George Albert Gavin, Sr., 79, of Brookridge, Brooksville, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and moved to this area 15 years ago. He was a retired supervisor for Gerald Electronics Corporation and a member of the Brooksville Moose Lodge.
Survivors include a son, George A., Jr. of Trevose, Pa.; a daughter, Edith Fisher of Philadelphia, Pa.; a sister, Marion Gavin, Brooksville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Argil 'Whitey' L. Moran
Argil 'Whitey' L. Moran, 81, of Weeki Wachee, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001 at Heartland of Brooksville.
He was born in Webster Springs, W.Va., and moved to this area five years ago from St. Albans, W.Va. He was a sheet metal worker for Union Carbide Chemical, and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was an auxiliary policeman for St. Albans, a member of the International Association of Sheet Metal and Aerospace Workers and a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Marie; a son, Daniel of Florida; three daughters, Judith Hilton, Deborah Ketchum and Kathy Hillyer, all of Florida; a stepdaughter, Diann M. Green of Florida; stepson Morris Cracraft of Alabama; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Marilou Louise Taylor, 50, of Brooksville, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001 at Hospice House.
She was born in Smithtown, N.Y., and moved to this area 20 years ago from Long Island, N.Y. She was a school bus driver for the Pasco County public school system and a Lutheran by faith.
Survivors include her husband, David; a son, Jimmy Taylor of Brooksville; two daughters, Lynette Struble of Brooksville and Sharleen Gear of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Frederick Heinze of Sayville, N.Y.; a sister, Barbara Galbraith of Brooksville; and four grandchildren.

Clarence Wilford Head, 85, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
He was born in Mitchell, Ind., and moved to this area 32 years ago from Summitville, Ind. He was retired from Railroad Express and was a Christian by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Jane; three daughters, Rosalie Brown of Tennessee, Norma Porter of Indiana, and Judy Arcbell of Brooksville; two sons, Calvin and Craig, both of Indiana; two half-brothers, Paul McCalthey of Indiana and Floyd Edwards of New York; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Robert Donald Wilson, 70, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001 at his home.
He was born in Nemacolin, Pa., and moved to this area 14 years ago from Twinsburg, Ohio. He was retired from Ford Motor Company and a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Linda Wilson of Palm Harbor and Robin San Filippo of Chardon, Ohio; two sons Robert of Akron, Ohio and Scott of Spring Hill; three brothers, Charles of Oakwood, Ohio, Ivan of Spring Hill, and Wendell of Grafton, Ohio; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Fred Vengas Garza, 72, of Spring Hill, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001 at his home.
He was born in Houston, Texas, and moved to this area six years ago from Swanton, Ohio. He was a retired iron worker and a Christian by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Sophie; three brothers, Selso and Michael of Houston, and Anthony of Los Angeles, Calif.; and three sisters, Ester and Rosie Vesquees of Houston, and Oralia Rojas of Los Angeles.

Norman C. Welch
Norman C. Welch, 80, of Brooksville, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001 at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point.
He was born in Berlin, N.H., and moved to this area 13 years ago. He was a stationary engineer for a paper mill company and a member of the High Point Golf Club and Horseshoe Club.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; a daughter, Joan Cartier of Palm City; a son, William of Berlin; two granddaughters, Jennifer Cartier of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Kacie of New Hampshire; and two grandsons, Brian Cartier of New Britain, N.H., and Jamie Welch of New Hampshire.

