Donald Knight
Donald N. Knight, 80, of Barefoot Bay, died Nov. 2, 1998, at his residence after a prolonged illness He was born Jan. 31, 1918, in Wauseon, Ohio, and moved to Barefoot Bay in 1980 from Hialeah. Mr. Knight was an administrative engineer for the flight simulator division for Pan Am and a private pilot. He was a vocalist in the Baytones barbershop singers and was a member of the Barefoot Bay Homeowners Association. He was a photographer for the "Tattler" newspaper in Barefoot Bay. He originated the Spinners Square Dancers in Barefoot Bay and was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church, Micco, where he was a cantor. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Betty; three daughters, Donna Hammod, of Warner Robins, Ga., Betty Feldkamp, of Fort Lauderdale, and Kellie Jocoy, of Port St. Lucie; two sons, Donn Knight, of Louisville, Ky., and Keith Knight, of Fort Meyers; one sister, Phyllis Fitzpatrick, of Warner Robins; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was Nov. 5 at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Micco. Entombment will be at Fountainhead Memorial Park, Palm Bay. Fountainhead Memorial Funeral Home, Palm Bay, is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Pukas
Dorothy M. Pukas, 73, of Barefoot Bay, died Nov. 2, 1998, at Holmes Regional Medical Center, Melbourne, after a brief illness. She was born June 3, 1925, in Wakefield, R.I., and moved to Barefoot Bay 10 years ago from Westerly, R.I. Mrs. Pukas was a member of the Elks Emblem Club, Westerly. She was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Edward; one son, Steven Edward Pukas, of Westerly; one daughter, Linda Panceria, of Westerly; three sisters; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. At the family's request, there will be no repose or visitation. No services are scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1101 N. Lake Destiny Road, Suite 415, Maitland, Fla. 32751 in Mrs. Pukas' memory. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Indian River Cremations Inc., Vero Beach.

George Lee
George E. Lee, 80, of Micco, died Nov. 4, 1998, at Sebastian River Medical Center, Roseland, after a brief illness. He was born March 7, 1918, in Plymouth, Mass., and moved to Micco eight years ago from Fort Lauderdale. Mr. Lee was former owner of the Hungry I restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. He was a member of First Christian Church of Wilton Manors, Fort Lauderdale, and Challengers Motor Home Club in central Florida. He was former president of Wilton Manors Kiwanis Club and was a former scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 115 in Wilton Manors. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Florence; one son, David Lee, of Fort Lauderdale; one daughter, Nancy Thomas, of Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. At the family's request, there will be no repose or visitation. No services are scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Honor and Memorial Program, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105 in Mr. Lee's memory. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Indian River Cremations Inc., Vero Beach.

Willie Smith
Willie Mae Smith, 69, 1059 Lincoln St., Fellsmere, died Oct. 29, 1998, at Sebastian River Medical Center. She was born Nov. 15, 1929, in Eastman, Ga., and lived in Vero Beach for 37 years. Mrs. Smith was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Fellsmere, where she was a stewardess and usher in the church. Surviving are four sons, Willie D. Young, of Ocilla, Ga., Cleotha Young, of Vero Beach, Michael A. Smith, of Gifford, and John K. Smith, of Fellsmere; four daughters, Sally Mae Harris, of Tifton, Ga., Uvan Splunge, of Wabasso, Willie P. Jordan, of Wabasso, and Kimberly Ann Smith, of Sebastian; five brothers, William Ross Jr., of Fitzgerald, Ga., and Calvin Ross, David Ross, Roosevelt Ross and Clarence Ross, all of Ocilla, Ga.; four sisters, Ivernail Moore, of Orlando, and Ruby Arnold, Alta M. Wilson and Blondell Tucker, all of Ocilla; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service was Nov. 7 at Bethel AME Church, Fellsmere, with the Rev. Millard Campbell officiating. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery, Fellsmere. Stone Brothers Chapel, Gifford, was in charge of arrangements.

Albert Gorrow
Albert J. Gorrow, 84, of Sebastian, died Nov. 3, 1998, at Genesis Indian River Elder Care Center, West Melbourne, after a prolonged illness. He was born July 4, 1914, in Ogdensburg, N.Y., and moved to Sebastian in 1969 from his birthplace. Mr. Gorrow was a former garage owner and mechanic in Ogdensburg. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Bolster, of Suntree, and Anne Graveline, of Melbourne Beach; one son, Thomas Gorrow, of Chazy, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A private service will be held at a later date. Services are private and interment is at Fountainhead Memorial Park Cemetery, Palm Bay. The family suggests donations be made to Health First Hospice, 1900 Dairy Road, West Melbourne, 32904, in Mr. Gorrow's memory. Fountainhead Memorial Funeral Home, Palm Bay, is in charge of arrangements.

