ROGER K. GODWIN, 62, S.W. 45 Circle, Ocala, died Monday, May 22. Mr. Godwin was retired from Lockheed Martin. Born in Pelham, Ga., he moved to Central Florida in 1947. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Orlando. He was an Air Force veteran. Survivors: wife, Sandra; mother, Mayo, Clermont; son, Greg, Orlando; daughter, Tami Muller, Orlando; two grandchildren. Family Funeral Care-Hunter's Creek, Orlando.

MARGARET N. GOODBREAD, 94, Rivercrest Lane, Longwood, died Tuesday, May 23. Mrs. Goodbread was a homemaker. Born in New York, she moved to Central Florida in 1996. She was Roman Catholic. ALICE FLETCHER GRISSOM, 85, Sue Drive, Kissimmee, died Tuesday, May 23. Mrs. Grissom was a retired sixth-grade schoolteacher with Osceola County public schools, and she was a citrus grower. Born in Andalusia, Ala., she moved to Central Florida in 1936. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Kissimmee. She was a former member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, Kissimmee. Survivors: daughter, Linda, Kissimmee; son, Rick, Kissimmee; three grandchildren. Grissom Funeral Home and Crematory, Kissimmee.

JAMES SAMUEL HAMMOND, 73, Kirk Street, Orlando, died Monday, May 22. Mr. Hammond was a retired sales engineer. Born in North Carolina, he moved to Central Florida in 1957. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Survivors: son, J.S. Jr., North Carolina; daughter, Cynthia, Palm Harbor; mother, Ethel, North Carolina. BONITA DAWN KIRKLAND, 59, Kings Road, Eustis, died Saturday, May 20, of cancer. Mrs. Kirkland was a former buyer for Jordan Marsh, Miami, and a former merchandise manager for Ivey's Department Store, Melbourne. Born in Green Oak, Pa., she moved to Central Florida in 1980. She was Presbyterian. Survivors: husband, Perry A.; sons, S. Gary Stern II, Satellite Beach, Blaine B. Stern, Denver; sister, Constance A. St. John, Satellite Beach. JOSEPH "JERRY" KOWALSKI, 70, Hoffner Avenue, Orlando, died Tuesday, May 23. Mr. Kowalski was a psychiatric social worker. Born in Nanticoke, Pa., he moved to Central Florida in 1962. LAWRENCE JOSEPH LAFONTAINE, 77, Village Lane, Winter Park, died Sunday, May 21. Mr. LaFontaine was an office manager. Born in Rouse's Point, N.Y., he moved to Central Florida in 1955. RUTH E. LAYNE, 91, Oakhill Lane, Mount Dora, died Wednesday, May 24. Miss Layne was a retired social worker for the Jackson, Mich., public school system. Born in Cincinnati, she moved to Mount Dora from Zellwood in 1999. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mount Dora. She was a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Survivors: four nieces; two nephews. Allen J. Harden Funeral Home, Mount Dora.

ALICE DOROTHY LONERGAN, 77, Sea Mist Drive, New Smyrna Beach, died Monday, May 22. Mrs. Lonergan was a homemaker. Born in New York City, she moved to Central Florida in 1994. She was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors: daughters, Patricia Campbell, Tucson, Ariz., Alicia DeLong, Sciota, Pa.; sister, Audrey Bradley, Fort Lauderdale; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
