Doyse L. Wright
Doyse Lavon Wright, 72, of Esto died Aug. 14 at Doctors Memorial Hospital in Bonifay. He was born May 8, 1935, in Geneva, Ala., to the late Jessie Lee and Josephine Blount Wright.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Adams Wright of Esto; a brother and sister-in-law, Jessie James and Linda Wright of Jamestown, Tenn.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille and Quillan Tindell of Frostproof, Joyce and Gene Miller of Leesburg; two sisters-in-law, Ouida Gilmore of Hartford, Ala., Mary Paul and husband, Julian, of Esto; brother-in-law, R.B. Adams of Esto; and three special great-great-nephews.
Funeral was Aug. 18 at Bethany Baptist Church with the Revs. Edward Barley and Erly D. Skipper offriciating.
Burial was in Esto Community Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home of Bonifay directing.

Timiethy Shackelford
Timiethy Shackelford, 42 of Bonifay, died August 19 at Doctors Memorial Hospital in Bonifay. He was a native of Washington County, of the Baptist faith and attended public school in Washington County. Survivors include his wife Shelly Shackelford of Bonifay; children, Sonora, Macie, and Cassie Shackelford all of Chipley; step-children, Alexa Everett, Madison Everett and Treion Chancey; brothers and sisters, Kenneth Roulhac and wife Cynthia of Tallahassee, Regina McKnight and husband Oscar, James Shackelford, Perry Shackelford and wife Patricia, all of Chipley, Fredrick Shackelford and wife Valeria of Tallahassee, Rose Everett and husband Alton of Sarasota, Allie Sims of Chicago, Ill. Yvonne and Reginald Shackelford of Winter Garden, two grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held August 25 at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Chipley with Rev. Price Wilson, officiating. Interment followed in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Chipley with Cooper Funeral Home directing.

Millie J. Pittman
Millie J. Pittman, 71 Jacob City, died August 16 at Bonifay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, after an extended illness. She was born June 22, 1936, to the late Flavours L. and Willie Jamaker Gray Pittman. She was a faithful member of St. Mary Baptist Church in Jacob City, having served as a choir member, usher and during her more active years. She was also affiliated with the community prayer band. Pittman also served many years as reporter of the Jacob News, Graceville News and the Jacobian. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by eight children and their spouses: Jamaker and Charles Sorey of Jacob City, Jaffice and Danice Donaldson and Delaney Pittman all of Tampa, Flavious and Jackie Pittman, Kyrel and Melvin Roulhac all of Marianna, Rachel Pittman of Dallas, Texas, Pamela Smith of Duquense, Penn. SSG Coretta Majors of Ft. Hood, Killeen, Texas; Three brothers; King S. Pittman, David Pittman and wife Christoria, all of Jacob City and Eugene Pittman and wife Hazel of Marianna; brother-in-law Willie C. Baldwin of Jacob City, like a son Obadiah White and wife Terry of Chipley; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; devoted cousin Earnestine Pittman of Atlanta, Ga and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held August 25 at the St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church in Jacob City with the Revs. George Bowers, Riley Henderson, Samuel Maxwell and Obadiah White officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton directing.

Cathy Popp
Cathy Margaret Strickland Schauf Popp, 55, of Deatsville, Ala., died May 9 at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, Ala. She was born May 5, 1952.
Popp was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Franklin Strickland, and a granddaughter, Carly Anne Schauf.
Survivors include her mother, Shirley Cooey Strickland of Westville; a son, Robert Schauf of Washington, D.C.; daughter, Sherri Schauf of Deatsville; two sisters, Janie Lolley of Bonifay and Sandy Jones of Crystal Springs, and one grandson.
Funeral was held May 14 at Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. Harry Collins officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Peel Funeral Home of Bonifay directing.

Ester Inez Baker
Ester Inez Wilcox Baker, 93, of Chipley died May 15 at Washington County Nursing Home in Chipley. She was born Nov. 15, 1913, in Caryville, daughter of Henry and Emma (Barlow) Wilcox.
A life-long resident of Chipley, she was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Willie Baker; a son, Neil Baker; two grandsons and one great-grandson.
Survivors include eight children, Royal Baker, Irene Lipford and husband, Jimmy, James Baker and wife, Vickie, Inell Reeves and husband, Charles, Illeta Tadlock and husband, Randy, all of Chipley, Lewis Baker and wife, Betty, of Macon, Ga., Inez Marie Lipford and Imogene Jordan, both of Marianna; 33 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held May 17 in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Kermit Soileau and Rev. Alan Biggs officiating.
Brown Funeral Home of Chipley was in charge of arrangements.

Charlene Davis
Charlene Sylvester Davis, 50, of Bonifay died May 14 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. She was born Nov. 29, 1956, in Tampa.
She was a homemaker and attended New Smyrna Church in Bonifay.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Sylvester Sr; husband, David Davis; and a brother, Charles Sylvester Jr.
Survivors include her mother, Barbara Fankhauser Sylvester; three daughters, Jessica Wynn of Bonifay; Angela Lewis and Christinha Keck, both of Brandon; a brother, David Sylvester of Brandon; two sisters, Debbie Williams of Chipley and Belinda Hall of Esto, and five grandchildren.
Memorial services were held May 18 at New Smyrna Church with the Rev. Michael Tadlock officiating.
Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home of Dothan was in charge of arrangements.

William Rhodes
William Roy Rhodes of Chipley died May 13 at his home. He was born Sept. 13, 1953, in Detroit, Mich., to the late Raymond and Mary Irene Higgs Rhodes.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Juanita Yates Rhodes of Chipley; two stepsons, Michael Daughenbaugh of Tucson, Ariz., and Tony Hubbard of Fort Benning, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Katrina Hubbard of Hudson; two brothers, Jim Rhodes of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Dale Rhodes of Marianna; and a sister, Martha Oge of Vernon.
Funeral was held May 16 at Unity Baptist Church with the Revs. Burt Worthing and Lindsey Martin officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Peel Funeral Home of Bonifay directing.
