John Ray Penticoff
John Ray Penticoff of Dade City, Fl passed away Friday, June 13, 2008 at Hernando Pasco Hospice after a severe illness. He was born March 7, 1957 in Brockton, MA to Loraine C. and John Penticoff. He attended schools in Bridgewater, MA and graduated from Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School and then went to Rhode Island Technical College. He moved to Dade City, Fl in 1982 and worked at various jobs in Dade City including Dade City Glass Co. Before his passing he was employed by K&K Glass of Zephyrhills, Fl. His interests included hunting, fishing, photography and computers. Above all, he loved his family. His family was his life. Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer and grandson, Donovan Penticoff of Dade City; mother, Loraine Penticoff and her husband, Alan Pray; 1 sister, Terri Ellis and husband, Randy of Bridgewater, MA; 2 brothers, William Chipman and wife, Judy and Dale Chipman of Chiefland, FL; 3 nieces, Lisa Crowley, Jessica Reynolds, Katie Andrade; 1 nephew, Ross Chipman; 1 great niece and 2 great nephews. He will be especially missed by a longtime friend, Michelle Danella and her daughter, Cheyenne. Visitation will be from 6-8 Monday, June 16, 2008 at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 11441 US Hwy 301 Dade City, Fl. Funeral Services will be at Bragdon –Kelley Funeral Home. His internment will be in Harrington, Maine.

Olivia Alma King
Olivia Alma King, age 96 passed away on June 13, 2008 at the Royal Oak Nursing Center in Dade City, FL. Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Edward King and her son Lawrence Michael King. She is survived by her daughter, Jane A. Hollister and husband Bob; grandchildren Robert G. Hollister Jr. and wife Stacey, Shaun Alan Hollister, Tracie King, Kelley King; great grandchildren Cody Hollister, David Hollister, Kayla Fowler; and daughter-in-law Patty King. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 18th from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the " Wish List" at the Royal Oak Nursing Center.

Brenda Jean Vest
VEST, Brenda Jean, 43, of Seffner, Fla., passed away Saturday, June 14, 2008, knowing that Jesus was beside her. She was preceded in death by her father, Ellis Henderson. She is survived by her loving husband, Banks; two sons, Jerry Sharpe, 27, and daughter-in-law Ashley, 24, and John Bright, 17; and a beautiful daughter, 7-years-old, Priscilla; one grand-daughter, Alexus, 8-months-old; mother, Annie M. Henderson; brother, James E. Henderson; and four sisters, Mae J. Clark, Marie Godwin, Melissa McCoy and Glinda F. Henderson. Her family and friends were there for her till the end. They loved her and are going to miss her very much. Services will take place 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2008. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens in Dade City, Fla. The family requests donations be made to Melech Hospice House, 11125 N. 52nd St., Temple Terrace, FL 33617.

James Robinson
Robinson, James, 83, of Wesley Chapel passed away June 11, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy, daughter, Camille (Tom) Danzeisen, sons, Mark (Maria) Robinson and Joseph (Allison) Robinson, grandchildren, Adam & Matt Drake, Adrienne & Eli Robinson, Derek Wallenfels, great-grandson, Ethan Robinson and brother Morris (Ann) Robinson. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:30 AM Friday, June 13, 2008 at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 36327 State Route 54 with a service to follow at 11:30AM. Burial will be held at Florida National Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Hernando-Pasco Hospice East Care Center.

William “Bud” Spradley
Spradley, William “Bud”, 77, of Lakeland, died Thursday, June 12, 2008 in Lakeland. A life long resident of this area, he was a retired industrial salesman and was Methodist by faith. He graduatied from Pasco High School in 1948. He also served in the Korean conflict aboard several Navy aircraft carriers. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Margaret; two daughters, Cecelia Sealy of Brandon and Brenda Hancock of Orlando; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, June 20, at 9:00 a.m. at Floral Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in his honor.

