Winifred Burton Kelley, 71, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002 at Kindred Central Hospital, Tampa.
She was born in Miami and moved to this area eight years ago from Jacksonville. She graduated from the University of Miami, majoring in theater and communications, and worked extensively in television and advertising as an on-air talent and later as a producer and writer. She was with the U.S. Peace Corps, Washington, D.C. for 15 years traveling throughout the world, producing films, television and recruiting material.
Survivors include her husband, Bill; a son, Edward Moser of Laurel, Md.; and a granddaughter.

Winifred T. Fundator, 82, of Champaign, Ill., formerly of Brookridge, Brooksville, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Ill.
She was born in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England, and moved to this area 25 years ago from Worth, Ill., until relocating to her daughter's home in Champaign. She is retired from an advertising career in the Chicago area and as an activities consultant for a chain of nursing homes.
Survivors include two sons, Alan M. of Orland Park, Ill., and John P. of Champaign, Ill.; two daughters, Margaret Ann Ruthenburg of Stockton, Ill., and Alexis Tate of Champaign; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Joseph Heimbach, 82, of Brookridge, Brooksville, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002 at his home.
He was born in Port Huron, Mich., and moved to this area 21 years ago from Saline, Mich. He was a retired survey supervisor for the State of Michigan, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, and a member of VFW Post 10209, Brooksville Elks Lodge 2582, Brookridge Nine Hole League and Brookridge Golf Association.
Survivors include two sons, Gary L. of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Joseph of Marysville, Mich.; two brothers, Jacob of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Walter of Port Huron; two sisters, Mary Stahler of Tucson, Ariz., and Ann Chisholm of Brooksville; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Howard L. Cregger, 82, of Brookridge, Brooksville, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Lancaster County, Pa., and moved to this area 23 years ago from Aberdeen, Md. He was a retired civil service employee, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, past member of the Aberdeen Fire Department, serving 36 years, and a member of Aberdeen Lodge 187 A.F.&A.M., Odd Fellows, and Mariner United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; a son, Dennis of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Bonnie Jean Cregger Cole of Brooksville; a sister, Mamie Marlin of Lancaster County; and five grandchildren.

Mallie Birge, 89, of Brooksville, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003 at Brooksville Health Care Center.
She was born in Bonifay. She was a member of Church of God, Plant City, and was a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include a son, Larry Birge of Dade City; a daughter, Doris Lester of Bushnell; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Patricia M. Collins, 77, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003 at her home.

Survivors include two sons, John T. Collins of Pleasanton, Calif., and Eugene W. Collins of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three daughters, Kathleen Burns of Huntington Station, Long Island, N.Y., JoAnne L. Degennaro of Palm Coast and Mary Lou Collins of Deer Park, Long Island, N.Y.; three sisters, Mary A. She was born in Aurora, Ill., and moved to this area 20 years ago from Rockford, Ill. She was a homemaker, attended St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Spring Hill, was a member of the Altar Guild at St. Andrew's, and was an avid bridge player.
Survivors include two sons, Steven K. Dahlberg of Fort Lauderdale and Donald M. Forkner of Madison, Wis.; and a grandson.

Peter W. Nodes, 66, of Brookridge, Brooksville, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He was born in Bergenfield, N.J., and moved to this area 24 years ago from Hazlet, N.J. He retired as a police sergeant after serving 20 years with the New York Port Authority, was a U.S. Marine veteran, a 24-year member of Brooksville Elks Lodge 2582, and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Brooksville.
Survivors include his wife, Maria G.; four daughters, M. Caroline Evans of Holmdel, N.J., Phyllis A. Gottsch of Keyport, N.J., Regina M. Triana of Homosassa and Angela F. Miller of Brooksville; his mother, Caroline Nodes of Minnesota; two brothers, John K. Nodes Jr. of Post Falls, Idaho, and Daniel Nodes of Imperial, Pa.; and eight grandchildren.