Theodore Zamojski
Theodore Zamojski, 80, of Sebastian, died Nov. 6, 1998, at his residence after a prolonged illness. He was born in Weirton, W.Va., and moved to Indian River County in 1960 from Riviera Beach. Mr. Zamojski was a watch and cabinet maker. He also worked as a technical engineer at Harris Corp., retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Watchmakers Association of Florida, Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Harris Retirement Association and was a master gardener. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Barefoot Bay, where he was active in the church council, choir and Men's Club. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sisters, Cecelia Randolph, of Arvada, Colo., and Frances Woodard, of Bryn Mawr, Pa.; three stepsons, Ralph Dehner and David Dehner, both of Toms River, N.J. and Daniel Dehner, of Satellite Beach; one stepdaughter, Dianna Mercandett, of Seaside, N.J.; and five step-grandchildren. The memorial service was Nov. 11 at Fountainhead Memorial Funeral Home, Palm Bay. Donations may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association, 1111 36th St.,Vero Beach, Fla. 32960, in Mr. Zamojski's memory.

Margaret O'Brien
Margaret "Marge" O'Brien, 73, of Barefoot Bay, died unexpectedly Nov. 7, 1998, at her residence. She was born in Newark, N.J., and moved to Florida 47 years ago. Mrs. O'Brien was a homemaker and a Marine Corps veteran. She was a member of the Marine Corps League, Women's Veterans, detachment 918, Barefoot Bay; the Sons and Daughters of Erin, Little Theatre, the 18 Holes Golf Club and also was a charter member of The Women's Memorial, Washington, D.C. She was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church, Micco, and its Women's Club. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jay; one son, Capt. Kevin O'Brien, serving with the U.S. Air Force; two daughters, Debra A. O'Brien, of Fort Lauderdale and Jayne M. Myrick, of Bell; and four grandchildren. A memorial service was Nov. 10 at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Micco. Burial was at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.

James Duignan
James Joseph Duignan, 79, of Sebastian, died Nov. 6, 1998, at Sebastian River Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born April 15, 1919, in New York, N.Y., and moved to Sebastian six years ago from Long Island, New York. Mr. Duignan was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Moose and St. Sebastian Catholic Church, all in Sebastian. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by seven children, 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. At the family's request, there will be no repose or visitation. A memorial service will be at a later date at Calverton National Cemetery, Long Island, New York. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Indian River Cremations Inc., Vero Beach.

Arthur McKinnon
Arthur Cunningham McKinnon, 76, of Sebastian, died Oct. 25, 1998, at Palm Garden of Vero Beach after a prolonged illness. He was born April 21, 1922, in Cambridge, Mass., and moved to Sebastian eight years ago from Cape Cod, Mass. Mr. McKinnon was a senior account executive for John Hancock Life Insurance Co., Boston. He was a graduate of Tufts University, Cambridge, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Nelda; two daughters, Eleanor Bryne, of Madison, Wis., and Helen Cauley, of Hampton, N.J.; one brother, Alan McKinnon, of Milton, Mass.; one sister, Helen Adams, of Sandwich, Mass.; and two grandchildren. A memorial service was Oct. 28 at Strunk Funeral Home Chapel, Sebastian, with the Rev. Irvine Nugent officiating.

Allen Murphy
Allen Ray Murphy, 68, of Sebastian, died Oct. 25, 1998, at Florida Hospital South, Orlando, after a brief illness. He was born Dec. 31, 1929, in Greentown, Ind., and moved to Sebastian 29 years ago from Kokomo, Ind. Mr. Murphy was a state and federal agricultural inspector. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Edith; four daughters, Cindy Roswog, Terri Barker, Melody Phiefer, Amber Donnelly; four stepdaughters, Tammy Fulford, Christina Fulford, Melissa Fulford Stark, and Lisa Marie Kent; one stepson, Thomas Fulford; two sisters, Bernadine Huck, and Judy Brannon; one brother, George Murphy; and 19 grandchildren. The funeral was Oct. 28 at the Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian, with the Rev. James Wingate officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to American Heart Association, 2800 Aurora Road, Suite 1, Melbourne, Fla. 32935-2099, or to the American Diabetes Association, Gift of Remembrance Headquarters, 1101 N. Donald Grimm
Donald W. Grimm Sr., 72, of Sebastian, died unexpectedly Oct. 26, 1998, at Sebastian River Medical Center, Roseland. He was born May 6, 1926, in Altoona, Pa., and moved to Sebastian 12 years ago from his birthplace. Mr. Grimm was a superintendent of the locomotive shops for Conrail, Altoona, Pa. He was a graduate of Penn State University. He was a member of the Sebastian Masonic Lodge No. 232 Free and Accepted Masons and Jaffa Temple. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Patricia; three sons, Donald Grimm Jr. and David Grimm, both of Altoona, and Daniel Grimm, of Knoxville, Tenn.; three daughters, Dana McCready, of North Olmstead, Ohio, and Dee Nagle and Pamela Vaughn, both of Altoona; three stepsons, Patrick Nicholls, Frederick Nicholls and Peter Nicholls, all of Toronto, Canada; and 24 grandchildren. Mr. Grimm will be transferred to the E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Altoona, for services and interment in Alto Reste, Altoona. Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian, is in charge of local arrangements.

