Graveside services for Ida M. Sleet, 78, St. Augustine, who died Feb. 14, 1998, at her home, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at San Lorenzo Cemetery with the Rev. S. Dwight McQueen, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Craig Funeral Home is in charge.

John Berryman
John Coles Berryman, 79, St. Augustine, died Feb. 16, 1998, at Flagler Hospital West. He was born in St. Ives Cornwall, England, and he had resided in St. Augustine since 1976. He was a retired machine operator for Ford Motor Company, and he was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be announced.
Survivors include one daughter, Diane Gribble, St. Augustine; a son, Ronald Collier, Westland, Mich.; one sister, Kitty Lindstrom, Port Richey; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Craig Funeral Home is in charge.

Marie Brubaker
Marie Emma Brubaker, 93, St. Augustine, died Feb. 15, 1998, at the Palatka Health Care Center. She was born in Williamsport, Pa., and she had resided in St. Augustine for 36 years, moving there from Federal Point. She was a member of San Sebastian Catholic Church while residing in St. Augustine. Upon returning to Putnam County, she became a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Monica's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Finlay officiating. Burial will be in St. Monica's Cemetery. Friends may call at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. A vigil service begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.
Flowers are gratefully accepted, or those wishing may make a contribution, in her memory, to a favorite charity.
Mrs. Brubaker was the wife of the late A. Quentin Brubaker.
Survivors include two sons, Gilroy P. Brubaker, Lakeland, Earl C. Brubaker, Federal Point; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Peter Francke
Peter Erik Francke, 92, St. Augustine, died Feb. 15, 1998, at Flagler Hospital East. He was born in Stockholm, Sweden, and he had resided here since 1995. He owned and operated his own general contracting business in Worcester, Mass., and he was a master chess player. He was of the Lutheran faith.
Funeral services and burial will be in Worcester. Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to a favorite charity.
Survivors include two daughters, Ellen Francke, Marylin Cote, both of St. Augustine; a son, Peter R. Francke, Eastham, Mass.; one sister, Lisa Sjobohm, Worcester; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Craig Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Johnnie Gordon
Johnnie "Buddy" Gordon, 74, 8 N. Whitney St., died Feb. 14, 1998, at his home. Arrangements will be announced by Chase and Son Funeral Home.

Robert Pasco
Robert "Bubba" Pasco, 78, 791 W. King St., died Feb. 11, 1998, in Flagler Hospital West. He was born Feb. 11 in St. Augustine, and he returned here in 1970. He was a member of St. Mary's Baptist Church, and he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of Alton Green Post 194 American Legion.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Baptist Church, with the Rev. Isaac Davis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 9 p.m., today, and at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of services.
Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Pasco; a daughter, Jeanette King, Westberry, N.Y.; stepdaughters, Pury Lee Corowder, Spring Valley, N.Y., Jimmie Arline; six grandchildren and other relatives.

Darlene Stembridge
Darlene A. Stembridge, 48, St. Augustine, died Feb. 15, 1998, at Flagler Hospital East. She was born in Fernandina Beach, and she had resided in St. Augustine most of her life. She was a Real Estate broker.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Craig Funeral Home chapel, with the with the Rev. Frank Northcutt, pastor of Ancient City Baptist Church, officiating.
Survivors include a son, Karl Deuschle, St. Augustine; her mother and stepfather, Jeanette and Clarence McSwain, Conyers, Ga.; and two sisters, Angela Young and Sylvia Smallwood, both of St. Augustine.

Albert Hayden
Albert P. Hayden, 65, St. Augustine, died Feb. 16, 1998, at his home. He was born in Worcester, Mass., and he had resided in Orange, Conn., before moving to St. Augustine in 1992. He worked for 40 years with Peterson Engineering Company, Milord, Conn., and he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Momauquin Masonic Lodge No. 138, East Haven, Conn., Scottish Rites and the Milford Shrine Club.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Mack.
Survivors include his wife, Elinor, St. Augustine; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Robert McWeeney, North Haven, Conn., Brenda and Stephen DeLieto, Meriden, Conn.; three brothers, Charles Hayden, Fort Myers, Robert Hayden, Branford, Conn., Donald Hayden, Hamden, Conn.; and two grandchildren, Stephen and Sarah McWeeney.
Private services are planned.

Charnelle McCauley
Charnelle Joe McCauley, 72, St. Augustine, died Feb. 15, 1998, in St. Augustine. He was born in Trenten, Fla., and he was a retired electrical contractor. He was a graduate of Landon High School and a member of the Landon High School Alumni Association. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army; and he was a past commander of American Legion Post No. 88 and a member of the Mandarin Lodge No. 343, F&AM.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday at the chapel of the George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., S., Jacksonville, with the Rev. S. Dwight McQueen, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, St. Augustine, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, with Masonic rites at graveside conducted by Mandarin Lodge No. 343, F&AM.
Friends may call at the funeral home chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Mitchell McCauley, St. Augustine; two sons, David J. McCauley, Ponte Vedra Beach, Kenneth D. McCauley, Jacksonville; a sister, Betty Voncile Dove, Sparks, Ga.; two brothers, Richard P. McCauley, St. Augustine, Jack C. McCauley, Fort Lauderdale; and five grandchildren.

