Thomas "Tom" Burns, 78, a winter resident of Brooksville, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Massena, N.Y., and had been a winter resident of Brooksville for the past 15 years. He was the former owner and operator of Evans Express, Inc. trucking company and later worked for the Town of Greenfield. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Luella H. Burns of Saratoga, N.Y.; and two brothers, William Burns of Socita, N.Y., and Robert Burns of Schenectady, N.Y.

John Lawless, 78, of Ridge Manor, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at his home.
He was born in Chicago, Ill., and moved to this area a year ago from Round Lake Beach, Ill. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, having served on the first ship into Nagasaki after the bomb. He was a member of Sheet Metal Worker Local 73, Chicago.
Survivors include a daughter, Joan Thomas of Fairfield, Calif.; two sons, Kevin Lawless of Chicago and Robert Lawless of Houlton, Maine; a sister, Claire Swieczkowski of Arlington, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

Gerard E. VanSise, 71, of Timber Pines, Spring Hill, died Monday, Jan.10, 2005, at his home.
He was born in Mineola, N.Y., and moved to this area 11 years ago from Hauppauge, Long Island, N.Y. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a Lutheran by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Carolee "Lee"; two sons, Gerard Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, and Gary of Stony Brook, N.Y.; and two grandsons.

Gordon T. Wolfe, 75, of Brookridge, Brooksville, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at his home.
He moved to this area 13 years ago from his native Toledo, Ohio. He retired from Toledo Technologies Automotive Parts Manufacturing after 35 years of service as a tool and die maker. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of American Legion 0186, Brooksville, Moose Lodge 1676, Brooksville, 43rd Infantry Division Veterans Association, life member of the VFW, Marblehead, Ohio, National Campers and Travelers, Inc., Port Lawrence Chapter of Royal Arch Masons 176, Toledo, Scottish Rite Valley, Toledo, and past master of Harbor Light Lodge F&AM 746, Toledo.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice; two daughters, Karen Howe of Glassboro, N.J., and Sandra Flory of Kinston, N.C.; and six grandchildren.

Cornelius "Cook" F. McLaughlin, 76, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at his home.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to this area 13 years ago from Deer Park, Long Island, N.Y. He retired after 42 years of service from Abraham & Strauss, where he was a carpet consultant. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served as an Army Sergeant during the Korean conflict. He was active in military activities, a member of VFW Post 10209 and American Legion 186, and attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Terry; a son, Brian C. of Oldsmar; a sister, Bridget Rush of Lauder Hill; and three grandchildren.

John Robert "Bob" Frawley, 80, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He moved to this area 20 years ago from his native Lynn, Mass. He was a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, having served as a radioman and was involved in the Normandy landings. He was a guard at the Brookridge Community where he lived and was a member of the Brookridge Lion Club, Knights of Columbus, Lynn and Hibernians Organization.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; a son, James R. of Lynn; three daughters, Paula J. of Lynn, Melinda Cote of Kickapoo, Ill., and Jan Hanley of Danvers, Mass.; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Edward L. Dennis, 77, of Brooksville, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007 at the Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center. He was a native of Brooksville.
Mr. Dennis was a contractor in the construction industry and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons, Gary and Rick, both of Brooksville, and Larry, of Sevierville, Tenn.; daughter, Cyndi Lukawski, of Spring Hill; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Walter J. Davis Sr., 73, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007 at the Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center. He was born in Midway and moved to the area 14 years ago from Middletown, N.J.
Mr. Davis was a member and a deacon of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Shirlene; sons, Walter Jr. and Michael, both of Middletown; sisters, Maude Boatwright and Zannie Collins, both of Fort Pierce; and one granddaughter.

Mary Joanna Colon, 63, of Brooksville, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2007 at Tampa General Hospital. She was born in Converse, Ind.
Survivors include her husband; daughter; and three grandchildren.

