Mary L. O'Brien, 78, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center, Clyde, N.Y.
She was born in Rockford, Ill., and moved to this area six years ago from Waynesville, N.C. She was a Catholic by faith and helped at the Senior Citizens Center in Waynesville.
Survivors include three sons, Rennie of Spring Hill, Thomas of Waynesville and Edwin of Canton, N.C.; three grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.

Nathaniel David Synder, infant, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003 at All Children's Hospital, St. Petersburg.

She was born in Queens, N.Y., and moved to this area 30 years ago. She was a cake decorator who worked at Publix, Winn-Dixie and Kash n' Karry. She coached girls' softball and was a Christian by faith.
Survivors include her husband, John J. II; three sons, John J. III, Frank J. and Anthony J., all of Spring Hill; a daughter, Gina Stifanic of Spring Hill; three brothers, John A. Garofano, Larry J. Garofano and Robert Garofano, all of Spring Hill; and six grandchildren.

He was a World War II disabled U.S. Army veteran, a 13-year member of Elks Lodge 2582, Brooksville, and a member of the International Brotherhood of the Teamsters Union of New York and St. Theresa Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dolly; a daughter, Nancy Pasculli of Spring Hill; a brother, Frank Varvara of Carmel, N.Y.; a sister, Leonora Varvara of Purdy Hill, N.Y.; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter.

She is survived by her husband, David O.; two sisters, Helen Hattis of Sebring and Hyla Westover of Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.

Herbert "Herb" Quick, 80, of Brooksville, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He moved to this area 22 years ago from his native Highland, N.Y. He was a produce truck driver for over 40 years and a member of Garden Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nina; and three brothers, Martin, James and William, all of Highland.

She was a Registered Nurse, a graduate of Nashua Memorial Hospital, founder of Merrimack Valley Home Health Care, a rehab nurse with Community Council of Nashua, N.H., a certified education specialist with Hudson Memorial School, Hudson, N.H., and a member of Eastern Star, Nashua, Fort Nightly Club, Hudson, N.H., and the State Nursing Association of New Hampshire.
Survivors include her husband, Donald; and a son, Bruce of Spring Hill.

John Garofano Sr., 84, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003 at Bayonet Point Rehabilitation Center, Hudson.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved to this area 30 years ago from Queens, N.Y. He was a U.S. Army veteran, retired from the New York City Fire Department and Withlacoochee River Electric, Brooksville, and was a Catholic.
He is survived by three sons, John Jr., Larry and Bobby, all of Spring Hill; a daughter, Marianne of Spring Hill; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
