Judith Langland
Judith Wood Langland, 81, Amherst, Mass., and St. Augustine, died May 20, 1997, in Gainesville at the home of her daughter, Elizabeth Langland, and her son-in-law, Jerald Jahn. Born on Government Island, Cohasset, Mass., she was an artist-painter and the first woman to receive an MFA degree at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 1966. Prior to that time, she studied in Rome, London, Norway and at the universities of Wyoming and Washington.
She was also a former teacher, on the high school level, and served as an art specialist with the Massachusetts State Department of Mental Health. She and her husband had a winter home in St. Augustine.
Memorial services are planned at a later date in Amherst. Those wishing may make a donation, in her memory, to the art or English departments at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, or to Hospice.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 54 years, Joseph Langland; three children, Joseph Jr., Amherst, Elizabeth, Gainesville, Paul, New York; two sisters, Frances Bunce, Warwick, R.I., Mildred Lidington, Plymouth, Mass.; and two grandchildren.
Daniel Worth Direct Cremation, Gainesville, is in charge.

Sandra Cybulski
Sandra A. Cybulski, 61, St. Augustine, died May 24, 1997, at Mariner Health Care Center. She was born in New York City and had lived in St. Augustine for the past 13 years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by two daughters, Christine Loveland and Cheryl Webb, both of St. Augustine; four sons, Richard Cybulski, Rowlette, Texas, Kenneth Cybulski, Payson, Utah, Daniel Cybulski, Salem, Utah, and Steven Cybulski, Jacksonville; two sisters, Laurel Johnson, St. Augustine, and Paulette Young, Emery, Utah; a brother, Dallas Johnson, Ponte Vedra Beach; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be announced by Craig Funeral Home.

Ruby Harden
Ruby Harden, 84, St. Augustine, died May 24, 1997, at Memorial Medical Center in Jacksonville. She was born in Tuscaloosa County, Ala., and she worked a number of years as a waitress at McCartney's drug store and lunch counter.
She is survived by her son, James Harden, Plantation; two sister, Edna and Nina; and two grandsons.
Memorial services will be announced by Craig Funeral Home.

Bridget Mitchell
Funeral services for Bridget Lilla Mitchell, 75, 93 South St., who died May 14, 1997, at Flagler Hospital West, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Victory Tabernacle, with the Rev. Homer Brown, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. today.

Louis Nelson
Louis Charles Nelson, 71, 801 E. Booie St., Bunnell, died May 23, 1997, at his home. Arrangements will be announced by Chase and Son Funeral Home.

Naomi Richardson
Naomi Louise Richardson, 72, 1208 Houston, St., Green Cove Springs, died May 23, 1997, at University Medical Center, Jacksonville. Arrangements will be announced by Chase and Son Funeral Home.

Ruth Schneid
Ruth Smith Schneid, 76, Norman, Okla., died May 23, 1997, in Norman. She was born in Malden, Mass., and grew up in Flushing, N.Y. She attended New York University and worked as a lab technician. After her marriage to Morris Schneid, she lived in Patchoque, N.Y., where she was a member of the League of Women Voters. She taught remedial reading in Bell Port, N.Y.
She moved to St. Augustine 1982 and was a member of the Needlers Group here. She then moved to Norman in 1996 where she was active in a senior citizens' group.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
She is survived by her son, William Schneid, Medford, N.Y.; a daughter, Judith Schneid Lewis, Norman, Okla.; a granddaughter and two nieces.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements will be announced by Havenbrook Funeral Home, Norman, Okla.
Those wishing may make a contribution in her memory to the Community Hospice of Norman, 2424 Springer Dr., Norman, Okla. 73072.

Marie Seniors
Marie Loleta Seniors, 96, 119 Moore St., St. Augustine, died May 24, 1997, at Flagler Hospital West. She was retired from the teaching profession after some 52 years in the public school system. Arrangements will be announced by Chase and Son Funeral Home.

Sandra Cybulski
Funeral services for Sandra A. Cybulski, 61, St. Augustine, who died May 24, 1997 at Mariner Health Care Center will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, with Bishop Zane Stevens officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to the hour of services at the church.
Craig Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bridget Mitchell

Annie Samec
Annie Samec, 97, of St. Augustine, died May 24, 1997 at St. Johns Health Care Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held a t 11 a.m. Thursday at Craig Funeral Home, with the Rev. Talmadge Etheridge, pastor, Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Craig Funeral Home.
She is survived by her daughter Mary E. Partin, St. Augustine, and three sons: Frank Samec, St. Augustine; John Felix Samec, Tampa; and Herman Phillip Samec, Green Cove Springs: 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 23 great-great grandchildren.

