Frank Davis, 62, of Inverness
Frank James Davis, 62, of Inverness died at home on Sunday, Feb. 20. 2000, under the loving care of his family and Hospice. A native of Watertown, N.Y., he was born on June 29, 1937. He moved to Inverness seven years ago from Cape Vincent, N.Y. He was a retired supervisor in the paper finishing division of east Kodak of Rochester, N.Y., with 26 years of service. He was an armed forces veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. His affiliations included the Knights of Columbus, Inverness Elks No. 2552, Inverness Moose No. 2112, Eagles Aeries No. 3992 and the American Legion. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Hospice of Citrus County. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; one son, Christopher J. Catherine Rooney, 69, of St. Petersburg died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at her home. She was born in Providence, R.I., and came to St. Petersburg from Warwick, R.I. She was a retired dry cleaner. She was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Providence, R.I., the Women of the Church, EWTN Catholic Television and a benefactor of the Basilica of the Natural Shrine of Immaculate Conception. She enjoyed traveling to Foxwoods Casino. She was preceded in death by four children, Robert F. Bishop III, David E. Bishop, James F. Bishop and Catherine Lucy Redmond, and she was predeceased by six brothers. She is survived by three sons, Jack Bruce Bishop of Cranston, R.I., John Francis Toolin and Gerard Michael Toolin, both of Warwick, R.I.; three daughters, Barbara Ann Guitard of Warwick, R.I., Karen Lee Perkins of St. Petersburg and Regina Theresa Frias of Beverly, Mass.; a brother, Wilbur Barth of Texas; three sisters, Margaret Richardson of Warwick, R.I., Inza Thibault of Warwick, R.I. and Anna Burns of Providence, R.I.; 24 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Joan A. Schwartz, 69, of Beverly Hills died Saturday, Feb. 19, at her residence under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Citrus County. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and came here from Fort Lauderdale 19 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Schwartz, who died Dec. 2, 1996. She is survived by two sons, Edward C. Burke (FDNY) of Holbrook, N.Y. and James Burke (NYPD) of Manalapan, N.J.; two daughters, Barbara Schwartz of Ocala and Charann Schwartz of Beverly Hills; four grandchildren, Michael, Thomas, Matthew and Timothy of Long Island, N.Y.; one great-granddaughter, Kayla of Long Island, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. Everett Brooks, 82, of Crystal River
Everett Malcolm Brooks, 82, of Crystal River and Chester, Conn., died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000. A graduate of Yale University, class of '39, he was vice president and treasurer of M.S. Brooks and Sons, manufacturer of bright wire goods, until his retirement in 1976. During World War II, he served as a captain in the Air Force as a meteorologist. He was an 18-year resident of Crystal River. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Crystal River Power Squadron, the Seven Rivers Golf and Country Club and the Crystal River Rotary Club where he was made a Paul Harris Fellow. He is survived by his wife, Helen Bronson Brooks; a son, David of Chester, Conn.; and two daughters, Nancy Jackman of New York City and Dorothy Newberth of W. Hartford, Conn. Thea Field, 92, of Inglis
Thea Marie Field, 92, of Inglis, died at the home of her loving caretaker, Charman Gisner of Inverness, on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000. Born in San Antonio, Texas, on Jan. 5, 1908, she came to Florida eight years ago from Storrs, Conn. She was retired from the University of Connecticut as an administrator. She was Unitarian. Surviving are her son, John Field of Inglis; brothers, Dr. Walter Goldschmidt of Los Angeles, Calif., and Ambassador Arthur Goldschmidt of Haverford, Pa.; one grandchild, Kim Curry; one great-grandchild, Caleb Curry; three nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. G. Lowell Field, in 1997. Yaeko Mary Fukuchi, 71, of Inverness died at home under the loving care of her family and Hospice on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000. Born in Tokyo, Japan on Sept. 15, 1928, she came to Florida in 1994 from Honolulu, Hawaii. She was a professional art consultant in Hawaii. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Inverness. Her husband, Kohtaro Fukuchi, preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Peter Fukuchi of Eugene, Ore.; one brother, Iwao Nozoe of Japan; five sisters, Etsvko, Yoneko, Kyoko, Ayako, and Shigeko, all of Japan; and her loving companion, Edwin Cobb of Inverness. Lorraine B. Oleksiw, 73, of Beverly Hills died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000. She was born in Hartford, Conn., and came to Beverly Hills 15 years ago from Manchester, Conn. Mrs. Oleksiw was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Beverly Hills. She was sister of the late Vivian Dumond. Surviving are her four sons, John J. Oleksiw of Manchester, Conn., James D. Marjorie N. Raven, 80, of Chassahowitzka died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at Brooksville Regional Hospital. Born in New Jersey, she came here five years ago from St. Petersburg. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Walter A. Raven who died Dec. 4, 1994. She is survived by her son, Noel W. George I. Reed, 62, of Inverness died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000. Born in Pennsylvania, he came here 55 years ago from there. Mr. Reed was a master mechanic. He could fix anything. Frank Roach, 57, of Citrus Hills
