Daniel J. Cannon, Jr.
Daniel J. Cannon, Jr., 73, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001 at the Hospice House, Brooksville.
He was born in Conshohocken, Pa., and moved to this area seven years ago from King of Prussia and Conshohocken. He retired from Local 401 Structural and Ornamental Iron Workers. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater with the 25th Naval Construction Battalion and the 3rd Marine Division, former commander of VFW Post 7878, Valley Forge, Pa., life member of the VFW and American Legion, and a member of the Dunegal Society of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Island X6 Navy Seabees of Spring Hill and Irish-American Club of Spring Hill.
Survivors include two daughters, Marie of New York, N.Y., and Coleen of Beverly, N.J.; a son, Daniel J. III of Beverly; and two grandsons.

Melbourne Joseph Hynes
Melbourne Joseph Hynes, 77, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Detroit, Mich., and moved to this area 14 years ago from Brighton, Mich. He was a supervisor for the Ford Motor Co. for 38 years, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and its Men's Club, Spring Hill, and Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria; a son, Melbourne II of Highland, Mich.; four daughters, Rebecca McKelvey of Troy, Mich., Susanna Hamilton of Hamburg, Mich., and Carolyn Organek of Dearborn, Mich., and Mary Cryderman of Ferndale, Mich.; three sisters, Doris Gudgell of Beverly Hills, Esther Mahaday and Katherine Graves, both of Canton, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Robert George Fritz
Robert George Fritz, 77, of Tampa, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001 in Brooksville.
He was a native of Pennsylvania and a resident of Tampa for 25 years coming from St. Petersburg. He retired from general maintenance for an electronic manufacturing company and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; two stepsons, David Brown of Atlanta, Ga. and Carl Brown of Brooksville; two sisters, Ellen Stone and Charlotte, both of Pennsylvania; and nine grandchildren.

Rudolphe "Rudy" Bergeron, 79, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Brooksville. Born in Saco, Maine, he came to this area 21/2 years ago from San Diego, Calif. He was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran and a Catholic by faith.
He is survived by his daughter, Claudette Reynolds of Tarpon Springs; a son, Raymond Bergeron of West Covina, Calif.; a brother, Leo Bergeron of Saco; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Joe N. Browder, 87, of Spring Hill, died Friday, July 25, 2003 at Brooksville Healthcare Center in Brooksville. Born in St. Albans, W. Va., he moved to this area 50 years ago. He was a retired farmer, a World War II and Korean War U.S. Marine veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Marion Lucille; one daughter, Sally J. Douglas of Brooksville; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Marie C. Quaine, 67, of Hernando Beach, died Monday, July 28, 2003 at her home. Born in St. Petersburg, she moved to this area 23 years ago from Clearwater. She was an administrative secretary for Hernando County Utilities, a former vice-president at Rutland Savings and Loan in Clearwater, co-founder of the Kidnap, Hostage Program and a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Spring Hill.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; a son, Stephen Williams of Tampa; a daughter, Robin Hacker of Valley View, Texas; a brother, Robert Peacock of Bellair Bluffs; two sisters, Janet McKenzie of Conyers, Ga. and Shirley Espesito of St. Pete Beach; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Betty Jo Greene, 75, of Brooksville, died Monday, July 28, 2003 at the Hospice Care Center in Brooksville. Born in Lebanon, Ind., she came to the area this year from Indianapolis. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Harold; two sons, James D. of Adrian, Ore. and Robert E. of Spring Hill; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Johnathan Howard Richard, an infant, died Monday, July 28, 2003 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
He is survived by his parents, Martin Victor Richard and Jessica Nicole Sanford of Spring Hill; paternal grandparents, Patricia and David Dorvee of Spring Hill and Martin James Richard of Wayne, N.J.; paternal great-grandmothers, Diane Gibbons of Bellview, N.J. and Martha Virelli of Little Egg Harbor, N.J.; paternal great-great grandmother Pilar Armedo of Nutley, N.J.; maternal grandparents, James and Susan Sanford of Spring Hill; maternal great-grandparents, Junior and Roberta Sanford of Davenport, Fla., and James and Barbara Hagatha of Winter Haven; maternal great-great grandmother, Mary Bentley Price of Fruithurst, Ala.; several aunts, an uncle and many extended family members.

