The graveside funeral service of Gladys Pauline Stone, 81, of 306 Lynn Lane, Albany, who died Thursday, June 10, 2004, will be conducted Monday at 10:00 A.M. in Andersonville National Cemetery. Rev. Chuck Smith will officiate
A native of Logan County, WV, Mrs. Stone had resided in Albany since 1988 moving here from Cleveland, Ohio. She retired in 1972 from Cleveland Electronics and was Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond M. Stone.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Rev. Chuck and Wilma Smith of Albany, five grandchildren, Scott Purdue, Mark Whittaker, Natalie Floyd, Carol Smith and Chad Smith, and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday at Mathews Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM.

The funeral service of Thad Hugh (Bo) Knight, Jr. 50, of 111 Knight Lane, Leesburg, who died Thursday, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital will be conducted Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Thundering Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Calvin King and Rev. Donnie Nix will officiate. Interment will follow in Thundering Springs Cemetery.
Born in Albany, Ga., Mr. Knight had resided in Lee Co., all of his life. He was employed with the Lee County Recreation Department, coached Lee Co. Dixie Youth Baseball,umpired and was a current member of the forty and over softball team. He was a avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and horseback riding. He was a member of Thundering Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Timothy (Tim) Knight and Tyler Knight both of Lee Co., GA., his parents, Thad Hugh Knight, Sr. and Bessie Jewel (B.J.) Smith Knight, Lee Co., GA., four sisters, Fran Walls, Jan Zimmerman and Betty Lou Bachman all of Lee Co., GA. and Kitty Shearer, Albany, GA.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
The family is at the residence of Nadine Askew, 483 White Pond Rd., Leesburg, GA.

The funeral service of Horace Jefferson "Skinnie" Jackson, 81, of 118 Cypress Point Circle, Leesburg, who died Friday at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, will be conducted Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Kinchafoonee Baptist Church. Pastor Horace Neal Jackson and Rev. Chuck Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be, Timmy Tompkins, Sr., David Jackson, Jr., Bryan Jackson, Darryl Jackson, Steven Jackson, Larry Cannon. Bobby Cannon and Alton Silver. Granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers. Jessica Cannon will play taps.
A native of Atlanta, Ga., Mr. Jackson had lived most of his life in Dougherty and Lee Counties. He was a retired farmer, WWII Army Veteran and a member of Kinchafoonee Baptist Church. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Neal and Minnie Cranford Jackson; a son, Emmitt Ray Jackson and three grandsons, Herman Ray Bridges, Paul Douglas Peak, Jr. and Wade Tompkins, Jr..
Survivors include four sons, David Jackson, Sr. of Leesburg, Willie "Mickey" Jackson of Mitchell County, Horace Neal Jackson of Red Bluff, Ca. and Jimmy W. Jackson of Chester, Va.; Three daughters, Lavonia Seawright of Leesburg, Teresa "T.J." Cannon of Worth County and Emily "Fay" Horne of Leesburg; two sisters, Ann Swails of Thomaston, Ga. and Edna Marshall of Leesburg formerly of Concord, Ga.. 19 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.

The graveside funeral service of Willow Dean Hilburn Rich, 83, of Highway 91 South, Newton, GA, who died Saturday, December 18, 2004, at her grandsons residence, will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Pilgrim's Home Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Bruce Pittman will officiate.
A native of Baker County, GA., Mrs. Rich had resided in Newton all of her life. She was retired from Newton Manufacturing and a member of Pilgrim's Home Baptist Church. Mrs. Rich was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Horace Rich, Jr.
Survivors include two sons, Benjamin (Ben) Horace Rich, III, and his wife, Anell of Stone Mountain, GA, and Bewey D. Rich and his wife, Sara of Leesburg, a brother, Clarence Hilburn and his wife, Pauline of Brunswick, GA, a sister, Faye West of Valparaiso, FL, a sister-in-law, Sara Hilburn of De Funiak Springs, FL, two grandsons, Jeff Rich of Stone Mountain, GA, and Ronnie Dean Rich and his wife, Wanda of Leesburg, two step-grandchildren,
The family will recieve friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. today (Monday) at Mathews Funeral Home.

