William R. Rikley, 75, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He was born in Detroit, Mich., and moved to this area eight years ago from Clearwater. He was a retired mason contractor, former owner of Commercial Masonry of Clearwater, and a Lutheran by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Janet; and a daughter, Sandy Peletier of Denver, Colo.

William R. "Babe" Seguine Sr., 73, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Fords, N.J., and moved to this area 27 years ago from Farmingdale, N.J. He was a battery service technician for many years for Earle Naval Ammunition Depot, Colts Neck, N.J., a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of First Baptist Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne H.; a son, William R. Jr. of Spring Hill; a stepdaughter, Lisa Gubicza of Raleigh, N.C.; two stepsons, Craig J. Clendennen of Spring Hill and Rick Henry Clendennen of Orlando; two brothers, LeRoy of Fords and Charles of Sewaren, N.J.; and two grandchildren.

JoAnn LaDuron, 65, of Spring Hill, died Monday, April 28, 2003 at her home.
She was born in Ontario, Canada, and moved to this area 20 years ago from Sterling Heights, Mich. She was employed by Best Western of Weeki Wachee. She was a member of Christian Life Assembly of God and was a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Dallas; two sons, John of Atlanta, Ga., and Bryan of Brooksville; a daughter, Michelle Lyons of Port Richey; a sister, Donna Close of Ontario; and three grandchildren.

Betty M. Buchanan, 76, of Brooksville, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at her home.
She moved to this area five years ago from her native Tampa. She was a homemaker, a civil servant of World War II, a member of Kappa Delta Phi of Tampa, a carrier for The Tampa Tribune for many years, a volunteer for Lake Shore Villa Retirement Community and a member of First Baptist Church, Lutz.
Survivors include two sons, Gary of Tampa and Glen of Brooksville; and a daughter, Wanda of Brooksville.

Dallas Paul Easterly, 72, of Weeki Wachee, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He was born in Crossville, Tenn., and moved to this area six years ago from Athens, Tenn. He was a real estate broker in San Diego, Calif., for over 20 years, a U.S. Navy retiree who served during the Korean and Vietnam wars, and a Presbyterian by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbe; two sons, David P. of Lynnwood, Wash., and Douglas; three daughters, Connie Easterly, Doris Easterly and Eureka Easterly; a stepson, Donald LeMay of Weeki Wachee; three brothers, James of Kennisaw, Ga., S.L. of Sterling Heights, Mich., and Doyle of Crossville; a sister, Ellese Neal of Nashville, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Arthur C. "Arty" Waskey, 74, of Brooksville, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Florida 17 years ago from Bethpage, Long Island, N.Y. He was a retired truck driver, a U.S. Navy veteran, and a member of the Lions Club of Spring Hill, DAV of Brooksville, American Legion in New York, and WHACS (West Hernando Athletic Club Seniors).
Survivors include his partner, Marilyn Frasch of Brooksville; a son, Artie Waskey of Spring Hill; three daughters, Ginny Eisenstein of Gilbert, Ariz., Sue Rein of Canton, Ga., and Eileen Prince of North Babylon, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Leon S. Horner, 75, of Brooksville, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004 at Oak Hill Hospital.
He moved to this area 39 years ago from his native Momouth, N.J. He was a truck driver.
Survivors include his companion, Dolores Weaver of Brooksville; sons Robert, Jimmy, Sammy, and John Horner; daughters Anna Reynolds and Barbara and Donna Horner.

Antonio Franzone, 83, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004 at Hernando Pasco Hospice Center.
A native of East Greenwich, R.I., he moved to this area 19 years ago. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, the Italian-American Club, and retired from Ferrington Chemicals.
Survivors include two brothers, Frank of Spring Hill and Matthew of West Warwick, R.I.; nephew Frank; niece Anna Blade; and great-niece Melanie.

