Dorothy Mae Fields
Fields, Dorothy M., 78, of Zephyrhills, died Saturday, August 5, 2006 at Florida Hospital of Zephyrhills. A native of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, she moved to Tampa in 1961 and then to the Pasco County area in 1970. She was a homemaker and was Methodist. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she loved farming and caring for her family. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Ray; a son, Gary Fields of Harleyville, SC; a daughter, Randi Hathaway and her husband, Ivan of Zephyrhills; a brother, Wayne Thibaut of Liberty, Indiana; and two grandchildren, Rachel and Alex Fields, both of Paonia, Colorado.

Jorge "Choche" Moreno
Moreno, Jorge “Choche”, 71 years, Lacoochee, Florida, passed away Friday, August 4, 2006 at his home under the care of Hernando Pasco Hospice. He was born May 6, 1935 in Gregory, Texas the son of Patricio and Manuela Tamez Moreno. Lived in Dade City and Lacoochee for 38 years. He was a self-employed contractor. He attended St. Rita Catholic Church. He married Maria Ladinos on April 26, 1967. He is survived by his wife, Maria; his children: Leopoldo Moreno of Lacoochee, Alvaro Moreno of Dade City, Carmel Florez of Zephyrhills; Juan Moreno of Bushnell, Aurora Moreno of Lacoochee, Patricia Smith of Ridge Manor and George Moreno of Lacoochee; 2 brothers, 27 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many other family and friends. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m, Monday at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 11441 Highway 301, Dade City. Funeral Mass will be 10 am Tuesday at St Rita Catholic Church, Dade City with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hernando Pasco Hospice.

Betty J. Ebsary
Ebsary, Betty J., 71, Zephyrhills, Florida passed away at her residence Tuesday, August 1, 2006. She was born October 19, 1934 in Baldwinsville, NY the daughter of Barney and Catherine Roberts Abbott. She moved to Zephyrhills from Syracuse, NY 24 years ago. She was a Secretary in the drug store business and of the Episcopal faith. She loved dogs! She was a charter member of the Links of Bernadette. She is preceded in death by her husband Hugh. She survived by a nephew, Charles Roberts of Sacramento, CA and a cousin John Kinney, Zephyrhills. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at Hodges Family Funeral Home on Hwy 54 in Zephyrhills. A Service will be at 11:00 AM with a burial following at Oakside Cemetery.

Steve Vukelich
Vukelich, Steve, 80, of Dade City, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2006 in Dade City. He was born July 14, 1926 in Kisterville, PA, the son of Fabian and Monda Vukelich, and moved to Dade City 22 years ago from Mt. Morris, MI. He retired from GM Fisher Body in their Tool and Die department and was a US Navy veteran of WW II. He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Anna Makidon Vukelich, Dade City, FL; 3 children: Steven & Judith Vukelich, St. Louis, MO, Michael & Debbie Vukelich, Morrow, OH, Margaret & Michael Minns, Akron, OH; 1 brother: Peter Vukelich, Uniontown, PA; 1 sister: Mary Allen, Detroit, MI; 2 grandchildren: Steven & Kari Vukelich, Lawrence, KA, Christopher Vukelich, Morrow, OH. Private inurnment services will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.

Dorothy H. Ray
Ray, Dorothy H., 86, of Lutz, left this life on July 31, 2006. Mrs. Ray was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 27, 1919 to parents Ernest and Minnie Hobson. Dorothy came to the Tampa area 34 years ago from Madison Heights, Michigan with her beloved husband of 55 years Donald Ray. Mrs. Ray is reunited in heaven with her loving husband and her grandson Paul Marcella. She leaves behind daughter Karen (Tony) Marcella of Wesley Chapel, son, Donald (Marge) Ray of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and daughter Becky Ray of Lake Orion, Michigan. She also leaves behind grandchildren Lisa Spiro, Steven Marcella, Nancy Augustyn, and Cathy Gateman as well as 8 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ray will be missed by all who knew her, services will be held on Friday, August 4th at 4:00pm at Hodges Family Funeral Home (11441 U.S. Hwy 301, Dade City). The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s research foundation.

William J. Dillinger
Dillinger, William Joseph, 82 years, of Sandalwood, Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2006 at Dade City. He was born April 19, 1924 in Westview, Pennsylvania the son of William and Theresa Dillinger. He lived in Zephyrhills the last 19 year, moving from Pittsburg, PA. He has previously owned and operated, Dilco, a heating and air-conditioning business in Meadville, PA. He is survived by his son, David Dillinger of Brandon and his former, Rose Marie Dillinger of Zephyrhills. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. He served in the Navy during WW II. He will be inurned at Florida National Cemetery at 1 PM Thursday, August 3 with military honors.

Derek James Pieper
Pieper, Derek James, 17, of Wesley Chapel, passed away suddenly Friday, July 28, 2006. He was born September 25, 1988 in Minneapolis, MN the son of Wayne Pieper and Susan G. Burress Pieper. He has lived in Wesley Chapel since 2001. He was an honor student at Wesley High School and was on the lacrosse team. He was a member of Calvary Tabernacle, Thonotosassa where he was baptized March 10, 2004. He is survived by his mother and step father, Susan and Steven Wood of Wesley Chapel; his father, Wayne Pieper of Michigan; his brother Bryan and his wife Diana Pieper of Tampa; his nephew, Christian Pieper; his grandparents, Donald Burris of Salol, MN; DeEtta and Duwayne Comstock of Salol, MN and Sharon Wood, Baudette, MN and many uncles, aunts, cousins and many, many friends. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, August 4, 2006 at Calvary Tabernacle, 10930 US Hwy 301 N., Thonotosassa. There will be a scholarship fund set up in memory of Derek by the Lacrosse/Wesley Chapel Athletic Association at a late date.

