Herschel Ray Thomas, 60, of Brooksville, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004 at Hospice House on Cortez Boulevard.
He moved to this area 30 years ago from his native Birmingham, Ala. He was a journeyman mechanic, a member of the National Guard, charter member of the Moose Lodge #1676 of Brooksville, and the Northside Baptist Church of Brooksville.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; three sons, Ted, Steven, and Michael Thomas, all of Brooksville; two daughters, Tammie Ellis of Bonifay, and Toni Ellis of Beaufort, S.C.; and 12 grandchildren.

Barbara Jean "Bubba Jean" Viars, 60, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2003 at Hernando Pasco Hospice Care Center in New Port Richey.
She was born in Tampa, Fla., and moved to this area 30 years ago. She was the owner/operator of Barbara's Blossoms, and enjoyed animals, flowers, computer games, shopping, making her own greeting cards, and reading the Bible. She was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Randy Viars of Spring Hill; a daughter, Denise Ann Klempner of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a brother, Bobby Williams of Tampa; her father, Maurice Williams; two step-daughters, Ramona Viars and Melissa Viars of Spring Hill; a step-son, Landy Viars of Spring Hill; a granddaughter, Hannah Rae Viars of Spring Hill; a grandson, Joseph Grey Dunion of Spring Hill; two half-brothers, Lonnie Williams of Riverview, Fla., and Gary Williams of Tampa; two half-sisters, Sylvia Fields of Calhoun Falls, S.C., and Linda Ackroyde of Ruskin, Fla.; four aunts, Helen McCaul of Ruskin, Fla., Gertha Ward of Temple Terrace, Fla., Mary Lee of Brandon, Fla., and Georgia of Gibsonton, Fla.; two uncles, Johnny Williams of Ruskin and Clarance Johnscon of Brandon; numerous nieces and nephews; lifelong friends, Dee Holdaway of Hudson, Fla., Teri Whitfield of Statesboro, Ga., and Janice Morris of Plant City, Fla.; her dogs, Dixie, Prissy, Harley, and Brandy; and her cats, Blossom and Bloomer.

He was born in Somerville, Mass., and moved to this area seven years ago from Quincy, Mass. He was a retired bowling alley manager, owner of Mr. Jack's Ice Cream, an avid bowler and a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; two sons, Kevin Quinn and Michael Quinn, both of Woburn, Mass.; and a grandchild.

James F. Pederson Sr., 62, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003 at Brooksville Regional Hospital.
He was born in Moline, Ill., and moved to this area 19 years ago from Miami. He was the co-owner and operator of A1 Mower Sales & Service, Brooksville, an avid woodworker especially making furniture, a mechanic and attended Faith Presbyterian Church, where he participated in numerous church activities including ushering and mowing the church grounds.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; three sons, David of Sebastian, Fla., James Jr. of Korea and Charles A. of Brooksville; two daughters, Jean Giebler and Penny Lee Caldwell, both of Brooksville; his mother, Jauineta Pederson of Brooksville; a brother, Gerald "Pete" Pederson of Brooksville; a sister, Donna Bailey of Miami; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of St. Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Brooksville, Nature Coast Festival Singers and the Florida Slavonic Choir.
Survivors include a son, Michael of Teaticket, Mass.; a daughter, Mary Ann Dougherty of Spring Hill; a sister, Joanna Mazurek of Chico, Calif.; a brother, Julian of Whippany, N.J.; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Gerard E. Brunner, 79, of Timber Pines, Spring Hill, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Harrison, N.Y., and moved to Florida 15 years ago from Plainview, N.Y. He retired from AT&T in 1984, was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Telephone Pioneers.
Survivors include his wife, Joan; a daughter, Barbara Sbrocco of Tampa; two sons, Robert of Newburgh, N.Y., James of Parkland, Fla., and Stephen of St. James, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.

Paul Walter Klepac, 78, of Masaryktown, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003 at Evergreen Woods Health Care Center.
He was born in Ford City, Pa., and moved to this area 44 years ago from Perrysburg, Ohio. He was a cattle farmer and a member of First Catholic Slovak Union of the U.S., Local Carpenters Union in Toledo and Tampa, and St. Anthony Catholic Church, Brooksville.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi; three sons, Jim Klepac of Macon, Mo., Steve Klepac of Masaryktown and Gary Klepac of Vero Beach; two daughters, Barbara A. Wells of Land O' Lakes and Annette Weidenbenner of Brooksville; two sisters, Anna Moras of Redondo, Calif., and Josephine Charcoal of Toledo; and seven grandchildren.

She was born in Queens, N.Y., and moved to this area 12 years ago from Citrus County. She was a Catholic by faith and did oil painting and crafts.
Survivors include a son, Roger D. Jones of Concord, Calif.; a daughter, Linda Clay of Spring Hill; a sister, Isabel Glenn of Donnalson, Ga.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

William J. "Bill" Stewart, 51, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003 at his home.
He moved to this area 12 years ago from his native Queens, N.Y. He worked for the National Organization for the Disabled. He was a volunteer at the courthouse in Brooksville and gave talks about drugs at local schools.
Survivors include his mother, Lucy M. Stewart of Brooksville; a brother, Thomas G. of East Windsor, N.J.; and two nephews.

Margaret A. "Peggy" Cabriele, 70, of Brooksville, died Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
She was born in Chicago, Ill., later resided in New Rochelle, N.Y., and moved to this area seven years ago.
She worked as a nursing supervisor at the VA Hospital in Montrose, N.Y. She was a nursing home supervisor at the VA Hospital in Castle Pointe, N.Y., a volunteer nursing aide at Powell Middle School, a member of the Democratic Executive Committee in Hernando County and Westchester Country Club, Rye, N.Y. for 22 years. She was an active member of the Democratic Party in New York and was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Dominick M.; two daughters, Catherine Chin of Chatham, N.J., and Mary Cabriele Hudson of Vienna, Va.; and two granddaughters.

Clyde E. Daughtry, 56, of Brooksville, died Sunday, July 20, 2003 at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy; a daughter, Nicole; and a brother, Geoffrey Daughtry.

Radames Figueroa, 57, of Spring Hill, died Monday, July 21, 2003 at his home.
He was born in Puerto Rico and moved to this area six years ago from Staten Island, N.Y. He retired from Huff Enterprises. He was a member of Local No. 8, Brooklyn, N.Y., and the Pigeon Club of Pasco County, and was a Catholic by faith.

Survivors include three sisters, Dorothy Martin and Wanda Monastberger of Spring Hill and Mildred Wojcieski of Port Richey.

He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder, a Sunday School teacher and a leader in the Puppet Ministry. He was also a past member of the Rotary Club, Spring Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Margo; a son, Scott of Spring Hill; two daughters, Jessica Thomas and Kim Thomson, both of Spring Hill; his mother, Jean of New Port Richey; two sisters, Cathy Rowe of Spring Hill and Cindy Waite of Lake Odessa, Mich.; and three grandchildren.