The funeral service of James Ervin Phillips, 61, of 790 Grave Springs Road, Leesburg, GA., who died Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at his residence, will be conducted Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at Ronnie Stewart Funeral Home in Vidialia, GA. Revs. Bob Corley, Henry Dowd, Gary Roberson and Mr. Bill Wimberly will officiate. Interment will follow in North Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery in Vidalia, GA.
A native of Emanuel Co., GA, Mr. Phillips had resided in Leesburg for the past thirty-six years moving from Vidalia. He was an electronic technician having worked with both Sears and Cook's Appliance Service. Mr. Phillips was a member of the APP Flying club and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Velma Roundtree Phillips of Leesburg, a son and his wife, James Mark and Dani Phillips of Leesburg, his parents, Delmus and Fonnie Mae Phillips of Oak Park, GA, three brothers, Jerone Phillips, Ronald Phillips and Wayne Phillips, all of Oak Park, GA, and two grandchildren, Mark Phillips, Jr, and Sarah Elizabeth Phillips.
The family will receive friends tonight (Friday) from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home and Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ronnie Stewart Funeral Home, Vidalia, GA.

The funeral service of Carl Phillips, Jr., 73, of 4823 Millbrooke Road, Albany, who died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, will be conducted Saturday, March 19, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Pastor Robin Chaplin will officate. A private interment will follow in Gordon Cemetery.
A native of Damascus, GA, Mr. Phillips had resided in Albany since 1968 moving here from Falls Church, VA. Mr. Phillips had a distinqished military career serving in the Navy from 1948 until 1967 including the Korean Conflict. During this time, he served on both the USS Taussig and the USS Pocono. He served in the office of the Secretary of The Navy, the office of the Under Secretary Of the Navy, the headquarters of Support Operations Task Force in Europe, the headquarters of the Commander-In-Chief of U.S Naval Forces in London, England and the American Embassy in Madrid, Spain. He worked both for the CIA and the DIA.
Mr. Phillips was the former owner and operator of Albany Air Cargo and Freight Services for twenty years and was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Paul Phillips.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Roberts Phillips of Albany, two daughters, Brenda Phillips Sebaugh of Lagrange and Renee' Phillips Tucker of Albany, one son, David Carl Phillips of Albany, a sister and her husband, Yvonne and Larry Posten of Dunkirk, MD, five grandchildren, Jason Phillips, Brooke Howard, Josh Sebaugh, Nick Sebaugh and Kelly Tucker and one great grandchild, Abigail Howard.
The family will recieve friends today (Friday) from 7:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home.

The funeral service of Alvin Lamar Harvey, 70, of 1803 Antioch Road, Albany, who died Wednesday, August 3, 2005, will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Herbert Waid and Rev. Ken Chancellor will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Wilcox County, GA, Mr. Harvey was a member of the Well Drillers Assoc., The Home Builders Assoc. and The Tennessee Walking Horse Assoc. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U. S. Air Force, formerly served as a fireman with the Albany Fire Department and a member of Greenwood Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kate Shutes Harvey of Albany, three daughters, Karen Harvey Austin and husband, John of Clayton, GA, Renee’ Harvey McDonald Davenport and husband, Lynn and Marie Harvey Smith Ostrander and husband, John, all of Lee County, a brother, Charles Walter Harvey and his wife, Luneal of Tifton, GA, two sisters, Jeanette Harvey Collins and Wilma Harvey Dubose, both of Albany, seven grandchildren, Brandon More, Stevie McDonald, Matthew Harvey, Ashley Austin, Heather Smith, Adam Austin and Tiffany Smith, and three great-grandchildren, Tyler Lee Holt, Destinie More and Brandon M. More.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

