Helen M. Bruno, 89, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at her home.
She was born in Perth Amboy, N.J., and moved to this area five years ago from Red Bank, N.J. She retired from South Amboy Hospital, South Amboy, N.J., and was a member of the National Nursing Society, Auxiliary Elks Lodge, Iselin, N.J., Visiting Nurses Association, St. James Catholic Church, Red Bank, and St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Survivors include two brothers, William C. Soyak of Delton and George M. Soyak of Spring Hill; a sister, Dorothy Bainton of Englishtown, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.

Frank D. Voscinar, 85, of Masaryktown, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
He was born in Palmerton, Pa., and moved to this area 76 years ago. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corp veteran, serving as a navigator. He was former mayor of Masaryktown, graduated in the Class of 1935 from Hernando High School, Brooksville, helped organize the Masaryktown Kiwanis Club and Little League Baseball of Masaryktown, was associated with the Masaryktown Egg Co-op, a Protestant by faith, and a member of Spring Hill United Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Louise; a daughter, Nancy May of Masaryktown; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Haile of Clayton, Calif.; a brother, Stephen of Masaryktown; two sisters, Josephine Malloch of Masaryktown and Anna Dunkle of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Marion G. Wanat, 80, of Brooksville, died Thursday, July 11, 2002 in Brooksville.
She was born in Mason City, Iowa, and moved to this area 18 years ago from Falls Church, Va. She was a retried secretary for the U.S. Government and a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include two sons, John A. of Brooksville and Gregory G. of Los Angeles, Calif.; two daughters, Ann Keppler of Ocala and Jean Brandt of Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister, Charlotte of Grand Junction, Colo.; and seven grandchildren.

Palmira C. Rosario, 84, of New Bedford, Mass., died Thursday, July 11, 2002 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville. At the time of her death, she was visiting her son, Antonio of Spring Hill.
She was born in Faial Azores, Portugal. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, Antonio DoRosario of Spring Hill and Fernando of Portugal; a daughter, Maria Garcia of New Bedford; a brother, Manuel Morais of New Bedford; a sister, Evarista Neves of New Port, R.I.; a grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.

Alexander Ross, 89, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, July 11, 2002 at Mattie Pickett Adult Care Home, Brooksville.
He was born in Scotland and moved to this area 22 years ago from Palm Beach, Fla. He was a retired horticulturist for private homes, a member of Egyptian Shrine Temple, Tampa, and a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Ena; a daughter, Sandra Moore of Spring Hill; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Salina H. Baltz, 93, of Brooksville Wesleyan Village, died Friday, July 12, 2002 at Brooksville Health Care Center.
She was born in Alburg, Vt., and moved to this area 21 years ago from Louisville, Ky. She retired as a registered nurse, taught nursing at the Board of Education, Cleveland, Ohio, and was a member of Ohio State Teachers and Brooksville Wesleyan Church.
She is survived by her friends at the Brooksville Wesleyan Village.

John H. Ryszetnyk, 80 of Spring Hill, died Friday, April 23, 2004 at his home.
He was born in Staten Island, N.Y. and moved to this area 14 years ago from Staten Island, N.Y. He was a Catholic by faith and a member of St. Theresa Church. He retired as a sergeant from the U.S. Army and served his country during World War II. He was a member of Elks Lodge 1061.
He is survived by his wife Carmen of Spring Hill; two sons, John, Jr. and Charles, both of Staten Island, N.Y.; three daughters, Dorothy DiCerbo and Delores Ryszetnyk, both of Schenectady, N.Y., and Deirdre Thomas of Staten Island, N.Y.; and 13 Grandchildren.

Robert E. Wilson, 64, of Brooksville, died Friday, April 23, 2004 at his home.
He was born in Wilmington, Del., and moved to this area 18 years ago from St. Petersburg. He was currently employed with Hertz Corp., but previously worked as a service manager for Walker Ford and Gary Brown Ford. He was a member of Moose Lodge 2205 in Largo and was a member of Garden Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary C.; mother Dorothy H. Suarez of Brooksville; three daughters, Dorothy Jane Wilson of Brooksville, Josephine Cummings Dearen of Jacksonville and Debora Ann Dalton of St. Petersburg; two sons, John Turner Wilson II of Terra Hutt, Texas and Michael Lee Webb of Indianapolis, Ind.; a brother, Allen Wilson of Lakeland; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Verna M. Nigro, 90, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, April 25, 2004 at Hernando Care Center in Brooksville.
She was born in Buffalo, N.Y. and moved to this area 21 years ago from Amherst, N.Y. She was a retired teacher and was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, Bart Nigro of St. Petersburg and Russell Nigro of Spring Hill; and one grandson.