Alex Nikora, Jr., 65, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004 at his home.
He was born in Detroit, Mich. and just moved to the Spring Hill area permanently after visiting our area for the past five years. He was a retired police officer and a member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed traveling around the country in his motor home.
Survivors include his wife Julia of Spring Hill; sons, Alex III and Joseph David both of Columbiaville, Mich.; daughters, Joan Joyce Labelle of Millingtown, Mich. and Tina Marie Byas of Dunlap, Tenn.; father, Alex, Sr. of Holly, Mich.; brother, Robert James of San Jose, Calif.; aunt, Ann Selberg of Gambier, Ohio; six grandchildren; and numerous friends.

Doris Mae Roppoccio, 75, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004 at the Hernando Pasco Hospice Care Unit in Brooksville.
She was born in Peekskill, N.Y. and moved to this area 12 yearrs ago from Verplanck, N.Y. She was a former Barbazon Model of N.Y. and was an avid rollerskater in Peekskill, N.Y.
Survivors include her husband Dominick C. of Spring Hill; three sons, Dominick Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif., Ronald Allen of Marion, N.C., and George of Buchanan, N.Y.; two daughters, Linda Lee Camuto of Staten Island, N.Y. and Donna Marie Baisly of Dunedin, Fla.; two sisters, Ethel Miozzi and Joan Ross, both of Santa Barbara, Calif.; three brothers, Charles Puscy and Robert Puscy both of Peekskill, N.Y. and George Puscy of Croton On Hudson, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Edna Mae Saunders Goff, 85, of Brooksville, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004 at her home.
She was born in Key West and moved to this area 40 years ago from Seffner.
Survivors include two daughters, Georgian Daugherty of Webster and Deborah Hogan of Bushnell; four sons, Doug Goff of Brandon, Gene Goff of Seffner, and Forrest and Mark Goff both of Brooksville; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Dixie M. Archibald, 76, of Trenton, Fla., formerly of Brooksville, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at the Tri-County Nursing Home, Trenton.
She was born in Van, W.Va., and moved to this area 45 years ago from Dayton, Ohio. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her son, Terry L. Whalen of Clearwater; three sisters, Esta Bleile of Ohio, Vallie Nelson of West Virginia and Dorothy Conley of Indiana; a brother, Carl Lewis of Arizona; and two grandchildren.

Arline DeVries, 79, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at Oak Hill Hospital.
She was born in Brooklyn, Conn., and moved to this area nine years ago from Danielson, Conn. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Ray; a son, Randall of Largo; and a daughter, Beverly Cristina of Danielson.

Richard J. Monfette, 69, of Cloverleaf, Brooksville, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
He was born in Holyoke, Mass., and moved to this area three years ago from Holyoke. He was a forklift operator for 21 years with Rexham Graphics, Massachusetts, a past member of Knights of Columbus Council 4044, Chicopee, Mass., and attended St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Survivors include his fiancée, Grace A. Burbee of Brooksville; two sons, Louis of West Springfield, Mass., and Richard M. of Spring Hill; a daughter, Diane Belair of Chicopee; two brothers, Freddy of Chesterfield, Mass., and Morris of South Hadley, Mass.; four sisters, Katherine Clichee of Chicopee, Louanne Brown of Westfield, Mass., Linda Bonfiglio of Hamden, Mass., and Doris Cook of South Carolina; and six grandchildren.

John A. Rentz, 91, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, May 22, 2003 at his home.
He was born in Denver, Colo., and moved to this area 31 years ago from Chicago, Ill. He was a retired executive with the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company and the inventor of frozen baked goods. He was a well-known cake decorator and often baked cakes for President F.D. Roosevelt. He was the author of "The Death of Grandma." He was past transportation manager for the Hernando Egg Company, Masaryktown, an active member and executive of the Lions Club of Spring Hill, and was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann; a son, Robert J. of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; two daughters, Dorene M. Rentz of Natick, Mass., and Sherry Blair of Uniontown, Ohio; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Carl Paul Oppermann, 85, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville.
He was born in Bronx, N.Y., and moved to this area 25 years ago from New Jersey. He retired as a textile factory manager in New Jersey and worked for the Hernando County Sheriff's Office in administration for many years. He was a member of the Elks Club and the VFW in New Jersey, and attended St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne; three sons, Charles of Woodinville, Wash., Carl Jr. of Hackensack, N.J., and Robert of Anderson, S.C.; two daughters, Lois White of Fort Lee, N.J., and Marilyn of Harlum, N.J.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Francis E. West, 86, of Brooksville, died Monday, May 19, 2003 at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness.
He was born in Youngstown, Ohio, and moved to this area 30 years ago from Buffalo, N.Y. He was a retired foundry foreman for Shenango, Inc., Sharpsville, Pa., and attended St. Anthony Catholic Church, Brooksville.
Survivors include his wife, Betty J.; three daughters, Joann Burke and Doris May Bottenfield, both of Sharon, Pa., and Diane Martin of Hermitage, Pa.; two stepdaughters, Kathleen Schick of Spring Hill and Ann Marie Jaman of Brooksville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

