Paul A. Bowman Sr., 91, of Weeki Wachee, died Friday, April 7, 2006 at his home.
Mr. Bowman was born in Paris, Ohio and came here 23 years ago from Canton, Ohio. Mr. Bowman retired from United Food & Commercial Workers’ Union Local No. 698 in Akron, Ohio where he was supervisor of business agents and served as a delegate on many labor councils in the Ohio area. Mr. Bowman was former board chairman of the Unfunded Aripeka Library, member of the Ohio Club, Gulf Coast Conservancy, Florida Wildlife Federation, Sierra Club, World Wildlife Fund and supported the Humane Society.
Mr. Bowman is survived by his wife, Lila; a son, Paul A. Bowman, Jr. of Weeki Wachee; a daughter, Pamela Ann Crawford of Massillon, Ohio; a sister, Edna Ogle of Louisville, Ohio; and two grandchildren.

Marjorie A. Adcock, 82, of Spring Hill, died Friday, April 7, 2006 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
Ms. Adcock was born in Huntington, Ind., and came here 13 years ago from Ft. Lauderdale. Ms. Adcock was a retired supervisor with Astro Instruments in Ft. Lauderdale, a life member and past president of the Ft. Lauderdale Shrine Club Camelettes, a member of the VFW Post No. 10209 Ladies’ Auxiliary of Spring Hill, the Elks Lodge No. 2582 of Brooksville, the China-Burma-India Veterans Association, Inc., the Ladies’ Auxiliary of Kissimmee and the First Christian Church of Spring Hill.
Ms. Adcock is survived by a sister, Evelyn Bennett of Brooksville; and several nieces and nephews.

Maria L. Petrucci, 86, of Brooksville, died Thursday, April 6, 2006 at the Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center.
Ms. Petrucci was a native of Cambridge, Mass., and a resident of this area for the past 33 years coming from Hyde Park, Mass. Ms. Petrucci was a retired bronze sprayer for a bronze plating company, a member of the Red Hat Society’s Classy Scarlet Ladies Chapter, the Thursday Night Brookridge Uno Club and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Ms. Petrucci is survived by her son, Frank, of Waymouth, Mass.; two daughters, Joanne Rampino of Brooksville and Beverly Bonani of Vero Beach; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Teodor Politowicz, 79, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, March 30, 2006.
Mr. Politowicz was born in Poznan, Poland and was a retired dairy plant operator.
Mr. Politowicz is survived by three sons, Zak of Phoenix, Ariz., Walter of Spring Hill and Ronald of Port Charlotte; and four grandchildren.

Charles A. Hoffman, 64, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005 at Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center in Hudson.
He was a resident of this area for the last seven years coming from his native New Jersey. He was a master technician with the Ed Morse Auto Plaza in New Port Richey, a member of the F&AM and umpired girls softball in New Jersey. He was Methodist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Susan; four sons, Jason Hoffman of Chattanooga, Tenn., Kyle Hoffman of Dover, N.J., Peter March of Atlanta, Ga., and Nicholas March of Spring Hill; a daughter, Jennifer Ultimo of Hackettstown, N.J.; a sister, Joan Flatt of Port Richey; and five grandchildren.

Homer Leroy Owens, 69, of Floral City, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2005 at his home under the care of Hospice of Citrus County.
He was born in Ft. Pierce and moved to this area 34 years ago from St. Petersburg. He was the retired owner and operator of H&R Disposal of Floral City and a member of the Christian Fellowship Church of Brooksville.
Survivors include three sons, Andrew Gentry of Willamsburg, Va., and James L. Owens and Daniel R. Owens, both of Floral City; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Stabler of Floral City; a sister, Cherokee Lampp of Masaryktown; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Rita Marie Van Pelt, 89, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, April 9, 2006 at Oak Hill Hospital. She was born in Hoboken, N.J., and moved to Florida 24 years ago from Paramus, N.J.
Mrs. Van Pelt worked as an executive secretary for the Board of Education, Paramus, and was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley W.; four sons, Joseph Harper of Kendal, Charles Harper of Wyckoff, N.J., Dr. Wesley Van Pelt of Pennington, N.J., and Jeremy Van Pelt of Frisco, Texas; two daughters, Cathy Worth of Paramus and Rosemary Harper of Wyckoff; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Brenitta E. Montague, 89, of Brooksville, died Sunday, April 16, 2006 at Brooksville Health Care Center.
Ms. Montague was born in Geddestown, Jamaica, West Indies, and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Van Davila.