Ruth Smith
Ruth W. Smith, 90, 241 Treasure Beach Blvd., St. Augustine, died Sunday, May 25, 1997, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born in Mountain Park City, Georgia and lived in Marietta, Ga. and Seneca, S.C. before moving here in 1990. She was retired from the Holeproof Hosiery Co. of Marietta, Ga. as an inspector of 30 years.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 1997, at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, Ga.
She is survived by one son, Robert Smith of St. Augustine and one daughter, Joyce Green, of Marietta, Ga.; five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Croyle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Thompson
Commander Robert C. Thompson, 81, 98 N. St. Augustine Blvd., St. Augustine, died May 24, 1997, at Flagler Hospital East emergency room.
He was born in Conneautville, Pa. May 30, 1915. He came to St. Augustine 24 years ago.
He was retired from the U.S. Navy after serving 27 years. He was a WWII veteran, having served in the South Pacific. He was retired director of land acquisitions for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He was a member and past president of the Navy League of St. Augustine, member of the Retired Officers Association, member of the Exchange Club of St. Augustine, member of the Military Order of World Wars, member of the St. Augustine/St. Johns County Sports Club, member of the National AARP, member of the Officers Club, life member of the Friends of the Library and a 50-year member of both the Masonic Lodge and American Legion of Conneautville, Pa.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth; two daughers, Regina Williams of Barrie, Ontario and Rebecca Cunha of St. Augustine; and four grandchildren.
Flowers are gratefully declined and contributions may be made to the St. Francis House or your favorite charity.
Services will be private and burial will be in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fl.

Funeral services for Sandra A. Harry Engelstein
Harry Engelstein, 91, Boca Raton, died May 11, 1997, in Boca Raton Rehabilitation/Nursing Center. He was born in Hungary in 1905 and emigrated to New York City with his family at age 5. He worked for the U.S. Post Office for 35 years.
Burial was in Beth David Memorial Gardens, Hollywood.
Those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to the American Cancer Society, POB 5355, St. Augustine, 32085; or St. Martin's Soup Kitchen, 1311 Alabama St., San Francisco, Calif. 94110, c/o Charles Engelstein.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Hennrieta Engelstein; two daughters, Elaine Anderson, St. Augustine, Dorothy Piacentino, Long Island, N.Y.; a son, Charles Engelstein, San Francisco; two brothers, Allen Engels, Rodeo, Calif., Phillip Engelstein, Tamarac; a sister, Fannie Rosenberg, Delray Beach; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

George King
George Broome King, 54, son of Mrs. Thomas Fitch King, and the late Mr. King, died May 25, 1997. He was born in Miami, in 1943, and he had resided in St. Augustine.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery, Jacksonville, Gate 5, with Dr. Thomas Are of the South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church officiating.
Those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to ARC, 1204 ARC Drive, St. Augustine, 32095.
Survivors include his mother, Annette W. King; brothers, Thomas Fitch King Jr. and Tucker White King.

Joe Moro
Joe Moro, 93, St. Augustine, died May 25, 1997, at his home. He was born in Ferno, Italy, and he had resided here since 1968. He was retired from the construction industry, and he was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Craig Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. William C. Mooney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park.
Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, POB 3064, St. Augustine, 32085.
Survivors include one daughter, Caroline Skelton, St. Augustine; one brother, Vincenso Moro, Gallarate, Italy; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Marie Seniors
Marie Loleta Seniors, 96, 119 Moore St., died May 24, 1997, at Flagler Hospital West. She was born in New Smyrna Beach, and she had resided here for over 70 years. She was a member of St. Paul AME Church, serving in Choir No. 1 and as a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Lookout Club, Willing Workers Club, Flagler Hospital Auxiliary, and she was a retired teacher, having taught in the public school system for more than 52 years.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul AME Church, with the Rev. F.D. Richardson Jr., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the hour of services.
Survivors include a daughter, J. Gwendolyn Waitman; one son, William C. Seniors, both of St. Augustine; eight grandchildren and other relatives.

Louise Dorough
Louise P. Dorough, 70, Fort Myers, formerly of St. Augustine, died May 25, 1997, in Fort Myers. She was born in Quitman, Ga., and she was a member of Anastasia Baptist Church. Mrs. Dorough resided in St. Augustine for 42 years, and recently moved to Fort Myers.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Anastasia Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ron Moore, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park. Friends may call at Craig chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Survivors include one daughter, Arlia Dorough, Fort Myers; and a son, George Dixon Dorough III, Claremont, Calif.

Thelma Green
Thelma Green, 79, St. Augustine, died May 27, 1997, at Flagler Hospital West. She was born in Baltimore, Md., and she had resided here since 1956. She owned and operated Haley's Court from 1956-79, and she was a member of Cathedral Parish.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Craig Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Jeremiah Lambe, associate pastor of Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine, officiating. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday. Friends may call at Craig chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Flowers are gratefully accepted, or those wishing may make a contribution, in her memory, to the Samantha Wilson Senior Citizens Home Auxiliary.
Survivors include one daughter, Dot Maronel, St. Augustine; a son, William J. Green Jr., Orange Park; five grandchildren and and six great-grandchildren.

George King
Graveside services for George Broome King, 54, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery, Jacksonville, Gate 5, with Dr. Thomas Are of the South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church officiating. Those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to ARC, 1204 ARC Drive, St. Augustine, 32095.
Mr. King died May 25, 1997.

Abraham Porter
Abraham Porter, 82, 1001 Volusia St., died May 23, 1997, at Flagler Hospital West. He was a longtime self-employed farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Porter, St. Augustine; six sons, James Daniels Sr., Cocoa, Johnny Daniels, Lamar Daniels, C.L. Daniels, all of St. Augustine, Willie Daniels, Leavenworth, Kan., John Daniels, Starke; five daughters, Ella Daniels, Mary Alice Daniels, Sharon Bell, Brenda Daniels, all of Cocoa, Mary Lee Jackson, Taffy Daniels, both of St. Augustine; 44 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Arrangements will be announced by Coleman's Mortuary.
