William H. Pierson, 74, of Lexington Park, Md., formerly of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital, Leonardstown, Md.
He was born in Chester, Pa. He was a retired oil worker, a World War II and Korean conflict U.S. Navy Seabee veteran, a member of VFW Post 10209, and lifetime member of Purple Hearts and Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include two sons, Irving T. of Lexington Park and William H. of Spring Hill; a daughter, Kathie of Landenberg, Pa.; two brothers, Pete of Lincoln, Del., and Thomas of Greensboro, N.C.; and seven grandchildren.

Oline R. Barlow, 83, of Dunnellon, Fla., died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002 at Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala.
He was born in North Carolina and moved to this area 19 years ago from Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a retired small business owner and entrepreneur and a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey; two daughters, Linda Spaudling of Ocala and Jan Miller of Fairfield, Ohio; two sons, George of Ocala and Jerry of Forest Park, Ohio; a sister, Juanita Crail of Boca Raton, Fla.; a brother, Edsel of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Leonard G. Crisci, 80, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003 at his home.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to this area nine years ago from Long Island, N.Y. He retired from the New York Sanitation Department and also worked after retirement as a driver with Varsity Bus in New York. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the VFW in New York and retired as a Grand Knight of the St. Jude Council of Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Regine; two daughters, Theresa La Volpe of Massapequa, N.Y., and Erminia Kirshy of Staten Island, N.Y.; three sisters, Anna Caruso and Gloria Gadzinski, both of Staten Island, and Maria Crisci of Boynton Beach; and five grandchildren.

Maria Ortiz, 94, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003 at her home.
She was born in Puerto Rico and moved to this area 17 years ago from New Haven, Conn. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God Door of Salvation, New Haven, and a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include a son, Juan of Spring Hill; a daughter, Ediyein Ortiz of New Haven; two brothers, Ismael Ortiz of Lake Placid and Bernardino Ortiz of Puerto Rico; four sisters, Rosa, Carmen, Elena and Matilde, all of Puerto Rico; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mildred E. "Monie" Marzen, 81, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003 at Spring Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Bottineau, N.D., and moved to this area two years ago from Metairie, La. She was a homemaker and a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Metairie.
Survivors include two sons, Terry D. of Luling, La., and Charles S. of Spring Hill; a sister, Lila Robinson of Grand Ledge, Mich.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Peter "Papa" M. Caras, 57, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
He was born in Queens, N.Y., and moved to this area 29 years ago from Queens. He owned Accurate Concrete Pumping, Hudson, a Vietnam War U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the Sertoma Club, Builders Business Association, and Church of Living Water, Spring Hill, and was an avid hot rod collector.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie; six sons, P.J. Caras of Holbrook, N.Y., Keith Caras of Queens, Tony Corigliano and Michael Corigliano, both of Spring Hill, Dominick Corigliano of Hudson and Craig Daly of Levittown, N.Y.; three daughters, Charice Levy of New Port Richey, Tina Johns of Spring Hill and Stacy Cara of Oldsmar; and 18 grandchildren.

Phyllis Marasciullo, 66, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002 at Kindred Hospital, Tampa. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she moved to this area 10 years ago from Long Island, N.Y. She was an insurance underwriter and attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Spring Hill. She is survived by two brothers, Neil of Staten Island, N.Y. and Joseph of Long Island, N.Y. Carmella Kruczek, 81, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she moved to this area 27 years ago from Smithtown, N.Y. She was a retired dressmaker in the garment industry and a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Frank; two daughters, Linda Starr of Bayshore, N.Y. and Joyce Ehatt of Clearwater; three sisters, Rae Caristo of Spring Hill, Rose Salamak of Coram, N.Y. and Louise Grisafi of Naples; and five grandchildren. George H. Cleary, 73, of Weeki Wachee, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at his home.
He was born in New York, N.Y., and moved to this area two years ago from Tucson, Ariz. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; two stepdaughters, Leslie Hatcher of Parker, Colo., and Kimberlee Hill of Ellettsville, Ind.; a brother, Albert of New York; and four grandchildren.

