Annabelle E. Gushak, 82, of Citrus Springs died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at Life Care Center in Lecanto. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Jan. 25, 1918, to Mary Ann and Edward S. Earnest. She moved here from Homestead, Pa., 27 years ago. She retired from the Pittsburgh Board of Education as a school secretary. She was a member of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in Citrus Springs, where she was a member of the Altar Guild, Women of the ELCA, former organist at Hope Lutheran and a member of the Organist Guild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Gushak. She is survived by two sisters, Sylvia Prokop of Spring Hill and Heloise Lahner of North Huntington, Pa. Brown Funeral Home, Crystal River.

Robert E. Hall, 78, of Homosassa
Robert E. Hall, 78, of Homosassa died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River. Born in Tennessee, he came here 10 years ago from Pontiac, Mich., and was a retired heavy equipment operator. Mr. Hall was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 112 in Wayne, Mich. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. Hall, Nov. 27, 2000. Surviving are three sons, Stewart Hall of Branson, Mo., Clarence Hall of Michigan and David Hall of Pontiac, Mich.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Richard Stephen Kanter, 58, of Inverness died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and came to Inverness in 1972 from Parma, Ohio. He was a pipe fitter and a member of the Pipefitters Local No. 120, Cleveland, Ohio. He was a member of the Inverness Church of God. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Joy Acker Kanter of Inverness; two sons, Richard S. Kanter Jr. and Michael E. Kanter, both of Inverness; one daughter, Katherine M. Kanter of Inverness; and two grandchildren, Jessica and Jocelyne Childs, both of Inverness.

Holland ‘‘Mac’’ McKee Price, 83, of Homosassa died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000. He was born in Shepherdstown, W Va., and came to Homosassa four years ago from Frederick, Md. He was retired from the Allegany County Board of Education as director of finance. He was Protestant. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth ‘‘Betty’’ Hutzelle Price of Homosassa; daughter, Frances Price Doherty of Frederick, Md.; two brothers, Kirkland S. Angela Sackler, 87, of Inverness died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at Surrey Place Convalescent Center in Lecanto. Born in New York City on March 28, 1913, to Charles and Josephine (Orlando) Vacarro, she came here more than 25 years ago from Miami. She was a retired hotel physical therapist. She was Catholic. Irene Sutton, 66, of Crystal River
Irene Crystal Sutton, 66, of Crystal River died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at the Hospice House of Gainesville. She was born in Crystal River Dec. 28, 1933, to the late Warren Jacob and Alta (Snyder) Bunts. She was a lifelong resident. She was part of the original Carnival Company that wintered here on what is now known as ‘‘Bunt’s Point.’’ She had many other interests in her life, including being a mate on the ‘‘Sunny Skies’’ party boat and owning a chicken farm and a gas station in Crystal River. She was also a commercial fishing guide for a time. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Sutton, in 1986. She is survived by her son, William David Oliver and wife Deborah of Radford, Va.; two daughters, Jan and husband Alan Zak of Gainesville and Irene Alta and husband George Cross of Crystal River; a brother, Walter and his wife Lucille Bunts of Crystal River; stepsons, Jackie and Doug Sutton and stepdaughter, Ellie Parrish; and countless grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wesley W. Braisted, 85, of Lecanto died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000. He was born in Staten Island, N.Y., and came to Lecanto in June 1998 from Chapel Hill, N.C. He was a retired attorney with Braisted & Braisted Law Firm in Staten Island, N.Y., which was established in 1890. He was a member of the University First United Methodist Church, Chapel Hill, N.C. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Roberta Elizabeth Townsend Braisted of Lecanto; son, Lawrence E. Robert Calvin, 77, of Citrus Hills
Robert Watson Calvin, 77, of Brentwood in Citrus Hills died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, on Sept. 30, 1923, to O.W. and Catherine Calvin, he came here 30 years ago from Salem, Ohio. He was a retired general supervisor with U.S. Steel in Youngstown with more than 16 years of service. He was a former member of the Salem Golf Club. He was Lutheran. Bill Edwards, 84, of Inglis
Bill Early Edwards, 84, of Inglis died Monday evening, Dec. 4, 2000, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River. Born in Pomeroy, Wash., on Feb. 25, 1916, to Chalker and Bertha (Lonon) Edwards, he came to this area six years ago from Quitman, Ga. He was a retired civil engineer for the U.S. Government and for Smalley-Welford & Nevin Engineering in Dade County. He was instrumental in helping start the Withlacoochee Area Residents (WAR) in Inglis. He was an avid sailor and model boat builder. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was a past member of the American Legion in Marathon. He was Methodist. He was preceded in death by one son, Bill J. Edwards, in February 1968, and one daughter, Barbara Edwards, in April 1999. Surviving are his loving wife of 49 years, Jane Edwards of Inglis; two sons, Michael David Edwards of Raleigh, N.C., and Jesse Edwards of Inglis; one daughter, Bertha E. Cassidy of Inglis; two sisters, Nellie McQuire of Seattle, Wash., and Sobina Lynthcom of Richmond, Va.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Alphonse Lawrence Gustitis, 85, of Inverness died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, in Brentwood Health Care Center. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., he was born May 18, 1915, to Lawrence and Elizabeth Gustitis. He moved to Florida 21 years ago from Huntington, Long Island, N.Y. He was a retired custodian for the North Shore Schools and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Surviving are one daughter, Margaret Kruppo of Delancey, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Tracy and Scott; and one great-grandchild, Megan. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Eleanor Gustitis. Born in Blanchard, Mich., on Jan. 21, 1910, to John and Mary (Demlow) Dargitz, she came here 27 years ago from Midland, Mich. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness. She was a member of the Inverness Golf and Country Club. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Vendale Lundquist, Nov. 18, 1994, and J.T. Lundquist, Oct. 25, 1980. Surviving are two sons, J.T. Lundquist of Hedgesville, W.Va., and Benjamin Lundquist of Grand Rapids, Mich.; one daughter, Barbara Barron of Astoria, Ore.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her companion, Owen Eaton of Inverness. She was a retired secretary and worked for Grumman and law offices. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Beverly Hills, the Catholic Women’s Club, the church choir and the Golden Age Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bruy, April 6, 1973. Surviving are her daughter, Concetta ‘‘Connie’’ Bruy Coyne and her husband, Edward Coyne of N. Orrin Fox, 77, of Albion, Mich.
Orrin Charles Fox, 77, of Albion, Mich., died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at Trillium Hospital. He was born in Emmett Township on March 13, 1923, to Mort and Bessie Fox. He owned and operated a rare stamp and coin collecting store for 25 years. He served in World War II for the United States Army. He was a life member of Michigan Old Time Fiddler’s Association, Home Grange of Emmett Township, Uncle Carl’s Dulcimer Club and he enjoyed traveling, spending his winters in Florida since 1986, gardening and bird watching. On Nov. 18, 1995, he married Dorothy Fox, she survives. Other survivors are: two daughters, Cynthia and Marilyn; four stepdaughters, Joyce Coburn, JoAnn Generi, both of Albion, Mich., Jeanie Brown of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Judy Stephens of Allen, Ky.; and one stepson, Jack Oliphant of Albion, Mich. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Inverness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F. Kunzler, Nov. 24, 1992.
