Roy Hagan Jr.
Roy Lee Hagan Jr., 63, Hastings, died Nov. 9, 1997, in Perry. He was born in St. Augustine, and he was a lifelong resident of St. Johns County. He had served in the U.S. Army, and he was a former commercial fisherman. He was a member of the DuPont Center Hunting Club and the Perry Hunting Club.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Moultrie Cemetery, with the Rev. Alton J. Lister, pastor of the First Apostolic Church, officiating. Friends may call at the chapel of Craig Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Survivors include four daughters, Debra H. Dillinger, Johnna Edwards, Cheryl H. Pacetti, Frances H. Schmermund, all of St. Augustine; two sons, Ronnie Hagan, Roy Lee Hagan III, both of Hastings; four sisters, Louise Cheshire, Paula Hagan, both of St. Augustine, Linda Courtney, Orlando, Mildred Hagan; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Savannah Hines
Savannah Hines, Palatka, died early today at Flagler Hospital West, following a long illness. She was a former member of the Church of Calvary.
Survivors include her husband, Clyde Jones, Palatka; two daughters, Sherrie N. Fuller, Elkton, Patricia A. Hines, Palatka; and a sister, Mary Collay, Palatka.
Arrangements will be announced by Coleman's Mortuary.

George H. Rice Jr.
George Henry "Sonny" Rice Jr., 22 Bridge St., died Nov. 8, 1997, at his home. He moved here 35 years ago. He was a self-employed draftsman.
Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Rice Harris Boyd, King George, Va.; a sister, Marie Rice Crawley, Kinston, N.C.; two brothers, John B. and Grover Rice, St. Augustine; and one granddaughter.
Private services are planned. Flowers are gratefully declined, and those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to St. Francis House.
Croyle Funeral Home is in charge.

Joseph Boothe
Joseph Boothe, 73, St. Augustine, died Nov. 11, 1997, at Flagler Hospital West. Flowers are gratefully accepted, or those wishing may make a donation, in his memory, to the American Kidney Foundation, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, Md. 20852.
Arrangements will be announced by Craig Funeral Home.

Flora Chambers
Flora Preston Chambers, 99, 108 Cerro St., died Nov. 8, 1997, at Flagler Hospital West. She was born in Dell, Ga., and she had resided here for the past 25 years. She was a retired LPN, having worked in New York and Philadelphia before returning to St. Augustine about 25 years ago. She was a 50-plus member of the First Baptist Church, and she was a member of the Amrylla Birthday Club.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. A.J. Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park. Friends may call at Chase and Son Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
Survivors include two nephews, Robert Fennell Jr., Brooklyn, N.Y., Woodrow Fennell, Sacramento, Calif.; a niece, Mary Brooks, Jacksonville; and other relatives.

Frieda Schroeder
Frieda "Omi" Schroeder, 87, Bloomingdale, Ohio, formerly of Clifton, N.J., and St. Augustine, died Nov. 10, 1997, at Trinity Medical Center East, Steubenville, Ohio. She was born in Frankenberg, Germany, and she was the wife of the late Hans Bruno Schroeder. She was a member of the Bloomingdale Presbyterian Church, USA, and of the Independent Bible Church of St. Augustine, as well as the German-American Club in St. Augustine.
Funeral services will be held at 9:15 p.m. Thursday at Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, Ohio, with the Rev. Michael E. Bongart officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Memorial Park at a later date.
Survivors include a son, Hans J. Schroeder, Bloomingdale; a brother, Heini Dlenemann, Frankenberg; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

J. Morton Williams Sr.
J. Morton Williams Sr., 95, 252 Laguna Court, died Nov. 11, 1997, at his home. He was born in Charleston, S.C., and he moved to Tampa in 1933. During the 60 years of his retailing career, he operated numerous stores and leased departments in the state, and a detailed record of his business life is spotlighted at the Florida State Museum in Tallahassee. Among his credits is pioneering the concept of coordinating women's fashion apparel, shoes and handbags.
After retiring, he lived, for a time, in Winter Haven and Daytona Beach, before moving to St. Augustine in 1985.
A private family observance will be held at a future date. In accordance with his wishes, his remains have been given to the University of Florida School of Medicine for study and education.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a contribution, in his memory, to EMMA's J. Morton Williams Sr. Young People's Music Education Fund, POB 860130, St. Augustine, 32086-0130.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa; three sons, Edward D., Holly Hill, Henry J., Winter Haven, Morton Jr., St. Augustine; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Henry D. Williams, and a sister, Anita Steinberg.

Elizabeth Adams
Elizabeth L. Adams, 71, St. Augustine, died Nov. 11, 1997, at Flagler Hospital East. She was born in Winder, Ga., and she came to St. Augustine in 1976 from Springfield, Mass. She graduated in 1963 from West Springfield Hospital Nursing Academy, and she was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse. She was an Army Air Force Veteran of World War II, and she was a member of VFW Auxiliary Post No. 8696, Palm Coast; and a chapter member of the Women's Memorial, Washington, D.C.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Haigh-Black Chapel, Daytona Beach, with Dr. Robert S. Smith, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, Daytona Beach, officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Robert; two sons, Robert K. Adams, San Diego, Calif., Dale N. Adams, Richmond, Va.; two daughters, Charlotte E. Nichols, Ormond Beach, Bobbie Jean Howell, Winston-Salem, N.C.; one sister, Frances Seagraves, Atlanta, Ga.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Haigh-Black Funeral Home, 103 E. International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach, is in charge of arrangements.