Richard Leroy Mathews
Mathews, Richard Leroy, 63, Zephyrhills, Florida passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa, Florida. He was born May 30, 1943 in Marlette, MI. the son of the Late James Arthur Mathews and Elsie (Chisholm) Mathews. Richard attended Marlette, Community school, and Marlette High School in May of 1961. Upon graduation, he joined the Air Force and served as a hydraulic engineer from 1961 to 1966. He also served in the U. S. Navy. Later he joined the Air Force reserves in Sacramento, CA. Upon his retirement, he moved to Zephyrhills in 1997. He is survived by a daughter, Kimberly (Dave) Wroth, Lake Tahoe, CA; two sisters, Betty (Irwin) Isanhart, Zephyrhills and Anna (John) Lapeer, Decker, MI; and 3 grandchildren, Carson Wroth, Richie Wroth and Robert Wroth in addition to many nieces and nephews. Richard was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Mathews and James E. Mathews. The family will receive friends at 2:00 PM, Wednesday August 2, 2006 at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Zephyrhills, 36327 Hwy 54. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Dean Walter from Faith Baptist will officiating with Military Honors by MacDill AFB.

Dr. Wayne Cole Malone
Malone, Wayne Cole, Ph.D., 76, of Dade City, died Saturday, July 29, 2006 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center in Dade City. A native of Miami, Fla., he was born to Edgar and Haydee Malone and was raised in Tennessee. After graduation from High School, he entered the US Navy serving from 1949 until 1952. He graduated from Tennessee Polytechnological Institute in 1956. He continued his education at Peabody College in Nashville, TN and received his Masters of Arts degree in 1957, an EDS Degree in 1963 and his Doctorate in 1969. He was the Assistant football coach at Pasco High School starting in 1960 and after receiving his Ph.D., he became the Principal of Pasco High School in 1969. He retired in 1982. He loved to read and watch stock market trends, but was most passionate about his Tennessee Volunteers. He was predeceased by his parents, Dexter "Spike" Malone and Haydee Wynee Malone. Survivors include his children, Marc Wayne Malone and his wife, Karen, Marcia Malone Dwyer and her husband, Dan, Shane Malone and Mallory Malone; and five grandchildren, Courtney and Lindsey Dwyer, McKenzie and Cutter Malone, and Jessica Delong. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 with full military honors. The family has elected to have no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center, 37439 Clinton Avenue, Dade City, FL 33525.

Rosita M. Caldwell
Caldwell, Rosita M., 68, of Wesley Chapel left this life on July 27, 2006. Mrs. Caldwell was born on July 20, 1938 in Fairborn, Ohio to parents Lloyd and Sara Jacobs. Mrs. Caldwell worked for the Citrus County Building Department for nearly 26 years and considered her co-workers her second family. Mrs. Caldwell loved spending time with her family and friends and remembering all the good times she shared with them all. She is survived locally by her sister Patricia Jacobs, her daughter Telah (Paul) Thompson, niece Lavonna Williams, and nephew Robert Williams, grandchildren Brittney, Crystina, and Brenden. She also leaves behind 22 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 5th at Hodges Family Funeral Home (11441 U.S. Hwy 301, Dade City) beginning at 11:00am.

Willie Mae Armwood
Armwood, Mrs. Willie Mae, 61, of Dade City, left this life for a better life on July 28, 2006. She was born July 10, 1945 in Luverne, Alabama, the daughter of Adam and Marie Anderson Searight. She moved to Dade City when she was 16 years old. She goes to join her huband Willie Edward in heaven. She leaves to cherish her memories, one brother, Bobby Joe Searight of Dade City; two sisters, Rev. Annie R. Curry of Cleveland, Ohio and Mary S. and her husband Eddie Thomas of Dade City; two uncles, John N. Anderson of Birmingham, AL and R.C. and his wife Loretta Searight of Brundidge, AL; three aunts, Arbersen Mitchell and Lizzie Mae McDonmald, both of Troy, AL and Ethel Searight of Tacoma, WA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mrs. Armwood was a cook at St. Leo University for 25 years. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Dade City. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Friday August 4, 2006 at Hodges Family Funeral Home, (14046 5th Street, Dade City). Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, August 5 at the St. John Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow at Dade City cemetery.

Robert R. Manship
Manship, Robert R., 82, Wesley Chapel, Florida passed away at his residence Thursday, July 27, 2006. He was born May 21, 1924 in Lawrenceville, Illinois. He was a Minister for 52 years with the Independent Christian Church. He loved and was committed to his profession and everything involving the church. He loved people! He was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member and attended Chancey Road Christian Church for the past two years. He served in the U. S. Navy in World. War II. He is survived by his loving family, including a son Tom Manship, Chipley, Florida, a daughter, Janith Sue Mitchell, Wesley Chapel and son Larry Dean Manship, Indianapolis, IN. 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He is preceded by his wife Annabelle Manship and son Steven Dale Manship. The family will receive friends Monday, July 31, 2006 from 6:00 – 8:00 at Hodges Family Funeral Home on Hwy 54 in Zephyrhills. A Service will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at Chancey Road Christian Church at 10:00 AM. with a Graveside service following at Florida National Cemetery. The Rev. Tim Mitchell will officiate.
