelein, Ill. Prior to moving to Florida, he was an active member of the Libertyville Rotary Club, where he served as president and past governor of District 6440. He was also the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award and member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness and the Inverness Rotary Club. Surviving are one son, Robert Link Barr Jr. of Dunedin; two daughters, Jean G. Barr of Downers Grove, Ill., and Kathryn Barr of Long Beach, Calif.; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
