David Judd
David Peter Judd, 32, Memphis, Tenn., died Oct. 7, 1998, at E.R. Memphis Medical Center. He was born in Horal Park, L.I., N.Y., and he was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Memphis. He was the father of the late David Ethan Judd. The younger Judd was killed by a drunk driver in 1995.
Survivors include two daughters, Shannon Ashley and Sabrina Arin Judd and their mother, Lori, Memphis; his parents, Anita and David Judd, St. Augustine; two brothers, Christopher, Long Island, N.Y., Stephen, Hornsby, Tenn.; one sister, Lisa Judd McPhillips, St. Augustine; and other relatives.
Private services are planned at Memory Gardens, Memphis.
Applebee McPhillips Funeral Home, Middletown, N.Y., is in charge.

David Mark Sr.
David E. Mark Sr.75, Titusville, died Oct. 10, 1998, at his home. He was born in Chicago, Ill., and he retired from the Orlando Utilities Commission, Indian River Plant, as the chief electrician. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, stationed in the South Pacific during World War II, and he was a member of the ground crew of the original Blue Angels team formed in 1946. He was active member of the Moonport Modellers, a radio control flying club in Titusville.
He was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Titusville.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Titusville.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Lynes Gibbon Mark; two sons, David Mark, Jr., Titusville, Joseph Mark, St. Augustine; and four grandchildren.
Brevard Memorial Funeral Home, Frontenac, is in charge.

C.A. Osgood
C.A. (Dee) Osgood, 64, St. Augustine, died Oct. 9, 1998. He was a lifelong of St. Augustine, and he was currently residing at 13 DuPont Lane. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and he sang in the choir for many years. He was also in the National Guard. And he will be remembered by many for his impersonations and musical abilities, playing saxophone and clarinet with many local bands.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Church of God, 57 Anderson St., with the Rev. J.E. Tanner and Lucy Norton officiating. A reception will follow at the home of his son, Matthew Osgood.
Survivors include two sons, Michael and Matthew Osgood; a daughter, Carrie Osgood Rayfield; two brothers, Vernon and William Osgood; one sister, Evelyn Osgood Wilson, all of St. Augustine; 12 grandchildren and other relatives.

James Rivers Sr.
James Rivers Sr., a former St. Augustine resident, died Oct. 8, 1998, in Tallahassee Memorial Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion AME Church, Monticello.
His father, Joseph Rivers, and brother, Eddie Lee Rivers, preceded him in death.
Survivors include four sons, James Jr., Joseph, William and Michael Rivers; two daughters, Bertha Rivers Johnson, Minister Regenia Rivers Johnson, all of St. Augustine; his mother, Ellies Rivers, Tallahassee; three brothers, Joseph Rivers, Tallahassee, Enoch Rivers, Havana, Robert Rivers, Miami; three sisters, Frances Rivers Walker, Tallahassee, Bertha Rivers Lightfoot, Miami, Ellies Rivers Dixon, Miami; and other relatives. The House of Brown Funeral Home, 1108 W. Orange Ave., Tallahassee, is in charge.

William Townsend
Memorial services for William Pierre Townsend Sr., 65, St. Augustine, who died Oct. 9, 1998, at his home, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. S. Dwight McQueen, pastor, officiating. Masonic memorial services will also be held. Members of the lodge are asked to meet at the church for the service.
Craig Funeral Home is in charge.

William Shaffer
William T. Shaffer, 71, Palm Coast, died Oct. 14, 1998, at the Mariner Health Care Center, St. Augustine. He was born in McKeesport, Pa., and he was also a former resident of North Versailles, Pa. He was a member of Mother Seton Catholic Church, Palm Coast, and he also held membership in National AARP, Hammock Civic Association, Bell Telephone Pioneers, and he was a past member of the Palm Coast Boating Association, Flagler Ocean Waves Square Dancing Club and the Flagler by the Sea Lions Club.
Friends may call at Craig Funeral Home, Bunnell, from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Services and burial will follow in White Oak, Pa., with the Strifflers of White Oak Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Schleifer Shaffer; sons, William Jeannette, Pa., George, Bunnell, Mark, Bear, Del.; a daughter, Cynthia Shaffer, Pittsburgh, Pa.; one sister, Nancy Mitchell; and five grandchildren.

James Horn Sr.
James Horn Sr., 76, 87 Cerro St., died Oct. 12, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville. He was a lifelong resident of St. Augustine, and he was a member of St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Isaac Davis, pastor, officiating. Burial will St. Augustine Memorial Park. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, and at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the hour of services.
Survivors include his very loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Ruby Horn; sons, James Horn Jr., (Linda), Port Chester, N.Y., Alfred Horn, (Diane), White Plains, N.Y., Bertram Horn, (Rosemary), Jacksonville; daughters, Donnie Larrymore, (Charlie), Jacksonville, Ruthie Anderson, St. Augustine; son-in-law, Jackie Anderson, Fort Lauderdale; brothers, Herman Horn, Jacksonville, Joseph Horn, New York City; sisters-in-law, Carol Hawkins, Philadelphia, Pa., Willie Mae Thomas, Birdsnest, Va.; sister, Violet Eubanks, Lehigh Acres; a very devoted brother-in-law, Nathan Eubanks, Lehigh Acres; other brothers-in-law, David Chipp, Detroit, Mich., Theodore Green, Philadelphia; a devoted cousin, Montine Corbert, St. Augustine; 17 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

J.R. Johnson-Berg
J. Raymond Johnson-Berg, St. Augustine, died Oct. 28, 1998, at Flagler Hospital. He was a native of Van Hook, N.D., and he had resided in St. Augustine for 50 years. A graduate of Boston University, he was a retired vice president of Daytona Beach Community College. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Coast Guard, and he was a member of the St. Augustine Chess Club. He was a member of the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine.
No local services are planned. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a donation, in his memory, to the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine, 35 Treasury St., St. Augustine, 32084.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Slattery Johnson-Berg, St. Augustine; and one niece, Linda Harvey, Interior, S.D.