June A. Fortiguerra, 50, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville.
She was born in Providence, R.I., and moved to this area 21 years ago from Warwick, R.I. She earned her master's degree in nursing and was a retired Registered Nurse and handled case management for Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson. She also taught nursing at Pasco-Hernando Community College.
Survivors include her father, Angelo of Spring Hill; a brother, John of Biddeford, Maine; a sister, Janis Confreda of Warwick; several nieces; and a nephew.

Catherine "Kitty" Cooper, 91, of Brooksville, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at Heartland of Brooksville.
She was born in Wall, Pa., and moved to this area 11 years ago from Daytona Beach. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include her niece and caregiver, Mary Lou Cypher; five additional nieces; and a nephew.

George J. Kebles Jr., 62, of Spring Hill, died Monday, May 19, 2003 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville.
He was born in Wilkes Barre, Pa., and moved to this area three years ago from Larksville, Pa. He retired as a telecommunications engineer. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and was on St. Vincent de Paul Council 11901. He was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Judi; a son, G.J. Kebles of Dallas, Pa.; three daughters, Marikay Morel of Spring Hill, Pam Rowlands of Larksville and Anna D'Amico of Havertown, Pa.; two brothers, John of Shavertown, Pa., and Dan of Hamlin, W.Va.; and four grandchildren.

He was born in Van Wert, Ohio, and moved to this area 44 years ago from Van Wert. He worked for the U.S. Post Office in the Orlando area. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include two sons, Barry W. of Windermere, Fla., and Jon R. of Astatula, Fla.; two daughters, Connie Hansen of Hilliard, Fla., and Betty L. Loflin of Lexington, N.C.; a sister, Marguerite Adams of Middle Point, Ohio; 21 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and moved to this area 27 years ago from New Jersey. She worked as a real estate salesperson and was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Joanne Rossi of Spring Hill; a son, Joseph James McCall of Spring Hill; and a grandchild.

Jamie Ellen Wein, 39, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, May 17, 2003 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.

Survivors include her parents, Shirley and Robert Matloff of Spring Hill; a son, Michael Lewis Wein of Spring Hill; a daughter, Ashley Marie Dorsey of Miami; two sisters, Risa Schiff of Coral Springs and Irene of Spring Hill; and a brother, David of Miami.

Russell C. Smith, 82, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002 at Hernando Hospice Care Center. Born in Cranberry Lake, N.Y., he was visiting family in the Spring Hill area. He was a retired carpenter for the U.S. government at the Seneca Army Depot; a U.S. Army veteran of World War II; a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3320, the Moose Lodge #1753, the VFW Post #4423, all of Okeechobee. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #463, Ovid, N.Y., the South Seneca Sportsman's Club and the Interlaken Sportsman's Club, both of New York. He is survived by two sons, Jeffrey of Spring Hill and Russell G. of Ovid, N.Y.; two daughters, Sandra Meszaros of Romulus, N.Y. and Rebecca Benjamin of Ithaca, N.Y.; a sister, Helen Goodall of Tarzana, Calif.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mildred V. Parker, 90, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002 at the Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Brooksville. Born in Detroit, Mich., she moved to this area 23 years ago from Miami Springs. She was a homemaker and a member of Spring Hill United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, Joseph M. Jr. of Key Largo; three daughters, Marion L. Sams of Scottsville, Va., Joeann Thornburg of Livonia, Mich., and Virginia L. Butts of Pembroke Pines; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
