Neasey Alexandra Foley
Neasey Alexandra Foley, infant daughter of Joseph M. and Stacie Foley, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001 at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce.
Preceded in death by her uncle, Billy DeWayne Foley.
Survivors include: her parents, Joseph M. Foley and Stacie L. Foley of N.C.; maternal grandparents, Charles and Judy Lawhon of Lakeport; maternal great grandmothers, Laurie Smith and Dorothy Lawhon; paternal grandmother, Sandy Smith of Okeechobee; paternal great grandmother, Mary Griffin of Auburn, Ala.; uncle and aunt, Robert and Mellisa Smith of Okeechobee; aunt, Kristina Kellogg of Lakeport; niece, Kayla Smith of Okeechobee; and nephew, Billy James "B.J." Foley of Okeechobee.
Private family grave side services and interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

Stewart ‘Stew' Shipman Fritts
Stewart ‘Stew' Shipman Fritts, of Okeechobee, formerly of Houston, Texas, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001. Born May 26, 1911, in Phillipsburg, N.J., he was married to the former Jesse ‘Pratt" Fritts and brother of Leroy H. Fritts, deceased, and Elizabeth Hill Walters, deceased, all descendants of the Frederick Fritts pioneer family of Spruce Run, N.J.
Fritts graduated from Newark College of Engineering, now NJIT, as a civil engineer and as general superintendent and professional engineer employed by Lone Star Industries. His duties included research, establishment and implementation of modern cement-mill locations across the U.S. and South America.
Fritts served in the Army Air Corps during W.W.II and was a member of the Masonic Phillipsburg Lodge No. 52 F&AM. A member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Phillipsburg, N.J. and Lazybrook Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, he especially remembered with great fondness the Adult Sunday School Class there.
Survivors include: his beloved sister-in-law Doris Ann Fritts; three nieces Doris Ann Timmeney, Elizabeth Ann Deal and Catherine Hill Long; nephew John Stewart Fritts; great-nephews, Ted Steckel, Kevin Steckel and Michael Fritts; great-nieces, Melissa Fritts, Cynthia Rader and Diane Zellner; and, three great-great-nephews, Connor, Ian and Aiden Steckel.
In lieu of flowers donations welcomed by Hospice of Okeechobee, P.O. Box 1548, Okeechobee, Fla. 34973.
There will be no services.
All arrangements are entrusted under the direction and care of the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Anna Belle Hacker
Anna Belle Hacker, age 87, of Felds formerly of LaBelle, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee. Ms. Hacker was born on March 14, 1913, in LaBelle.
Survivors include: daughter: Betty J. Johnson of Felda; sister Elizabeth Lanzl of Las Vegas, Nev.; brother Robert L. Prescott of Felda; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and, nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services to be held on Friday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m. at the International Christian Fellowship Church in LaBelle.
Visitation is Thursday, Feb. 1, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Bass Funeral Home in Okeechobee.
Burial is at the Ortona Cemetery in Ortona.
All arrangements are entrusted under the direction and care of the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Shirley June Boger
Shirley June Boger, age 78, of Okeechobee, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, in Okeechobee. Born June 3, 1922, in Alma, Mich., Mrs. Boger had been a resident of Okeechobee for 12 years having formerly resided in Winter Haven.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Boger.
Survivors include: one son, Scott M. Beltinck (Julie) of Polk City; four daughters, Karen K. Torres (Raul) of Fillmore, Calif.,Patricia A. Harrington (Charles) of Greenville, Mich., Janet M. Beltnick of Port St. Lucie, and Marion E. Harris (Kim) of Aiken, S.C. ; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gilbert Goodwin of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Donald Goodwin (Marjorie) of Prudenville, Mich.
A Gathering of Friends will be held in the screen room at Riverbend Mobile Home Park, 1307 S. Parrott Ave.,in Okeechobee, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 2.
All arrangements are under the direction and care of the Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory.