Frederick H. Batchelder, 86, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at his home. Born in Manchester, N.H. he came to the area 21 years ago from Bedford, N.H. He was an auto body painter and retired from Queen City Auto Body of Manchester. He was a World War U.S. Army veteran, member of the V.F.W. Post 10209 of Spring Hill., He was Greek Orthodox by faith and attended Christian Church in the Wildwood.
Survivors include three sons, Fred and Larry of Spring Hill, and Michael of Brooksville; two daughters, Daisy Hedges of Louisville, Ky., and Kay Cappuchi of Midway, Ga.; a sister, Marion Weatherbee of Franklin, N.H.; 11 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.

Walter "Eddie" White, 81, of Brooksville, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at the Hospice Care Center in Brookville. Born in Mishawaka, Ind., he came to the area 54 years ago from Plymouth, Ind. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during World War II, awarded a Bronze Star for his service in the South Pacific. He was a Hillsborough County school teacher of architectural design and designed plans for four churches in the Tampa area.
He is survived by three sons, Donald W. of Suttons Bay, Mich., Charles of Houston, Texas, and Bruce of Brooksville; two sisters, Katherine Anders of Plymouth, Ind. and Clara Hansen of Culver, Ind., and four grandchildren.

Mary B. O'Hara, 86, of Brooksville, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002 at Heartland of Brooksville.
She was born in Columbia, Ky., and moved to this area 73 years ago. She was owner/operator of a barber/hair styling salon, a charter member of Junior Service League, Brooksville, Beta Sigma Phi Epsilon Epsilon Chapter, a 1933 graduate of Hernando High School, Brooksville, and a member of First United Methodist Church, Brooksville.

Bessie Jahn, 73, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Brooksville.
She was born in Passaic, N.J., and moved to this area 14 years ago. She was retired from Kurtuerson Lighting Company, Westwood, N.J., and a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include her husband, Walter; five sons, Steve Pruden of Lutz, Fla., Gary Pruden of Yardley, Pa., Walter Robert of Weatherford, Texas, Raymond Louis of Warwick, N.Y., and Peter James of Montvale, N.J.; a daughter, Corrine Clagnan of Toms River, N.J.; and 11 grandchildren.

Thomas L. Stevenson, 22, of Brooksville, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002 at his home.
He was born in New Port Richey and moved to this area three years ago from Franklin County, Ohio. He was a Mason Tender and a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his son, Damian of Brooksville; his father, Walter of Brooksville; his mother, Toby Woods of Franklin County; three brothers, Anthony of Washington, D.C., Joseph of Port Richey and Mason of Brooksville; a sister, Jessica of Brooksville; a stepbrother, Richard Morman of Kentucky; a stepsister, Brandy Morman of Kentucky; paternal grandparents, Walter and Carol of Spring Hill; maternal grandparents, James and Wilma Poteat of Tarpon Springs; paternal great-grandmother, Grace Ponton of Spring Hill; maternal great-grandparents, Leota Thompson of Safety Harbor, Fla., and Sylvia Hemphill of Ashville, N.C.; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Joe Keen, 64, of Spring Hill, died Friday March 21, 2003,at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
He was born in Portland, Tenn. and moved to this area six years ago.
He was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Connie and daughter, Tracy Hise of Crawfordsville, Ind.

Ruth Pinegar, age not known, of Brooksville, died Saturday, March 22, 2003 in her home.
She was born in Nashville, Tenn. and moved to the area three years ago.
She was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her sons, Charles Seward of Tampa and Hershell Pinegar of Brooksville and two daughters, Patricia Rapelje and Miranda Stille both of Dothan, Ala.

