ALBANY - B.C. Takach, 64, of 902 Old Pretoria Road died Monday, April 28, 2003, at his residence.
The funeral service will be held Friday, 11 AM at St. Teresa's Catholic Church with interment at 2 P.M. at Greenwood Cemetery in Cairo, GA, with full military honors. The Rev. Finbarr Stanton will officiate.
A native of Braddock, PA, Mr. Takach had lived in Albany for the past 34 years. He was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge. Mr. Takach worked in the appliance department at Sears for 27 years. He served in the U.S. Navy, Air Force and Air Force Reserve. He retired from the U.S. Air Force Reserve in 1998.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Takach of Albany; two sons, Tony Takach and his wife Lynn of Cairo, James "Jay" Takach of Tallahassee, FL; two stepsons, Gary Davis and Steve Davis, both of Albany; two stepdaughters, Debbie Daughtry and her husband Dennis of Abbeville, AL, Glenda Munoz and her husband Darrell of Baconton; one brother, Rick Takacs of Phoenix, AZ, and 14 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern today from 6 PM until 8 PM.

COLQUITT - Flora Agnes Rogers, 90, of Colquitt died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Miller Nursing Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Damascus Missionary Baptist Church with interment in Cross Roads Cemetery. The Rev. Buren Womble, the Rev. Harold Pullen and Dr. William D. Wood will officiate.
Born September 29, 1912, in Houston County, AL, Mrs. Rogers was a homemaker and a member of Damascus Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mavis Campbell of Columbus, Bobbye Glass of Colquitt and Cheryl Mathis of Apalachicola, FL; three sons, William D. Wood of Lake City, FL, Harold T. Wood of Victoria, TX, and Freddie A. Rogers of Damascus; one son-in-law, George Mathis of Apalachicola, FL; two daughters-in-law, Eleanor Wood of Lake City, FL, and Maxine Wood of Victoria, TX; 24 grandchildren; a large number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 7 p.m.-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

COLQUITT - Andy Joel Williams, 46, of Colquitt, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, in the VA Hospital in Lake City, Fla.
The funeral wil be at 4 p.m. today at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with interment in New Home Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. John Lewis and the Rev. Wayne Sheffield will officiate.
Active pallbearers will be Curt Williams, Bert Williams, Keith Lane, Nicky Cox, Steve Gause, and Teddy Smith.
A native of Seminole County, Mr. Williams was born February 14, 1957. He was a supervisor at Amoco Fabrics in Bainbridge. He was a member of New Home Free Will Baptist Church and of the Gerald Grow Post #165 American Legion. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Williams.
Survivors include a son, Andy Joel Williams Jr. of Blakely; mother, Jeanette Williams of Colquitt; brother, Aaron Williams of Colquitt; two nephews, Curtis M. Williams and Bert A. Williams, both of Colquitt; two great-nephews, Curtis Christian Williams and Jacob Avery Williams, both of Colquitt.

Merle Lee Burnham
ALBANY - Merle Lee Burnham, 83, of Albany died Monday, May 12, 2003, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
A native of Arabi, Georgia, Mrs. Burnham had lived in Albany for more than 50 years. She retired from the Marine Corps Supply Center as an inspector. She was a member of East Albany Baptist Church and a member of ALSAC.
The graveside service will be held Friday, 2 PM at Floral Memory Gardens with the Rev. Tim Bice officiating.
Survivors include a son, Hugh Lee Burnham and his wife Betty of Palatka, FL; a daughter, Joanne B. Matthews of Durham, NC; four sisters and two brothers; five grandchildren, Hugh Burnham Jr. and his wife Shirley of Hastings, FL, Angie Burnham of Palatka, FL, Kay Drew and her husband Jess of Ft. Pierce, FL, Thomas Matthews of Durham, NC, Beth Shout and her husband Neal of Durham, NC; six great-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jenny Lee and her husband Clifford Lee Burnham and one brother and one sister.
The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern Friday from 12 PM to 1:30 PM.

ALBANY - JoAnn C. (Nanny) Jones, 60, of 123 Society St. in Leesburg, GA, died Monday, May 12, 2003, at her residence.
The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. today at Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Bob Prince and the Rev. Tim Cadenhead will officiate.
A native of Robbinsville, NC, Mrs. Jones had lived in Leesburg, GA, 31 years. She was a member of Harvest Temple Church of God, and was retired from Delphi Corp. with 23 years of service. Mrs. Jones never met a stranger. She was a loving person and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her husband, Charles D. Jones Sr.; two sons, Charles D. Jones Jr., Charles D. Jones III, all of Leesburg, GA; one stepson, Charles Greg Jones of Jesup, GA; three daughters Vicki Hasty of Moultrie, GA, Kenna Watson of Omaha, GA, and Candice Jones of Leesburg, GA; 10 grandchildren; one sister, Betty Jean Ackers of Abington, VA; one half-brother, Winston Catlett of of Rossville, GA.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Westberry.

William Walter Quinn
ALBANY - Master Sergeant William Walter Quinn, 83, of Albany died Sunday, May 11, 2003, at his residence.
Mr. Quinn retired after twenty-one years in the U.S. Army achieving the rank of Master Sergeant and serving in WW II and Korea. Mr. Quinn earned many medals and recognition during his years of service. Mr. Quinn entered the Civil Service working at the Marine Corps Logistics Base here in Albany for nearly 30 years having retired.
Mr. Quinn's funeral service will be graveside in Lebanon National Cemetery in Lebanon, KY, with military honors.
Mr. Quinn was recently preceded in death his wife, Gloria Cecelia Korkemas and leaves one son, Wayne Quinn Sr. of Albany and three grandchildren, Wayne Quinn Jr. of Albany, Rachael Louise Quinn of Albany and John Dale Quinn of Cherry Point, NC.

ALBANY - GySgt. Ray Snyder, USMC, (Ret.), 63, of Albany died Saturday, May 10, 2003, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service will be held Thursday 2 PM at Andersonville National Cemetery with full military honors. Chaplain Roger Richards will officiate.
GySgt. Snyder was retired from the United States Marine Corps and served two tours in Vietnam. He had lived in Albany since 1974. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Ray Snyder and Lena Mae Snyder.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Snyder of Albany; two sons, Jeffery and Gregory Snyder, both of Albany; daughter, Kimberly Snyder Cook of Albany; sister, Betty Davis of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren, Garrett Snyder, Caitlin Snyder, Alli Cook, Hunter Snyder, all of Albany, Keith and Lance Snyder of FL; nephews, Tim, Mike, Steve and Kevin.
The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-stern today from 6 PM to 8 PM.

BAINBRIDGE - Virginia Miller Bishop, 72, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at her residence.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Black Jack Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Dick Dickinson will officiate.
Mrs. Bishop was born June 30, 1930, in Grady County, GA, the daughter of Jesse Allen "Doc" Miller and Pearl Cooper Miller. She graduated from Whigham High School and married James Bishop on June 18, 1949. She was a sales clerk at Belk's and a member of Black Jack Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, J.E. Bishop of Bainbridge, GA; son, Eddie Bishop of Bainbridge, GA; two daughters, Susan Thompson (Tommy) of Bainbridge, GA, and Teresa Breezee (Pete) of Blakely, GA; a brother, Henry Allen Miller of Visalia, CA; and a grandson, Ryan Breezee of Marianna, FL.
