Max Frosteg
PELHAM - Max "Bull" Frosteg, 81, of 251 Tennyson Street, Pelham, died Thursday, November 21, 2002, at Mitchell County Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Pelham Cemetery. The Rev. Lynn Roberts will officiate.
The honorary pallbearers will be Allen Burford, Sonny Redman, Bill Twitty, Marcus Collins, Ray Knight, Tommy Wilson, Charles Lodge, George Summerford, Bo Godwin, Ray Muggridge, Dewain Humphries and Terry Palmer.
Active pallbearers will be Scooter Faber, Michael Faber, Ronnie Faber, Larry Frosteg, Ricky Faber and John Kennedy.
A native of Meigs, Mr. Frosteg was a businessman and entrepreneur in produce, tobacco and real estate. He was the founder of the Pelham Athletic program, former athletic director, former mayor of Pelham, member of the Mitchell County Sports Hall of Fame, Pelham Citizen of the Year in 1988, graduate of Georgia Military Academy and a Georgia Military Academy Distinguished Alumnus in 1988. He was also an Air Force veteran of WW II.
Survivors include his wife, Ray Jean Frosteg of Pelham; brother, Philip "Huck" Frosteg of Pelham; sister, Rebecca Faber of Pelham.
Visitation will be 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

MOULTRIE - Margaret Oreva Brannen Gurley, 87, of 116 Thompson Road, Moultrie, died Tuesday, November 19, 2002, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Life Tabernacle Church, formerly Greenfield, with interment in Mt. Horeb Cemetery in Madison, Fla.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday at New Life Tabernacle Church.

Thomas Jefferson Jackson
ASHBURN - Thomas Jefferson Jackson, 64, of 32 Ironwood Lane, Ashburn, died Monday, November 18, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Providence Baptist Church in Ashburn with interment in Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn. The Rev. Marvin Brown, pastor will officiate.
A native of Turner County, Mr. Jackson was a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. He was a member of New Providence Baptist Church in Ashburn.
Survivors include three daughters, Teresa McClain of Atlanta, Retunda English and Lawanda Garrett, both of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Elizabeth Jackson and Katherine Jackson, both of Ashburn; three brothers, Willie B. Jackson and Curtis Jackson, both of Ashburn, and Leroy Jackson of Tifton; five grandchildren.

ASHBURN - Beatrice Johnson, 66, of 116 Georgia Drive, Ashburn, died Tuesday, November 19, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church in Ashburn with interment in Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn. The Rev. Marvin Cuffie, pastor will officiate.
A native of Dooly County, Mrs. Johnson was a housekeeper. She was educated in the Turner County Public School System and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Ashburn.
Survivors include her husband, Andrew Johnson; five daughters, Laura Carithers and Marie Johnson, both of Ashburn, Fay Daniel of Tifton, and Annie Hall McCray and Malouise Holloman, both of Ashburn; three sons, Jimmy Johnson, Floyd Johnson and Andrew Johnson Jr., all of Ashburn; three brothers, Floyd Pierce Sr., Albert Pierce Jr. and Damon Pierce Sr., all of Ashburn; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
