Graveside services for Patricia Lois Ureel, 73, West Linn, Ore., who died Aug. 10, 1997, in West Linn, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at San Lorenzo Cemetery, with the Rev. Jeremiah Lambe, associate pastor of Cathedral Parish, officiating.
Funeral services were held in West Linn.

Norton Baskin
Funeral services for Norton Sanford Baskin, 95, Ponte Vedra Beach and formerly of St. Augustine, who died Aug. 15, 1997, at Vicar's Health Care Center will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Craig Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery in Island Grove, Fla., near Cross Creek. Friends may call at Craig Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. today.

Leon Desvousges
Leon Joseph Desvousges Jr., 85, St. Augustine, died Aug. 17, 1997, at Ponce de Leon Care Center. He served in the Navy during World War II, and retired from the St. Augustine Fire Department after 32 years of service. He was a member of San Sebastian Catholic Church.
Prayers will be said at Craig Funeral Home chapel on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at San Sebastian Catholic Church on Wednesday.
Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, 32257, or to San Sebastian Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Yelvington Desvousges.
Survivors include two sons, Leon J. Desvousges III, Las Vegas, Nev., George Desvousges, Jacksonville; three stepsons, Virgil B. and John M. Mathis, Hastings, Bill Mathis, Interlachen; one stepdaughter, Ann Mathis Doak, Gainesville; two sisters, Thelma Coyne and Mary Evelyn Stevens, St. Augustine; two brothers, John Desvousges, St. Augustine, and Herman L. Desvousges, Toms River, N.J.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Phil D. Beall
Phil D. Beall, 73, died Aug. 18, 1997, at his home. Arrangements will be announced by Craig Funeral Home.

Leon Desvousges
Funeral services for Leon Joseph Desvousges, Jr., 85, St. Augustine, who died Aug. 17, 1997, will be held at San Sebastian Catholic Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Jeremiah Lambe officiating. Prayers will be said at Craig Funeral Home chapel at 7 p.m. today.
Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, 32257, or to San Sebastian Catholic Church.

Phil Beall
Phil D. Beall, 73, St. Augustine, died Aug. 18, 1997, at his home. He was born in Hedgesville, W. Va., and he was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, retiring as a master sergeant. During his service, he received 22 individual U.S. Army medals, including the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts and the Department of Defense Joint Commendation Award for humanitarian effort while stationed in Africa.
Beall served as principal of an elementary school in Berkeley County, W. Va., and taught for one year at West Virginia University, where he received a bachelor of arts degree in economics, and for four years at Potomac State.
He served as executive director of the St. Augustine YMCA for 24 years, retiring in 1989. He was a driving force behind the founding of the St. Johns County Sports Hall of Fame. He was the president and founder of the Sports Club, founder of the St. Augustine Stamp Club, and a member of the St. Johns County Recreation Board. Last year he founded the St. Augustine-St. Johns County Sports Club Scholarship Fund.
Beall was also a former member of the Kiwanis Club and of the Elks Lodge No. 289.
Graveside services were held today at 2 p.m. at San Lorenzo Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined.
Those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to the St. Augustine-St. Johns County Sports Club Scholarship Fund, c/o Clifton Hussey, 68 Willow Drive, St. Augustine Beach, 32084.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; three daughters, Frances Beall, St. Augustine, Molly Gorny, Houston, Texas, and Anne Beall of Tampa; a son, Ted Beall, Melbourne; a sister, Eleanore Perkins; a brother, Campbell Beall, Martinsburg, W.Va., and four grandchildren.

Marie Duzant
Funeral services for Marie Uranie Duzant, 76, St. Augustine, who died Aug. 18, 1997, at Flagler Hospital West, will be held Friday at 9 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Friends may call at Craig Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Prayers will be said at 6 p.m.