Wilma A. Thinschmidt, 88, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
She was born in Naperville, Ill., and moved her 10 years ago from Chicago Ridge, Ill. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include her son, Joseph P. McDonough of Spring Hill; and one grandchild.

Lawrence C. Auten, 85, of Brooksville, died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, at Oak Hill Hospital. He was born in Gaugetown, Mich., and moved to this area 12 years ago from Tarpon Springs.
He was a retired truck driver for Marlow Disposal Company and Powell Trucking Company. He was a bowler and dancer, and was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; three daughters, Nancy Mead, Susan Freeman, and Laura McElheny; one son, Gary Noble; one sister, Vernetta Alexander; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Theresa Sequin, 68, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Brooksville. A native of Detroit, Mich., she came to the area in 1984.
She was Jewish by faith and worked as a front desk clerk at the Weeki Wachee Holiday Inn.
Survivors include her husband, Edmund; one son, Richard Poda of Spring Hill; one step-daughter, Linda Calviro of Trenton, Mich.; two brothers, Merrill Morganroth of Ferndale, Mich., and Victor Morganroth of Warren, Mich.; and three grandchildren.

John Patrick Ward, 74, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center, Hudson.
He was born in Jersey City, N.J., and moved to this area 14 years ago from Massapequa, Long Island, N.Y. He was a restaurant owner, owning and operating The Hearthstone Restaurant in Merrick, N.Y. for over 12 years. He was a Korean War U.S. Marine veteran and a member of the American Legion and St. Theresa Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Rose M.; three sons, Kevin P. of Bayshore, N.Y., Dennis of Clinton, N.J., and John P. of Bayside, N.Y.; a daughter, Lisa DeStefano of Bath, Pa.; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Galen L. Dingman, 75, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Liverpool, N.Y., and moved to Florida 18 years ago from Fulton, N.Y. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.
Survivors include his wife, Veneita; three sons, Ronald Dingman of Texas, Galen Dingman Jr. of Mexico, N.Y., and Ricky Lee Dingman of Fulton; two stepsons, Leroy Giles of Fulton and Thomas Giles of Florida; three daughters, Rosalee Powers of Mexico, N.Y., and Yvonne Ferdette and Diane Namphere, both of Fulton; a stepdaughter, Linda Lambert of Brooksville; a brother, Harold Dingman of Brooksville; three sisters, Norma Sacco of New Port Richey, and Margaret Scott and Carol Lovejoy, both of Fulton; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Frank V. Vicchiullo, 85, of Brooksville, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to this area 18 years ago from West Islip, N.Y. He retired with 30 years of service as a technician for Royal Elevator Co. He was a self-taught mechanic and after he retired, he worked with his son at his auto parts business. He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include two sons, Dominick of Bushnell and Frank of Reno, Nev.; three brothers, Pasquale of Spring Hill, Antonio of Delray Beach and Mario of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Lucille of Balston Springs, N.Y., and Rose Marie Romeo of Brentwood, Long Island, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

George Anthony Chudoba, 71, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
He was born in Queens, N.Y., and moved to this area 13 years ago from Slidell, La. He was retired from BellSouth and previously worked for New York Telephone. He was a Korean conflict U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the Marine Corps Leagues, both of Spring Hill and Holiday, and American Legion, VFW and Coast Guard Auxiliary, all of Spring Hill. He was Hernando Tax Coordinator for AARP and was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a sister, Anne Daly of Stewart Manor, N.Y.; and four nieces.

James E. Maddox, 77, of Brooksville, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at Brooksville Regional Hospital.
He was born in Rome, Ga., and moved to this area 58 years ago from Gailsville, Ala. He was owner and operator of Maddox Landscaping in Pinellas County.
Survivors include his wife, Lola; two sons, James C. Maddox of Lake Panasoffkee and Mike Colbert of Avon Park; two daughters, Becky Colbert of Baton Rouge, La., and Sue Maddox of Tallahassee; and several grandchildren.

Helen B. Michell, 85, of Zephyrhills, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville.
She was born in Belvidere, Ill., and moved to this area 53 years ago from Belvidere. She was a cosmetologist, journalist and secretary, and attended Spring Lake United Methodist Church, Brooksville.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Hensley of St. Petersburg Beach and Michael of Brooksville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Louis Karl Ballman, 76, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He moved to this area eight years ago from his native Dayton, Ohio. He was retired from the City of Kettering, Ohio, as a housing inspector. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of John W. Durst Masonic Lodge 716 F&AM, Dayton, and was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara A.; two sons, Donald R. Ballman of Bloomfield, Conn., and Douglas P. Ballman of Beavercreek, Ohio; two brothers, Thomas Ballman of Daytona and Joseph H. Ballmann of Fairborn, Ohio; a stepbrother, Anthony Ballman of Dayton; two sisters, Betty Ann Nash of Dayton and Cordella Keller of Dayton; a stepsister, Janet Weiler of Dayton; and two grandchildren.