Peter V. Feola Sr., of Woodbury, Conn., and Spring Hill, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at his home in Woodbury.
He was born in Bridgeport, Conn., and was a longtime resident of Trumbull, Conn. He served as a member of the Trumbull Lions Club for more than 25 years, including serving as past president and treasurer. He was active in the Knights of Columbus and was a Eucharistic Minister for the Roman Catholic Church. Prior to his retirement in 1995, he owned Peter Feola and Son, Inc., a general contracting business. Previously, he was a manufacturer's representative for paint and home improvement products. Prior to that time, he owned Feola Brothers Auto Repair, Bridgeport, Conn.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy N. Mickune Feola; a son, Peter Feola Jr. of Washington, Conn.; two daughters, Michel Riep of Fayetteville, Pa., and Kathleen Cavolina of Marblehead, Mass., two brothers, Nicholas Feola and Mark Feola, both of Spring Hill; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Doris Ann Pitras, 58, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at her home.
She was born in Shreveport, La., and moved to this area three years ago from Tampa. She had moved to Florida 20 years ago from Cloverdale, Ind. She was retired from home health care and was a member of Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include two sons, Ty Young of Spring Hill and Richard Blair of Cloverdale; a daughter, Stephanie Smith of Spring Hill; a sister, Linda Boren of Bridge City, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Alfred "Al" Robert Tammaro, 73, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to this area 18 years ago from Freeport, Long Island, N.Y. He was a retired customs inspector at the U.S. Treasury Department, a Korean conflict U.S. Army and Navy veteran, a Pinkerton security guard at Waters Land Development, Spring Hill, a member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Mariner Vikings "The Pretenders" team at Mariner Lanes, Spring Hill, U.S. Navy Reserves, and St. Theresa Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons, Paul T. of Cincinnati, Ohio, Robert of Smithtown, N.Y., and Edward of South Hempstead, N.Y.; a brother, Richard Tammaro of Valley Stream; and five grandchildren.

Jay A. Klein, 59, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He was born in Newark, N.J., and moved to this area four years ago from East Brunswick, N.J. He was Jewish by faith.
Survivors include three daughters, Lora Klein of Englishtown, N.J., Debra Klein of Plymouth, Minn., and Rachel Klein of Boston, Mass.; and a brother, Michael Klein of Lawrenceville, N.J.

Blanche T. D'Onofrio, 89, of Spring Hill, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
She was born in Manhattan, N.Y., and moved to this area 18 years ago from East Rockaway, Long Island, N.Y. She retired from the Bulova Watch Company in 1980 as a quality inspector and attended St. Theresa Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Walsh of Hampton Bays, Long Island, N.Y.; a son, Robert D'Onofrio of Spring Hill; a sister, Marge Kelley of San Diego, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

George W. Bleezarde, 81, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
He was born in Passaic, N.J., and moved to this area 14 years ago from Toms River, N.J. He was a retired program monitor for Ocean County, N.J., a member of Brotherhood Lodge 375, past Master Grand Lodge of New Jersey, alumnus of U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, information representative for U.S. Merchant Marine Association, and life member of Admiral Farragut Academy, all of New Jersey.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; a son, Alan G. of Nutley, N.J.; three daughters, Nancy Kesselring of Spring Hill, Carol Ann Dziura of Nutley and Janet Bock of Beachwood, N.J.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Allene Ann Maurer, 69, of Brooksville, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, at her home.
She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and moved to this area 15 years ago from Orlando. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Survivors include her son, Richard Wiegand of Orlando; two daughters, Victoria S. Poter of Richfield, Ohio, and Catherine Wiegand of Cleveland, Ohio; and four grandchildren.

Robert E. Stanford, 81, of Spring Hill, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at Spring Hill Health and Rehab.
He was born in Duluth, Minn., and moved to this area nine years ago from Chicago, Ill. He was a truck driver, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a member of Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 521, Spring Hill, and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, and volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, JoAnn Jaroszewski of Valparaiso, Ind.; a brother, Murray Stanford of Spring Hill; a sister, Marjorie Abramson of Duluth; five stepgrandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren.

