Mary A. Rhodes
Rhodes, May A., 77 of Zephyrhills, passed away Monday, July 17, 2006 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center, Dade City. She was born Feb. 17, 1929 in Stone Gap, Virginia. She moved to Zephyrhills from Tampa in September, 2001. She was a member of Zephyrhills Lions Club, Hillsborough United Methodist Church, Tampa and was “Mrs. Claus for Christmas in July, Dade City. She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Burnes, Zephyrhills; Donna Allen, Lakeland and Debbra Rhodes, Zephyrhills; her grandchildren: David, Melinda, Victoria, Mitchell and Christine and her 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two sons: John “Penny” and Shawn Rhodes. No services were held and inurnment will be later in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice in her memory.

Edna Irene "Peg" Foster
FOSTER, Edna Irene "Peg", 87, of Zephyrhills, Florida, died Sunday at her residence. She was born October 3, 1918 in Decker, Michigan to Robert and Lila Griffin. She moved to this area in 1978 from Rochester, Michigan. Peg was a mother and homemaker, and a member of the Jehovah's Witness faith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, James Rosco Foster . She is survived by and will be so missed by her loving family, including sister and brother-in-law Val and Bob Burgett of Zephyrhills; her five children, Beverly Ann Sharrow of Eustis, FL, Patricia Lynn Polling of Metamora, MI, Barbara Michael of Zephyrhills, Patricia Ballagh of Metamora, and Bob Foster of Lake Orion, MI; twelve grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; one niece; two nephews; and many friends. A memorial service will be held at Hodges Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 19 at 10:00 am, with the Rev. John Harrell officiating. Interment will be next to her husband at Florida National Cemetery. Donations can be made in her honor to Hernando-Pasco Hospice.

Diane E. Sumner
SUMNER, Diane E., 49, of San Antonio, FL, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2006 at her home. She was born and raised in San Antonio and loved watching and playing tennis, bicycling, toiling in the garden, and traveling anywhere. She deeply loved her family and God. She is survived by her mother: Dorothy of San Antonio; her father: James & Elsie Sumner, Baldwin, GA; her brothers: Scott & Cherie Sumner, Tampa, Kevin & Stacey Sumner, San Antonio, Todd & Beverly Sumner, Dade City, Chad & Leslie Sumner, Snellville, GA; Kristi S. & John Gaffney, Atlanta, GA; her aunts & uncles: Marie Merkle, Brandon, Patty & LD Batchelor, Brooksville, Kenny & Lorraine DesRosier, Bradenton, Roman & Liz DesRosier, Dade City, Theresa & Bill Branas, Dade City, Charles & Linda DesRosier, Huntsville, AL, Bobby & Frances DesRosier, Dade City, Bobby & Marlene Sumner, San Antonio, Betty Filley, Dade City; great aunt: Corinne Peeples, Zephyrhills; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by one sister: Amy Sumner. She will be sorely missed by family and friends for her humor, candor, and love. Funeral services will be held 10am Thursday, July 20, 2006 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Friends may call from 6-7pm Wednesday evening at St. Anthony of Padua.

Joseph Marchese
Marchese, Joseph, 83, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, July 16, 2006 at Heron Nursing Home in Brooksville. A native of New York, New York, he moved to this area in 2001 from Long Island. He was a retired carpenter and was Catholic by faith. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Eileen; a daughter, JoAnne Torro of Spring Hill; a son, Gerald Marchese of Bronx, NY; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 in the Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home, 5th Street Chapel with Father John Hayes officiating.

Carl E. Jones
Jones, Carl E., 73, of Dade City left this life on July 15, 2006. Mr. Jones was born in Heislerville, New Jersey on February 18, 1933 to parents Ellsworth and Emma Jones. He worked as a truck driver and has lived in Dade City for the past 41 years with his beloved wife Betty of 40 years. He is survived by his wife Betty Jones, his son Michael Jones of Dade City, daughter, Linda Marlin of Wilmington, Delaware, daughter Bonita Briscoe of Dade City. He is also survived by four grandchildren Tamara, Eric, Matthew, and Andrew Briscoe, 2 great-grandchildren Austin and Chase, and three sisters Eleanor Scardone of Millville, New Jersey, Betty Banks of Millville, New Jersey, and Ruthann Dabney of Millville, New Jersey. Services for Mr. Jones will be held at Hodges Family Funeral Home (11441 U.S. Hwy 301, Dade City) on Wednesday, July 19, with visitation being held from 5-6pm and a service beginning at 6:00pm. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to ones favorite charity in his name.

Donald Scofield Aughenbaugh
Aughenbaugh, Donald Scofield, 91, of Dade City, FL, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2006. Mr. Aughenbaugh was born in Esmond, South Dakota. He was a Naval Instructor during World War II, a private pilot who built and flew airplanes for many years. A lifelong love of music led him to play in a dance band on transatlantic voyages of the Ile de France in 1929. Later he became the choir director for the First Methodist Church in Dade City, FL. He was a Florida real estate broker. Together in partnership with Lewis Abraham he formed a building company, Florida Homes, Inc. building homes in the Dade City area. Don made many friends through his 50 year affiliation with Zip Fuel in Dade City. He is survived by his wife June (Betty) Aughenbaugh; sister, Betty Ruth Sly; son, Robert (Bob) Aughenbaugh; daughter, Susan Massey Pleasants; grandchildren, Greg Aughenbaugh, Christopher Balionis, Leigh Griffith and Herbert Massey; great grand-children; Sarah, Ryan, Becky, Stephen, Audrey and Drake. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday July 23rd, 2006 at 3:00 pm at the First Methodist Church in Dade City, FL. Nevaeh Aleshea Greer
Greer, Nevaeh Aleshea, infant daughter of Roger G. Thompson and Vasiti Deshun Greer, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2006 at her home in Dade City. She was born July 2, 2006 in Zephyrhills, FL. She is survived by her father: Roger Thompson; her mother: Vasiti Greer; father’s parents: Michelle Sermons and Leroy Christopher; mother’s parents: Irma Golden and Stanley Greer; and her brother: Hezekiah Langley. Funeral services will be held 4pm Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at Hodges Family Funeral Home 5th Street Chapel with Rev. Cassie Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens.