Raymond “Ray” Yager
Yager, Raymond “Ray”, 81, of Dade City passed away Monday, June 9, 2008. He was born August 9, 1926 to Raymond Joseph and Gertrude Christine Schafer Yager of Jasper County, Newton, Illinois. Ray attended school in the Newton area and upon his graduation in 1944 from Newton Community High School was drafted into the US Navy. Ray served with the US Navy SeaBees during WWII in China and the Philippines building aircraft runways. Upon his discharge from the US Navy, he worked in the oil fields in southern Illinois. In the late 1940’s, Ray started long distance truck driving, hauling freight between St. Louis and the East Coast. In the early 1950’s, he moved to Dade City with the Lindsay-Chapman families and was one of the early pioneers of the Dade City trucking industry, hauling frozen concentrate orange juice from Pasco Packing to points all over the US. Ray owned a fleet of trucks leased to Clay Hyder Truckline in Dade City until 1965, when he started Ray’s Used Cars, which is still family owned and operated. Ray was a charter member of the American Legion, Jasper Post #20 in Newton, IL and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Newton. Ray is survived by his wife Virginia of Dade City; sons John Yager and Terry & Sally Scarborough of Dade City; a grandson, Nicholas Yager of Dade City. He is also survived by his siblings; Leroy “Corky” & Betty, Frank & Shirley, Paul & Sharon, all of Dade City, Lorraine “Kathy” & Kenneth Yager, Newton, IL, Michael & Laurie Yager, Effingham, IL, Jeanne & Dennis Dobbins, Wheeler, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews located throughout the US. He was preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Kathleen. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice, 37445 Clinton Avenue, Dade City, FL 33525 in his memory. Funeral services will be held 10am Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home. Friends may call from 6-8pm Friday evening at the funeral home.

Dorothy Swendsen
Swendsen, Dorothy, 84, Zephyrhills, passed away Sunday June 8, 2008. She was born June 17, 1923 in Hitman, Iowa. She has lived in Florida since 1986. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Marvin J. Swendsen; her children: Robert (Donna) Mueller, Machesney Park, IL, Bill (Gwenn) Mueller, Shippensburg, PA, Carole (Randall) Bonnell, Mt. Carroll, IL, Susan Spahm, Chicago; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Services will be 11 am Thursday, June 12 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Zephyrhills with visitation ½ prior to service. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, Thonotosassa.

George William McConnell
George William McConnell was born on Shanley Road Town of Marshall, NY on November 17, 1922, the son of John R. and Lela Payne McConnell. He was an Army veteran of WWII having participated in Normandy Invasion on D-day, the Battle of the Bulge and other engagements and went all the way to the link up with the Russians, returning in 1947. He was a Life Member of both the VFW and American Legion and a long time member of the Order of Moose, and the Deansboro Lions Club. He married Ruth J. (Kelsen) McConnell on October 03, 1942 who survives, and a son Kenneth G. and wife Margo with whom he resided in Wesley Chapel. His sisters, Catherine Klueber and Doris Washburn both predeceased him. George leaves grandchildren, Barbara McConnell, Michelle and husband Andy Vasquez, and Jennifer and husband J, James Northrop all of Deansboro, and Kenneth G. McConnell Jr. and Serena Hungerford of Waterville, 6 great grandchildren, nieces nephews and cousins. He also leaves a special daughter, Marilyn McConnell Spina of Deansboro. He retired from the Partlow Corp. of New Hartford, NY. George died Sunday June 8th at Hospice of Dade City, Fl. There will be no calling hours. For those who wish to do so, please make Donations to Hernando Pasco Hospice 37439 Clinton Ave. Dade City, Fl 33525 who were responsible for over a year of outstanding care and compassion.

Kenneth R. “Strawberry” Moore Sr.
Moore, Kenneth R., Sr. “Strawberry”, passed away peacefully, May 31, 2008. Beloved son of Ruby Jewel and Elias, he was born in Plant City on Dec. 18, 1943. He is survived by his wife, Violet and a loving blended family including his children: David M. (Cheryl), Kenneth R., Jr., Lucrecia, Denise, David L. (Barb), Lee and Heath; beloved Papa(Dad) to Caitlin Rose “Rosie”; special Papa to Faythe (who will always be his little girl); grandsons, Eren, Michael Christopher, Garrett and Masen; great granddaughter, Emberly; brother, James (Vicki); sister, Rhonda (David); brother-in-law, Ben and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Katz, staff and Doctors at SFMF for the superlative care they extended him throughout the years; Pasco Regional Hospital, ER, ICU and Staff for sending him back to his family for so many years; to nurses Barb, Robbie, Eren and the ICU staff for the loving care and compassion they gave throughout his passing; to Dr. Krish, Pasco Surgical for going the extra mile in care for Kenneth and special thanks to Jim for always being there for him. He was an ironworker and loved river fishing, bluegill, camping, barbequing, racing at Lakeland (Hobby Horse) and his faithful companions, Cookie, Candy, Chance “Bozo” and the Poet. He loved his family very much and he was my best friend and will be greatly missed. Don’t fall asleep at the tree…. We love you! Memorial services will be 1 pm, Saturday, June 14, at Victorious Life, Old Pasco Road, Wesley Chapel.
