Carmen Maria West
West, Carmen Maria, 61, Dade City, Florida went to be with the Lord February 3, 2006 at St Joseph’s Hospital She was born December 29, 1944 in Gaynabo, Puerto Rico. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Zephyrhills. She loved her flower garden. Carmen touched the hearts of a lot of people. She was very passionate about her love of God, her family and flowers. She enjoyed being a homemaker. She is survived by her loving family including husband, Burt West, Dade City, two daughters, Carmen Faith, Dade City, Laura Maria Shoemaker, West Palm, Florida, one son, Burt West, Jr.,Tallahassee, Florida, mother, Laura Rivera of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, father, Jose Vazquez of Gaynabo, Puerto Rico, two brothers, Jose Vazquez, Jr. “Papo”, Gaynabo, Puerto Rico and Mike Vazquez of Broward County, Florida, and one sister, Nandy Vazquez, Carolina, Puerto Rico. Services will be held at First Assembly of God in Zephyrhills on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Anthony Graffam will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to First Assembly of God in Carmen’s name.

Betty M. Martin
Martin, Betty M., 56, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away Tuesday morning, February 7, 2006 in Dade City under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice. She was born November 30, 1949 in Canton, OH, and moved to Zephyrhills 12 years ago from Seattle, WA. She worked in the health care industry as a physical therapist and a certified nursing assistant. She is survived by her son: Zack Snow, Marysville, WA; her close friend and caregiver; Becky Woodruff, Zephyrhills, FL; her good friend: Pete Sanchez, Dade City, FL; and her grandson: Seth. Funeral services will be held 11am Friday, February 10, 2006 at Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 Chapel. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in her memory to Hernando-Pasco Hospice, 37445 Clinton Avenue, Dade City, FL 33525.

Rose M. Pennington
PENNINGTON, Rose M., 64, of Dade City, went to be with her Lord Saturday, February 4, 2006. She was born February 25, 1941 in Cross City, Florida the daughter of David and Martha Hamm. She has lived in the area most of her life. She was known for her cooking throughout the area and was a retiree from Multi Line Can Company. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Carroll "Penny" Pennington; her father, David Hamm; her brother, Rev. Joseph Hamm and two sisters, Shirley and Lessie Hamm. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and April Pennington of Dade City; her mother, Martha Hamm of Dade City; her grandchildren, Brandon and Lindsey Pennington; her step son, Kurt Pennington of Virginia; her step daughter and son-in-law, Dolores and Marshall Trivitt of Partlow, VA; her siblings and spouses, Martha and Rev. Jack Conkright of Steinhatchee, Mae and Milford Clark of Zephyrhills, Betty and Glenn Reffuse of Dade City, Joyce and Dan Blocker of Sanford, Elizabeth and Kenny Cox of Dade City and James Hamm of San Antonio; and many step grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 301 Chapel in Dade City with visitation on Monday from 6-8:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Gone to the Lord to be with her husband and other family members.

Mary Ruth Bollon
BOLLON, Mary Ruth, 89, of Dade City, died Thursday, February 2, 2006 at Pasco Regional Medical Center. She moved to this area in 1960 from her native Roswell, Georgia. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Family Worship in Dade City. Survivors include six children, Edward Suits and William Suits, both of Cleveland, Tennessee, Louise Whaley of Dalton, Georgia, Wanda Woodham and Sammie Stephens, both of Dade City and Peggy Simms of Lake Panasoffkee, FL; 32 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2006 at the 5th Street Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2006 with Pastor B.J. Denton officiating. Burial will follow at Dade City Cemetery.

Marion M. Foley
FOLEY, Marion M., 71 of Zephyrhills, died Thursday, February 2, 2006. She moved to this area in 1992 from Lakeland having moved to Florida in 1968 from her native Michigan. She was a homemaker and was a former member of the Moose Lodge. Survivors include her children, Robin McCusker of Ormond Beach and Kirk Cockrell of Lakeland; her grandchildren, Alexis Wittrock of Bradenton, Derek Briscoe of Ft. Stewart, GA, Joelle Cockrell of Lakeland and Lisa, Jamie & Kelly of Lakeland; her great grandchildren, Ashlyn Wittrock of Bradenton, Aidan Wittrock of Bradenton and Logan Briscoe of Ft. Stewart; a brother, Leo Hodges of Lakeland; and three sisters, Betty Krohn of Hale, MI, Opal McGoldrick of Irving, Texas and Charlotte Hodges of Lakeland. She was predeceased by her husband James R. Foley in June of 2001. Graveside funeral services will be held at Florida National Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2006.

