FITZGERALD - Friends of Janetta Caldwell Paulk, 80, of Fitzgerald will regret to learn of her death on Wednesday, October 9, 2002, in Charlotte, NC.
Mrs. Paulk was born on July 9, 1922, in Gay, GA, to the late Ralph N. Caldwell & Annie Funderburk Caldwell. She was the widow of Ethridge Paulk. Mrs. Paulk received her B.A. from Georgia Southern University and her master's degree from the University of Georgia. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma. Mrs. Paulk was a former school teacher and retired as the curriculum director for the Fitzgerald Public School System. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald. Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Linda Paulk of Charlotte, NC, and Ralph and Kay Paulk of Marietta; grandchildren, Todd Levi of Chattanooga, TN, Eric Paulk U.S. Army, Germany, Amy Baran of Bozeman, MT, and Matthew Paulk of Charlotte, NC; great-granddaughter, Katlyn Levi of Chattanooga, TN; sister, Dorothy Callahan of Griffin.

ALBANY - Ernest Lee "Skip" Racener, 80, of Albany passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2002, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Hall & Hall Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Thomas officiating.
Mr. Racener was a native of St. Louis, Mo., and had lived in Albany since 1976. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army Air Corp and the U.S. Air Force. He was a former P.O.W. and was retired from Civil Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover C. and Grace Petty Racener and his wife, Ruth E. Wade Racener.

ALBANY - Jonnie Dewayne Skidmore, 51, of Albany, formerly of Moultrie, died Wednesday, October 9, 2002, at his residence.
Memorial funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. today at New Covenant Church, Corner of Whiddon Mill Road and Upper Ty Ty Road in Tifton with the Rev. Mike Hobbs officiating.
A native of Moultrie, he had recently moved to Albany and was employed as a welder. He attended Heritage Church in Moultrie. He was a devoted Christian and was loved by all.
Survivors include his fiancée, Donna Autrey-Pollard of Albany; parents, Annie L. and Charles R. Alsobrook Sr. of Tifton; daughters, Beth Skidmore and Jennifer Skidmore, both of Moultire; brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Jana Alsobrook of Tifton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lynn and Randy Carmichael of Valdosta and Jackie and Ric Carmichael of Canton; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the residence of his parents, Annie L. and Charles Alsobrook at 2407 Diana Ave. in Tifton.

Carl F. Corbin Sr.
AMERICUS - Carl F. Corbin Sr., 80, of 906 Post Way died at Perfect Care shortly after noon on Thursday, October 10, 2002.
Graveside services will be conducted from Sunset Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m. today with Dr. Reed Crumbliss and the Rev. Damon Fountain officiating. Members of the Keystone Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church and employees of Glover Wholesale Company are requested to serve as honorary pallbearers.
Born April 12, 1922, in Colquitt County, he was a son of the late Frank B. Corbin and Letha Moree Corbin. His wife, Edna English Corbin, preceded him in death on March 15, 2001.
Friends may call at the residence of Carl and Cindy Corbin, 122 East College Street.
Mr. Corbin, a veteran of the Marine Corps, served during World War II. He worked for 18 years as a salesman for the Georgia Cigar and Tobacco Company in Albany, and for 38 years as a salesman for Glover Wholesale Company. He was a member and former deacon of First Baptist Church, served as an usher and was a member of Keystone Sunday School class for many years.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Marvlyn and Perry Kirk of Covington; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl F. Corbin Jr. and Cindy Corbin of Americus; four grandchildren, Becky Bankston of Covington, Brad Bankston, Zac Corbin and Mindy Corbin, all of Americus; one great-granddaughter, Lilly Corbin of Americus; a sister-in-law, Frances Adcock of Dublin; two brothers-in-law, Douglas English and Jack English, both of Hawkinsville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was native of Coeburn, Virginia, and was a daughter of the late Oliver and Bessie Boggs, Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of Pine Bluff Baptist Church.

Dobbs, III and Darryl F. and Robbie Dobbs, all of Sylvester; a daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Leonard Lee, Jr. of Sylvester; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Trevia Boggs of Banner, VA, Oliver Boggs of Coeburn, VA, Donald Boggs of Sylvester and Joe and Mollie Boggs of Leesburg; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Marie and Allen Adams of Valdosta, Maxine and Bobby Couch of Flat Woods, VA, Eunice Boggs and Libby Boggs, both of Coeburn; 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

OCILLA - Friends of Eloise Whitley Hunter, 88, of Irwin County, GA, will regret to learn of her death on Saturday, October 12, 2002 in Dorminy Medical Center, Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Hunter was born on November 8, 1913 in Irwin County, to the late Archie Whitley and Lula Mixon Whitley. She was the widow of the late James Ernest Hunter. Mrs. Hunter had lived in Irwin County most of her life and was a homemaker. She was also a member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla, with the Revs. Ronny Griner and Bobby Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Pinetta Cemetery, Irwin County. Visitation will be held from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. today (Monday) at the funeral home.
She is survived by four sons, J.D. Hunter of Tallahassee, FL, Eugene Hunter, Curtis Hunter and Gary Hunter, all of Ocilla; four daughters, Maggie Cleghorn of Albany, Sandra Bryson of Warner Robins, Linda Gray of Brunswick, and Karen Fennell of Kennesaw; a brother, Richard Whitley of Decatur; a sister, Jeanette Shaw of Mobile, AL; and 24 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by a grandson, Russ Bryson.
