Doradee Purcell
Doradee Purcell, 92, St. Augustine, died May 14, 1998, at her home. She was born in Clovis, N.M., and she had resided in St. Augustine since 1917. She was a lifelong member of Ancient City Baptist Church, a charter member of the Daughters of the Confederacy and PEO Sorority, and she was a former member of Las Adelfas Garden Club.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Craig Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frank Northcutt, pastor of Ancient City Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery. Friends may call at Craig chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Purcell was preceded in death by her husband, John Purcell Sr., and her son, John Purcell Jr.
Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth Donovan, St. Augustine; a daughter-in-law, Michelle Purcell; five grandchildren, David, Julia and Martin Zubero, Lauren and Anne Purcell; and two great-grandchildren.

Paul Ray Jr.
Paul J. Ray Jr., 66, died May 7, 1998, in Altamonte Springs. He was born in St. Augustine, and he graduated from St. Joseph Academy. He served in the Florida National Guard, and he was retired from the real estate business.
He was the son of Lorene Colee Thomas, St. Augustine, and the late Paul Ray.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Ray, Altamonte Springs; five children, Paul Ray II, New Port Richey, Michael Ray, Greenville, Ga., Courtney Ray, Washington state, Amber Adario, Hobe Sound, Velvet Ray, Spring Hill; two stepsons, Jeff Rands, Orlando, Dean Rands, Tampa; and three brothers, Maurice Ray, Altamonte Springs, Don Ray, New York City, Les Thomas, St. Augustine.
Memorial services were held in Orlando.
Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to the St. Joseph Academy Building Fund, 155 SR 207, St. Augustine, 32095.

James Baker
James Harold Baker, 57, born in Haydenburg, Tenn., went to be with Jesus on May 12, 1998. He had resided in St. Augustine since 1961. He was owner of Baker Pest Control and All Precious and Pleasant Riches. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, having served as a deacon and adult Sunday school teacher.
He served for four years on active duty in the U.S. Navy from 1958-61.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at Calvary Baptist Church, 110 Masters Drive, with the Rev. Mark Conrad and Dr. Armando Silverio officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to the Building Fund of Calvary Baptist Church, 110 Masters Drive, St. Augustine, 32095.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Patricia S. Baker; a daughter, Cathy B. Annie Calloway-Willis
Annie Pearl Calloway-Willis, 63, Spuds, died May 10, 1998, at Flagler Hospital East, following a brief illness. She was born in Dothan, Ala., and she had resided in the Hastings/Spuds area for over 45 years. She was a member of the Christ Witness Church of the Almighty God Inc., where she served on the Mothers' Board.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Christ Witness Church of the Almighty God Inc., 913 Reid St., Palatka, with Elder Samuel L. Green, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Pattersonville Cemetery, East Palatka.
Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. today until the hour of services.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Izeal Willis Sr., Spuds; a son, Izeal Jr., Satsuma; daughters, Tamarsha Gail Smith, Hartford, Conn., Deborah Lambert, Peggy Edwards, both of St. Augustine, Terrisetta Torrance, Diane Green, both of Palatka, Hazel Wesley, Spuds, Ruby Fairley, Tallahassee, Tammie Smith, Orange Mills; a sister, Lillian Dean, Central Islip, N.Y.; two brothers, Ike Calloway, Sebring, James Calloway, Spuds; 27 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Mattie Sue Capo, 94, Elkton, who died May 13, 1998, at the Ponce de Leon Care Center, will be held at 10 a.m. today at San Lorenzo Cemetery, with the Rev. Dell Cook, associate pastor of Ancient City Baptist Church, officiating.

Cyrus L. Gover
Cyrus Lorenzo Gover, 83, St. Augustine, died May 13, 1998, at his home. He was born in Stanford, Ky., and was a former resident of Riverside, Calif., having moved to St. Augustine in 1997. He was the retired principal of the California School for the Deaf at Riverside.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Craig Funeral Home, with Glenn Logston officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park. He is survived by his sister, Netting Flaming, St. Augustine; half-brother, David Gover, Greenville, S.C.; a niece and a nephew.

Adrienne Linton
Adrienne Elianecq Linton, 75, St. Augustine, died May 14, 1998, at Flagler Hospital East. She was born in Nice, France, and she had resided in St. Augustine since 1981. She was of the Catholic faith.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Craig Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jeremiah Lambe, associate pastor of the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine, officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in her memory, to Hospice Northeast, 1400 Old Dixie Hwy., Suite A, St. Augustine, 32086.
Survivors include her husband, John B. Linton, St. Augustine; a daughter, Jacqueline Renteux, Brussels, Belgium; and four grandchildren.

Jose Pereira
Jose Pereira, 93, St. Augustine, died May 13, 1998, at the St. Johns Health Care. He was born in Portugal, and he came to St. Augustine eight years ago from New Bedford, Mass. He was a retired clothing business owner, and he was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Norma P. Gillis, St. Augustine; and one granddaughter, Elise S. O'Kane, New Hampshire.
Beverly Hills Chapel, Beverly Hills, Fla., is in charge.