Lisa Yvonne Boop
Boop, Lisa Yvonne, 41, Zephyrhills, Florida, died Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at Florida Hospital after a brief illness. She was born May 24, 1964 in Covington, Kentucky. She moved here from Sunbury, PA. She was a nurse and the sweetest person you’ll ever meet. She was a big Barbie Doll Collector and she loved her family. She is survived by four brothers, Benny Santos, David Sisco and Earl Sisco all of Zephyrhills, and Emzy Sisco of New York, three sisters, Michelle Mitchell, St. Pete, Florida, Rebecca Wolf and ShellyWynn both of Zephyrhills, one nephew, Benny Santos, Jr, Zephyrhills, two nieces, Amanda Sisco, Zephyrhills and Rayvin of New York. A viewing will be held at Hodges Family Funeral Home on 54 on February 4, 2006 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM .

Alice Jane Sinden
SINDEN, Alice Jane, 73, of Dade City, died Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at home. She moved to this area in 1985 from her native Rochester, NY. She was a homemaker and was of the Protestant faith. She volunteered for all things associated with her children such as the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Survivors include four children, Kathleen Friday and her husband, Stephen of Rochester, Paul Sinden of Zephyrhills, Elizabeth Sinden of Dade City and James Sinden and his wife Kelly of Zephyrhills; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Sinden; two brothers, Thomas Wiley of Manchester, NY and John Wiley of Wildwood, FL; two sisters, Mary Graham of Webster, NY and Ruth Reeves of Sun City, AZ; and ten grandchildren, Jason, Daniel & Stephanie Friday, Shane, Kyle & Matthew Sinden, Joshua Palmer-Sinden, and Amanda, Bruce & Ashley Comtlin. She was predeceased by her husband, William Sinden in 1996. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice.

Robert Lewis Chester
Chester, Robert Lewis, 85, died in Denver, January 28, 2006. He was born March 23, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was in the Army and served in World War II. He was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zephyrhills. Until he moved to Colorado in 1997, he was the announcer for the radio broadcast of Sunday services from St. Joseph’s from 1978 – 1985. He is preceded by his wife Leona “Peg” Chester in 1997. Robert is survived by his daughter Barbara (Gordon) Serpa, Lakewood, CO, one brother Daniel (Martha) Chester, Cherokee Village, AR, two grandchildren, Jennifer Labbienti, Seattle, WA and Robert Labbienti, Lakewood, CO. A service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:00 AM Friday, February 3, 2006. Father Jayanna Kanna will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens.

Robert Gadsby
Gadsby, Robert, 79, of Dade City left this life on January 30, 2006. Mr. Gadsby was born on November 3, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan to proud parents Wilson and Grace Gadsby. He is survived by his loving wife Jean and his 8 children; Kenneth of Canton Township, Michigan, Bill of Hudson, MI, Robert Jr. of Redford, Michigan, Linda Ouetette of Westland, Michigan, Kathy Holiday of Reading, Michigan, Carol Fleming of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Diane St. Antoine of Merced, California and Sarah Dixon of Zephyrhills. Mr. Wilson is also survived by his brother Kenneth Gadsby of St. Petersburg, his sister Margaret (Hank) Verdu of Sterling Heights, Michigan, and his sisters-in-law Dorothy Munoz, Evelyn Bennett, and Louise Jones. He will be missed greatly by his by his 22 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Services will be held by Hodges Family Funeral Home and will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnel, Florida, on Thursday, February 2, 2006 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations and memorials be addressed to Mrs. Gadsby and will be distributed to Hernando-
Pasco Hospice.
