James A. Burke Jr., 77, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at his home.
He was born in Weymouth, Mass., and moved to this area 10 years ago from Pembroke, Mass. He was employed for 22 years with Plymouth Quarries. He also worked as a tax accountant and then retired from Raytheon in Massachusetts. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from the Navy Reserve after 26 years. He was a Catholic by faith and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Weymouth.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria; two sons, James and Brian, both of Spring Hill; two daughters, Sandra Feener of Spring Hill and Kathleen Spratt of Eastern, Mass.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Roland G. Higdon, 89, of Ocala, formerly of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007 in Ocala. He was born in Bunker Hill, Mich., and had moved to Spring Hill 34 years ago from Hastings, Mich.
Mr. Higdon was a retired carpenter, a life member of the Elks Club in Hastings, a member of the former Spring Hill Country Club and formed the Higdon Hackers golf group in Spring Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Ella; a daughter, Deborah Teed of Ocala; two sons, Richard Higdon of Goodrich, Mich., and Thomas Higdon of Fayetteville, N.C.; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Eugene Glenn Sr., 67, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital. He was born in New York, N.Y., and moved to this area 10 years ago from Staten Island, N.Y.
Mr. Glenn retired from the New York Police Department after serving 20 years as a police officer. He was a U.S. Army veteran and attended Church Without Walls in Tampa.
Survivors include his wife, Davina; a son, Eugene Glenn Jr. of New York, N.Y.; three daughters, Cheryise Jones of Richmond, Va., Ayanna Wilson of Bronx, N.Y., and Brittney Glenn of Tampa; three sisters, Jackqueline Crawford of Orlando, Rosemary Campbell of Yonkers, N.Y., and Diane Lawrence of Raleigh, N.C.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Robert E. Tighe Jr., 66, of Spring Hill, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital. He was born in Scranton, Pa., and moved to this area 20 years ago from Hudson.
Mr. Tighe was a lawn equipment salesman and a member of Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Diana; two sons, Robert E. Tighe III of Denville, N.J., and Shawn J. Tighe of Spring Hill; his mother, Marie Tighe of Clearwater; four sisters, Patricia Connolly and Kathleen Gaye, both of Safety Harbor, Beverly Robbins of Dover, N.J., and Louise Ambrosino of Netcong, N.J.; a brother, Paul Tighe of West Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.

Ray Benckert, 56, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007. He was born in Philadelphia.
Mr. Benckert was a retired manager in the casino industry and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a Protestant.
Survivors include his son, Ray IV; and daughters, Amy and Franie.

Ernest Velez Sr., 56, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 at his home. He was born in New York and moved to the area 10 years ago from Staten Island, N.Y.
Mr. Velez served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Roman Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Marie; sons, Earnest Jr., of Brooksville, and James Calderone, of Staten Island; daughters, Tanya Martinez, of Lakewood, N.J., and Maggie, of Las Vegas; brothers, Ernesto, Angelo, John, Dominick, Anthony, Edwin and Angel; sisters, Susan, Rosa and Gloria; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

John R. Peluso, 40, of Hernando Beach, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 at his home. He was born in Pittsburgh and moved to the area four years ago.
Mr. Peluso was the owner of a home improvement business. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hernando Beach.
Survivors include his father, William, of Pittsburgh; mother, Donna Danhir, of Hernando Beach; son, John M., of Pittsburgh; daughters, Merlea, Mia and Martina, all of Pittsburgh; and sister, Denise Peters, of Pittsburgh.

Ella Louise Randolph, 81, died Thursday, March 10, 2005 at her home in Floral City.
She moved to this area 20 years ago. She was a soft water laundry supervisor in St. Petersburg and loved to work in laundry services and sew. She was a 20-year member of Istachatta Church of Christ, where she was the attendance recorder.
Survivors include six sons, Jerry, Bill, Roger, David, Danny and Eddie Randolph; three daughters, Glenda Burke, Wanda Hansen and Paula Cook; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Hildegarde Horeis, 97, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, March 10, 2005 at her home under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice.
She was born in Wulferstedt, Germany and moved to Spring Hill nine years ago from Hopatcong, N.J. She was a retired restaurant owners and operator and was a member of Nativity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons, Alfred Horeis of New Smyrna Beach and Ernst Horeis of Spring Hill; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Alice M. Timmer, 76, of Spring Hill, died Monday, July 26, 2004, at Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center, Hudson.
She was born in Muskegon, Mich., and moved to this area seven years ago from St. Petersburg. She was a retired principal and schoolteacher for the Muskegon Public School System. She was a greeter at the Wal-Mart Supercenter on Cortez Boulevard and a Methodist by faith.
Survivors include a son, John Timmer of Muskegon; a daughter, Jennie Parisi of Spring Hill; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Carol E. Carter, 76, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Spring Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center, Spring Hill.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry and Ronald, both of Pinellas County; a daughter, Donna Berge of Belford, N.J.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Yvonne E. "Bonnie" Edwards, 78, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
She moved to this area 16 years ago from her native Hastings, Mich. She retired after 42 years with Viking Corporation. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Hastings, and was a Methodist by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Paul; and two sisters, Arola Newton of Hastings and Irma Patterer of Battle Creek, Mich.

Asa Foster Greelan, 75, of High Point, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2005 at his home. He was a native of Cambridge, N.Y., and a resident of this area for the past 12 years coming from Greenwich, N.Y.
He was a retired construction contractor, a member of High Point Golf Association in Brooksville, the Elks Lodge in Greenwich and was Methodist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; three sons, Gregory of Colorado Springs, Colo., Barry of Point Orange, Fla., Darrell of Greenwich, N.Y.; a daughter, Marcie Carmean of Palm Coast; two sisters, Gladys Thomas and Frances Gannon, both of Greenwich, N.Y.; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Rose Constance Croft, 81, of Brookridge, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2005 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville. She was a native of Chicago, and a resident of this area for the past 25 years coming from Niles, Ill. She was a retired nurse, a member of the Illinois Club and a volunteer at Oak Hill Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Herbert E. Bergstrom of Rolling Meadows, Ill. and Edward J. Bergstrom of Chicago; a daughter, Cathy Dionne of Chanhassen, Minn. and seven grandchildren.

Hazel D. Kapelke, 89, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2005 at Oak Hill Hospital. She was born in Rochester, N.Y., and came here in 1975 from that city. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Rochester and a past assistant district commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America in Florida.
She is survived be her son, Earl of Spring Hill.

Pamela D. Pickard, 62, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005, at her home.
She was born in Arcadia and moved to this area 15 years ago from Riverview. She was an X-ray technician and a member of Riverview Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Daniel Jason Pickard of Riverview; and a brother, Colin Mattson of Riverview.

Richard Michael Bucko, 53, of Brooksville, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, in Spring Hill.

He was Past Commodore of the Sagamore Yacht Club, Oyster, Bay, N.Y., Past Rear Commander of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Englewood, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, and a member of the VFW, Ocala, and American Legion Post 186, Brooksville.