Frank Lawrence Roach, Lt. Col. U.S. Army (Ret.), age 57, died in Hernando on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000. He was born Dec. 2, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pa., and came here five years ago from Virginia. He was a veteran of Vietnam and holder of the Soldiers Medal, Bronze Star with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Air Medal, the Combat Infantryman's Badge and numerous other medals and citations. He was a member of the National Officers Association. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Friendship-Williams No. 400, F&AM, Jenkintown, Pa. He was a resident of Citrus Hills and a former property manager. He was Protestant. Clarence Lee Baker, 88, of Crystal River died early Tuesday morning, Feb. 22, 2000, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital. Born April 26, 1911, to Harley and Lizzie (Clark) Baker in Whitley County, Ind., Mr. Baker came here 20 years ago from Wallingford, Pa. Mr. Baker was a retired investment manager for Prudential Real Estate Investment in Philadelphia, Pa., with 40 years of service. He was a member of the Seven Rivers Golf and Country Club in Crystal River. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was Baptist. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Eleanor Baker of Crystal River; two daughters, Jo-Anne Smith of Westchester, Pa., and Janet Jemo of Lawrenceville, Ga.; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one niece and two nephews. She was a retired secretary in public relations. She was a life member and past president of Soroptimist International, S. Lake Tahoe; past president Toastmasters Club, Long Beach, Calif.; founder of Womans and Drug Abuse Center in S. Lake Tahoe and founder of the Tri City Food Bank in Richland, Wash. Bertha Murphy, 87, of Morriston
Bertha May Murphy, 87, of Morriston died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000. She was born in Fairborn, Ohio, and moved to Morriston in 1994 from Clearwater. She was a retired laundry seamstress. She was Pentecostalist. Surviving are five sons, James H. Cade of Morriston, Kenneth Murphy of Tarpon Springs, Bruce Murphy and Larry Murphy both of Nashville, Tenn., and George Murphy of Clearwater; one daughter, Geraldine Poteet of Nashville, Tenn.; and 12 grandchildren. Henry J. ''Bud'' O'Hara, 91, of Citrus Springs died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000. Born in Random Lake, Wis., he came to Citrus Springs 29 years ago from Milwaukee, Wis. He was a retired truck driver for the construction industry. Mr. O'Hara was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Citrus Springs where he was an usher since 1972. He was a charter member of the Teamsters Union No. 200 in Milwaukee, Wis. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians of America. He was a former member of a bowling league at Manatee Lanes in Crystal River. Surviving are his wife, Thresa K. O'Hara of Citrus Springs; son, Michael John O'Hara and wife Beverly of Franklin, Wis.; three daughters, Carol Engel of Citrus Springs, Maureen Landes of Ogema, Wis., and Patricia K. O'Hara of Medford, Wis.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, a brother, and three sisters. Joseph Parsons, 81, of Homosassa
Joseph Frederick Parsons, 81, of Homosassa died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000. He was born in Trenton, N.J., and came to Homosassa five years ago from Lecanto. Mr. Parsons was a retired steam turbine machinist with DeLaval Steam Turbine, Trenton, N.J., for 38 years. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Homosassa Springs. He was a World War II veteran of the Amphibious Engineering Division of the Army. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Marie Woldanski Parsons of Homosassa; two sons, Joseph Richard Parsons of Palm Harbor and William Dennis of Voorhees, N.J.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mattie Paswinski, 90, of Crystal River died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at Cypress Cove Care Center in Crystal River. She was born in London, Ky., and came here three months ago from DeMonte, Ind. She retired from Youngstown Steel after 31 years of service as a cook. She was Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Paswinski, in 1983. She is survived by her daughter, Lois Hall of Shelby, Ind.; a brother, Willard Cottongim of Kentucky; sisters, Peggy Schick of Canton, Ohio, and Edna Gilbert of Portage, Ind.; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