Dallas Richard Turnure, 94, of Spring Hill, died Friday, May 23, 2003 at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson.
He was born in Red Cloud, Neb., and was a personnel manager for an aircraft manufacturing company.
Survivors include his wife, Olga Wrightson Turnure of Cherry Hill, N.J.; three stepchildren, Karen Wrightson Miller, Irma Marilyn Wrightson and Edward Julio Wrightson, all of New Jersey; and six grandchildren.

Dorothy C. Ward, 91, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, May 29, 2003 at Evergreen Woods, Spring Hill.
She was born in New York and moved to this area 14 years ago. She retired as a secretary from Long Island Lighting, New York. She was a member of Eastern Star, New York, and was a Methodist by faith.
Survivors include a son, Donald Ward of Islip, N.Y.; a daughter, Pamela Courtney of Spring Hill; and three grandchildren.

Aaron Jack Smith Sr., 84, of Brooksville, died Thursday, May 29, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He was born in Bonifay, Fla., and moved to this area 72 years ago from Fort Myers. He was retired owner/operator of Jack's Garage, a World War II U.S. Army Air Force veteran, a 50-year member of Hernando Lodge 97 F&AM, founding member and past president of Hernando Scottish Rite Club, past president of Hernando County Shrine Club, former member of the Shrine Club's mini car "Tin Lizzy" group and Egypt Temple Shrine, and a member of First United Methodist Church, Brooksville.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Stephens Smith; two sons, William Stephen and Aaron Jack Jr., both of Brooksville; two daughters, Cheryl S. Sorrow of Greenwood, S.C., and Rhoda S. Mercer of Dahlonega, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Thomas H. Ryan Jr., 83, of Brooksville, died Monday, May 26, 2003 at Spring Hill Health and Rehab Center.
He was born in Fall River, Mass., and moved to this area 19 years ago from Michigan. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran, a post office worker, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta; two daughters, Kathleen of Brooksville and Patricia Mercure of Michigan; a son, Thomas III of Michigan; two brothers, Leroy of Jacksonville and Arthur of Greenville, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Philip Daddario, 81, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
He was born in Astoria, N.Y., and moved to this area 15 years ago from Elmont, N.Y. He retired from the City of New York, where he was a welding blacksmith. He was a World War II U.S. Marines veteran and attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine; a son, Steven of Spring Hill; a daughter, Jill Rippel of Oldsmar, Fla.; a sister, Florence of New York City, N.Y.; and two grandchildren, Kristy and Marissa Rippel.

Betty LaVerne Nance Patterson, 54, of Brooksville, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002 at her home.
She was born in Sanford, Fla., and moved to this area 22 years ago from the Polk County area. She was a homemaker, a member of Orange Street of Church of Christ, Auburndale, Fla., and attended First Assembly of God, Brooksville.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon Eugene Sr. of Jessup, Ga.; two sons, Vernon Eugene Jr. of Brooksville and Ronald Shayne of Canalou, Mo.; two daughters, Marsha Marie Barker of Canalou and Betty Jean Wagner of Bernie, Mo.; her mother, Estelle Hayes Nance of Adele, Ga.; two brothers, Kenneth Nance and Dennis Nance, both of Auburndale; three sisters, Mary Jean Whitman and Rochelle Parramore, both of Adele, and Barbara Nance of Auburndale; and 10 grandchildren, Marisa, Victoria, Justin, Christopher, Dalton, Tiffany, Chelsea, Jacob, Ronald and Brittany.