Myrtle Floyd
Myrtle M. Floyd, 74, St. Augustine, died Aug. 19, 1997, at her home. She was born in Alexandria, Va., and had resided in St. Augustine for the past 41 years. She was retired from The St. Augustine Record, where she worked for 26 years. She was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church and a former volunteer with the Flagler Hospital Auxiliary.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Presbyterian Church with Dr. John Hunter, pastor, officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in her memory, to the American Lung Association, P.O. Box 11117, Jacksonville, 32239.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda F. Branchett, Deltona; Pattie F. Bilbao, Candler, N.C.; and three grandchildren.

Lawrence Hartley
Lawrence O. "Larry" Hartley, 69, St. Augustine, died Aug. 19, 1997, at Ponce de Leon Care Center following a lengthy illness. A native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine, he was the son of the late Alvin J. and Maude Davis Hartley.
He attended St. Johns County schools and the University of Florida, and played professional baseball for several organizations. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the U.S. Army. After his discharge, he joined the St. Augustine Police Department and retired, after almost 30 thirty years, as a lieutenant. During his retirement, he was an elected St. Johns County Commissioner, serving from 1986 until 1990.
Prior to his illness he was an active member of the Ancient City Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, greeter, usher, and bank messenger. He was also a member of the Adult III Sunday School Department. He held memberships in the St. Augustine-St. Johns County Sports Club, the St. Augustine South Homeowners Association, and was a former member of the St. Augustine Morning Kiwanis Club.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Ancient City Baptist Church, with Rev. Frank Northcutt, pastor, officiating. Friends may call on the family at the church from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park Cemetery.
Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make contributions, in his memory, to the Ancient City Baptist Church, 27 Sevilla St., St. Augustine, 32084 or to the St. Augustine High School Baseball Program, P.O. Box 4574, St. Augustine, 32085, or to a favorite charity.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Hartley, St. Augustine; two sons, Michael L. Hartley, Starke, and Gregory A. Hartley, St. Augustine; three sisters, Eileen H. Barclay, Vada H. Kovolski, and Shirley H. Cooksey, all of St. Augustine; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

William Hollis
William Henry Hollis, 76, St. Augustine, died Aug. 8, 1997, at his home. He was born in Rock Hill, S.C., and lived in Daytona Beach from 1959 until 1989, when he moved to St. Augustine. He was a retired truck driver for Martin Paving, Daytona Beach, and an Army veteran of World War II. He participated in the invasion of Normandy and also served during the Battle of the Bulge.
Funeral services were held yesterday at Shady Rest Cemetery, Holly Hill, with the Rev. Johnny Pruitt officiating. Dale Woodward Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include three stepsons, David Rush, Jacksonville, Alan Rush, Holly Hill, and Robert Bruce, New Smyrna Beach; one stepdaughter, Barbara Czyprena, Holly Hill; and eight step-grandchildren.

Andrea Savitch
Memorial services for Andrea Schwing Savitch, 25, St. Augustine, who died Aug. 18, 1997, at Flagler Hospital, were held at 2 p.m. today at Craig Funeral Home, with the Rev. Smiley Sturgis, pastor of Good News Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Kenneth Vogel
Kenneth A. Vogel, 13, St. Augustine, died Aug. 18, 1997. He was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., and had resided in St. Augustine for the past 2« years. He was a student at Switzerland Point Middle School and he was a member of Family Worship Center.
Graveside services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday at St. Augustine Memorial Park with Philip Cochran Jr., pastor of Family Worship Center, officiating.
He is survived by his parents, Dawn E. and Thomas E. Vogel, St. Augustine; one brother, Keith James Vogel, St. Augustine; paternal grandmother, Minnie Christine Vogel, Grand Haven, Mich.; maternal grandmother, Lonnie Sivertsen, Grand Rapids