Thelma Taylor
Funeral services for Thelma Taylor, 90, 75 Lovett St., who died Oct. 23, 1998, in Flagler Hospital, will be held at 11 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. A.J. Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. today until the hour of services.
Chase and Son Funeral Home is in charge.

Danal Williams
Funeral services for Danal Rayvon Williams, 20, Hastings, who died Oct. 23, 1998, will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Lord's Temple Church, with Bishop John McNair, pastor of Refuge Church of Our Lord, Palatka, officiating. Burial will be in Palatka Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the church from noon today until the hour of services.
Coleman's Mortuary, Hastings, is in charge.

Lauretta Becker
Lauretta Eleanor Becker, 70, St. Augustine, died Oct. 19, 1998, at Flagler Hospital. She was born in Chicago, Ill., and she had resided in St. Augustine for the past six years.
Survivors include her husband, Russell Becker; two sons, Glen and Gary Becker, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Mary Ann King, California; and four grandchildren.
Arrangements will be announced by Craig Funeral Home.

Joseph Brown
Funeral services for Joseph Thomas Brown, 37, Hastings, who died Oct. 19, 1998, at Memorial Medical Center, Jacksonville, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Craig Funeral Home chapel. Friends may call at Craig chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
Flowers are gratefully declined, and donations will be accepted, in his memory, for a special fund, with further details to be announced.

Marian Cobb
Memorial services for Marian Jean Cobb, 63, St. Augustine, who died Oct. 15, 1998, at the Earl B. Hadlow Center, Jacksonville, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Anastasia Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ron Moore, pastor, officiating.
Flowers are gratefully accepted, or those wishing may make a contribution, in her memory, to Anastasia Baptist Church Building Fund, 1650 A1A South, St. Augustine, 32084.

Fay Fickes
Funeral services for Fay Jean Fickes, 49, St. Augustine, who died Oct. 19, 1998, at her home, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Family Worship Center, with the Rev. Philip Cochran, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church from 1 p.m. Friday until the hour of services.

Kenneth Kook
Kenneth George Kook, 77, St. Augustine Beach, died Oct. 19, 1998, at Flagler Hospital. He was born in Avoca, Mich., and he had resided in St. Augustine for the past three years. He was a retired professional engineer, and he was of the Episcopal faith.
Funeral services will be held at a later date in Michigan, with the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; two sons, Jeffrey L. Kook, Ruby, Mich., Christopher E. Kook, St. Augustine; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Craig Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Barbara Downey
Barbara A. Downey, 62, 3333 Monument Road, Jacksonville, died Oct. 9, 1998, at Baptist Medical Center, Jacksonville. Arrangements will be announced by Chase and Son Funeral Home.

Betty Clardy
Betty K. Clardy, 364 Monkia Place, St. Augustine, died at her home on Oct. 24, 1998. A native of Jacksonville, she has resided in St. Augustine since 1969. She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1945, and was a past president of the Jaycee Wives Club of Gainesville. After moving to St. Augustine, she was active in the real estate business for several years. She was an avid golfer, having been past president of the Ladies Golf Association of Marsh Creek and Ponce de Leon Country Clubs. She was also very active in the Jacksonville Women's Golf Association and was a member of Anastasia Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Craig Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Schremmer of Valdosta, Ga., officiating. Friends may call at Craig Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday. Flowers are gratefully declined and those wishing may make a contribution in her memory to the St. Augustine Shrine Club Building Fund, P.O. Box 311, St. Augustine, 32085.
Survivors include her husband, Wendell E. Clardy; a daughter, Cynthia Schremmer, Valdosta, Ga.; a son, Dr. John W. Clardy, Mobile Ala.; and two grandchildren.

Madeline Howard
Madeline Margaret Howard, 88, of St. Augustine died Oct. 22, 1998, at St. Johns Health Care Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine and a member of San Sebastian Catholic Church.
Graveside services will be announced.
Survivors include two sons, George Green, Buffalo, W. Va., and Donald Green, Taloga, Okla.; one sister, Etta Paul, N.C.; one grandson and one granddaughter.

Lee Selby
Lee Selby, 60, of St. Augustine Beach died Oct. 23, 1998, at University Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born in Greenville, Ga., and had resided in St. Augustine Beach for the past 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Selby.
She is survived by her children, Ellen Taylor, David Black and Robert Black, all of St. Augustine; a sister, Buddy Gordon, La Grange, Ga.; six grandchildren and other relatives.
Memorial services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Anastasia Baptist Church. Watts Funeral Home & Crematory, San Mateo, is in charge of the arrangements.

Joseph Brown
Funeral services for Joseph Thomas Brown, 37, Hastings, who died Oct. 19, 1998, at Memorial Medical Center, Jacksonville, will be held at 10 a.m. today at Craig Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Thomas Outley, pastor of Church on the Rock Ministries, officiating.
Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to a trust account for his daughters, Josephine Michelle Brown and Jessica Marie Brown; and send to Sara S.