The funeral service of Mary Nettie Nelms, 72, of 1509 Avalon Avenue, Albany, who died December 1, 2005, at her residence, will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home. Pastor Doug Nelms and Pastor Donnie Sloan will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Camilla.
A native of Mitchell County, GA, Mrs. Nelms had resided in Albany since 1959 moving from Mitchell County. She retired in 1993 after thirty-five years with Coats and Clark and was a member of Cathedral of Faith.
Survivors include her husband, Junior Lee Nelson Nelms of Albany, two sons and their wives, Pastor Doug and Newana Nelms of Conyers and Randall and Nancy Nelms of Albany, a daughter, Melissa Nelms of Albany, father, Julius Walker Willingham of Albany, a brother and his wife, Levon and Laverne Willingham of Albany, a sister and her husband, Shirley and Robert Weaver of Albany and six grandchildren.
The family received friends Friday at Mathews Funeral Home from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

The funeral service of Linda Lewis Erickson, 60, of 601 Eight Mile Road, Albany, who died Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Jackie Williams will officiate. Interment will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Edison.
A native of Calhoun County, GA, Mrs. Erickson had resided in Albany for the past 37 years. She was a carrier and clerk with the U. S. Post Office a former member of NALC, former board member of Albany Federal Employees Credit Union and had been very active in her children’s and grandchildren’s school activities and had a high love for arts and crafts and plants. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Q. D. (Eric) Erickson of Albany, two sons, Darin A. Erickson and his wife, Teresa, of Leesburg, David Erickson and his wife, 1Lt. USAF Christina (Tina) of Warner Robins, GA, daughter, Holly Pollock and her husband, Kirk of Camilla, her mother, Margaret Daniel Lewis, Edison and four grandchildren, Brandon Erickson, Dylan Erickson, Gracie Pollock and Haiden Pollock.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

The graveside funeral service of Thomas Cornelius Webb, 81, of 210 David Road, Leesburg, who died Monday, January 16, 2006, at his residence, will be conducted Saturday, January 21, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at Ogle Hill Cemetery in Newport, TN. Rev. Wylie Woody will officiate.
A native of Cocke County, TN, Mr. Webb had resided in the Albany area since 1962 and he was the retired owner of Webb Roofing. He was a charter member and elder of Philema Road Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the V. F. W. Post #2785. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ila Webb and a son, Ronald Webb.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Williams Webb, two sons and their wives, Roger and Barbara Webb and Rodney and Yvonne Webb, and a daughter and her husband, Renan and Darrell Cross, all of Lee County, a sister, Geneva Ball of Newport, TN, seven grandchildren, Roger Webb, Jr., Rahnee Webb, Kimberly Williams, Heather Cross, David Webb, Jason Webb and Jana Webb and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Manes Funeral Home in Newport, TN.

The funeral services of Gladys Hatcher Martin, 89, of 1904 Palmyra Road, Albany, who died Sunday, July 25, 2004 at Palmyra Nuring home, will be conducted Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. Interment will follow in Akridge Cemetery, Camilla, Georgia.
A native of Mitchell County, Mrs. Martin had resided in Albany for the past sixty four years, moving from Camilla. She was retired from Bobs Candies Company after thirty five years and was a charter member of Westview Baptist Church. Mrs. Martin was the widow of Clyde Martin.
Survivors include a son C. Russell Martin, Jr. and his wife, Patsy of Albany, a daughter and her husband Mary Elizabeth and Robert Birchler of Savannah; four grandchildren, Richard Martin and Jeff Martin both of St. Simons and Brad Birchler and Bobby Birchler both of Savannah in a addition, she is survived by two step grandchildren, Dee Cox and Missy Funderburk both of Albany. Three sisters, Opal Brooks of Camilla, Flo McFadden of Albany and Grace Turner of Mobile, Al., one brother, Ray "Buck" Hatcher of Camilla, seven great grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Martin, Janie Jordan and Toy Hill Williams and three brothers, James Hatcher, Leo Hatcher and Talmadge Hatcher.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
