The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Ochlocknee with interment in Ochlocknee Northside Cemetery.

Alfred L. King
DONALSONVILLE - We regret to announce the passing of Alfred L. King, 81, of Donalsonville, GA, who passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at the Donalsonville Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2003, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA, with Dr. Ron McCaskill and the Rev. Luther Hastey officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. today at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
Mr. King was born December 29, 1921, in Brinson, GA, to the late Newton E. and Edna Perry King. He met and married Audrey Williams December 24, 1941. He was the owner of A. King's Grocery Store in Donalsonville for 15 years, also working at the Surprise Store for over 30 years. He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church where he taught Junior Boy's Sunday School for a number of years. He was a veteran of World War II.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife Audrey; one son, Ronald E. King and his wife Judy of Columbus, GA; two grandchildren, Anna King and David King; one brother, Jabo King and his wife Mary Helon of Donalsonville, GA; nephew Ed King and family and niece Kathy King Corbett and family.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, 432 E. Shotwell St., Bainbridge, GA 39819, or First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 81, Donalsonville, GA 39845.

THOMASVILLE - Services for Betty B. McGalliard of Thomasville are at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Milton C. Gardner, the Rev. Dan Spencer and the Rev. John Rainey will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. McGalliard died Thursday, March 20, 2003, at Plantation Manor. Born July 30, 1927, in Thomasville, GA., she was the daughter of the late Fred Broome Sr., and Annie Broome. She was married to the late Robert McGalliard. She was a member of First Baptist Church, a 1945 graduate from Thomasville High School and retired from the Social Security Administration.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Sandi Davis of Bainbridge; daughter, Sheila Hester; sons and daughter-in-law, Glen and Lavinia Davis and Tommy and Marshall McGalliard, all of Thomasville; grandchildren, Rob Mercer of St. Simons Island, Marty Davis of Thomasville, Adrian Davis of Atlanta, Maggie McGalliard, Kellie McGalliard of Thomasville, and Andy Davis of Bainbridge, and great grandchildren Courtney Mercer and Dawson Davis.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Broome Jr. and a sister, Florence Anderson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Saturday.

Lee Raymond Nowell
COLQUITT - Lee Raymond Nowell, 93, of Clearwater, Fla., died Monday, March 17, 2003, at his residence.
The graveside funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Colquitt City Cemetery. The Rev. Walter Daniels will officiate.
Born July 30, 1909, in Miller County, Mr. Nowell graduated from Miller County High School, after which he moved to Atlanta where he studied and passed the GA Bar Exam in the early 1930's. He transferred to Washington, D.C., where he worked for the Interstate Commerce Commission until retirement in 1965 at which time he had advanced to the position of Director of the Bureau of Water Carriers and Freight Forwarders. He was a member of Colquitt United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Marie Newell Fontaine of Springfield, VA, Jane Nowell Collingwood of Maggie Valley, NC; one son, Raymond Nowell Sr. of Ooltewah, TN; one sister, Nellie Maud Nowell Jordan; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise McLean Nowell and second wife, Ruth Garrison Nowell; parents, Tolbert Hammond and Johnnie Vasco Free Nowell; two brothers, George Nowell and Hammond Nowell; one sister, Sarah Nowell Bevis.
Visitation will be 7 p.m.-9 p.m. today at Colquitt Funeral Home.

ASHBURN - Graveside funeral services for Carson B. Shivers, 84, of 600 South Perry Drive, Ashburn, will be held Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in Live Oak Cemetery. Mr. Shivers died Thursday, March 20, 2003, at Ashburn Health Care following an extended illness.
Mr. Shivers was born in Turner County and was the son of the late A.F. Shivers Sr. and Willie Catherine White Shivers. Mr. Shivers was a member of Ashburn First United Methodist Church and was a member of the official board for many years. Mr. Shivers was a farmer before entering the U.S. Army on November 27, 1942. He went overseas with the 4th Infantry Division and entered Europe on D Day, June 6, 1944. He received the Combat Infantryman's Badge, Purple Heart, Bronze Star, European Theater Ribbons with 3 battle stars for Normandy, Northern France and the Rineland, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was discharged Nov. 2, 1945, and returned to the farm. He married Clara Courtoy on Jan. 16, 1949. In 1952, they left the farm for other work including forestry, meat cutting, and then Civil Service at the MCLB in Albany from which he retired. While at MCLB, he received two monetary awards. Following retirement he was an avid gardener.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Courtoy Shivers of Ashburn; brothers, A.F. "Buddy" Shivers and Billy Shivers, both of Ashburn; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6 p.m.-7 p.m. today at Perry Funeral Chapel.

Ola Mae Jessie Williams
DAWSON - Ola Mae Jessie Williams, 73, of 462 Cherry Street SE, Dawson, GA, died Sunday, March 16, 2003, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2003, at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church, Dawson, GA. The Rev. M.W. Merritt will officiate. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery.
She attended the public schools of Terrell County, GA. Ola Mae was a member of Sardis Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a faithful member and worked diligently with the Dorcas Club. She retired from the Southwest Georgia Community Action Council.
The legacy of her season is left to her loving children, Willie Gene Bridges Jr., Stella W. Kinnel (Edward) and Denise W. Daniel (David), all of Dawson, GA, Linda S. Leary (John), Ricky Williams (Genia), Julia M. Burton (Terence), Gloria W. Brown and Johnny Williams (Barbara), all of Atlanta, GA. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Carolyn W. Stephens and Peggy Ruth Williams; three brothers, Eddie Brown (Mattie) of Columbus, OH, the Rev. Marvin Brown (Ruth) of Dawson, GA, and Larry Collier of Atlanta, GA, three sisters, Lillie Brown and Shirley Banks, both of Dawson, GA, and Mildred Lois Smith (Charles) of Jacksonville, Fl. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie Florence Hill and Janice Collier. Also reared together as brothers and sisters, Deacon Levi Lyles and Haron Jessie (Ruby), both of Jacksonville, FL, and Albert Benjamin, Clara Jessie and Ira Dean Benjamin, all of Dawson, GA; two brothers-in-law, Johnny Williams and Agnew Grier Sr., both of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters-in-law, Lillie Grier and Julia Parker, both of Jacksonville, FL; two uncles, Dock Benjamin and Deacon Lonnie Jackson, both of Dawson, GA; three aunts, Ida Pearl Woodson of Newark, NJ, Hattie Jessie of Dawson, GA, and Lizzie Brooks of Cleveland, OH; 22 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; three godchildren, Calvin Williams, Patricia Costello and Daisy Wilson, all of Dawson, GA; two close friends, Jessie Dell Marshall of Dawson, GA, and Ella Mae Moore of Moultrie, GA. A host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ms. Hartman was a native of Albany, GA, born May 16, 1970.
She is survived by her son Maxwell Hartman of Pensacola, FL; her mother, Jane Kimbrell of Albany; her father, Herbert and Dawn Kimbrell of Albany; and her brother, Ray and Rene Kimbrell of Albany.

Born March 15, 1951, in Lee County, Mr. Johnson was a forklift operator for Flint River Textile. He attended Lee County public schools and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Janec Aldridge of Americus; one sister, Gloria Johnson of Leesburg; five brothers, J.C. Johnson of DeSoto, David Johnson of Dalton, Tenn., Richard Johnson of Springfield, MO, Larry Johnson of Leesburg and Curtis Johnson of Albany; his grandmother, Leola Bryant of Albany and two grandchildren.
The family of Mr. Johnson will receive friends and relatives at the residence of 347 Middle Road, Leesburg.