Robert R. Brown
BROWN, Robert R., 73, of Dade City, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at Pasco Regional Medical Center. A native of Hammond, Indiana, he moved to this area in 1979. He was a US Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. Robert was hired in 1981 as Deputy Clerk for the Clerk of Pasco County Circuit Court. He was promoted to Records Center Manager in 1983, and then became a Records Center Specialist. He enjoyed the many challenges that his career brought him. He diligently and conscientiously served all the citizens of Pasco County until his retirement. He was well respected by his family, friends and colleagues. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy J. Brown; two daughters, Denise (Ed) Druskis of Hammond, Indiana and Kathryn (Bill) Rahtz of Lincoln Park, Michigan; a son, Jeffery Brown of Tampa; a sister, Betty Lannan of Griffith, Indiana; four grandchildren, Jonathan Newton, Leah Newton, Michael Brown and Nicole Rahtz; seven great grandchildren, Tori, Jonathan and Joey Newton, Stephanie Richards, Donald Skebo, and Angelina and Mercedes Rahtz; a niece, Sharon (Don) Grobner; and a nephew, William (Gloria) Graham. He is also survived by his faithful dog, “Duke”. He was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Shawn Brown; a granddaughter, Krystal Skebo; and two sisters, Katherine Nelson and Edith Graham. Funeral services will be held in the 5th Street Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Friday (Today) July 14, 2006 with Father Edwin Palka officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Richard Spencer, Jr.
Spencer, Richard Jr., 62, of Dade City left this life on July 12, 2006. Mr. Spencer was born in St. Petersburg, Florida on August 13, 1943 to parents Richard and Alice Spencer. Mr. Spencer was a former co-owner of Godwin-Singer machine shop of St. Petersburg, and moved to Dade City nine years ago with his beloved wife of 42 years Barbara. He is survived by his wife, his son Richard III, his daughter Tina Lindsey, and two grand-daughters Allysen and Samantha Lindsey. He is also survived by a sister Janice Laird and brothers Robert, Raymond, and Sherman Spencer. Mr. Spencer will be missed by all who knew him. Viewing will be held on Saturday, July 15 from 5-7pm with a service beginning at 6:30pm at the Hodges Family Funeral Home, (11441 US Hwy 301, Dade City). In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hernando-Pasco Hospice in his name.

Carol Mary Richter
RICHTER, Carol Mary, 57, of San Antonio, died on July 12, 2006 at the Hernando-Pasco Hospice House surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous fight with breast cancer. Born November 9, 1948 in Wadena, MN, Carol moved to Florida in 1973. She was a homemaker, a parishioner and CCD teacher at St. Rita’s and St. Anthony Catholic Churches, and Director of the Holy Name Academy Daycare for 15 years. Carol was predeceased by her father, William Schmitz, Jr. and her sister, Sharon Schmitz. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Thomas Richter; sons Darin (Emma) and Wayne Richter; and daughters Sandra and Monica Richter, and Laura (William) D’Water. Carol is also survived by her mother, Amelia Schmitz, seven brothers, five sisters, and nine grandchildren. A public viewing, followed by a rosary and vigil service, will be held for Carol from 3:00 -5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2006 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in San Antonio. The Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2006 at St Anthony Catholic Church, followed by interment at Florida National Cemetery.

Harriett Reppard Evans
Evans, Harriett Reppard, of Dade City, Florida and Highlands, North Carolina, died in her home on July 10, 2006. She was born December 18, 1940, in Tampa, Florida. She graduated from Pasco High School and University of Georgia. She was a member of Chi Omega Fraternity. A life time resident of Dade City, Florida, Mrs. Evans was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church as well as The Episcopal Church of the Incarnation in Highlands, North Carolina. She was a member of the Lake Jovita Country Club, Tampa Yacht and Country Club, Palma Ceia Country Club, Wildcat Cliffs Country Club and Highlands Country Club. Mrs. Evans is survived by her husband, James Emmett Evans, Jr., a son, James Emmett Evans III and his wife, Margaret Anne, of Vero Beach, Florida; two daughters: Reppard Evans Weaver and her husband, Macky, of Jacksonville, Florida and Harriett Burdick Evans Gaddy and her husband, Stephen of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. She is also survived by her sister, Evelyn Sullivan of Newnan, Georgia and five grandchildren, Jimmy Weaver, Evans Weaver, Sarah Anne Evans, Charlie Gaddy, and Harry Gaddy. Services will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2006, at 1:00 PM at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Dade City with Father Douglas Zimmerman as celebrant. A reception will immediately follow in the Parish Hall. Serving as pallbearers will be Lionel L. Lowry, III, Lionel L. Lowry, IV, W. Woody Johnson, Woodland Johnson, Phil Williams, Skip Mize, Jon Auvil and Ron Weaver. Burial will be private. Arrangements for the services are being made by Hodges Family Funeral Home, Dade City, Florida. Memorials in her name will be accepted at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, 12107 Majestic Blvd. Hudson, FL 34667.
