John D. Zerr, Bradenton
John D. Zerr, 81, of Bradenton, died Dec. 14, 2002, at home.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3200 Manatee Ave. National Cremation Society, Sarasota Chapter, is in charge of cremation arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 3200 Manatee Ave. Bradenton, Fla. 34209, or Rubonia Day Care Center, 712 Palmview Road, Palmetto, Fla. 34221.
Born in Liberty, Ind., Mr. Zerr came to Manatee County from Rising Sun, Ind., in 1979. He was a retired extension agent for Purdue University for 32 years. He was a member of the American Legion and Elks Lodge. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Martha; two daughters, Joyce Hadley of Brownsburg, Ind., and Elaine Peyton of Sullivan, Ind.; a son, Bruce, of Gainesville; two sisters, Irma Fath of Bradenton, and Minnie Purdy of Fort Ogden; a brother, Robert, of Jean, Nev.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Verla E. Patterson, Bradenton
Verla E. Patterson, 80, of Bradenton, died Dec. 12, 2002, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Brown and Sons Funeral Homes, 5624 26th St. W., Bradenton. A vigil service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, 833 Magellan Drive, Sarasota. Burial will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Memorial contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.
Born in Chicago, Mrs. Patterson came to Manatee County from Palos Hills, Ill., in 1984. She attended Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church.
Survivors include her two daughters, Jean Chilson of Woodridge, Ill., and Carol Miller of Dale City, Va.; three sons, Patrick of Cobden, Ill., William, of Argenta, Ill., and James of DesPlanes, Ill.; a brother, Robert Wolfe of Akeny, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Frederick C. Thomas, Bradenton
Frederick C. Thomas, 90, of Bradenton, died Dec. 12, 2002, in Blake Medical Center.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Wisconsin. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, South Chapel, is in charge of local arrangements. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Madison, Wis. Memorial contributions may be made to the The Salvation Army, 1204 14th St. W., Bradenton, Fla. 34205.
Born in Linden, Wis., Mr. Thomas came to Manatee County from Madison 26 years ago. He was the manager of Kayser-Ford Leasing Company in Madison. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison. He was past president of the Madison Exchange Club, past member of The Salvation Army Advisory Board in Madison, a member of the Masonic Lodge in Madison, a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Madison, a member of the Zor Shrine Temple of Madison, and a life member of the Elks Lodge No. 1511 in Bradenton.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine; three daughters, Susan Straus of Madison, Nancy Olson of Tightwad, Mo., and Betsy Carlson of Sauk City, Wis.; a sister, Betsy DeMerit of Wisconsin Dells, Wis.; a stepdaughter; two stepsons; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Paul V. Willetts, Bradenton
Paul V. Willetts, 67, of Bradenton, died Dec. 7, 2002, at Manatee Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service is at 11 a.m. Friday at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 7461 Prospect Road, Sarasota. Griffith-Cline Funeral Home Manasota Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Inurnment will be at Manasota Memorial Park in Bradenton.

Florence Bentley, Bradenton
Florence Bentley died Dec. 10, 2002.
A memorial service is at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Landings at Freedom Village in Bradenton. National Cremation Society, Sarasota Chapter, is in charge of cremation arrangements.

Debra Frosch Hornikel, Longboat Key
Debra Frosch Hornikel, 48, Longboat Key, died Nov. 26, 2002, at home.
A memorial service was earlier this month at St. John's United Methodist Church in Sarasota. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Fla. 34238. Palms Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. Hornikel lived in Manatee County for most of her life. She worked at Bank of America. She was a 4-H leader in Sarasota. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church of Sarasota.
Survivors include a daughter, Crystal, of Sarasota; two sisters, Donna Klang of Riverview, and Gloria Green of Bradenton; and a brother Larry Frosch of Lakes Wales.