Miriam Dusenbery
Miriam Cain Dusenbery, 73, St. Augustine, died Aug. 20, 1997, at Hospice's Earl B. Hadlow Center, Jacksonville. She was born in Lima, Ohio, and had resided in St. Augustine since 1989. She was a professor at South Illinois University at Edwardsville, Ill. She was a member of the Catholic Church, Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and the Royal Neighbors of America.
A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine, Rev. Father Robert Baker, pastor of the Christ the King Catholic Church, officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in her memory, to the Earl B. Hadlow Center, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, 32257.
She is survived by three sons, William Donald Dusenbery, Fairview Heights, Ill., Michael Alvin Dusenbery, Monee, Ill., and Robert Kenneth Dusenbery, St. Augustine; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Myrtle Floyd
Memorial services for Myrtle M. Kenneth Fowler
Kenneth Andre Fowler, 42, died Aug. 7, 1997, in Jacksonville, where he was born.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mount Olive Memorial Park, Jacksonville, with the Rev. F.D. Richardson, Jr., officiating. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home today from 6 to 8 p.m.
He is survived by one sister, Denise Fowler, Jacksonville; an uncle, the Rev. F.D. Richardson Jr., St. Augustine; and other relatives.

James Johnson
James A. (Jim) Johnson, 71, Crescent City, died Aug. 20, 1997, at his home. He was born in Concord, N.H., and moved to Crescent City from St. Augustine 13 years ago. He was involved in military service for much of his life, and participated in World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Bashi-Ba-Zouks.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Ebenezer Lutheran Church with Rev. Milburn Franke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Johnson, Crescent City; three sons, Phillip Johnson and Charles Pomar, both of St. Augustine, Scott Johnson, Texas; a daughter, Madeline Saren, Texas; brothers, Richard (Dick) Johnson and Bob Johnson, both of New Hampshire; a sister, Alice Colby, New Hampshire; and ten grandchildren.

Sister Michael Joseph
Sister Michael Joseph Moran, SSJ, died Aug. 21, 1997, at Flagler Hospital. She was born in County Clare, Ireland, and was a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph.
Funeral services will be announced by Craig Funeral Home.

Carl Loos
Carl Otto Loos, 82, St. Augustine, died Aug. 19, 1997, at Flagler Hospital West. He was born in Milwaukee, Wis., and had resided in St. Augustine for the past six months. He retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of lieutenant colonel after 23 years of service and was a veteran of World War II. He was also retired from the Civil Service as well as the Burroughs Corporation.
Private graveside memorial services with military honors will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline Loos, St. Augustine; two daughters, Donna Scarpitti, St. Augustine, Cheri Bryan, Broomall, Pa.; one son, Kevin Loos, Hanover, Md.; 9 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Timothy White Sr.
Timothy Jay White Sr., 44, St. Augustine, died Aug. 20, 1997, at Flagler Hospital West. He was born in Detroit, Mich., and had resided in St. Augustine since 1970. He was a dry wall hanger in the construction business. He was of the Baptist faith.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Craig Funeral Home chapel.
He is survived by his mother, Billie Sieg, Elkton; one son, Timothy J. White Jr., Elkton; two sisters, Michelle Kriener, Carole Jones, both of St. Augustine; two brothers, Scott McCoy, William White, both of Elkton.

William Bertles
William Horace Bertles, 81, of St. Augustine, died Aug. 20, 1997, at Flagler Hospital East. He was born in Philadelphia, and had resided in St. Augustine since the 1980s. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired civil service Frankfort Armory technician.
Funeral services will be announced by Craig Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn; four daughters, Patricia, Joyce, Beverly and Penny; one son, Ricky; one half-brother, Charles Bertles; and several grandchildren.

Miriam Dusenbery

Ricardo Edralin
Funeral services for Ricardo Edralin, 74, of St. Augustine, who died Aug. 12, 1997, were held Aug. 15, 1997, at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens, Jacksonville. He was a retired land surveyor and past president of the Fil-Am Club of Jacksonville. He also served as first lieutenant with the Philippine Army during World War II and the Korean War.
