William Brady Lloyd
LLOYD, William, 59, of Ocala, formerly of Lacoochee, died Sunday, May 9, 2004 at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala. A native and life-long resident of Florida, he was a Dairy Farmer and was Baptist. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Annie; three sons, William Lloyd, Jr. of Ocala, James Brady Lloyd of Lacoochee and Dewey R. Lloyd of Ocala; a brother, George Richard Lloyd of North Carolina; and six grandchildren.
The family received friends from 9-10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2004 at the funeral home. Graveside funeral services were held at 11am at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with military honors.

Lydia Pelto
Pelto, Saima Lydia, 95, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2004 at Zephyr Haven Nursing Home in Zephyrhills. She was born September 6, 1908 in Westmoreland County, PA, to Alexander Koski and Susane Wsitala Koski. She was the co-owner and operator, along with her husband, Frank Pelto of a poultry farm. She was of the Lutheran faith. She was preceded in death by her husband: Frank Pelto. She will be interred at Chapel Hill Gardens next to her husband.

Maycel MacLean
MacLean, Maycel Jean, 75, of East Wenatchee, WA, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2004 in Dade City under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice. She was born November 16, 1928 in Lake Side, WA, to Jack Johnson and Lilly Linniman Johnson. She was retired from the Banking Industry.
She is survived by her husband: D.E. MacLean, East Wenatchee, WA; 1 daughter: Donella Vogel, Zephyrhills, FL; 1 son: Mark E. MacLean, East Wenatchee, WA; 1 sister: Janet Bollinger, Yakima, WA; and 3 grandchildren.
Interment will take place in Washington.

Wilbert Mathis
MATHIS, Wilbert, 58, of Dade City, died Saturday, Mary 8, 2004 at East Pasco Medical Center. Funeral services were held at 11am on Wednesday at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.

Margaret Smith
SMITH, Margaret, 88, of Dade City, died Saturday, May 8, 2004 at Royal Oak Nursing Care Center. She moved here in 1998 from her native Poughkeepsie, NY. Formally, she was the society editor for the Poughkeepsie Journal.
Survivors include four children, Sandra Joan O'Connell and her husband, John of Booth Bay Harbor, Maine, Thomas Smith and his wife, Linda of Dade City, Steve Smith of Dade City and Lynn Marie Smith of Annapolis, Maryland; nine grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Private funeral services were held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.

Richard Herman "Brutus" Shelton
SHELTON, Richard Herman "Brutus", 71, of Dade City, died Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at Heritage Park Nursing Care Center in Dade City. A native of Scottsboro, Alabama, he moved to this area in 1964 from Chicago. He was previously employed at Lykes-Pasco and was a US Army Veteran having served in Korea. He was a member of the VFW and was Baptist.
Survivors include two sisters, Ramona Lopez of Dade City and Marie Finley of Birmingham, AL; four children, Larry and Steve Shelton, both of Alabama, Brett Shelton of Chicago and Brenda Ingles of Alabama; and five grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Jack "Popsie" Glavich
GLAVICH, Jack "Popsie", 85, of Dade City, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at home. A native of Chadburn, North Carolina, he moved to Florida in 1922 and graduated from Gulf High School in New Port Richey in 1939. He was an Armed Guard for the US Navy serving on Liberty Ships during WWII in the European Theatre. He retired from Plant City Steel in 1984 having been employed as a Master Fitter. He loved to fish and was an avid Ham Radio Operator. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dade City and served as both Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years. He loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lillie,; four children, James Glavich of Dade City, Sheila Stahl of Augusta, GA, Sharon Scheffer of Brooksville, and Steve Glavich of Dade City; eleven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Jack Terry Glavich in 1944.
The family received friends at First Baptist Church of Dade City from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2004. Funeral services were held at the church at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 7, 2004 with Pastors Ed Kuffel and Donnie Walton officiating. Burial followed at Dade City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the First Baptist Church of Dade City "Great Expansion" Fund or to Hernando-Pasco Hospice.

Ruben Sanchez
SANCHEZ, Ruben, 72, of Dade City, died Monday, May 3, 2004 at home. He moved to this area in 1970 from his native Texas and was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Dade City.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Clara; three sons, Rubin Sanchez, Jr and Antonio Sanchez, both of Dade City and Adolofo Sanchez of Ruskin; seven daughters, Maria Saldivar of Palmetto, Gloria Moreno of Houston, TX, Rosalinda Trevino of Palmetto, Diane Tejhada of Houston, Joanne Monk of Palmetto, and Annie Delcaro and Lydia Edwards, both of Ellenton, Fl; three brothers, Marcelino Sanchez of Dade City, Frank Sanchez of California and Jose Sanchez of Florida; a sister, Jesusa Sanchez of Temple, TX; 31 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
The family received friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2004 at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 7, 2004 at St. Rita Catholic Church with Father Edwin Palka officiating. Burial followed at Dade City Cemetery.

Mizetta Clark
CLARK, Mizetta, 97, of Dade City, died Monday, May 3, 2004 at home. She moved to this area in 1980 from her native Kathleen, Florida. She was a homemaker and was Christian.
Survivors include three children, Evelyn Johnes of Dade City, Myrtice Hahn of Ridge Manor and Ralph Clark of Lithia Springs; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2004 at Socrum Cemetery in Lakeland.

Earl Lewis McKinney
MCKINNEY, Earl L., 80, of Dade City, died Sunday, May 2, 2004 at Royal Oak Nursing Care Center. He was born August 15, 1923 in Dade City to Mose and Iva Jeanette McKinney. He attended Dade City Grammar and Pasco High School. He was a Combat Engineer in the US Army during WWII, serving in Africa, Normandy, France and Germany. He retired from the Army in 1966 after having served at Walter Reed Army Hospital, San Francisco, Korea, Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and Germany. He returned to Dade City at the time of his retirement and worked at Otto's Department Store for the next 18 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mose and Iva Jeanette McKinney, his brothers, Shelt McKinney and James "Mo" McKinney, and his sisters, Sarah Ashcraft and Margaret Sturwold. He is survived by a sister, Edith McKinney; sister-in-law Geoff McKinney; three nephews; and a niece.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2004. Funeral services were held in the chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home on Thursday, May 6, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Brad Stevens officiating. Burial followed at Florida National Cemetery.