William Wearshing, 73, of Weeki Wachee, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
He was born in Camden, N.J., and moved to this area 11 years ago from Fairview, N.J. He was a retired credit manager for GMAC, a Korean conflict U.S. Marine Corp veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart award, and a member of the VFW, 1st Marine Division Association, National Rifle Association and Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
Survivors include his wife, Joan; five daughters, Patricia Haranczak of Laveen, Ariz., Chris Razey of Spring Hill, Carol Ferrante of Haddon Township, N.J., Mary McCarthy of Clearwater, and Joanne Dyke of Maple Shade, N.J.; a sister, Jane Wearshing of Phoenix, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Irene Birukow, 94, of Brooksville, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at her daughter, Jean Lane's home, in Brooksville.
She was born in Saratov, Russia, and moved to this area 19 years ago from Beaver Lake, Mich. She worked for Ford Motor Company on the upholstery line. After retirement, she helped run a bait and boat rental business. She attended Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, Spring Hill, for 10 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Eugenia "Jean" Lane and Verlene Peters, both of Brooksville; three sisters, Helen Kotenko, Ann White and Lena Godoshun, all of Michigan; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Odilio A. "Olie" Rodriguez, 71, of Brooksville, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at Oak Hill Hospital.
He moved to this area nine years ago from his native Key West. He was a courier with Purolator Courier Service, Key West, where he also drove the Conch Tour Train. He was the owner of Olie's Lawn Service in Brookridge and was a member of the Brookridge Players, Ham Radio Operators Association and Withlacoochee Cycling Club.
Survivors include his wife, Paula S.; three sons, Richard of San Francisco, Calif., Chip Acheson of Coral Springs and Mark Acheson of Plantation; a daughter, Judi Angels of Davie; a sister, Martha Rodriguez of Key West; and four grandchildren.

Marie H. Carr, 96, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville.
She was born in Washington, D.C., and moved to this area 33 years ago from Broad Channel, N.Y. She volunteered at the Weeki Wachee Senior Citizens Club and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Spring Hill.
There are no known survivors.

Horace B. Randolph, 79, of Istachatta, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at Brooksville Regional Hospital.
He was born in Spring Hill, Tenn., and moved to this area 20 years ago from St. Petersburg, where he resided since 1944. He was a retired dairyman in St. Petersburg and a member of Istachatta Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Louise; six sons, Jerry, Billy, Roger and David, all of St. Petersburg, and Danny and Edward, both of Starke; three daughters, Wanda Hanson of St. Petersburg, Glenda Burke of Istachatta and Paula Cook of Sarasota; two brothers, Otha of Chapel Hill, Tenn., and Elbert of Spokane, Wash.; two sisters, Mary Minor of Columbia, Tenn., and Eva Lee Kell of Indiana; 26 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Dennis Patrick Langan, 47, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
He was born in Bronx, N.Y., and moved to this area eight years ago from Long Island, N.Y. He was a licensed funeral director and embalmer in the state of Florida. He was involved in the community theater, attended St. Petersburg College up to one year ago making the Dean's List, former president of Prime Time Singles Organization, and a member of Florida Funeral Directors Association and St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
There are no known survivors.

Lillian Marie Lynn, 76, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center, Hudson.
She was born in Chicago, Ill., and moved to this area 25 years ago from Chicago. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include her husband, Roger; a daughter, Linda Marie Grant of Atlanta, Ga.; and three grandchildren.

Elizabeth J. Castellano, 93, of Brooksville, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
She was born in South Gibson, Pa., and moved to this area 30 years ago from Reading, Pa. She was a retail clerk for the S.S. Kresge Co. with over 20 years of service and for the C.K. Whitner Department Store with several years of service. She was a 30-year member of First United Methodist Church, Brooksville.
Survivors include her niece, Genevieve Decker of Windsor, N.Y.; a grandniece, Cathy Dunlap of Windsor; a grandnephew, Gary Decker of Port Charlotte, N.Y.; several great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews; and several other family members.
