Betty Hunt Ervin
ALBANY - Betty Hunt Ervin, 65, of 164 Lovers Lane Road, died at her residence Monday evening, February 10, 2003, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday at First Baptist Church with interment to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Dr. James M. Ramsey will officiate and Fred Ayers will deliver the eulogy.
A native of Early County, Mrs. Ervin had resided in Albany for a number of years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Albany Lioness Club and the Albany Lions Club. She was an ambassador for Lions Clubs International all around the world from 1996 through 2000, serving as the First Lady of Lions of Georgia and Lions of the World in 1999 and 2000.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Ervin, of Albany; two sons, Christopher Glen Corliss of Tallahassee, Fla., and Spencer Craig Corliss and his wife Selina of Sylvester, GA; a stepdaughter, Becky Ervin and a stepson, Matthew Ervin, both of New York; a brother, Thomas Charlton Hunt Jr. and his wife Roberta of Damascus, GA; a stepbrother, Marion Martin of Albany; two stepsisters, Gwen Morris and Linda Luper, both of Warner Robins, GA; grandchildren, Christopher Glen Corliss II, Cari Nicole Corliss and Cody Paul Corliss, all of Albany, Michael Chad Corliss and Joshua Hunter Corliss both of Sylvester, GA; aunts, Frances Rogers McDaniel of Albany, Henrietta Rogers Melvin of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., and Juanita Hunt Harper of Colquitt, GA, nieces and nephews, Gary and Sharon Hunt, Terry and Ginger Hunt and Jerry and Sue Hunt all of Blakely, GA, Sheryn and Kip Keen of Leesburg, GA, and Tracy and Chris Williamson of Doerun, GA; two great nieces and eight great nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern today from 6:30 PM-8:30 PM. Those desiring may send memorials to Lions Club International Foundation, 300 22nd St., Oakbrook, IL 60523-8842 or the Albany Community Hospice, P.O. Box 1828, Albany, GA 31702.

Blanche Henrietta Goddard
ALBANY - Blanche Henrietta Goddard, 71, died Monday, February 10, 2003, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hall & Hall Funeral Home with interment at 2 p.m. at Andersonville National Cemetery with the Rev. Charlie Rouse officiating.
Mrs. Goddard, a native of Buffalo, NY, lived in Albany for the past 32 years. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and was a supporter of the Southwest Georgia Sportman Club. She was retired from Sears after 25 years of service. During Mr. Goddard's 71 years, her loving hand touched lives of countless family members and friends. Her caring influence made a difference in so many lives and her presence will leave a void in the hearts of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by an infant son, David Goddard.
She is survived by her husband, Retired Master Sergeant Joseph W. Goddard; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Valerie Goddard of St. Mary's, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne Blanche and Dean Pocock of Portsmouth, VA, and Jean and Jimmy Martin of Albany; daughters, Carol Woodard of Albany and Martha Klees of Apopka, FL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edwin and Anne Ludwig of Aquone, NC, Ralph and Sandy Ludwig of Seqin, TX, and Charles and Carolyn Ludwig of West Palm Beach, FL; sisters and brothers-in-law, Edna and Leo Nash of Schuylerville, NY, and Phyllis and Darrel Branning of Deland, FL; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. today at Hall & Hall Funeral Home.

ALBANY - Ruth E. Golatt-Moran, 96, of 1410 Greenbrier Court died Friday, February 7, 2003, at Albany Health Care Center.
The funeral will be at noon Thursday at Institutional First Baptist Church in Albany with interment in Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. E.G. Sherman will officiate.
Born September 30, 1906, in Anderson County, South Carolina, Mrs. Golatt-Moran was a homemaker. She attended Anderson County public schools and was a member of Institutional First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, William L. (Flora) Brown of Albany; three sisters, Zadie Golatt of Washington, D.C., Elizabeth Millon and Addie Keesley, both of New York, New York, Robert Keesley of Anderson County, S.C.; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

HELENA - Lessie M. Clark Harrell, 78, of Savannah died Sunday, February 9, 2003.
Funeral services will be held today at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Lowe's Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rockwell Baptist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Harrell was a native of Telfair County, daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Ellen Loyd Clark and resided in Albany, GA, for many years. She was retired from Krispy-Kreme Doughnut of Albany. She was a member of Eastern Star.
She is survived by daughter, Bridget Caldwell of Guyton; sons, Ronnie C. Harrell of Dublin and Randy Harrell of Savannah; five grandchildren, Clark Harrell, Chris Harrell, Stephanie Harrell, Sarah Harrell and Charlie Harrell; sisters, Nealie Pittman of Helena, Lola Pickle of Menlo and Nora Brown of Poulan.

AMERICUS - Jane Tison McRee, 85, of Smithville, died at her residence Monday morning, February 10, 2003.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Smithville Baptist Church with interment to follow in Smithville Cemetery. Deacons of Smithville Baptist Church, both active and inactive, are requested to serve as active or honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. McRee, a native and lifetime resident of Lee County, was born November 15, 1917, a daughter of the late Wallace D. and Claudia Pauline Hines Tison. She was the wife of the late Riley Claud McRee who preceded her in death April 9, 2002. For a number of years, she taught home economics and later served as the visiting teacher for the Lee County School System. She was a very active member of Smithville Baptist Church as long as her health permitted, serving as Sunday School member and teacher, Women's Missionary Union leader, vacation Bible school instructor, and in numerous other church roles. She was a former member of the Frank L. Stanton Garden Club.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Claudia and Everett Copeland and Paula M. Cannon, all of Smithville; a son and daughter-in-law, Riley Chris and Marjie McRee of Smithville; grandchildren, Clay and Melanie Copeland of Americus, Rebecca Copeland and Ry McRee, both of Smithville, Kelli and Michael Elliott of McDonough, Jay and Chris Cannon of Columbus, Greta and Jeremy Miller of Dawson, and Mandy McRee of Birmingham, Ala.; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Morris was born June 4, 1926, in Randolph County, daughter of the late Francis F. Oliver and Ada Page Oliver. She was a retired retail clerk, a member of First Baptist Church, and a member of the Cuthbert Canasta and Bridge Club.
Survivors include her husband, L. Aubrey Morris; two sons, Ronald E. Morris of Douglasville, and Richard A. Morris of Dawson; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
