Wanda Lea DePratter, 66, of Crystal River, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Thursday, May 25, 2000, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River. Born in Ameagle, W.Va., on July 30, 1933, to Herman and Opha (Honacker) Hamilton, she came here one year ago from St. Petersburg, where she was co-owner/operator of the N-L Restaurant. She was an avid bowler and held the title of St. Petersburg Womens Bowling Classic for the year 1986. She was a member of the St. Petersburg Bowlers Association and member of Florida Senior Stars. She was Protestant. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Robert DePratter Jr. of Crystal River; one son, Robert DePratter III of Beverly Hills; two brothers, Robert Hamilton and Donnie Hamilton, both of St. Petersburg; one sister, Norma Paquette of Gulf Port; and three grandchildren. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Strickland Funeral Home, Crystal River.

George Kenney, 87, of Inverness
George Walker Kenney, 87, of Inverness died Friday, May 26, 2000. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and came to Inverness in 1971 from Valley Stream, N.Y. Mr. Kenney was retired from the city of Valley Stream Sanitation Department. He also worked for the Citrus County Chronicle. He was a World War II Army veteran and a life member of VFW Post No. 4337 and the DAV Chapter No. 70, both of Inverness. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Hernando. He was the father of the late Miss Susan Kenney, who died in 1974. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Ida Platt Kenney of Inverness; son, George M. Kenney of North Fort Lauderdale; daughter, Barbara Ann (Thomas) Wood of Inverness; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and John P. Kenney; and one great-grandson. Hooper Funeral Home, Inverness.

George Moon Jr., 80, of Ocala
George R. Moon Jr., 80, of Ocala died Thursday, May 25, 2000, in Ocala. Born in Little Rock, Ark., he moved to Ocala in 1975 from St. Petersburg. Mr. Moon was a safety/personnel supervisor for National Gypsum in Port Tampa. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict with 20 years of service. During this time, he was stationed in Africa, Italy, Germany and Korea. He received four Bronze Stars, Purple Heart, Victory Medal, Frence Fourre-Guerre, Korean Campaign Ribbons, Good Conduct award and Army Commendation Medal. He was a member of the VFW Post in Dunnellon. Surviving are his wife, Jeanette Moon of Ocala; son, George R. Moon III of St. Augustine; and two brothers, Marvin and Emory Moon, both of Farmerville, La. Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon.