He was born in Sioux City, Iowa, and moved to this area seven years ago from Omaha, Neb. He retired from Hi-Way Barricades, Inc., Omaha. He was president of the Gulf Coast Homing Club, a Vietnam War U.S. Army veteran, and a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie; two sons, Tom Jr. and Tim, both of Omaha; two brothers, Michael of Whiting, Iowa, and David of Lincoln, Neb.; two sisters, Kay Dean of Denver, Colo., and Pam Pliss of Everett, Wash.; and a grandchild, Jake.

Isabel DeVoid, 83, of Brooksville, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002 at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson.

Frances Y. Conner, 92, of Brooksville, died Monday, July 21, 2003 at Brooksville Health Care Center of Brooksville. She was born in Lakewood, N.J., and came here three years ago from Orlando.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Brooksville Wesleyan Church. Survivors include her daughter, Donna Mack of Brooksville; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Howard G. Young Jr., 71, of Brooksville, died Monday, July 21, 2003 at the Hospice Care Center, Brooksville.
Young, originally of Fonda, N.Y., moved to this area 16 years ago. He was a welder for White Mop Wringer, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and attended the Brooksville Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include his sisters, Bessie Yarrington of Brooksville and Esther Bean of Hesperia, Calif.
Arrangements are being made through Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville.

James R. Villafana of Spring Hill died Monday, July 21, 2003 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital. He was 79.
A New York City native, Villafana moved to this area 15 years ago from Northfield, N.J. He has also lived in Bronx, N.Y., and Dix Hills, N.Y.
Villafana was a retired New York Police Department detective who also served as an investigator with the special state prosecutor's office in New York. He was director of surveillance for the Sands Hotel in Atlantic City and in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He also served as a security consultant to various hotels and resorts.
Villafana was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Jeanette; a son, Allan of Key West; two daughters, Joanne Bass of Norwood, N.J. and Judy Linke of Spring Hill; two brothers, Fito of Spring Hill and Joe of Las Vegas; six sisters, Olga Lopez, Evelyn Messer and Felita Vazquez, all of Spring Hill, Gloria Villafana of Virginia, Carmen Dutze of West Keansburg, N.J. and Norma Yuro of Westfield, N.J.; and five grandsons.
Services are being arranged through Pinecrest Funeral Chapel, Spring Hill.

Patricia Barry, 76, of Brooksville, died Sunday, July 20, 2003 at her residence.
Born in the Bronx, N.Y., Barry came here 22 years ago from Farmingdale, N.Y. She was an accounts payable clerk for Fairfield Noble in New York, president of the Nifty Niner's at the Brooksville Golf and Country Club, past president of the organ and music club of Cloverleaf, a member and Eucharistic minister at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bernard; daughter, Kathleen P. Monti of Grand Island, N.Y.; two sons, Brian P. Barry of Fort Collins, Colo., and Kevin J. Barry of Farmington, Conn.; two sisters, Mary Ryan of Weeki Wachee and Theresa Fitzgerald of Versailles, Ky.; a brother, Joseph P. Burke of Rocky Mountain, Conn.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Revis C. Hyde, 84, of Brooksville, died Saturday, July 19, 2003 at Oak Hill Hospital. He was born in Sandy Hook, Miss., and came here in 1982 from Texas. He was a Baptist by faith and a World War II prisoner of war in Japan. He worked as a welder for the Civil Service and was a 32-degree Mason in Washington, D.C.
He is survived by his wife, Laura of Brooksville; son, Jimmie of Greenville, S.C.; daughter, Betty Jean Muzio of San Antonio, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Jack W. Blanton, 77, of Glen Lakes, Brooksville, died Monday, April 21, 2003 at his home.
He was born in Duncan, Okla., and was a winter resident for five years coming from Pittsburgh, Pa. He was retired chemist manager for Calgon and was a graduate of Harvard University, where he earned his MBA degree.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine; a daughter, Gwin of Wilton, Conn.; a sister, Juhree Davenport Prater of Gainesville, Texas; and two nieces, Debbie Merriman and Dana Nichols, both of Dallas, Texas.