Harold R. Sheldon
Harold Robert Sheldon, 76, St. Augustine, died Feb. 16, 1998, in St. Luke's Hospital, Jacksonville. He was a native of Colorado, and he retired from NCR after 30 years. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea, having served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, St. Augustine; three daughters and six grandchildren.
Burial will be at a later date in Lee Memorial Park, Fort Myers.
Helm Funeral Home, Green Cove Springs, is in charge.

Joe Eames
Joe C. Eames, 69, Mineral City, Ohio, formerly of St. Augustine, died Feb. 17, 1998, at his home. He was born in Berryville, Ark., and he had resided in Mineral City since 1969. He was a former insurance and Watkins salesman, and he had also been a lake ranger for Atwood Lake and a bus driver for Tusky Valley schools. He'd also owned and operated several businesses in Mineral City. He was a member of St. Paul's Community Church, Mineral City, and of the Caldwell Lodge No. 330, F&AM, Bolivar, Ohio. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Korea.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gordon Funeral Home, Mineral City, with the Rev. Elden A. Smith officiating. Burial will be in New Cumberland Cemetery.
Those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to the American Heart Association or to the Tusc. County Humane Society.
Survivors include his wife, Laura J. Eames, with whom he would have celebrated his 47th wedding anniversary March 17; a daughter, Lori Schwartz, Dover, Ohio; three sons, Mark and Keith Eames, both of Dover, Bart Eames, Mineral City; and one granddaughter.

Ernest Hendricks
Ernest L. Hendricks, 88, Caswell Beach, N.C., died Feb. 3, 1998, at his home, following a long illness. He was born in St. Augustine, and he was a 1931 graduate of the University of Florida, earning a degree in civil engineering. He worked intermittently during the Depression for the Florida Road Department until 1935, when he was offered a job with the U.S. Geological Survey. He began his career with the Florida Water Resources office in Tallahassee, and worked his way up to the title of chief hydrologist, being appointed to that post in 1966 and serving in that capacity until his retirement.
Survivors include one son, Leroy; two daughters, Laurel Lee Cooley, Hope Bacon; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Alexander Rieger
Alexander T. Rieger, 71, died Feb. 15, 1998. He was born in Bronx, N.Y., and he lived in St. Augustine for two years, moving here from Fort Myers.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the chapel of the Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, with the Rev. Dick Parker officiating. Friends may call at the chapel from 2 p.m. Friday.
Survivors include his wife, Minerva Rieger; daughters, Jann (Mrs. Richard) Loderhose, St. Augustine, Heidi (Mrs. Gordon) Graham, Sunapee, N.H., Kristen (Mrs. David) Emeric, Cape Coral; sisters, Rose Parante, Columbia, S.C., Ella Howell, Southern California; a brother, Anthony Rieger, Bronx; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Edith Walker
Edith Louise Walker, 78, Palatka, died Feb. 17, 1998, at the Putnam Medical Center, Palatka, following a long illness. She was born in Nashville, Ga., and she moved to this area from Nashville nearly 50 years ago, first settling in Hastings and then moving to Palatka 40 years ago.
Funeral services were to be held at 3 p.m. today at Masters Funeral Home, Palatka, with Pastor Charlie Rabun officiating. Burial followed in Palatka Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Walker was the grandmother of the late David Prevatt.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Aaron J. Walker, Palatka; two daughters, Betty (Mrs. Bill) Bocz, Interlachen, Margie Prevatt, St. Augustine; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Johnnie Gordon
Johnnie Gordon, 75, 8 N. Whitney St., died Feb. 14, 1998, at his home. He was a lifelong resident of St. Augustine, and he was retired from McCrory's. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy, and he received several honors for his service.
Funeral services were to be held at 1 p.m. today at the Chase Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. F.D. Richardson Jr., pastor of St. Paul AME Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park.
Survivors include several cousins and other relatives.
Chase and Son Funeral Home is in charge.

Robert Meems
Robert K. Meems, 60, 87 Washington St., died Feb. 19, 1998, at the Ponce de Leon Care Center. He was born in Queens, N.Y., and he moved here from Elkton in March. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and he was the office manager for Sunstate Travel and Real Estate in St. Augustine.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Croyle Funeral Home, with Father Terry Smith officiating. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery. Friends may call at Croyle Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors include one brother, William Meems, Staton Island, N.Y.

Robert Old
Robert Howard Old, 74, St. Augustine, died Feb. 19, 1998, at Flagler Hospital West. He was born in Flushing, N.Y., and he had resided here for the past 22 years. He was a retired meat salesman, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 37, and he was of the Catholic faith.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Friends are invited to express their condolences with phone calls and visits to the Old home.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth L. Old, St. Augustine; two daughters, Susan Elizabeth Jackson, Kalispell, Mont., Kathleen Allyson Old, St. Augustine; three sons, William Reed, Los Angeles, Calif., Robert Scott Old, Portland, Va., Christopher Robin Old, Kokomo, Ind.; and four grandchildren.