Bazil Futch, Ellenton
Bazil Futch, 70, of Ellenton, died Dec. 13, 2002, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bradenton.
Visitation is from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Mansion Chapel, 1400 36th Ave. E., Ellenton. Services will immeadiately follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Bud Gillette of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at Mansion Memorial Park in Ellenton.
Born in Willacoochee, Ga., Mr. Futch came to Manatee County from there in 1937. He was the owner of Plantation Flower Patch. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Palmetto. He was a member of National Florists Association. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie M. Brewer of Bradenton; and a son, William L., of Bradenton; and a sister, Virginia C. Sawdy of Ellenton; and a granddaughter.

Ronald A. Johnson, Bradenton
Ronald A. Johnson, 56, of Bradenton, died Dec. 13, 2002, at Blake Medical Center.
A memorial service is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Manasota Chapel, 1221 53rd Ave. E., Bradenton., with the Rev. John P. Marlow of Bradenton Gospel Tabernacle officiating. Inurnment will be in Punta Gorda at a later date.
Born in Jefferson, Wis., Mr. Johnson came to Manatee County in 1970. He worked as night maintenance at Cracker Barrel of Bradenton. He was a member of Bradenton Gospel Tabernacle.
Survivors include his wife, Diana; a stepdaughter, Tammy Taylor of Bradenton; three stepsons, Andrew Fox of Elizabethtown, Colo., and Daniel Fox and James Adam Cowsert, both of Bradenton; a sister, Lorraine Jozefczyk of Milwaukee; and a brother, Jerry, of Palm Harbor.

Born in Chicago, Mrs. Muehlschlegel spent her winters in Bradenton.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Pergande of Kenosha, Wis., and Joan Webnar of Bradenton; two sisters, Elizabeth Wersching of Hoffman Estates, and Marion Soderlund of Wausau, Wis.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Dr. Peter J. Pasquariello, Bradenton
Dr. Peter J. Pasquariello, 81, of Bradenton, died Dec. 13, 2002, at home.
There will be no local services. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa, N.J. Griffith-Cline Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, 833 Magellan Dr., Sarasota, Fla. 34243.
Born in Paterson, N.J., Dr. Pasquariello came to Manatee County from Carrolton, Va., more than 7 years ago. He retired as a pediatrician. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church. He was a captain and doctor in the U.S. Army and served during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen E.; three sons, John C., of Bradenton, Peter J., of Peekskill, N.Y., and David, of Smyrna, Ga.; a brother, Dr. Roland, of Ridgewood, N.J.; and four grandchildren.

William Coy Peterson, Parrish
William Coy Peterson, 78, of Parrish, died Dec. 14, 2002, at Kindred Hospital in St. Petersburg.
Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Ellenton Funeral Home, 3411 U.S. 301, Ellenton. A memorial service is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Dry Prairie Baptist Church, 40849 State Road 62, Duette, with the Rev. Paul Dixon, assisted by the Rev. Larry Pritchert. Burial will follow at Fellowship Cemetery in Wimauma. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of Dry Prairie Baptist Church, 40849 State Road 62, Duette, Fla. 33834 or to the charity of one's choice.
Born in Bushnell, Mr. Peterson lived in Manatee County most of his life. He was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of Dry Prairie Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Carlton; a daughter, Kathy Ann Allen of Sarasota; two sons, Ira Coy, of Parrish, and James Parley, of Madison, Ga.; three sisters, Vivian Rawls of Parrish, Didemma Vickers of Bradenton, and Lois Mae Brewer of Hazelhurst, Ga.; two brothers, James Mitchell, of Parrish, and Henry Chewning of Bradenton; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Doris Enfinger Rose, Athens, Ga., and Bradenton
Doris Enfinger Rose, 88, of Athens, Ga., and Bradenton, died Dec. 14, 2002, at St. Mary's Long Term Care Facility in Athens.
A memorial service will be at a later date at her family home in Ozark, Ala. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Long Term Care Facility, 139 Alps Road, Athens, Ga., 30606; or to St. Mary's Hospice, P.O. Box 6588 Athens, Ga., 30604. Bridges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Ozark, Ala., Mrs. Rose lived in Philadelphia and Bradenton until 1997 when she moved to Athens.
Survivors include, a son, Richard M. II; a daughter, Susan Shanely; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