Dana Mae Hargrove
Dana Mae Hargrove, age 97, of Okeechobee, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at the Okeechobee Health Care Facility. Born Sept. 29, 1903, in Pulaski, Tenn., Ms. Hargrove had came to Okeechobee from West Palm Beach in 1983. She was a housewife by occupation.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Hargrove and son Carvell Dean Hargrove.
Survivors include: one daughter, Frankie Russell Edwards of Okeechobee; one brother , C.L. Hargrove of Pulaski, Tenn.; one sister, Annie Caplay of Lynnville, Tenn.; three grandsons and their wives, Terry and Karen Russell, Tim and Michelle Russell and Tony and Vickey Russell all of Okeechobee; three granddaughters and their husbands, Carolyn and Joe Brock of Sebring, Jody and Eddie Harmon of Fellsmere and Kim and Bill Oberst of Panama City; 15 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Friday, Jan. 26, at 2 p.m. at the Okeechobee Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Lindell Selvey officiating. Interment was followed at Evergreen Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Michael 'Mudflap' William Moody
Michael William Moody, age 36, of Okeechobee, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce. Born Nov. 30, 1964, in Quincy, Ill., Mr. Moody came to Okeechobee in 1967 from Quincy, Ill., and had owned his own trucking business.
Survivors include: his mother, Nancy Dunn and husband, Jim of Yee Haw Junction; two daughters, Audra Moody of Okeechobee and Deidra Danley of Yee Haw Junction; one son, Travis Moody of Okeechobee; two brothers, Curtis Strahlman and Frankie Dunn both of Yee Haw Junction; four sisters, Kim Price and Michelle Harris both of Okeechobee, Regina Dunn and Rhonda Jaeger both of Yee Haw Junction; and, also a loving companion, Debra.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 30, from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Bass Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. at the Yeehaw Junction Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be at the Kenansville Cemetery in Kenansville.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Mote Mitchell
Mote Mitchell, age 40, of Okeechobee, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at Raulerson Hospital.
Mr. Mitchell was born on Feb. 23, 1962, in Thibedaux, La., the son of Andrew Mitchell, Sr. and Theresa (Spott) Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell was self-employed as an auto mechanic.
His sister, Mary Smith of Raceland, La., survives him.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, from 9 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m., at the Old Fountain Baptist Church in Raceland, La. Interment will be in Old Fountain Baptist Church Cemetery, Raceland, La.
All local arrangements are entrusted to the loving care of the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Maria Carmen Hernandez
Maria Carmen Hernandez, age 66, of Okeechobee, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Florida Hospital in Orlando.
Mrs. Hernandez was born on May 10, 1936, in Guanajuato, Mexico, the daughter of Candito Rodriguez and Martha (Mora) Rodriguez. Mrs. Hernandez was a homemaker by trade and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Hernandez.
Survivors include: six sons, Jose, Marcelino, Manuel, Regugio, Antonio and Jesus Hernandez, all of Okeechobee; four daughters, Juana Hernandez of Mexico, Reyna Hernandez of Arizona, Anita Hernandez of Snowhill, N.C. and Josefina Vega of Okeechobee; 39 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren also survive her.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, from 5 until 7 p.m., at the Bass Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at 10 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Ben Calip, officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
All arrangements are entrusted to the loving care of the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Rebecca G. Baladez
Rebecca G. Baladez, age 64, of Okeechobee, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Raulerson Hospital.
Mrs. Baladez was born on July 24, 1938, in Pharr, Texas, the daughter of Joe and Margarita (Pena) Garcia. Mrs. Baladez was a homemaker by trade and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include: her loving husband, David Baladez of Okeechobee; two sons, David Baladez, Jr. of Okeechobee and Danny Baladez of Boca Raton; two daughters, Reyes McCann of Okeechobee and Becky Fluty of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Joe Garcia and John Garcia, both of Margate; one sister, Delores Acuedo of Deerfield Beach; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren also survive her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, from 9 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Hugh Duffy, officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
All arrangements are entrusted to the loving care of the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

James M. Sheppard
James M. Sheppard, age 75, of Okeechobee, died Dec. 23, 2002, at his residence.
Mr. Sheppard was born on Oct. 26, 1927.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at 11 a.m., graveside, at Evergreen Cemetery.
All arrangements are entrusted to the loving care of the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

James E. Kelley
James E. Kelley, age 78, of Buckhead Ridge, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at Raulerson Hospital. Born July 26, 1922, in Indianapolis, Ind., Mr. Kelley was a winter visitor in Florida. He was a pipe fitter by occupation and a member of the Peace Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Juanita Kelley of Unionville, Ind.; three sons, Mike Kelley of Fort Wayne, Ind., Dennis Kelley of Knoxville, Tenn. and David Kelley of Los Angeles, Calif.; two step daughters, Karan Pinsonneault of Williams Port, Pa. and Sherry Crider of Columbus, Ind.; and, seven grandchildren.
Memorial service will be Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 4 p.m. at the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home with Rev. Pastor Richard Postell, of Buckhead Ridge Baptist Church, officiating.
Mr. Kelley will be cremated.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Survivors include: his son, Gerald Bayless of Bell; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and, three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m. at the Bass Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