Judy Ogles, 41, formerly of Crystal River
Judy Marie Foellmi Ogles, 41, of St. Petersburg, formerly of Crystal River, died Thursday, May 25, 2000. She was born in St. Petersburg and moved back two years ago from Crystal River. She was a 1977 graduate of Crystal River High School. She worked in the construction industry as a roofer. She was Protestant. Survivors include one daughter, Kimberly Ogles of Clearwater; her parents, Alfred and Lorraine Foellmi of Crystal River; two brothers, David Foellmi of Hernando and Larry Foellmi of Dunnellon; three sisters, Gail Fabian of Orlando, Diane Miller of Palm Harbor, and Lori Caudill of Homosassa; and one grandson, Robert Jones of Clearwater. Ruth Ullrich, 87, of Floral City
Ruth M. Ullrich, 87, of Floral City died Tuesday, May 23, 2000, at Citrus Health and Rehabilitation Center in Inverness. Born in Elmer, Mo., on May 26, 1912, to Milo M. and Roseanne (Lene) McNabb, she came here 21 years ago from Central Islip, N.Y. Mrs. Ullrich was a retired staff attendant with the Central Islip State Hospital and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons, Anthony ''Skippy'' Ullrich of Islip, N.Y., and Charles ''Charlie'' Ullrich of Illinois; one daughter, Ruth Scarangello of Ocala; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Beatrice Benoit Hickey, 81, of Hernando died Thursday, May 25, 2000, while visiting her daughter in Beauford, S.C. She was born in Brockton, Mass., and moved to Hernando in 1972 from St. Petersburg. She was a member of Leroy Rooks VFW Post Ladies Auxiliary, several civic associations and Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Hickey Jr., who died June 15, 1993. Surviving are her four sons, Walter J. Hickey Jr., II, of Harrisburg, Miss., Richard Hickey of Inverness, Robert Hickey of Somerville, Mass., and Frank W. Hickey of Bushnell; two daughters, Merillee Shoemaker of Burton, S.C., and Jean Murphy of St. Louis, Mo.; three brothers, Raymond Benoit of Mayfield, Ohio, Ernie Benoit and Robert Benoit, both of Brockton, Mass.; one sister, Doris Boucher of Brockton, Mass.; 15 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. John M. Dates, 54, of Hernando died Friday, May 26, 2000. He was born in Ann Arbor, Mich., and lived in Bradenton for 21 years. He moved to Jefferson City, Mo., before he moved to Hernando in 1992. He was a retired nuclear power engineer and worked for Sun Tech Contractors in Nevada and Fluor Contractors in California. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Hernando. He was an Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Jeannie Kinsey Dates of Hernando; one son, Roger Dale Dates of Floral City; one stepson, Rodney Walden of Holts Summit, Mo.; one step-daughter, Rhonda Walden of Holts Summit, Mo.; his mother, Betty Jane Cowen of Bradenton; two brothers, David Dates of New Smyrna Beach and Dan Dates of Atlanta, Ga.; and eight grandchildren. Seward Olcott, 77,of Ocala
Seward F. Olcott, 77, of Ocala died Wednesday, May 24, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala. A native of Hartford, Conn., he moved to Ocala one year ago from Crystal River. He was a ceramic engineer who retired in 1983 after 30 years of service with Emhart Glass Division of Black & Decker Company in Bloomfield, Conn. He graduated from Tilton Junior College in Tilton, N.H. Before he joined the Army and served in World War II, he was a member of the college swim team. He maintained a lifelong love of swimming. He was devoted to wildlife conservation, and he spent long hours at his hobby, solving algebra problems. He was Methodist. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Ellen R. Olcott of Ocala; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Mark Karwowski of Plainville, Conn.; and granddaughter Lisa Karwowski of Plainville, Conn. Thomas Calvin Simms Sr., 55, of Crystal River died Tuesday, May 23, 2000, at his home in Crystal River. He was born on Sept. 29, 1944, in Kingston, N.Y. He moved here from Tampa 10 years ago. He retired from the Marine Corps. He was a member of the American Legion Post 155 of Crystal River. He was Episcopalian. Jr. and Elizabeth (Knoopp) Bell in Pittsburg, Pa., he came here 11 years ago and was a retired Greyhound Bus driver and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Pittsburg. He was Protestant. A native of Tampa, he was born on April 12, 1939, to William and Margaret (Byrd) Collins. He was a lifelong resident of Tampa until he moved to Citrus County six months ago. He was a driver for NGI Company. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Collins was Tampa Police Department Auxilary member. Vernon K. ''Kenny'' Nash, 73, of Floral City, died Friday, May 26, 2000, at the Westside Regional Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale. Mr Nash came to Citrus County 15 years ago from his native St. Petersburg. He retired from Florida Power and Light Company as a line foreman. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Nash was a member of the Optimist Club in St. Petersburg and the Inverness Eagles Club Aerie No. 3992. He was an avid bowler. He was Protestant. Isabelle Bailey, 84, formerly of Crystal River
Isabelle S. Bailey, 84, died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at Westminster Oaks in Tallahassee after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Memphis, Tenn., and lived in Pensacola from 1956 to 1974 before retiring to Crystal River and then moving to Westminster Oaks in 1987. She was active in DAR in Memphis and Pensacola. She was a member of the St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Crystal River. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Mary Bailey and their four children; Joani Bailey Ross of Jacksonville; Kevin Bailey, Ashley Bailey and Jonathan Bailey, all of Tallahassee; daughter-in-law Karen Pense and grandson Christopher Bailey of Gainesville; brother Harry Schoettelkotte of Winter Park and sister Helen Carey of Memphis. She came to Inverness four years ago. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Channel 24 Television in Toledo and a Harley Davidson motorcycle dealership, as well. She was Presbyterian. She was preceded in death by a son, James Webb and two brothers, Don and Earl Vail. She is survived by her husband, Ronald S. She was a member of the 1943 graduating class of Crystal River High School. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed oil painting and quilting. She was a member of the Crystal River Women of the Moose. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crystal River. Surviving are her loving husband, Horace Cannon of Crystal River; daughter, Cheryl G.