William Edward 'Bill' Wilson, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001 at Hernando Hospice House.
He was born in Suffern, N.Y., and moved to this area 11 years ago from Monsey, N.Y. He was retired from Maney Chevrolet of Nyack, N.Y. and a World War II Battle of the Bulge veteran, a member of American Legion 1447 of Monsey, and a Methodist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine 'Jo'; a son, Michael of Vancouver, Wash.; a daughter, Donna Eaton of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Harold of Haverstraw, N.Y., and Charles of Suffern; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Phyllis Victoria Springer, 87, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
She was born in Danforth, Maine, was a seasonal resident of this area for 21 years and then moved to this area nine years ago. She was a retired therapy aide for Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center, Wingdale, N.Y. She was a member of Danforth Baptist Church, Danforth, and attended First United Methodist Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include two daughters, Kay-Helen Wood of Spring Hill and Sandra Sue Raymond of Danforth; two sons, Warren of Grand Isle, Fla., and James of Wingdale; a brother, Arey Golding of Danforth; two sisters, Evelyn Harriman of Danforth and Mary Irish of Wytopilock, Maine; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Eleanor T. Bishop, 90, of Weeki Wachee, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
She was born in Macon, Ga., and moved to this area 12 years ago from Detroit, Mich. She was a church secretary at First Presbyterian Church for 20 years and a member of Mariner United Methodist Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include a son, William Stacy of Weeki Wachee; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Robert James Mahoney, 76, of Brookridge, Brooksville, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002 at his home.
He was born in Chicago, Ill., and moved to this area 10 years ago from Bloomington, Minn. He was a retired insurance company marketing executive, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, and a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine; two sons, Robert Mark of Eagan, Minn., and Thomas James of Edina, Minn.; three daughters, Patricia Catherine Nelson of Edina, Maggie Ann Todd of Bloomington and Marie Terese Falls of Golden Valley, Minn.; a brother, William Mark Jr. of Mesa, Ariz.; a sister, Margaret Jean of Brooksville; and 11 grandchildren, Kelly Nelson of Denver, Colo., Bailey Nelson of Edina, Chris and Megan Todd, both of Bloomington, Joe, Peter and Charlie, all of Edina, and Bridget, Sam and Mark Falls, all of Golden Valley.

Lydia Irene Sauls Belote, 79, of Brooksville, formerly of Qulin, Mo., died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002 at her home.
She was born in Missouri and moved to this area two years ago from Missouri. She was a member of Qulin Baptist Church, Missouri, and a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include two sons, Dan Sauls of Broseley, Mo., and Pete Redman of Kokomo, Ind.; two daughters, Jettie Voisine of Qulin and Maggie McCarter of Brooksville; two stepchildren, Jack Belote and Nancy Wolverton, both of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; a brother, Roscoe Fuwell of Salt Lake City, Utah; a sister, Ethel Rose of Tennessee; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Ruth Lane Bryant, 77, of Tampa, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002 at her home.
She was born in St. Petersburg and had lived in Tampa for 37 years. She was a homemaker and in her youth, she was a model for Webb City, St. Petersburg. She was a Christian by faith.
Survivors include a son, Robert E. of Spring Lake; a daughter, Linda Bryant Lee of Tampa; a sister, Mary Griffen of Texas; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

June Blair Swain, 71, Weeki Wachee, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001 at Elisa Coffee Hospital, Florence, Ala.
She was born in Clermont, and moved to this area 11 years ago from Anthony. She was a retired Postmaster, and a member of First Baptist Church of Hernando Beach.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn Rowan of Florence; a son, Frederick L. "Rick" Jr. of Gainesville; a sister, Ann Blair Tobin of Inverness; and six grandchildren.

Verdie English, 83, of Brooksville, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001 at Brooksville Health Care Center Hospice unit.
She was born in Paris, Tenn., and moved tot his area 28 years ago from Detroit. She was press operator for a metal molding company during World War II. She was past secretary for the Fidelis Class at her Church, a Baptist by faith, and a member of First Baptist Church of Brooksville.

Edward Walter Withington, 81, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
He was born in New Haven, Conn., and moved to this area 20 years ago from Bethany, Conn. He was retired from the Bilco Door Company, and a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane; a daughter, Mary Miles of Torrington, Conn.; a stepdaughter, Barbara Rose of Hudson, Mass.; a son, Edward F. of Spring Hill; two stepsons, G. Roy Butzier of Savannah, Ga., and Robert C. Butzier of Coventry, R.I.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Survivors include three daughters, Fannie Spears of Gallion, Ala., Gwendolyn Taylor of Brooksville and Linda Leonard of Spring Hill; a brother, Willie Ed Barnes of Tacoma, Wash.; a sister, Julia Mae Pittman of Milledgeville; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was a native of Grand Rapids, Mich., and moved to this area a year ago from Mt. Clemens, Mich. He was a retired truck driver after 30 years with Express Freight and attended St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; four daughters, Julia Stafford of Spring Hill, Cecelia Crisman of Harrisontownship, Mich., Roberta Oman of Rochester, Mich., and Madeline of Ft. Lauderdale; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