Charles Edward Dooley, 75, of Brooksville, died Thursday, April 20, 2006 at Oak Hill Hospital.
Mr. Dooley was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to this area 18 years ago from Islip Terrace, N.Y. Mr. Dooley was a retired sanitation engineer, a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the New York Sanitation Workers Retirees Union Share Charity Program, St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church and the church choir.
Mr. Dooley is survived by his wife, Katherine; two sons, Michael of Garden City, N.Y. and Matthew of Lake Zurich, Ill.; a daughter, Mary Katherine Lazzaro of Holbrook, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

Leslie L. O'Neill, 39, of Spring Hill, died Friday, April 21, 2006 at her home.
Ms. O'Neill was born in Riverside, N.J., and moved to this area five years ago from Delran, N.J. Ms. O'Neill was a corporate travel agent and a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church of Spring Hill.
Ms. O'Neill is survived by her mother, Kathleen J. Boehm of Weeki Wachee; her father, John S. O'Neill Sr. of Moorestown, N.J.; a brother, John S. O'Neill Jr. of Weeki Wachee; a sister, Barbara Stanton of Weeki Wachee; maternal grandfather, Walter Boehm of Weeki Wachee; paternal grandmother, Grace O'Neill of Hendersonville, N.C.; a niece; three nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Dollie B. Bearden, 90, of Gravesville, Ala., formerly of Brooksville, died Thursday, June 3, 2004.
She was born in Prattville, Ala., and moved to this area 48 years ago. She was Baptist by faith and was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Brooksville. She served for 21 years as a Senior Citizen Volunteer.
Survivors include her daughter, Christine Mosher of Gravesville, Ala.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Floyd Wayne Atkinson, 64, of Brooksville, died Friday, June 4, 2004 at Tampa General Hospital.
He was born in Barnegat, N.J. and moved to this area 35 years ago from Mt. Holly, N.J. He served with the U.S. Marines in the 2nd Battalion, Recon. He was an avid horse lover and a motorcycle enthusiast.
Survivors include his son, Floyd W. Jr. of Superior, Colo.; daughters Sharon L. Jones of Tampa and Rebecca L. Tolar of Spring Hill; brother Charles of New Jersey; sister Claire of North Carolina; and three grandchildren.

Alice F. Myers, 78, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson.
She was born in Ancon, Canal Zone in the Republic of Panama, and moved to this area 22 years ago from Panama. She was a member of the Panama Canal Society and St. Theresa Catholic Church, where she was active in its Women's Guild.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Myers of Spring Hill and Paul Myers of High Springs; two daughters, Lynn Myers of Tampa and Mary Alice Albritton of Alachua; a sister, Dora LeGrys of Mesa, Ariz.; and nine grandchildren.

Catherine Smiley Rayford, 62, of Brooksville, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at Brooksville Regional Hospital.
She was born in Sardis, Ala., and moved to this area 33 years ago from Lockport, N.Y. She was a member of Church of God by faith.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Smiley and Willie Rayford, both of Brooksville, and Mark Rayford of Tacoma, Wash.; two daughters, Linda Woods and Shirley Rayford, both of Brooksville; her mother, Ethel Bell Smiley of Selma, Ala.; three brothers, Joe Smiley of Lockport, N.B. Smiley of Cleveland, Ohio, and Willie Smiley of Selma; eight sisters, Katie Cole and Pauline Sheppard, both of Brooksville, Viola Farrow, Glovine Smiley and Ethel Thomas, all of Selma, Carolyn Springs and Lizzie Mae Davis, both of Montgomery, Ala., and Helen Stewart of Lockport; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Carmen L. Deschenes, 71, of Brooksville and Nashua, N.H., died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at her winter home in Brooksville.
She was born in Madawaska, Maine, and has been a winter resident for the past 10 years. She was a 1952 graduate of Madawaska High School. She attended St. Anthony Catholic Church, Brooksville, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Nashua.
Survivors include her husband, Reno; two sons, Joey of Litchfield, N.H., and John of Nashua; two daughters, Linda Deschenes of Nashua and Patricia Cassidy of Merrimack, N.H.; two brothers, Eldon Albert of Newington, Conn., and Gilbert Albert of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Theresa Albert of Brewer, Maine, and Kathleen Audibert of Hamden, Maine; and three grandchildren.