Joseph Scanze, 85, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, March 22, 2003 at Hernando Care Center.
He was born in Woodbury, Conn. and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret, son, Robert of Danbury, Conn. and daughter, Irene Stark of Thomaston, Conn.

Edgar 'Ed' W. Hunter
Edgar "Ed" W. Hunter, 61, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, May 5, 2001 at his home.
He was born in New London, Conn., and moved to this area four years ago from Mystic, Conn. He was the owner-operator of Hunter's Home and Hardware and Red Rooster Market & Deli, both of N. Stonington, Conn., and was a manager for General Dynamics Convenience & Hardware Store in Groton, Conn., for 20 years. He was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran; a charter member of N. Stonington Rotary Club; a little league coach in Waterford, Conn., and a member of Timber Pines Golf and Tennis Club and Handicap Committee. He was a Methodist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce M.; two sons, Scott of Preston, Conn., and Jeffrey of Coste Mesa, Calif.; two brothers, John and Joe Barbera, both of Waterford; two sisters, Janice Cozzolino of Westerly, RI and Marilyn Estes of Connecticut; and two grandchildren.

Edith B. Mailloux, 91, of Brooksville died Sunday, May 6, 2001 at her home.
She was born in Warrick, RI and moved to this area nine years ago from Okeechobee. She was a homemaker and a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include three sons, Robert of Cumberland, RI; Richard of Labelle; and Oscar of Jupiter; three daughters, Helen Hester of Gainesville; Jeanette Hester of Okeechobee and Jackie Coots of Brooksville; a sister, Blanche Ganon of Pawtucket, RI; 26 grandchildren; and 33 grandchildren.

Annette Bush Sullivan, 76, of Brooksville, died Saturday, May 5, 2001 at Oak Hill Hospital.
She was born in Park Ridge, Ill., and moved to this area over a year ago to live with her granddaughter, Pam Mathis. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Brooksville.
Survivors include a son, James Reid of Ft. Pierce; two daughters, Dyann Beech of Brooksville and Helen Hall of Yorbalinda, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mary Nastasi, 71, of Spring Hill died Saturday, June 1, 2002 at Kindred Hospital in Tampa.
Born in Port Washington, N.Y., she moved to this area four years ago from Holiday. She was a customer relations manager in the retail industry and was Catholic.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph of Spring Hill; a daughter, Joanne Vinciguerra (and Anthony) of Spring Hill; a sister, Jean Gusmano of Port Washington; and a grandson, Michael Vinciguerra of Spring Hill.

Georgia K. Anderson, 91, of Brooksville, died Saturday, June 1, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center, Brooksville.
Born in Michigan, she moved to this area years ago. She was a graduate of Central Michigan University, taught English, was an avid reader, bridge player and golfer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. C.F. Anderson.
Survivors include two sons, Clifford Jr. and Stephen; daughters-in-law, Margaret and Gay; three grandchildren, Lehne Leverette, Clifford Anderson III and Amanda Fulmer; and one great-grandson, Nicholas.

She was a homemaker and worked during World War II for A.C. Gilbert as a drill press operator. Prior to that, she was a secretary for Carson, Pierre, Scott in Chicago, Ill. Theresa M. Garren, 66, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002 at Oak Hill Hospital. Born in Ashely, Pa., she moved to this area three years ago from Laurel, Del. She was a homemaker and member of the Brooksville Assembly of God. She is survived by three sons, David, Stephen and Daniel and a daughter, April Wyatt, all of Spring Hill; a brother, Russell Nafus of Van Nyes, Calif.; two sisters, Catherine Hendricks of Brooksville and Irene Wiggles of Noonan, Ga.; and 10 grandchildren. Virginia M. Hansen, 79, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002 at Hospice Care Unit, Brooksville. Born in Beloit, Wis., she moved to this area 22 years ago from Janesville, Wis. She was a retired sales representative and a Lutheran. She is survived by a daughter, Holly of Spring Hill; a son, Mark S. of McFarland, Wis.; and three grandsons.