Scott Bass
Scott Douglas Bass, 41, died Nov. 11, 1997. He had resided in St. Augustine for 13 years.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Magnolia Cemetery, Orange Park, with the Rev. Stephen Peeples officiating. Friends may call at Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home, 127 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa P. Bass; a son, Zachary Scott Bass; daughter, Amanda Louise Bass; his mother, Hazel Bass; one brother, Mark Steven Bass; and sisters, Linda L. Dease, Brenda Gail Ritchey, Vickie Lynn Mays, Wendi Bass Hill.

Henry Gackstatter
Henry Francis Gackstatter, 82, St. Augustine, died Nov. 11, 1997, at the St. Augustine Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Watervliet, N.Y., and he was a retired therapy aide. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, and of the American Legion. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Graveside services were held today at Woodland Memorial Gardens, St. Petersburg.
He was the brother of the late Dorothy Muller.
Survivors include his children, Patricia Apuzzo, Kingston, N.Y., Aileen Gackstatter, Wappingers Falls, N.Y., Kenneth Gackstatter, Red Hook, N.Y., Peter Gackstatter, Illinois; sisters, Marie McHugh, Hopewell Junction, N.Y., Grace Zimmer, St. Augustine; brothers, William Gackstatter, Reddington Shores, Paul Gackstatter, Pawling, N.Y., James Gackstatter, St. Augustine.

Katherine Justice
Katherine Simpson Justice, 88, Tucker, Ga., died Nov. 11, 1997, in Blairsville, Ga. She was a Registered Nurse, and she was the wife of the late Frank Kimsey Justice. She had resided in St. Augustine for several years.
Survivors include one daughter, the Rev. Cecilia Justice Morgan, Tucker, Ga.; a son, Frank Kimsey Justice, Beaverton, Oregon; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Cochran Funeral Home, Blairsville, Ga., is in charge.

Mary Streeter
Memorial services for Mary Elizabeth Streeter, 71, Crescent Beach, who died Sept. 17, 1997 at her home, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Memorial Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Bert Saunders, associate pastor, officiating.

Joseph Boothe
The heavens are rejoicing as Joseph Boothe, age 73, beloved husband, precious father, wonderful grandfather and loving brother entered heaven's gates Nov. 11, 1997. He was born in Caretta, W.Va., and he had resided here since 1958. He was retired from Desco Marine, where he worked for 25 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II.
Awaiting to join him are his precious wife of 51 years, Gracie Boothe; his children, Terry and Sue Boothe, Frankie and Dennis Watts, Kathy and Warren McDonald, all of St. Augustine; and Jody and Anita Boothe, Ivanhoe, N.C.; one sister, Kathryn Cummins, Waynesville, N.C.; grandchildren, Gary, J.J., Missy, Roby, Holly, Stacy, Tish, Joe and Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Devin, Troy, Olivia, Deanna, Jasmine, Brenden, Courtney, Alyssa and Tyler; many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Craig Funeral Home chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jody Boothe and the Rev. Leroy Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Memorial Park.

Karen Boyd
Karen Louise Boyd, 42, St. Augustine, died Nov. 13, 1997, at Flagler Hospital. Arrangements will be announced by Craig Funeral Home.

Phillip Hall
Phillip Rathford Hall, 45, St. Augustine, died Nov. 11, 1997. He was co-owner and operator of the Jones and Hall Nursery on Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, and he was a member of the Southside Estates Baptist Church. He was a former member of the advisory board of the St. Augustine Technical Center Nursery Operations Committee.
Services will be held at 2 p.m Saturday at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, with the Rev. Daniel O. Davis officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville Memory Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Sue Hall; his mother, Leona Cooler Hall; two brothers, James and John Hall; two stepdaughters, Lynn Denslow, Beth Jones; two stepsons, Marc Fraley, Daniel Nemanich; six grandchildren and other relatives.

Richard Hurst Jr.
Richard Hurst Jr., 51, Green Cove Springs, died Nov. 10, 1997, at the Orange Park Medical Center. He was born in Glenwood, Ga., and he had resided in Green Cove Springs for 20 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Bethel Baptist Church, Pier Station, with the Rev. A.J. Houston officiating, assisted by the Rev. Abron Marshall, pastor. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Green Cove Springs. Friends may call at the church Saturday from noon until the hour of services.
Survivors include an aunt, Mary Johnson, Green Cove Springs; several brothers and sisters in Georgia, the Tobler family of St. Augustine and other relatives.

Burial will be in Armstrong Cemetery. Friends may call at Coleman's Mortuary Chapel from 4:30-8:30 p.m. today, and at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the hour of services.

Antonitta Sottile
Antonitta Sottile, 88, St. Augustine, died Nov. 12, 1997, at Flagler Hospital East. She was born in Castelbuono, Italy, and she had resided here since 1981. She was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, with the Rev. Seamus O'Flynn, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 8:30 a.m. Saturday until the hour of services.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Cafiero, West Chester, N.Y.; a son, Michael Natale Sottile, St. Augustine; one sister, Bridget Lauria, Dumont, N.J.; a brother, Joseph Carollo, Upland, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Vera Pickering
Vera Lee Redding Pickering, 44, St. Augustine, died Nov. 12, 1997, in Jacksonville. She was born in Pulaski, Tenn., and had lived here for the past 24 years.
Memorial services will be Monday at 5 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home chapel. A gathering in her memory will continue until 7 p.m. at Craig chapel.
She is survived by her husband, Nigel Pickering; a daughter, Blossom Redding, St. Augustine; her mother, Ruby Redding, Orlando; her father, Jack Redding, and stepmother, Jackie Redding, St. Augustine; and two brothers, Sam and John Dixie Redding, both of Orlando.
