John R. Hyland, 84, of Brooksville, died Thursday, July 17, 2003 at Heartland of Brooksville.
He was born in Greenwich, Conn., and moved to this area 21 years ago from North Hampton, Mass. He was a member of the 1st Marine Division Association and the National Association of Federal Employees.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; a son, Robert of Evansville, Ind.; two brothers, James and Charles, both of Connecticut; and two grandchildren.

John Hermans, 79, of Hudson, formerly of Spring Hill, died Friday, July 18, 2003 at home.
He was born in Garfield, N.J., and moved to Hudson a year ago from Spring Hill. He had moved to Spring Hill 14 years ago from Agawam, Mass. He retired from Northeast Contractors, Chicopee, Mass., and also had worked for Roy M. Wright Construction Co., Springfield, Mo., as superintendent for many years. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran and a member of Aripeka Elks Lodge 2520, Hudson.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalie C.; four sons, Bruce M. Hermans of Granby, Mass., Blaire A. Hermans and John P. Hermans, both of Southwick, Mass., and Scott M. Hermans of Springfield; two daughters, Karen M. Haynes of Springfield and Nancy E. Zaborowski of Agawam; a brother, Nicholas Hermans of Hawthorne, N.J.; a sister, Clara Elvin of Goffstown, N.H.; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Hilda G. Matthews, 96, of Hudson, formerly of Brooksville, died Sunday, April 4, 2004, at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson.
She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and moved to Hudson 10 years ago from Brooksville. She was a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include her brother, Philip H. Scheiding of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.

Jane J. Parisi, 75, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, April 4, 2004, at her home.
She was born in New York, N.Y., and moved to this area 23 years ago from Staten Island, N.Y. She was a homemaker and an artist. She was a former lifeguard and former volunteer at St. Sylvester's Church and Grammar School in Staten Island. She attended St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, where she was a volunteer for their thrift store.
Survivors include her husband, Anthony V.; two sons, Anthony of Scotch Plains, N.J., and Paul of Spring Hill; two daughters, Rosemary Sporty of Santa Ana, Calif., and Dr. Jane Pontious of Bordentown, N.J.; and nine grandchildren.

Robert M. Kues, 80, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, April 4, 2004, at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and moved to this area 29 years ago from Largo. He was a groundskeeper for 15 years with the Pasco County Parks and Recreation Department, a World War II U.S. Air Force veteran, a member of the VFW in Odessa and Midland, Texas, and a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Louise; and a brother, Howard Kues of Kentucky.

Joseph Cimera, 84, of Brookridge, Brooksville, died Monday, April 5, 2004, at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Chicago, Ill., and moved to this area 14 years ago from Burbank, Ill. He retired after 35 years as a dispatcher for Mobil Oil Company. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of Ex-POW Chapter 1, Port Richey, and American Legion Post 186.
Survivors include his wife, Marie; two daughters, JoAnn Rose of Worth, Ill., and Joyce Pallegrino of Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Linda L. Carpenter, 60, of Brooksville, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at her home.
She was born in Elliott, Miss., and moved to this area 24 years ago from Pennsylvania. She was a unit clerk for a local hospital and was a Seventh Day Adventist by faith.
Survivors include her husband, William D.; her father, Earl Martin; a son, Charles; three daughters, Tammy, Terri and Teresa; a sister, Beverly; a brother, Mark; and three grandchildren.

Joseph A. Colyer, 80, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Tampa and moved to this area eight years ago from Orange, N.J. He retired from teaching art in Newark, N.J., was a member of the African American Club and a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mertie; a son, Lance of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three daughters, Leslie R. Colyer-Brown of East Orange, N.J., Laurie Colyer-Aversa of West Caldwell, N.J., and Lynn J. of Weehawken, N.J.; and four grandchildren.

She was born in Detroit, Mich., and moved to this area 20 years ago from Livonia, Mich. She was a retired legal secretary and a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Brooksville.
Survivors include two sons, Gary of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Dale of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Thomas Nunn of Fort Myers; two sisters, Joan Mechan of Allen Park, Mich., and Sharon Dapprich of Cleveland, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.

Gerard "Gerry" Smith, 54, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002 at home.
He was born in Queens, N.Y., and moved to this area 17 years ago from Huntington, Long Island, N.Y. He owned and operated a commercial contracting business in College Point, N.Y. He was a 1966 graduate of Holy Cross High School, a musician, boxer/trainer, owner of thoroughbreds at Belmont Race Track, and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include two daughters, Michelle Barry and Tammy, both of Spring Hill; three sons, David, Adam and Matthew, all of Spring Hill; his mother, Dorothy of East Norwich, N.Y.; three sisters, Mary Ann Hukil of Eat Norwich, Dot Behea of Buchanan, W.Va., and Karen Ervolino of Glen Cove, N.Y.; and 10 grandchildren, Brian Joseph, Jesse Bartolis, Sean Bartolis, Diana McKenna, Tylor Biggs, Krystal Anania, Skyla Smith, Brianna Smith, Sheamus Smith and Victoria Barry.

Naldi C. Dunn, 79, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002 at Brooksville Regional Hospital.
She was born in Beaver, W.Va., and moved to this area 32 years ago from Warren, Ohio. She was a homemaker, a member of the Garden Club of Brooksville, Ladies Lift Group, board member, participated in local craft shows, and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School in Warren and Brooksville Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include two daughters, Glenna Sticher of Spring Hill and Una Meade of Glendale, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Curtis and John R. Meade, both of Glendale, Walter Kevin Page of Hillsborough, N.C., Kimberly Dawn Hohenstern of Frederick, Md., and Keith Edward Page of Germantown, Md.; and three great-grandchildren, Tori Ann Rydberg of Raleigh, N.C., Jacob Cody Hohenstern of Frederick and Kristina Elizabeth Page of Durham, N.C.

Lorraine M. Butzen, 84, of Brookridge, Brooksville, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002 at her home.
She was born in Elmhurst, Ill., and moved to this area 19 years ago from Glenview, Ill. She was a retired circuit board assembler for AT&T, and a member of DayStar and St. Anthony Catholic Church, Brooksville.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; a son, Larry O. Knudson of Albuquerque, N.M.; a stepdaughter, Mary Jane Blumenfeld of Skokie, Ill.; a sister, Jean White of Blue Island, Ill.; five grandsons; and four great-grandsons.

Ruth A. Winter, 85, of Orlando, formerly of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002 at her home.
Before moving to Orlando, she was a resident of Spring Hill for the past 32 years coming from Lombard, Ill. She was a homemaker and a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Brooksville.
Survivors include a son, Clifford A. of Wichita, Kan.; two daughters, Kathleen R. Winter-Lawson of Salisbury, Md., and Susan J. Winter-Hallman of Orlando; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was born in New Berlin, N.Y., and a winter resident from Oneida, N.Y. He was a retired silversmith with Oneida Limited Inc. for 30 years out of Sherill, N.Y., and a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

Delbert Earl Smith, 74, of Brooksville, died Saturday, May 3, 2003 at his home.
He was born in Great Falls, Mont., and moved to this area 18 years ago from New York. He was a retired chef, a Korean conflict U.S. Army veteran, and a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include a son, Dwayne of Ronkonkoma, N.Y.; two daughters, Della Smith and Darlene Decker, both of Coram, N.Y.; a brother, Edgar of Verdon, Ill.; a sister, Barbara Jean Matthews of Olathe, Kan.; and four grandchildren.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
