Anna Spenner, 92, died Tuesday, March 30, 2004.
She was born in South Bend, Ind. She moved to Manatee County eight years ago from Michigan. She was a custodian for the school department.
One son and three daughters survive her.
Ellenton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Thelma Florence Alford, Manatee County
Thelma Florence Alford, 78, died Thursday, April 1, 2004.
She was born September 8, 1925, to Thomas and Eunice Alford in Mississippi. She moved to Manatee County in 1928 from Mississippi. She was a schoolteacher at Palmetto High School.
Her niece, Pamela Kiernan; her two great nephews; and her caretaker, Tina Lauderdale, survive her.
Interment will be at Mansion Memorial Park. Ellenton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mildred Elizabeth Malanson, Bradenton
Mildred Elizabeth Malanson, 82, of Bradenton, died March 30, 2004.
She is survived by her husband, Francis W. Sr.; son, Robin, who is in the military, stationed in Mississippi; and brother, Robert Savage of New Jersey.

Lois Richelieu Groves, Bradenton
Lois Richelieu Groves, 75, of Bradenton, died March 31, 2004.
Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rector's discretionary account, Christ Episcopal Church, 4030 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton, Fla. 34205.
She was a retired teacher from Manatee County, after 30 years, and taught at Samoset Elementary School for 20 years. She was a member of Daughters of the King at Christ Episcopal Church and Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include daughters, Melinda Moore and Marilyn Kresal; sister, Margaret Ferguson; brother, Charles H. Richelieu; and three grandchildren.
Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Bradenton Chapel, in charge.

Andrew Phillip, Schoenfeld, Sarasota, (Manatee County)
Andrew Phillip Schoenfeld, 77, of Sarasota (Manatee County), died March 29, 2004.
There will be no services.
Survived by wife, Shirley; sons, Fritz Andrew Schoenfeld and Russell Gordon Schoenfeld; daughter, Lindsey Nadine Scymanski; and three grandchildren.
Brown & Sons Funeral Homes, 26th Street Chapel, in charge.

Doris Merle Buckland, Bradenton
Doris Merle Buckland, of Bradenton, formerly of Flint, Mich., passed away March 30, 2004.
Doris was born in Sault St. Marie on October 19, 1922. She married Victor J. Buckland December 24, 1940, in McMillan, Mich. He preceded her in death January 1, 1995. Doris was an avid traveler, traveling around the world numerous times. Her travels had taken her on over 30 cruises alone.
She is survived by daughters, Vicky J. (Bill) Cox of Clio, Mich., Sherry (William) Cornish of Bradenton; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She will be greatly missed by all.
Memorial services will be announced by family. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida.

Florence J. Barton, Bradenton
Florence J. Barton, 76, of Bradenton, died April 1, 2004.
Survivors include sons, Michael Barton of Eustis, Fla., and Bruce Barton of Maguire A.F.B., N.J.; daughters, Virginia Scott and Valerie Barton, both of Bradenton; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Griffith Cline Funeral Home, Manasota Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

Ferdinand "Dutch" Damstra, Bradenton
Ferdinand "Dutch" Damstra, 76, Bradenton, formerly of Grand Rapids, Mich., died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at Hospice House in Sarasota.
Born January 26, 1928, in Grand Rapids, he moved to Florida in 1983. He was in the Navy in WWII and was a member of V.F.W. Post 10141, American Legion Post 24 and Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a retired mason contractor.
He is survived by his wife, Mary K. (Mitzi); his son, Thomas (Linda); daughters, Ruth (Gary) Peters, Marlene (Byron) Brink and Susan Sipple; stepson, John Scott (Michiko) Carter; two brothers, two sisters, 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held April 9 in Grand Rapids. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hospice of S.W. Florida or V.F.W. Post 10141, Bradenton, Fla. A memorial service will be held at the Palma Sola V.F.W. Post 10141, 420 67th St. W., Bradenton, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2004.

Tremaine Denise Mays, 19, died March 24, 2004, Palmetto, Fla.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday April 2, at Faith Temple Church of God In Christ, 1803 18th St Ct. E., Palmetto. Service will be Saturday, April 3, 2004, 11 a.m. at St. John First Baptist Institutional Church, 1108 29th St E., Palmetto.

Berthe C. Ouellet, Cape Coral
Berthe C. Ouellet, 101, of Cape Coral, Fla., formerly of Bradenton, died March 31, 2004.
Visitation will be 12-1 p.m., with services to follow at 1 p.m., Friday, April 2 at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes, 26th Street Chapel, 5624 26th St. W., Bradenton. Burial will be in Palmetto, Fla.

Philip G. Cole, Holmes Beach
Philip G. Cole, 83, of Holmes Beach, died March 31, 2004.
A private family gathering will be held in Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada in August. Memorial donations may go to Dolphin & Whale Hospital, Mote Marine Laboratories, c/o Dr. Charles Menuire, 1600 Ken Thompson Pkwy., Sarasota, Fla. 34236.

Walter G. Stanton Jr., Bradenton
Walter G. Stanton Jr. of Bradenton, died March 31, 2004.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 3, 3 p.m. at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Mansion Chapel.
Survivors include daughters Randi Thornton, Gina Van Dyck, Kathy Lee and Jayne Lupson; brother, William Stanton; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Betty Mae Bates, Bradenton
Betty Mae Bates, 78, Bradenton, died March 29, 2004.
Born in Milton, Pa., she moved to Bradenton in 1989 from Lansdale, Pa.
Survivors: husband, John; daughter, Bonnie Kischer; sons, John, Garry, Barry and David; sister, Patricia Harwick; and 11 grandchildren.