Charles Rohmann Sr.
Charles Marvin Rohmann Sr., 66, St. Augustine, died May 15, 1998, at his home. He was born in St. Louis, Mo., and had lived in St. Augustine since 1995. He was a truck driver, having worked through KLLM of Jackson, Miss., for more than 18 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Memorial services will be announced by Craig Funeral Home. Flowers are gratefully accepted, or those wishing may make a contribution in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 125 Diesel Road, St. Augustine, Fla. 32086.
He is survived by his wife, Annie; three daughters, Anita Talley, Irondale, Mo., Linda Gentry, St. Augustine, and Debra Davenport, Meridian, Miss.; five sons, Raymond Franklin, St. Augustine, Terry Rohmann, Atlanta, Richard and Michael Rohmann, both of St. Louis, Mo., and Charles Rohmann III, Meridian, Miss.; five sisters, Roylene Richter, Troy, Mo., Fridaia Cody, DeSoto, Miss., Dorothy Hahn, Virginia Warner and Marcelene White, all of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers, Larry and Virgil Rohmann, both of Binghampton, N.Y.; 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Walter Runnion
Walter R. Runnion, 63, St. Augustine, died May 8, 1998, at Flagler Hospital. He was born in San Fernando, Calif., and lived in New Jersey for 14 years before moving to Florida in 1994.
No service is planned. Those wishing may make a contribution in his memory to the American Diabetic Association, 8384-10 Baymeadows Road, Jacksonville, Fla. 32256.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Sundgard Vautier Runnion, St. Augustine; a son, David C. Runnion, California; and one grandson.

Catherine Brown
Catherine Brown, 55, Lovett Street, died May 13, 1998, at Flagler Hospital East. A native of Blakely, Ga., she had lived in St. Augustine since early childhood. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and sang in its choir.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Sidney Hardy, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home Monday, 5-9 p.m., and at the church Tuesday from noon until the hour of service.
She is survived by her guardian, Willie Spates, St. Augustine; daughters, Cynthia Greer, St. Augustine, Regina Hall, Thomasville, Ga., and Tonya Daniel, St. Augustine; sons, Henry Greer, James Greet, Kenneth Walker, Leroy Brown, all of St. Augustine, and Lawrence Greer, Bradenton; father, John Greer, Bradenton; brothers, J.D. Flowers, Jacksonville, and Eddie Greer, Jacksonville; sister, Hattie Greer, Bradenton; 18 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and other relatives.

Funeral services for Cyrus L. Gover, 84, St. Augustine Beach, who died May 13, 1998, at his home, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Craig Funeral Home chapel with Glenn Logston, minister of the Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park. Friends may call at Craig chapel from 4 to 6 p.m. today.

George Kabus
Memorial services for George F. Kabus, 58, St. Augustine, who died May 9, 1998, at Flagler Hospital West, will be held at 9 a.m. May 23 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jeremiah Lambe officiating.

M.C. Morgan
M.C. Morgan, 64, St. Augustine, died May 6, 1998, at Flagler Hospital East. He was born in Jacksonville, and he had resided here since 1990. He was a retired captain with Eastern Airlines, serving with the airlines for 33 years; and he also served as an aviator in the U.S. Marine Corps with the rank of captain. He was past tournament chairman and member of the Men's Golf Association of Marsh Creek Country Club, and he served on the board of directors of the St. Johns County Audubon Society. His work on wild bird photography, with his wife, Amanda, has been featured in several national publications.
Memorial services will held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Craig Funeral Home, with the Rev. Seamus O'Flynn, pastor of St. Anastasia Catholic Church, officiating.

Edna Earle Brown, 81, St. Augustine, died May 15, 1998, at her home. She was a native of Chattanooga, Tenn., and she was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at East Chapel, Chattanooga Funeral Home, with Bill Dedmond officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood South Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Brown was the wife of the late William Lee Brown.
Survivors include two daughters, Norma Jean Hardy, Ringgold, Ga., Barbara Lee Campbell, St. Augustine; a stepdaughter, Doris Barfield, Mapleton, Ga.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Edith Browning
Edith W. Browning, 80, Palatka, died May 16, 1998, at Putnam Community Medical Center, following a long illness. She was a lifelong resident of Palatka, and she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Palatka and formerly worked with Wilson Cypress Company and with Walton and Walton Law Office in Palatka.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home, Palatka, with the Rev. Charles T. Rabun Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Etoniah Cemetery, Bardin. Friends may call at the Johnson-Overturf chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Sam S. Browning II, Palatka; two sons, Col. Sam S. Browning III, St. Augustine, Julian A. Browning, Palatka; a daughter, Frances Griswell, Santa Barbara, Calif.; two sisters, Josephine Mizell, Orange Park, Betty Galunas, Island Pont, Vt.; one brother, W.A. ``Billy'' Williams, East Palatka; and three grandchildren.

Gerald Hammond
Gerald Thaddeus Hammond Sr., 58, 6 Rollins Ave., died May 14, 1998, at his home, following an extended illness. He was a St. Augustine native and attended local schools, and he was a former member of the FAMU Marching 100 of Florida A&M University, Tallahassee. He was a member of St. Paul AME Church, serving on the choir and on the steward board.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul AME Church, with the Rev. F.D. Richardson Jr., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, and from 11 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of services.
Survivors include his wife, Lizena F. Hammond; four sons, Gerald G., St. Augustine, Thaddeus D., Jacksonville, Joseph E. and Elzer R., St. Augustine; three daughters, Sylvia Lewis, Lavern King, Taushia L. Hammond, all of St. Augustine; one brother, Verle Hammond, McLean, Va.; three sisters, Sylvia Stallworth, Sanford, Blanche R. Hammond, Washington, D.C., Merryce Farmer, St. Augustine; and other relatives.