Florence H. Gerard, 59, of Brooksville, died Monday, April 7, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He was born in Glen Cove, N.Y., and moved to this area 17 years ago from Hicksville, N.Y. She was a nurse's aide, having worked for Brooksville Regional Hospital.
Survivors include her daughter, Dawne Kwiatkoski of Brooksville; a sister, Virginia of New York; and a brother, John of New York.

Gilbert Anderson, 74, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at Kindred Hospital, Tampa.
He was born in Jamaica, West Indies, and moved to this area 11 years ago from Queens, N.Y. He was a retired accountant, an employee of Publix supermarket at Seven Hills, a choir member, Deacon and treasurer of Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Vera; a daughter, Patricia of Jacksonville; four brothers, Arthur and Walford, both of Jamaica, and Adrian and Lebert, both of England; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

George R. Thomas, 84, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Fort Wayne, Ind., and moved to this area 23 years ago from Battle Creek, Mich. He was a welder, a World War II U.S. Army Air Force veteran, and attended Fellowship Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Judy Lafler of Battle Creek; a stepdaughter, Jeannine Dawson of Hanover, Mich.; two stepsons, John DeBoe of Jonesville, Mich., and Lonnie Lawyer of Battle Creek; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She moved to this area 44 years ago from her native Flushing, N.Y. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Masaryktown.
Survivors include two sons, Owen and Joe, both of Spring Hill; two sisters, Blanche Kubik of Spring Hill and Jeanette Zizek of Long Island, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.

Kevin J. Kennedy, 69, of Brookridge, Brooksville, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Elmira, N.Y., and moved to this area two years ago from Buffalo, N.Y. He was a musician, taught piano and was a member of the Musician's Union, Buffalo. He was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Karen; and a brother, Daniel F. of Claxton, Ga.

William David Starcher, 42, of Kissimmee, died Jan. 17, 2003.
He was born in Spencer, W.Va., and moved to Florida four years ago from Elyria, Ohio. He worked in the hospitality industry and was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include two sons, William Aaron of Crescent City, Calif., and Joshua David of Hudson; his parents, Charles and Marlene of Elyria; maternal grandmother, Ethel Tanner of Salem, Ohio; and two brothers, Eddie and Donald, both of Elyria.

Leona C. Smith, 87, of Simpsonville, S.C., formerly of Brooksville, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001 at Summit Place Nursing Home, Simpsonville.
She was born in Delaware, Ohio, and moved to Simpsonville five years ago from Brooksville.
She was a Registered Nurse, owner/operator of a small business, active in the Democratic Party of Hernando County and Lioness of Hernando County, and a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, Brooksville.
Survivors include her stepdaughter, Iris Brown of Saginaw, Mich..; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Harold E. Smith, 72, of Brooksville, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Brooksville.
He moved to this area seven years ago from his native Portland, Maine. He was a retired installer for Crest Glass Co., a Korean Conflict U.S. Army veteran, and a member of the American Legion, Portland.
Survivors include five daughters, Kathy Gregory of S. Casco, Maine, Terri Baird of Casco, Maine, Jackie of Harrison, Maine, and Millie Beane and Tina Badalucco, both of Bridgton, Maine; two stepsons, James LeVecque of Nashua, N.H., and Daniel LeVecque of Scarborough, Maine; four stepdaughters, Karen LeSiege of Spring Hill, Debbie Knouse of Spartenburg, S.C., Paula Jordan of Scarborough and Beth Roma of Portland; two brothers, Lockhart of Lewiston, Maine, and Robert of Naples, Fla.; two sisters, Edith Roma of Westbrook, Maine, and Louise DiPaolo of Bar Mills, Maine; a female companion, Lennie Whitehead of New Port Richey; 26 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, George D. of Pittsburgh, Pa., and John Clarence of Punta Gorda, Fla.; three daughters, Cecelia Goodwin and Susan Walker, both of Brooksville, and Joi Hope of Rifle, Colo.; a brother, Dan Ferrell of Brooksville; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Kerry of Santa Fe, N.M.; a brother, Frank Marshall of Sarasota; and a sister, Rylma Nink of Pasadena, Texas.

Margaret C. Black, 96, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001 at Heartland of Brooksville.

Survivors include a son, Douglas, Jr. of Spring Hill; a daughter, Mary E. Dykens of Spring Hill; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Cornelis 'Cor' Brokling, of Spring Hill, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001 at his home.