Leonard Guyre
Leonard "Lenny" Guyre, 82, of Barefoot Bay, died Oct. 23, 1998, at Sebastian River Medical Center, Roseland, after a brief illness. He was born Nov. 6, 1915, in New York, N.Y., and moved to Barefoot Bay in 1976 from Lindenhurst, N.Y. Mr. Guyre was a manager at the New York Telephone Co., New York. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was awarded two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars with one Oak Cluster. He was a member of the Barefoot Bay Men's Club, Golf Association and Home Owners Association, all of Barefoot Bay. He was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers. He was a member of St. Luke's Men's Club, Barefoot Bay, Knights of Columbus St. Joseph Council, Palm Bay, American Legion Post No. 366 and the Moose Lodge No. 1767, Micco. Surviving are his wife, Sara; one son, Timothy Guyre, of Rockledge; two daughters, Paulette LaConte, of Wharton, N.J., and Jenise Anderson, of New York; one brother, Raymond Guyre, of New Jersey; and seven grandchildren. A memorial Mass was Nov. 2 at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Barefoot Bay. Interment followed at Fountainhead Memorial Park, Palm Bay. The family suggests donations be made to St. Luke's Catholic Church, 5055 Micco Road, Barefoot Bay, Fla. 32976, in Mr. Guyre's memory.

Ruth Crowley
Ruth Marie Crowley, 72, of Vero Beach, died Oct. 29, 1998, at her residence after a prolonged illness. She was born Sept. 24, 1926, in Woburn, Mass., and moved to Vero Beach 15 years ago from Woburn, Mass. Mrs. Crowley was an office manager in the accounting field with J.M. Phillips. She was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach. Surviving are her husband, Joseph; one daughter, Mary Cannata, of Burlington, Mass.; one brother, Fred C. Brown, of Woburn, Mass.; and three sisters, Jeanne McGarr and Dorothy McLaughlin, both of Woburn, and Ellen Smith, of Sebastian; and two grandchildren. At the family's request, a memorial service will be held at later date in Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the VNA Hospice House Campaign, P.O. Paula Lisai
Paula Lisai, 67, of Sebastian, died Oct. 27, 1998, after a brief illness. She was born Sept. 10, 1931. in Bellows Falls, Vt., and moved to Sebastian 15 years ago from her birthplace. Ms. Lisai was a retired secretary for Gibson & Silkworth Architects, of Vero Beach. Surviving are three sisters, Barbara Shufeldt, of Hurley, N.Y., Larysa Howard, of Bellows Falls, and Clara Wylie, of Verona, Va.; and one brother, Leonard Lisai, of Bellows Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Humane Society of Vero Beach, 4701 41st St., Vero Beach, Fla. 32967, in Ms. Lisai's memory. Anna M. Guida, 96, of Sebastian, died Nov. 1, 1998, at Tamden Health Care, Vero Beach, after a prolonged illness. She was born Aug. 17, 1902, in New Rochelle, N.Y., and moved to Sebastian in 1982 from her birthplace. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian, and a former member of the Italian American Club, Sebastian. Surviving are a son, Joseph V. Guida, of Stuart; a daughter, Jeanne Iannaccone, of Sebastian; a brother, James Picone, of Cocoa Beach; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 4 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian. Entombment will follow at Fountainhead Memorial Park, Palm Bay. Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian was in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn Petraitis
Evelyn Ann Petraitis, 76, of Sebastian, died Nov. 1, 1998, at her residence, after a prolonged illness. She was born Sept. 25, 1922, in Chicago and moved to Sebastian in 1990 from Stuart. Mrs. Petraitis was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian, and the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City. Mrs. Petraitis was a member of the Stepping Stone Quilting Club, Sebastian, and the Deborah Heart and Lung Association. Surviving are a son, Richard Petraitis of Oak Lawn, Ill.; a daughter, Laurie Butler, of Sebastian; a sister, Irene Gerstner, of Evergreen Park, Ill.; four grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 5 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church. Interment followed at Forest Hill Memorial Park, Palm City.
