Russell O. Insko Sr., 79, of Boynton Beach died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, in Boynton Beach. Born in Millersburg, Ky., he moved to Boynton Beach three years ago from Citrus Springs, where he resided for 101/2 years. Mr. Insko was a retired U.S. Army Air Force civil serviceman and a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and served as grand master in Georgia. He was a former member of the Edward W. Penno VFW Post 4864 in Citrus Springs. He was of the Christian faith. He was a former member of the Community Congregation Church in Citrus Springs. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Insko of Boynton Beach; son, Russell O. Herbert Kritzler, 82, of Inverness
Herbert Mather Kritzler, 82, of Inverness died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, under the loving care of his family and Hospice. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., he was born on July 7, 1917, and came to Florida more than 20 years ago. He moved to Citrus County 12 years ago from Sarasota County. Prior to retirement, he was a vice president in the commercial lending department of Prudential Saving Bank of New York. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and participated in the invasion of Normandy. He was a member of American Legion Post 0276 of Englewood. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness. Surviving are his wife, Helen Warren Kritzler of Inverness; one son, Robert Kritzler of Downers Grove, Ill.; two daughters, Susan Hoadley of Dearborn, Mich., and Nancy Kritzler of Cranston, R.I.; two stepsons, Dan Danklefs of Raleigh, N.C., and James Danklefs of Reston, Va.; one stepdaughter, Gretchen Tinsley of Calhoun, Ga.; one brother, Everett Kritzler of Ocala; and one grandson, Timothy Kritzler. Born in Peking, China, on March 7, 1924, to Boyd F. and Kathryn (Straub) Kirby, he came to Citrus County 13 years ago from Miami. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, having served as a photo laboratory technician. He retired from Independent Life Insurance Company in Jacksonville with 21 years of service. He was born in St. Petersburg and moved to Inverness in 1975 and spent the last two and a half years in St. Petersburg before moving back to Inverness in December 1999. He was an automotive mechanic. Roger Norton, 75, of Dunnellon
Roger Wesley Norton, 75, of Dunnellon died Monday, May 15, 2000, at his home in Rainbow Springs under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Marion County. Born in Torrington, Conn., he and his family moved to Florida in 1940. He and his wife, Nancy, became members of the Dunnellon community in 1983. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a first class electrician's mate, after enlisting on his 17th birthday. He retired in 1983 from Bell South Telephone Company after a 36-year career, as a personnel director. Throughout his years in Dunnellon, he had remained active in community affairs, including the Kiwanis Club, Dunnellon Sertoma and the Rainbow Springs Property Owners Association. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dunnellon. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; four children; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters; and many others whose lives he touched. Gordon Rich, 61, of Vancouver, Wash.
Gordon Alan Rich, 61, of Vancouver, Wash., died Monday, May 8, 2000, in Sparks, Nev. He was born in McMinville, Ore., on Dec. 22, 1938. He served in the Navy in affiliation with NATO Forces in 1958 in Beirut, Lebanon. He was a member of the VFW in Vancouver and a member of the Moose Lodge in Vancouver. He was a master technician in the field of air conditioning and refrigeration for more than 35 years. He enjoyed playing the guitar and writing songs, and most of all watching Western movies on television. He is survived by four daughters, Kimberly Rich Quinn of Florida, Cindy Rich, Michelle West and Judith Rich, all of Connecticut, and their mother, Judith E. Rainville Cruthers of Connecticut; a sister, Dorothy Smallwood of Texas; two brothers, Marvin Rich of Washington and Deane Rich of Kentucky; five grandchildren, Victoria Sikorski, 9, JaJai Quinn, 7, and Justin, John and Megan Kimberly ages 4, 2 and infant; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert B. Nestor, 76, of Brookhaven, W.Va., formerly of Citrus County, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, at his residence. He was born July 7, 1923, in Morgantown, W.Va., the son of Clarence G. and Alice Wilson Nestor. He was formerly employed with Consol Coal Company as an electrician with 19 years of service and retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons at the Kennedy Youth Center, also with 19 years of service. He was a World War II veteran having served in Burma, China and India as a ranger. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 9916 of Westover and a member of Rangers Merrill's Marauders. He served as a county commissioner from 1960 until 1968 and was a past commander of CBI. He was a member of Morgantown Union Lodge No. 4 of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons; a 32nd degree Mother Scottish Rite of Freemasonry; The Osiris Temple AAONMS of Wheeling, W.Va.; The Dubor Grotto of Morgantown; The Morgantown Shrine Club and the Morgantown Shrine Club Mountaineer Patrol. Robert Alan (Bob) Irish, 68, of Crystal River died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at his home. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on July 15, 1931, to Eileen and Lavon Irish, he came here 19 years ago from Atlanta. He was a retired U.S. Army major, serving in both the Korean War and Viet-Nam War. He was a member of the Friends of the Homosassa Wildlife Park, a Manatee Watch Volunteer and a volunteer for the National Park Service and the Forestry Service. He was a court mediator volunteer under Judge Mark Yerman and also a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem. His hobbies included canoeing, radio-controlled airplanes, scuba diving, woodworking, golf and talking to animals. Paul W. Lipham, 81, of Crystal River died Monday, May 15, 2000, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River. He was born in Marshall County, Ala., Oct. 2, 1918, to Maggie and Dolphus Lipham. He moved here from Bluntsville, Ala., three weeks ago. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 129, VFW Post 8601 and he was a life member of the DAV, all in Alabama. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Wales, Ala. Surviving are his wife, Wynell; one son, Paul B. of Leeds, Ala.; one daughter, Kathy M. Stiff of Crystal River; one brother, William of Albertville, Ala.; one sister, Thelma Causey of Attalla, Ala.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Brown Funeral Home, Crystal River.

Bonciel Nesmith, 86, of Inglis
Bonciel Marie Nesmith, 86, of Inglis died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, in Inglis. Born in Chipley, she came to Inglis 20 years ago from Tampa. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Inglis Women's Club and Inglis Bridge Club. She was a member of the Community Church of Inglis. She is survived by her daughter, Zada Moyer of Millgrove, Ontario, Canada; three sons, Benton ''Buddy'' Nesmith Jr. and wife Chari of Holder, Arthur Thomas Nesmith and wife Kathy of Tampa, and William Blecker Nesmith and wife Lisa of Inglis; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Robert Pitts, 51, of Istachatta
Robert Alan ''Bobby'' Pitts, 51, of Istachatta, died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. He came to Citrus County in 1975 from his native Pensacola. He was a pricing agent for Golden X Plumbing of Inverness, with more than five years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was an avid golfer and Florida State Seminoles fan. He was a member of the Istachatta Church of Christ. Surviving are his loving wife of nine years, Kathy; son, William A. Pitts of Tallahassee; daughter, Stefanie Pitts of Bushnell; stepdaughter, Donna Steed of Tallahassee; grandmother, Margaret Smith of Istachatta; and one grandson, Lexton Steed. He was preceded in death by his father, William A. Pitts, who died on July 18, 1992; his mother, Flora E. Pitts, who died on April 18, 1997; and his brother, David R. Pitts, who died on Dec. 6, 1994.