Edward V. Urbano, 76, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003 in Brooksville.
He was born in Providence, R.I., and moved to this area 27 years ago from Cranston, R.I. He worked in the water division maintenance department at Hernando County Utilities Department and was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; a son, Edward Urbano of Tampa; a daughter, Debra Domenico of Brooksville; two brothers, Arthur and Alfanzo Urbano of Cranston; and three sisters, Angelina Pasquazzi and Rena Moloicone, both of Cranston, and Eleanor Gordon of Palm Beach.

Ralph E. Parson, 38, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, Sept. 24 2003.
He moved to this area 21 years ago from his native Tampa. He was a stay-at-home dad since 1996 and was previously a pipefitter who worked in the construction industry. He was known as the "neighborhood dad" and was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Crystal Sue; two daughters, Brittnee Violet Parson and Caitlyn Patricia Parson, both of Spring Hill; and two sisters, Ella May Winner of Dade City and Brenda Kay Brennan of Simi Valley, Calif.

Alvin L. Gist, 85, of Brooksville, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003 at his home.
He was born in Wheatland, Mo., and moved to this area 43 years ago from Eglin Air Force Base, Fort Walton Beach. He was a retired World War II U.S. Air Force veteran, a member of the Masonic Lodge, and a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalie Ruth; four daughters, Myra M. Lemons of Muskogee, Okla., Louise M. Loftis of Arizona, and Diana S. Taylor and Rena A. Dees, both of Brooksville; two brothers, Bill and Joe Gist, both of Missouri; a sister, Rena Parks of Missouri; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Charles L. Smith, 70, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at Brooksville Regional Hospital.
He was born in Scoville, Ky., and moved to this area nine years ago from Fairborn, Ohio. He was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran who served as a master sergeant in Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW in Tampa and the American Legion in Fairborn.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Alan and Timothy Scott, both of Land O' Lakes; four brothers, John D. of Latonia, Ky., Wendell S. of Spring, Texas, Robert D. of St. Petersburg, and Dennis E. of Spring Hill; four sisters, Frances G. Price of Phoenix, Ariz., Betty J. Freudiger and Carol A. Ferris, both of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Linda Y. Price of Brenham, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include three daughters, Donna DeHaas of Spring Hill, Cindy Clawson of Cherry Tree, Pa., and Wanda Lapp of Indiana, Pa.; two sons, Ronald Lapp of Homer City, Pa., and Mark Lapp of Pennsylvania; a brother, Harvey Anderson of Ligonier; two sisters, Ida and Wilma, both of Ligonier; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was a homemaker, a member of the New York Club, Irish American Club and Catholic Charities, all of Spring Hill, and a longtime member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, where she was a greeter and member of their Welcoming Committee.
Survivors include three daughters, Clare Murphy of Massapequa Park, Dolores Rose Peers of Spring Hill, and Joanne Burnett of Fishkill, N.Y.; two sons, Gerard Peers of Elmsford, N.Y., and Vincent Peers of Seaford, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, John J.; a son, John J. III of Burlington; two daughters, Cynthia Connell of Palmer, Mass., and Cathleen Connell of Wayland, Mass.; a sister, Mary Cary of Brockton, Mass.; and nine grandchildren.

He was born in Revere, Mass., and moved to this area 17 years ago from Waltham, Mass. He was a retired mailman from the U.S. Postal Service, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, and a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, Guy Cericola of North Berwick, Maine; a daughter, Carol Cericola of Spring Hill; three brothers, Joseph Cericola of Natick, Mass., Donald Cericola of Port Richey and William Cericola of West Yarmouth, Mass.; and a granddaughter.

Survivors include her husband, Judson; a son, John Vrsecky of Hewitt, N.J.; three daughters, Janice Kissack of Atlanta, Ga., Dianne Hettema of West Milford, N.J., and Lorraine Krause of Clifton, Va.; and eight grandchildren.

John Nico Vermeulen, 75, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002 at his home.

Survivors include a brother, Frederick J. of the Netherlands; a sister, Johanna Helenna Hakman of the Netherlands; and four nieces and nephews.
